Stretching his arms as a morning routine, his hand suddenly grasped something soft and warm.
"Huh? What's… this…" He looked to his left and noticed the blue-haired girl asleep next to him. She was entirely naked while Subaru's hand was accidentally grabbing her breast.
He put his hand away, instead looking at her cute visage before deciding to wake her up.
"Rem," he called out to her with a smile, but the girl was unmoving.

Subaru looked at the blue-haired girl next to him with wide eyes.
Oh shit! Rem was sleeping here so her sister must've gotten worried… But I can't just say that she's right here, she'll seriously kill me! Subaru's thoughts were running on overdrive, trying to find something to tell the pink-haired girl.
Out of nowhere, Rem grabbed Subaru's shoulder while looking into his eyes.
"It'll be alright," she whispered, calming Subaru down.
The boy breathed out before answering Ram.
"Yeah, I think I saw Rem somewhere around the guest rooms?" Subaru lied to the girl as this was the best thing he could come up with.
"Guest rooms?" Ram repeated with a confused tone.
"Y-Yeah! Rem is a really hard worker. She must've woken up early just to clean the guest rooms!" Subaru quickly answered, his heart beating fast. If Ram decided to open the door like the bold girl she is, Subaru didn't think she'd like what she'd see.
"I see," Ram replied.
"Huh?" Subaru mumbled under his nose.
"It wouldn't be the first time my sister would do something like that," she continued.
Subaru nodded, "Ah, yeah. Rem is an awesome, hard-working girl," he agreed with Ram so she'd go away quicker.
"Anyway, if you happen to see Rem, tell her to kindly come and help her sister with the breakfast," she finished before leaving, not leaving a moment for Subaru to respond.
Both of them loudly sighed as the maid finally left.

Subaru was frozen as he looked at the door for a few more seconds, then, he shook his head to get out of his trance. "I better get ready too." He stood up from the bed, grabbing his black and orange tracksuit.
"Ah! Good morning, Subaru!" The first one to greet Subaru was the silver-haired girl.
"Hello, Emilia-tan. Did you sleep well?" the boy asked with a bright smile.

"Well, I'm sure Rem and Ram have finished cooking. We can go ahead and get something," Subaru offered.

"Hi, Ram. I guess we're having bacon for breakfast?" he asked with a smile.
"Right. Today we have bacon with eggs," she replied.
"Good… I'm hungry." Subaru's stomach growled. He decided to go to the table and sit down, taking the great view of all the various food into his eyes.
Out of nowhere, the blue-haired maid sat down next to Subaru, while Emilia followed her and sat to Subaru's right.
"Subaru-kun, let Rem feed you," she smiled with a fork in her hand.
"What?! No! I wanted to feed Subaru!" Emilia argued. She did it yesterday and enjoyed it, so why should Rem do it instead?
"Now, now, please calm down," Subaru tried talking to the girls, but they ignored him.
"Emilia-sama, I believe Subaru-kun isn't owned by anyone. I offered myself to feed him first, too bad you weren't fast enough," Rem spat as she gazed at the half-elf.
"Alright, that's enough!" Subaru's voice resounded in the dining room, quieting down the pair.
"If you can't get along, then I'll just feed myself." Subaru gave them an ultimatum, their eyes wide.
"B-But why?!" Emilia inquired with a sad tone.
Subaru deeply sighed. "Emilia-tan, if you won't get along with Rem, then I… then I won't allow you to do this anymore," Subaru finished while looking at the girl.
Emilia was seemingly thinking when her voice finally called out. "A-Alright… I'm so sorry, Rem. I don't know what got over me." She raised her hand, which Rem gladly took in her own.
"It's alright, Emilia-sama. Rem has gone way out of line too," the blue-haired girl admitted as she shook the girl's hand.
Subaru observed the pair with a wide smile. "Now then, let's get to eating," he said. "But if you girls want to feed me so much, why don't you just take turns?" he proposed.
The girl's eyes widened at the idea, nodding at the boy.
The trio of Rem, Subaru, and Emilia sat in their chairs, bellies full.
"That was good. Ram, Rem, you outdid yourselves again," he complimented their work.
"Naturally, Subaru-kun!" the blue-haired girl enthusiastically replied with a smile.
Ram turned around to see Subaru. "Hah, I don't need your recognition, Barusu. My cooking is always perfect," she answered.
The boy simply sighed while mumbling, "Yeah, yeah."
He stood up from his chair. "Well then. I had some time in this mansion, but I've still yet to look around the surroundings," he said to himself, but the girls around him heard.
"Do you want me to go with you, Subaru-kun?" Rem asked as she came up to him.
The boy simply shook his head. "Nah, Rem, I can handle it," he came up to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "Once I return, I'll come to you for some treatment though," he winked at the red-faced girl.
"A-Ah. You can count on me," she smiled.
The silver-haired half-elf overheard their conversation and so she decided to join in.
"Subaru? What treatment do you mean? Are you hurt? Do you want me to take a look?" She started asking question after question as if she was a mother taking care of her child.
Subaru's cheeks turned red. "N-No, Emilia-tan, it's nothing you need to concern yourself about," he said, but the girl didn't seem to entirely believe him.
Emilia squinted her eyes, but in the end, she went along with him. "Hmm, alright. But I'll keep my eye on you, mister," she finished.
"Ahh, nothing's better than a quick walk after breakfast," Subaru stated while stretching his hands.
"There was a forest nearby, I'd like to check it out," he said to himself.
There was a village called Arlam close to the mansion Subaru resided in. It was built next to a forest but apparently, animals cursed by the Witch live there.
Just a folk story. What bad could happen if I just had a quick look? Subaru thought with a grin as he approached the forest. Its giant trees already in sight.
Walking for a few more minutes, the boy finally stood in front of the forest.
"Wow, it's bigger than I thought," Subaru said while looking at its giant trees.
"Hmm, should I go inside?" he asked himself. "Of course I should," he grinned.
Entering the forest, the temperature suddenly dropped as no sunlight was visible because of the tree's giant leaves blocking the sky.
The black-haired boy wasn't prepared for this because he suddenly started trembling. He wasn't getting good feelings from this at all.
"I should… I should probably just head back. This was a bad idea," Subaru assessed. He turned around and wanted to start walking back from where he came from, but a sole animal with black fur stood in his path.
"A wolf?" he asked as he looked at it.
It slowly approached him while baring its teeth. Subaru wasn't prepared to defend himself at all. Instead, he chose to run away.
He wasn't too deep into the forest so after a minute of running, he finally saw the way he came from.
Looking behind himself, the wolf was getting closer and closer every second.
Damn it! That beast is catching up. If this goes for a minute longer, I'll be food! He thought. His breathing was ragged as he slowly started losing his stamina. In the end, Subaru wasn't sure if the animal would stop chasing him once they get out of the forest, so he held out to this tiny glint of hope.
He was already outside the forest, the sun warming him up.
Am I saved? He thought for a moment. But even that was instantly destroyed as he tripped over a rock, falling to the ground.
"Ugh!" he groaned.
Looking back behind him, the beast still ran towards him, and once it was close enough, it jumped, aiming for Subaru's face.
I don't want to die.
He closed his eyes, accepting his fate. He was dumb to ever go to that forest.
A sound came out as if something hard hit a lump of meat and blood splashing around. Yet Subaru didn't feel anything.
He decided to open his eyes out of curiosity. He was supposed to be wolf meat by now.
As his sight adjusted to the light, he saw the beast laying in a pool of blood, a morning star stuck inside it.
"Subaru-kun! Are you alright?" He knew that voice. It was the blue-haired maid he adored so much.
"R-Rem?" he called out to her, confused.
The maid simply nodded. "Are you hurt somewhere?" she asked. "Let me take a look." She didn't wait for his answer, instead choosing to use healing magic on his entire being.
"N-No… I mean, I hurt my leg but nothing happened," he said. He was pretty quiet so the girl had to strain her ears to hear him properly. The emotions that prevailed in his mind were confusion and fear. Up until now, he thought he could do anything as the chosen one to be brought into another world, but a mere wolf almost bit his face off a moment ago.
"There, all patched up," Rem sighed. "Can you walk, Subaru-kun?" she asked with a worried tone.
The boy tried standing up, but his leg hurt too much and so he crashed back to the ground.
"No… Sorry, Rem. I just wanted to go for a walk, but I made more work for you…" Subaru said with a sad tone.
The blue-haired maid shook her head with a smile. "Jeez, what am I gonna do with you, Subaru-kun?" she laughed for a moment before slowly picking the boy up.
"W-Whoa, Rem," he breathed out at the girl's unexpected strength. She was an oni through and through.
"Don't worry, Rem wants to do this for you, Subaru-kun," she warmly smiled at the boy before taking him to the mansion.
After a few minutes, Rem and Subaru finally entered the mansion.
No one was in sight which was good because Subaru didn't want anyone to see him in this pathetic state.
"Rem, could you bring me to my room, please?" Subaru asked, still in her arms.
The blue-haired girl nodded. "Of course, Subaru-kun,"
As they walked up the stairs, the boy kept looking around to see if someone was nearby, but the mansion was empty. Emilia must be studying, Felt is either playing in her room with Beatrice, or with Emilia, and finally, Roswaal must be on another business trip or he's doing something with Ram. In the end, Subaru deeply sighed. And before he knew it, the pair stood in front of Subaru's room.
Rem entered the room with Subaru hand in hand and gently laid him onto the bed.
"Argh… Thanks, Rem." Subaru groaned, his leg still hurt.
The girl sat next to him. "Let Rem massage it, Subaru-kun. It'll feel better," she cooed with a warm smile.
