A short while later the train slowly came to a halt near Hogsmeade. Collecting their stowed gear took a few moments but they were ready in quick order. The short walk to the pier was perpetrated by the idle chatter of the other children, although Hermione's gushing wasn't much better. The pier itself was rather old and weathered but like many magical structures it did not appear run down. Whilst the Large man leading the group tried to wrangle all the children together she inspected the boats that they would travel in; they looked old to her enhanced sight, both in magic and visually. They seemed to be connected to something and looking up, now past the trees blocking her initial sight and damn near blinded herself.
The castle was akin to a lighthouse on a dark and stormy night, completely outshining anything she had ever seen before, the sheer amount of magic stunning her. Her eyes quickly adjusting to the sight gave her more details, whilst a lot of the magic seems to shroud her sight she can still gather that the ambient magic has consolidated forming a core of sorts, although even to her sight she cannot pinpoint it. She was interrupted from her reverence by Neville timidly telling her that they were boarding the small boats.
Thanking him she took a nearby boat, its magic almost seeming dim after seeing the castle, and boarded it with Hermione and Neville. The water was inky black and would have likely seemed daunting to the others but she could see through it clear as day, she was still mostly focused upon the castle but when she heard a splash she was rather fascinated by the peculiar magic coming from the squid, resolving to investigate it later she focused upon Hermione and Neville.
Hermione now age 11 was quite tall for her age at 4ft 9in and compared to the untamable mess her hair used to be it was quite well kept with it being mildly straight. Her front teeth had also been fixed after she had pestered Hermione's parents to go for braces young. Looking at how she was feeling she appeared reasonably confident but to her eyes, she could see the tension in her face and shoulders. Placing her hand upon her shoulder seemed to reassure her nicely. Looking down at her hands she was amused to find a book she knew Hermione had been reading excessively(even by Hermione's standards), Hogwarts a history. She spoke a bit with her about it now just to make some idle conversation and further remove her mind from worrying. Seeing that Hermione appeared reasonably relaxed now, she turned to Neville as she hadn't given him a good look over before.
Neville was also rather tall for his age at 4ft 11 in but his posture was atrocious and made him look puny standing next to others. For having such a handicap to his magic as he has, she is rather surprised at his skills, rather strong for his age as well. As a pureblood, and if her light research is correct, one from an old family then he may have family skills she could use. Whilst mildly useful, Neville will be much better as a friend than a resource as whilst having Hermione is great... She has noticed a rather steep mental decline, whether from her experiences back on remnant, being stuck as a child and the inadequacies that it brings or it may be the natural sociopathy children have and Hermione is unlikely to point out immoral flaws. She did remember reading that Children only develop true empathy around ten. Never the less she decided that he would join her group of friends.
Coming out of her thinking she looked and they were rapidly approaching a tunnel with a veil of vines covering it. Everyone around her made noises of awe at the foreboding tunnel and she had to admit it was quite an impressive entrance. A minute later of going through the darkness that was only broken by the occasional torch on the wall. finally, they turned in the tunnel and another dock was in front of them, they disembarked. After a few minutes of organization, the gaggle of children climbed the stairs up to the surface and onto the damp grass outside. The front of the castle was daunting with a behemoth of a door taking the centerpiece.
Stepping off the boat with her friends she looked around and observed the surrounding children. After a ew moments the grand old doors heaved open and McGonagall stepped through. She welcomed them to Hogwarts and then informed them about the houses of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin.
After the short introduction she told them that they would be called shortly and left through the doors. Hermione told them about her wanting to be in Gryffindor as that was the house Dumbledore was in, whilst ruby didn't have a particularly high opinion of the man she conceded it was a viable option despite pegging her as a Ravenclaw where she wanted to go herself as it seemed to be the least troublesome house to be in.
As they were moving on to how they would be sorted they were rudely interrupted by one of the redheads from the train station earlier.
"Hello, I'm Ron I've heard a lot about you and I think we could be friends"
Whilst his appearance was slightly run down there was no point in being rude and went to shake his hand but Ron was barged out of the way by a pale blond haired boy. Fortunately they decided to start insulting each other and you were able to back away and rejoin Hermione and Neville.
Just as it appeared Ron and the blond were about to come to blows McGonnegal enters and informs them that they can now enter. The massive doors creak open.
Ah, hello its been a while and I'm really sorry about that. I've been quite busy recently and had not a lot of time to do this. I'm honestly going to have to reread the entire story and try and figure out what I was doing its been that long. I mean I seem to go from tense to tense and the entire thing is pretty much a mess but I'm glad people seem to like it. Once again I am sorry but it may take a while for me to make a new chapter this is just something I quickly made.
Now onto the Reviews:
Spellflame:
1) Thanks I'm glad you liked it.
Catastrophiqu:

2) I am planning on making Neville basically Ruby's conscience.
3) I'll see what I can do but I generally write by the seat of my pants so who knows.
Merendinoemiliano:

Richard the Rhymer:
1) Thank you for the long review
2) It's actually part of the plot due to multiple reasons Ruby is not very stable and quite a bit of the future plot revolves around resolving that which is why the corruption system was implemented.
3) Your comments did make me laugh, you are spot on in your description
4) Thank you for the comment.
Shiro Houjuu
1) Thanks.
Zoran Dawn-Eclipse
1) Thanks for enthusiasm mate.
Tiafanix7:
1) Oh I know getting rabies has 100% death rate if you get it.
2) Yes it is unrealistic for it to be in Britain but so is magic and a gamer system so I'm not too bother about it?
3) Thank you for the comment though.
Thanks for reading, sorry about the absence and the crappy quality of the chapter but I felt bad about not poting so here is something to hopefully tide you over until I sort this mess out.
