A/N: I planned on releasing this in a few days but since I already had it done, decided to do it now. I don't know everyone's speech patterns so I'm just going to do the ones I know(or try).

"I love you" a woman with silver hair, wearing a black dress declared on a clear sunny day. Despite her facing him, Subaru couldn't see her face. It was blurred out with only her mouth being visible.

'Why is she blurred out'

Subaru didn't know where he was nor did he know who the woman was in front of him, but she made him feel strangely happy when she confessed.

Despite not being able to see her whole face, seeing the shy smile on her face made him feel like the luckiest man in the world. But a question remained, who was she and why did she love him?

As Subaru opened his mouth to ask, the scene before him changed and the bright sunny scene turned into what he could only describe as hell.

Everything in view was slowly being plunged into the shadows with broken buildings and countless screams being the only sound Subaru could hear. The once sunny sky was blocked by a combination of the dark clouds overhead and the smoke.

'What the hell? What happened? Where did she go? Why is everything being devoured by the shadows?'

The scene changed again, this time he was in some sort of battleground with a raging inferno surrounding him, he could see a figure engulfed in shadows off in the distance.

The shadows that engulfed the figure split off and like a whip snapped at him with unimaginable speeds.

'Did I die? And if not, am I going to die?'

"Oi Flugel, quit zoning out, you!" a voice yelled out in anger but Subaru didn't fail to notice the worried undertone, as a man pushed Subaru out of the way.

Subaru turned to the owner of the voice, a man who was slightly taller them himself with long fiery red hair, he wore a red kimono, and in his hand was a rather large sword with dragon claw marks on it. And like the woman, he was also blurred out but Subaru could make out that he had an eyepatch on his left eye.

'He looks so badass, I wonder if he'll let me use his sword'

"Who ar-" again the scene changed This time he was in a forest faced with an enormous dragon with shiny pale blue scales, a pair of horns coming out of his head, a halo on top of his head, and 2 pairs of wings. For some odd reason, Subaru didn't fear the dragon.

'Woah, a dragon, and a badass looking one at that. I wonder if I can tame it.'

"So it has come to this. Mineself hopes thy seal can hold her, Flugel. " The dragon turned his head looked far off in the distance. Subaru did the same but couldn't see anything.

"She's coming," the dragon said.

'What's he talking about? Who's coming?'

'Who's co-" the scene changed again and he was now in some sort of town with the dragon, man, and a girl with long blackish brown hair which was tied together.

She was tall and had a model physique and she only wore a black bikini-bra, a bow-tie, a necklace, black hotpants accompanied with an orange belt, and a tattered black-and-orange cloak.

"Reid, you and Volcanica buy time for me and Shaula to prepare the seal." This time, Subaru found that it was him that spoke but he didn't open his mouth. Subaru was beyond confused by this, hell, he didn't even know what was going on but at least now he knew their names.

'What's going on? Why does everything keep changing?''

"Wha-" the scene changed once more and he was now getting carried by the same girl from the meeting, Shaula.

He was again on some sort of battlefield but unlike the last one, there was no inferno but instead, shadows with the same figure engulfed as before, engulfed in the middle of it all.

"Master, are you alright? You hit your head pretty hard," she asked, her tone was a mixture of panicked and worried, as she checked Subaru's arms and legs to make sure he was fine.

'What's with everyone being blurred out? Wait, did she call me master?'

"Who are yo-" the scene changed again and Subaru was getting annoyed that he didn't get much time to ask anyone anything nor did he get the time to process what he was seeing.

This time he was faced with the woman from before but unlike before, she was glowing and a sad smile was painted on her face.

'Why is she glowing?'

"Thank you for everything, my beloved." she leaned in and kissed him, and for the first time since all this weird trial of sorts started, Subaru could see her face.

'Holy crap, a girl kissed me!'

She was the most beautiful woman Subaru had ever seen, everything about her screamed perfection to him.

The way her beautiful amethyst eyes shined captivated him, the way her silver hair danced in the wind excited him, the way the glow only heightening her beauty, making her look otherworldly.

"I love you." she declared for the last more time before she disappeared like a spirit.

'What… Just happened?'

The scene changed once more, leaving Subaru stunned and confused. His new environment was a room filled with books and he faced Shaula again but this time… her face wasn't blurred out.

He could see her green eyes with three additional red dots around her pupils as well as the sadness they hid.

"If Master wishes for it, then this first-class lady will defend the Watchtower until Master returns." she pledged with eyes shining full of determination.

'What Watchtower?'

The scene changed and Subaru found himself at the top of some sort of tower. He realized he was facing Volcanica but something changed, Subaru noticed that the dragon and the notable presence of a new mysterious white scar located directly underneath its jaw.

'Is this the tower that girl was talking about?'

"The contract is complete, Mineself shall serve as the final challenge for the Pleiades Watchtower." The dragon declared.

'Contract? Does that mean I've tamed him?'

The scene changed one final time, Subaru was sure of it. His new location is a tavern with Reid and like Shaula he wasn't blurred out.

"You truly are cruel, Flugel. Abandoning that child in the tower alone." he took a sip of alcohol, "You and I both know you'll never return to her, you." the man said, his blue eyes focusing solely on his cup as he took another sip of alcohol.

'Child?'

With a gasp and sweat all over his body, Subaru woke up with the answers to all his previous questions in an unfamiliar room with the bright rays of the morning sun hitting him.

"That was all a dream? '' He whispered to himself, 'what happened?' he tried to remember the last moments before he passed out.

'I was planning out my next moves starting with collecting the Lust and Pride Witch Factors When I suddenly…' The last thing he remembered before was feeling dizzy and exhausted all of a sudden.

Subaru quickly realized that he fell unconscious due to his body's exhaustion after it went through the process of dying and coming back to life. He knew how tiring the process could be since he had gone through it so much that he lost count. This whole time he had been running on adrenaline.

Subaru turned to the door that was now open and a man with ashen gray hair, sharp blue eyes, and fair skin tone, a green cloak with a green hat, and was holding a bowl. Subaru's eyes widened in surprise as he recognized who the man was.

'Otto? But what's he doing here?' Subaru quickly thought of using his new body to the fullest by acting like a child. It was his only hope of getting out without having his true identity revealed.

"Who are you mister?" he tried his best to sound like a confused child.

"You must be hungry, here eat this," He said as he held out the bowl of stew, "we can talk after you've eaten."

"T-thank you." Subaru sat up on the bed as he took the bowel, he was hesitant at first but decided to eat it. He knew Otto well and he knew that Otto wouldn't hurt a child, not without a reason at least.

The stew was the best meal he had eaten by a long shot for as long as he could remember. Otto watched as Subaru ate with delight, a hint of sadness and remorse in his eyes, and a look that suggested that he was contemplating something.

"Are you somehow related to Natsuki-san, Like his younger brother?" Otto finally asked the question that plagued his mind ever since he found the boy passed out on the edge of the village.

"Pfft" Subaru was caught off guard by the sudden question that he spit out the stew, "What makes you think that mister?"

"Judging by your reaction and appearance you are aren't you? You don't need to hide it." Despite his smile, Otto's eyes held deep regret as he spoke of his friend.

Subaru could use the confusion to his advantage but it wouldn't be worth it in the long run since Otto would most likely tell the Emilia camp of his existence and he couldn't have that. Not right now at least.

"It's just a coincidence!" Subaru quickly defended, "who is this "Natsuki-san" you speak of mister?" he added. He didn't know how long he had been in the OD Laguna but judging by Otto's older appearance, it had to be at least a few years, he needed to get as much information as possible.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Seeing the hesitation in Otto, Subaru quickly added.

"No, it's alright, I'll tell you. His tale is no secret so you're bound to find out either way. " Otto said as he composed himself, "He was a dear friend of mine and a hero to many that died 5 years ago for a sin he did not commit." Otto, regretting his lack of action during the time, filtered down the fine details since he did not want to scare the boy.

'5 years? That's a lot longer than expected, I wonder who won the Royal Selection.'

"What's your name?" Otto asked the boy with a friendly smile.

"My name?" Subaru paused for a moment before a smile split his face, "It's Alcor, no family name. What's your's mister?"

"My name is Otto Suwen and I run a shop around here," he said pridefully with a smile.

'Wasn't owning a shop his dream job?'

"Where are we -man?" Alcor tilts his head and scratches it as he foreign ignorance.

"You mean you don't know where you are?" Otto let out an exasperated sigh.

Alcor nodded in response to the ex-merchant. Of course, Alcor knew exactly where he but it would be suspicious if a kid you've never seen before came out of the woods with ma-beast chasing him, passed out, then immediately knew where he was.

"Right now we're in a small village located in the Dragon Kingdom of Lugnica," Otto explained to the "confused" boy.

Otto was a smart man and he suspected that the boy, Alcor, was smarter than he let on. The said boy was bad at acting ignorant or just acting in general, and after spending a year with a certain half-elf, he had gotten good at distinguishing real ignorance from fake.

He internally debated on whether he should confront the boy on his obvious lies or not but ultimately decided not to bring the subject to light. He doubted that Alcor was an assassin like Meili because of his terrible acting but he was still a mystery and Otto was sure he was somehow related to Subaru despite the boy denying it.

He decided then and there to look after the boy for now. It would be his way of repaying Subaru for everything he had done. If the boy was someone related to Subaru be it, sibling or cousin, Otto swore to himself to not repeat his sins as he had done with Subaru.

"It seems you don't have a place to stay, Alcor-san" Otto stated.

'What are you getting at, Otto?' It was true, Alcor didn't have shelter nor did he have a stable source of food, and he doubted anyone would hire kids.

"H-how did you know? Do you have some sort of mind-reading ability?" Alcor's face contorted to confusion as he faked shock and amazement.

"I wish I had an ability like that but sadly I don't," he refuted, "After I found you passed out on the edge of the village I used my Divine Blessing of Soul Language and asked the wildlife about you, and If you haven't already guessed it my divine blessing allows me to understand and talk any language including animals." Otto quickly explained as he studied Alcor's reaction and immediately got embarrassed.

Alcor's face quickly went from amazement to disappointment, "That sound's like a useless blessing." he retorted, "so what did the animals say about me?" Alcor was genuinely curious and wanted to know other's perspectives on his sudden revival.

"It's not like I wanted this ability, seriously are you sure you're not related to Natsuki-san? Not only do you look the same, but you also tease me as well!" otto whined.

"Wait, I look the same as him?" Alcor was so caught up in his thoughts last time that it went right past him.

Otto closed his eye and put a finger up as a smile rose on his face, "Well not exactly the same, Natsuki-san had black hair while you have white but other than that you look the same." As soon as Alcor heard his new hair color he stopped listening and only one thought came to mind as his eye's widened with horror.

'Oh great, white hair! I was having a bad enough time being isekai'd but now I'm also a generic anime protagonist' Alcor thought as he felt a chill down up his spine.

"Back to topic," Otto opened his eyes, "They said there was a sudden flash of light and then shortly after smoke appeared out of nowhere, and you ran out of the smoke at high speeds. You were so fast that a pack of Wolgrams couldn't keep up. And you passed out shortly after getting into the village." Otto summarized to the best of his abilities.

"I change my mind about the blessing, it's REALLY useful when you need to stalk someone." Alcor laughed as Otto fell into despair.

"OH COME ON! I BARELY EVEN USE IT!" was all Otto could say in an attempt to redeem himself which prompted Alcor to laugh harder.

"Back to the main topic, yes you're correct, I don't have a place I can call stay for now..." The Watchtower was out of reach for now and he didn't have money to get a night at the local inn.

"Then why don't you stay with me for the time being? I'll even hire you if you want." Otto offered. It wasn't much but he'll repay Alcor for everything he had done one way or another.

'So this is what you were going for eh Otto?' seeing as he didn't have a lot of options since he didn't have funds to travel nor did he know the locations of Capella and pride, he decided that accepting Otto's offer was his best course of action.

"I acc-" just as Alcor was about to accept Otto's offer.

*BOOM*

An explosion, though faint, could be heard with screaming following in pursuit. For a brief moment, Otto turned to face the direction of the explosion as both he and Subaru got up in unison.

Otto then returned his gaze to Alcor

"Stay here," he ordered, "I'll go check out what's happening." He didn't even wait for the boy's response as he dashed out of the room, leaving Alcor, saw facepalming.

Otto ran out of his shop and saw people fighting and realized that a raid was taking place and since no one could fight back, they were losing.

Otto may not have been strong but that didn't exactly mean he was weak. He knew some earth magic and if that wasn't enough, he could use his Divine Blessing and ask the wildlife for assistance or even communicate with the lesser spirits and form a temporary contract.

"El dona!" he cast a spell towards a well-built bandit only wearing pants in front of him who was about to kill a wounded man, but the bandit notices the attack and dodges with ease.

"Phew, that was a close one." he mocked as he pointed his sword at Otto, " Now who the hell are you?" he barked.

"He's a local shop owner." the voice of a young man ringed from behind Otto, a voice he recognized.

He quickly turned towards the direction of the voice, Alcor, who was scanning the area, and muttered "20" before walking towards a man with a wounded right arm and claiming said man's sword, and turned back to Otto.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? I TOLD YOU TO STA-" Otto was cut off when Alcor dashed at him and he felt wind magic pushing him to the side and he heard-

*Clang*

The sound of swords clashing rang. 'What just happened?' the confused Otto thought as turned back to where he was, his eyes honing in on the bandit and Alcor facing each other.

Alcor pushed away the bandit's sword with his own before giving a once over to the attacker. "That was quite dirty of you. Attacking someone who wasn't even facing you," said Alcor, a jaded expression as he addressed the smirking bandit.

"It was his fault for turning his back on the enemy," stated the bandit as he observed Alcor with interest.

The bandit shrugged his shoulders, seemingly amused by the situation. His smirk turned into a slight smile as he nodded his head at the expressionless Alcor.

"I'm impressed you managed to deflect my attack, and at such a young age," the bandit remarked praising the boy in front of him, "Why don't you join my crew? we could use someone like you."

Alcor signed, annoyed at the bandit leader's nonchalant behavior "I refuse because you guys are weak." Alcor deadpanned, mimicking the bandit's earlier actions and shrugging his shoulders.

Now it was the bandit leader's turn to get mad at the nonchalance the boy showed, which he perceived as disrespect.

"If that's what you want, didn't take ya for a fool," the bandit replied, taking a few steps back. He narrowed his eyes, a cocky grin plastered on his face as he stared down Alcor who looked up at him, still unamused.

Suddenly the bandit raised his hands in the air. Before Otto could ask what he was doing, the bandit shouted to nothing, particularly "GATHER UP BOYS!" the bandit commanded.

Suddenly, all the other bandits gathered around him. The bandit was not dumb enough to fight someone that was able to deflect his attack with ease by himself, so the only option was to rush him as a team.

Even if he was strong, he could not possibly defeat 20 men at once, such was the conclusion the bandit arrived at. Alcor however, remained unfazed as more bandits popped up to surround the leader.

After they all gathered, a slight smirk appeared on his face as he addressed the gang "Thanks for that, now I won't have to run after you now that you're all in one location." Alcor confidently boasted.

"Why you little bra-" the bandit stopped himself when he felt his right hand hurt badly for a split second before turning into a warm throbbing pain. He pulled his hand up and his eyes widened in horror as he realized his hand had been cut off.

"AHH-." he screamed before he was forcibly silenced by Alcor, his blood splattering on the ground and his men. It took a moment for it to set in but the rest of the bandits who were watching felt fear arise within them when this-this monster cleanly cut off the head of their leader with ease.

"1 down, 19 more to go." Alcor jaded. The bandits were tempted to run away, but it would be the ultimate blow to their pride if they ran from a child, so they all attacked at once.

'He is still just a child and he used a sneak attack on the boss, plus we still have the numbers advantage.' was the thought process of the bandits.

Alcor sliced bandit 1 across his chest then using his small body to its fullest ducked to dodge bandit 2's sideswipe before rolling to the left to avoid bandit 3's downward slash.

'My movement feels sluggish, probably the side effect of reincarnating into someone else's body.' Alcor thought as he thrust his blade into bandit 3's chest.

Alcor seeing an opening, with a single slash opened the guts of bandits 2 and 4 before jumping back and dodging a coordinated barrage of attacks, getting hit a few times in the process.

Otto watched the one-sided massacre with shock. He knew Alcor was strong when he heard from the Zodda bugs that he could outrun a pack of Wolgram's with ease, but this was insane.

His shock faded into sadness, 'This is just...wrong. He's just a child yet… he seems soo used to fighting and killing. He must have had it rough. To be able to kill without hesitation…'

Otto continued to watch as Alcor killed the bandits one by one. The bandits that once numbered 20 were reduced to 2. Alcor has a few cuts on his face and arms but nothing major.

One of the bandits ran as Alcor got behind bandit 18 and grabbed him by the mouth before cutting his throat. He then turned to the bandit that ran away, his void eyes flared with rage.

The final bandit had a smug smirk while he used the same wounded man that Subaru took the sword from as a hostage.

"Drop your weapon if you don't want to see this guy's corpse." the bandit ordered. Seeing the fear in the man's eyes, Alcor sighed as he dropped his sword.

The bandit began laughing as he made his way towards Alcor, hostage in hand. "Not so tough without your sw-" the bandit stopped when he noticed Alcor's wounds disappeared and a smirk forming on his face.

"Wait a minute, you look the Hero, the same one the Queen's been building statues of." the bandit said.

'Did Emilia win the throne?' He thought, "You forgot I'm not the only one here!" Alcor said, pointing to where Otto was, the bandit's eyes widened as he turned to face Otto.

"El Dona" Otto, was snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the situation.

The attack hit the bandit on the head and he died instantly, his blood and brain matter raining down from the sky.

Alcor then walked towards the hostage. The said man tried to crawl back, fear present in his eyes.

"He won't hurt you," Otto tried to ease up the man as he made his way towards the duo.

He wasn't 100% sure if what he said was true or not, but judging from what he had seen so far and his interactions with Alcor, he trusted the boy wouldn't hurt innocents.

"W-what do you want?" the man questioned the motive of the boy he witnessed kill 19 people with ease.

"I can heal you," Alcor said as he placed his hand on the man's right arm and said hand glowed blue. The man his body grow easy as the pain surrounding his arm slowly dissipated and his wound healed.

The man was shell-shocked by the sudden change in the boy's personality, one moment he was massacring a bunch of men with no emotion the next he was healing some stranger with soft eyes.

"W-who are you? And why do you look so much like the Hero? Are you somehow related to him?" the man asked for the identity of this strange boy.

"Alcor and my appearance is just a coincidence." He responded as he got up turned to Otto.

"I accept your offer, Boss." he said with a small smile.

The next chapter will take place 2 months after Subaru started working for Otto.
