We should really clean up the mess we've made, shouldn't we."

Kazuma tried to talk to Megumin, who was fast asleep.

Maybe she was pretending to be asleep.

That doesn't really matter, Kazuma wouldn't want to wake her up either way. He'll clean it all by himself before Megumin wakes up.

It was kind of hard to stand up with the way they laid down.

Yet, the moment he tried, he felt something was off.

Megumin's arms were tight around his back.

He didn't mind that she was holding him like that, since he trusts her.

But…

"Megumin, can you let go of me?"

She is holding her own hand tightly.

Effectively holding Kazuma in a death grip.

"No."

Kazuma stayed quiet, thinking of a plan.

Yeah right, he wasn't composed at all.

The girl he loves was clinging onto him like she was clinging onto her life.

Only the famed 'Katsuragi' or whatever his name was would stay composed in this situation.

Too bad the woman he loves will never look his way… Anyway.

Kazuma stood up forcefully and Megumin wrapped around him with her legs as well.

"I wanted to stay like that for longer!"

Kazuma was furiously shaking his entire torso.

"If you want that, you can come to my room whenever you want!"

As I stated before, composure is gone. He'll say anything to get out of this situation.

"Hoh…"

Kazuma froze in place.

The same aura is coming off of Megumin as when she was blackmailing him to take her into the party.

"Whenever I want?"

Whenever her eyes shine this brightly, it's scary.

"I will take you up on that y'know."

Megumin was looking right at him.

"If you promise, I'll let go and help you."

Now she gave up on being intimidating. Her face got red and she looked away.

(I wouldn't like this fic myself, ngl. It is fun to write though.)

"How could I not give up on that offer?"

Kazuma bent down over the bed to let Megumin get off of him.

But Megumin pulled herself closer. So fast that Kazuma wasn't able to react to it.

She gave him a peck on the cheek and released her grip, falling on the bed and standing up as fast as she possibly could.

*Megumin is really assertive. I didn't expect that.*

"Ahum, we need to clean up right?"

Kazuma perked up.

"Y-yes!"

The two wordlessly started cleaning up, putting the leftover bread in the trash and taking out some convenient broom that was in a small sub-room.

"Hey, Kazuma?"

"Kazuma-desu."

He turned around to face Megumin.

"I would like you to be the only one to go on explosion trips with me from now on."

Her face turned towards him and her eyes shone with a dim light.

(Yeah the discord group that works on this wanted me to make Kazuma have a dramatic reaction to her words. So, expect cringe.)

Kazuma got struck by the girl's sweet words.

Not being used to her being sweet, his heart ached.

"AAAAHHH!"

The poor boy fell to the ground holding where his heart was supposed to be.

Laying on his side, the girl was worried for him.

She fell on her knees besides him and embraced him.

"Kazuma!"

She held him as tight as she did before!

The boy, experiencing more pain from her embrace than his heart, responded.

"Kazuma-desu."

Both of them were confused.

And yet, we will never figure out where this will end up. Since we're skipping to their explosion walk…

The writer just doesn't know how to do a scene transition, don't hate me.

Just for clarification, Kazuma agreed to be the only one to go with her on explosion trips.

And so, with that covered. They went on their normal explosion trip.

Of course, singing the same song they always did, hopping through the road with their hands held.

Kazuma also had a basket of food with him.

But, besides that.

They both acted like nothing ever changed.

When they finally got out of the town, they walked until Megumin found something worth exploding.

Megumin walked forward with Kazuma standing a bit behind, giving her space to chant and move freely. As she always does.

Kazuma set down his basket, already found a good place to set down their picnic on the way back.

Megumin, on the other hand, started chanting.

She of course fell to the ground again, being sapped of mana.

The explosion had lost a bit of mass, but nothing in power.

Let's let Kazuma tell us how it looked and felt.

"I don't see as big of a 'mushroom', I'm guessing you focused more on the shape. On the other hand, the shockwave was the same if not stronger than normal and the heat was the same as other times."

Megumin's face retorted a little bit.

"I wanted to shape a heart!"

"Well, it's really impressive that you were able to keep the shockwave and heat even while focusing on the shape that much."

Her face loosened a bit and she sighed.

"How many points?"

"Eighty points."

"Only eighty?"

"Well, you didn't succeed in what you wanted to do, did you? I'll give you extra points if you pull off the heart-shaped explosion."

"Alright! I'll get it next time!"

Kazuma walked up to her and picked her up like normal, placing Megumin on his back and he started walking back.

"Hey, Kazuma?"

Megumin's voice was a bit softer and quieter.

"Hm?"

"C-can you…"

She was stuttering and talking slowly.

"...Carry me in your arms?"

Kazuma visibly tensed.

"Like I did before as a joke?"

"Yes."

*What is this girl on?*

Kazuma took a deep breath.

"Sure, but-"

There were some noises from behind them, coming from some bushes.

Kazuma turned around -a bit too quickly- almost losing his footing.

But he knows one thing for sure, those noises didn't come from anything natural. He heard slight human noises with it. Although he doesn't know exactly which noise, he knows it was a person and is scared of what it could be.

"Oii, I know someone is there."

Kazuma hinted to Megumin to give him her hand, so he can pump some mana faster than through her legs.

With the little strength she had, she was able to lower her hand enough so that Kazuma was able to grip it.

But at the same time there were noises coming from the bushes.

Time was running low. He can't have Megumin motionless and powerless on the floor and he may not even have enough time to give her enough mana.

After a few seconds, Kazuma noticed a hue of blue from behind the bush.

It was slowly getting bigger, more blue was visible.

There was also a hue of yellow, blonde in there.

"Oh."

Kazuma noticed.

"What are you two doing here."

It was Darkness and Aqua. Aqua had a frowning face while Darkness was looking the other way with a slight blush.

"Well, that's-"

Let's go back in time shall we?

Back to this morning, where Aqua dragged darkness outside the hotel on purpose.

(Time to reread for details! Be right back!)

(Alright! I've reread everything that Aqua witnessed, so I can write this now.)

"I have suspicions about Megumin and Kazuma."

"Ehhhh?"

Darkness wasn't interested.

Aqua put her hand on her chin and the other finger started swaying in front of Darkness.

"They have been acting weirdly more familiar and close last night and this morning?"

She got Darkness's attention.

"Last night?!"

"When we rented our rooms for a few days, Megumin was not against sleeping with Kazuma for multiple days. No, she wanted it to happen."

It seems Aqua's abysmal level of intelligence can actually deduct some things.

Although, Darkness got turned off again.

"Oh, what do you want to do about it?"

"Follow them on their explosion walk."

*The humiliation if we get caught!*

"Let's do it!"

Darkness was easily persuadable.

The two quietly followed from behind, Aqua wanted to rush ahead but Darkness stopped her. Since if they got too close, they had the chance of getting caught.

Darkness may've wanted to postpone that for the information they can get.

And information… they got enough of that. The two were holding hands while singing their original song and Kazuma was planning a picnic!

The suspicions were already higher before they got to the main part of their trip, the explosion.

To which they noticed that the two never reacted to holding hands, it was something a bit more than trivial, but still normal to the two.

Now the explosion came, Aqua and Darkness were not able to decipher the difference between this explosion and every other, but Kazuma was able to see and feel the difference almost perfectly.

He was also able to see where the lack of something came from. The size of the explosion.

Kazuma said that she was probably focusing on something else and therefore the size was a bit less.

Then Megumin said she was trying to form a heart.

Aqua's suspicions grew bigger.

Kazuma gave her points and calmed her down in the best way possible.

He picked her up like normal and started walking back.

That's when Megumin asked if she could be carried like a princess.

Darkness moaned and Aqua moved quickly to shut her up, but that made some noise that Kazuma noticed.

They were spotted.

"Oii, I know someone is there."

Aqua peeked out to see Kazuma on guard, prepared to fight for his life.

Probably already creating a plan to get out of there.

So Darkness got out as fast as possible and Aqua followed.

"Oh, it's you two."

Kazuma got off guard.

The two fully got out of the bushes now.

"Why are you two here?"

Darkness wanted to explain.

"Well that's-"

Aqua interrupted.

"You two were acting awfully suspicious last night, so I took matters into my own hands."

Kazuma whispered to Megumin.

"So we were that bad at hiding our behaviour?"

"It seems so."

Aqua never noticed the two whispering over her boasting.

"It was strange both of you were open to the idea of sleeping together."

Kazuma struck a pose, pointing her finger at the two.

"Explain yourselves!"

(Why was Darkness even here to begin with?)

Kazuma sighed.

"We were going to tell you both either way, the only thing you did was make it go faster."

"Stop postponing it!"

"Alright..!"

Kazuma was more embarrassed than he thought he would be.

"The thing is-"

"We're dating."

Megumin interrupted Kazuma before he could finish.

"Hm-hm, ma-"

It took a moment for Aqua to process.

"Whaat????"

Darkness was standing in the background with a blank face, not having any way to add comedically to the scene. Nor does she know how to respond.

"Lolima is dating Megumin?!"

Oh yeah, Megumin was still on Kazuma's back, she barely has enough strength to stand on her own. And she'd rather stay on his back.

"I will not condone such insults to my boyfriend anymore."

Aqua fell to her knees, probably because she can't insult Kazuma with Megumin around anymore.

Darkness finally found something to say.

"Well, that was to be expected, with what the two went through recently. It makes sense."

Darkness grabbed Aqua's shoulder.

"We can accept this outcome, right? We're friends and we'll support each other."

(Uhh, sorry if this all feels forced.)

Aqua's face pointed towards Darkness's face, that had a gentle smile.

"Come on, let's go back. The two probably consider this a date now. Their own private time."

Darkness grabbed Aqua's arm tightly and started dragging her back to town.

"Ouch! That hurts Darkness!"

"What a way to ruin such a great scene."

"I know right."

Kazuma started walking back as well, going to the grass field he spotted on their way there.

The couple's first date went quite well as well.
