Lao Tzu Hi. If you're reading this, then I'm assuming you've clicked on my profile name through my story, so I'll keep this concise to save you time. I've read quite a number of fan fiction stories in my day but I've never actually written one, so, over the years, ideas and vague plotlines had begun to pop in my head, mostly with what I wanted to find in the stories I've read. Here is a list that I will (hopefully) get to when I start posting more stories. Also, you'll find a strict NO HAREMS from me. Story covers by the artist: WLOP Potential stories for the future. Vote above for stories that most appeal to you. Titles and summaries subject to change. Know No Fear (RWBY and the Nasuverse)— Velvet Scarlatina had always wanted to be a Huntress. Inspired by the stories of her ancestor, she took it upon herself to continue the family legacy and return glory back to the name. Dejected and lacking in talent, her efforts yielded poor results until she was given an old, leather-bound journal from her ill mother. Written by a nameless author, it tells the exploits of her descendant and his comrades. A journal that later becomes the core of her world and her newfound power. Upon her mother's passing, Velvet inherits the family heirloom: her ancestor's journal. In it tells the adventure of her forefather and his compatriots, written from the perspective of the unknown author. Reading towards the end, she gains further knowledge of the world: old fears beyond mortal ken, and history, unlike anything she's ever known. Despite the dark and compelling revelations written on those pages, this was a story of hope. One she was determined to repeat—if only to save the world. Carpe Noctem (RWBY and Final Fantasy Versus XIII/XV)— It is said that to be a Schnee is to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. Of responsibility... and privilege. Privilege that afforded her family with almost royal prestige—and with prestige: admiration. Soft-spoken, yet assertive; candid, yet diplomatic—she was Niflheim's budding sylleblossom. But there was a sharpness in her gaze—thorn-like icicles beneath the blues of her eyes. But such coldness only added to her reputation to those whom had met her. A perfect heiress, they would say; one destined to lead their great nation to further heights. So when she volunteered herself for the student exchange program with their rival nation, it sent shock waves across Gralean high society. You see, there was more to this exchange program than most could understand. No, to her, the Kingdom of Lucis—the Kingdom of the Night—was where she would finally find the answers to her visions. Visions of death, gates, angels, and unearthly light. Because ever since that day, the shadows have loomed ever ominously. Weiss Schnee took a deep breath—and made her first step towards Beacon. A fusion of the worlds of RWBY and Final Fantasy Versus XIII through the eyes of Weiss Schnee, reborn from Versus's unused character, Stella Nox Fleuret. A reinterpretation of what could have been: a fantasy based on reality. Paradigm (High School DxD and Diablo)— Cast down, he finds himself in a new world without purpose. An ancient being that only knew conflict, only to slowly grow fascinated with the world around him. A world of tenuous peace and yet, he couldn't find it in himself to truly enjoy it. In his wanderings, he uncovers proof of the supernatural and clues of a conflict that has occurred since the dawn of time. Brandishing his mighty spear once more, the world shall finally know the true meaning of Valor. Cast down from the High Heavens, Imperius ends up in the DxD universe. Able to retain his full Angelic state with a repaired Solarion, the Angel of Valor wanders the world in secret for a time and without a purpose. It wasn't until one day he encounters odd events at a little-known town of Kuoh that has him questioning things he had never thought to possible. Witness as a powerful Archangel that does not follow the teachings of God pursue his own whims under the bafflement of a watching Heaven. Ordinary (High School DxD)— This is a story about an ordinary boy with an ordinary high school experience, hoping, fantasizing beyond the confines of his average life for something more. Unnoticed and unremarkable, he tries, in his own ways, to break through this barrier, but all it does is push him away from his classmates. You see, even as he's thrown into a situation that changes his life forever, he can do nothing but be average. And though he's surrounded by the extraordinary, this ordinary boy will soon show this world his inordinary destiny. Issei Hyoudou has always been just there. Despite being an extrovert, no one in his life seemingly pays more attention to him than they should. Understandably, he begins to feel lonely as he lacks any real relationships in his life. Even after the discovery of his Sacred Gear, the ORC that takes him in treats him just the same as everyone else. Through the endearment of his personality and the surprising complexity of his soul does he slowly begin to gain the basic desires every human being possesses: connections. The Weight of the World (RWBY and NieR:Replicant/Automata)— In a lone tower stood a man; his eyes gazed out the window as he slowly sipped his coffee in silent rumination. Behind every great Headmaster is a tale of tragedy. Aishiteru (Re:Zero, Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA, and Fate/Stay Night)— You... are the light of my life. Every day I see you—watch you. Your gentle laughs, your quiet hums, your tender eyes, you are everything to me. Ever since that day, the day you saved me, I couldn't help but fall for you. So I watched, knowing every step you've taken on your path. But watching was all I was doing. This is why I'll do what you did for me: to reach out my hand and to hold you tight, because you deserve it. You really, really do. So please, Shirou, please, take my hand—and let me save you too. A perfectly normal teenage boy finds himself transported to another world while out on a grocery run. To Be Like Them (RWBY)— She thought she knew all there was to the world. An arrogant thought for sure, from everything she's seen—she's done—the world hardly surprised her anymore. But there were moments in life that would not only prove her wrong but have her thoughts linger on the question, Why? As her mind wandered, the winds from the bullhead rose in a crescendo and she found herself standing in front of her new employer. Grey, almost silverish hair, and a look that mimicked the old nobles, he was just as she remembered him. Pushing her doubts aside, she smirked and took a charming step forward to meet him. It would be rude to keep the Headmaster of Beacon waiting, wouldn't it? Beacon Academy. The school of heroes. Led by the well-known and long-lived Headmaster, Ozpin, it was said to be the most prestigious of the three academies. Its hallowed halls had seen the rise of many future heroes in the making—warriors of the light that would dedicate their lives to combating the darkness. It is a place loved by all—but not to her. To her, it was just another job—a debt to fulfill for a life saved. A lore re-imagining of RWBY centered around Beacon's newest professor, one named Cinder Fall. The Last Phantasm (Diablo and Fate/Stay Night)— Many thought Leah's soul was forever lost after the Black Soulstone was forced upon her. Not even Diablo's slayer was able to overcome the single prime evil housed within him, let alone all of them in one such as herself. But in the precipice of the battle between the Nephalem and The Prime Evil, a miracle occurred in the depths of her soul. It was a sword appearing when it was needed. A golden blade with an unknown scripture etched at its base. It is said that The Light was a providence of the angels alone, that even mortals who wielded it were mere channelers of their might, their blood too diluted from their demonic heritage to house. No, despite all of the world's evils that would readily prey upon them, and the darkness that resided within their hearts, they too possess a glimmer of hope. A Light of Man's own making—forever forging dreams of a promised victory. Breaking the tethers that bind them, humanity must forge a sanctuary of their own making. One of an ever-distant utopia. Deus Ex Machina (Mass Effect and Starcraft)— They came out of nowhere. Like a swarm, it took almost no time for them to appear at every major system in the galaxy. Every defense we mustered, every soldier called to duty, was nearly overwhelmed at their presence. They did not negotiate. They did not slow. They never even told us a name. But somehow, suspiciously, high command knew what they were. Reapers, they would call them. Like it matters now. Conspiracy theories aside, the fight was still escalating, even a few months in the war. But here I am. On this ship, running away from the frontlines. Running away from my duty. I may not be the best example of a turian, but dammit, even someone like me has something to protect. But maybe, just maybe... that was the point. Being on this ship filled with refugees from all corners of the galaxy, I can at least rise up to the call for them. Besides, that Council spook, Nihlus, is here, so thank the spirits for that. Barely escaping with their lives, Garrus Vakarian had almost no time to think when he and a ship of a few thousand refugees were forced to warp away from their pursuers. Turians, asari, salarians, terrans, hanar, elcor, even a few quarians and drell, all stuffed together in a single ship to escape the encroaching apocalypse. And while quick thinking and random warp jumps saved their lives, it was times like these that reminded them just how big their galaxy truly is. Now they find themselves at the heart of an empire, negotiating with a civilization that was thought to be lost to time. Garrus could only hope that this "United Earth Directorate" were like the terrans he knew. Jaune Wick (RWBY and John Wick)— "I once saw him kill three men in a club... with a pencil, with a fucking pencil." – Hei "Junior" Xiong, probably. Jaune was an odd child. From his earliest years, his family had always found him watching their training segments, wide-eyed, and eerily focused. Even when placed in his cradle, with the door firmly shut and the baby monitor monitoring ever watchful, he had always found a way to slip through their notice and observe them. But other than those little oddities, he grew to be a good boy—a fine boy, even. Sure, there were moments when he would say things seemed beyond his years, but other than that, he had never done anything that truly warranted suspicion. But with an odd curiosity with weapons and their training, his family feared that he would one day beg to be like them—but thankfully that time never came. So when he grew too old to ever hopefully begin a life as a huntsman they simply let him ask his questions and watch from the sidelines. Because you see, Jaune Arc was a good boy—a little strange at times, but he was a good boy. One a huntsman family could be proud of despite growing up to be a "normal" person. The first, they believed, would become more than just a warrior. And he was content to live that way too, but John had forgotten one thing: that no matter when and where, if one would desire peace, then they must first prepare for war. Irredeemable (RWBY and Rurouni Kenshin)— He wasn't always like this. At one point in his life, he was even optimistic, despite how he lived most of his youth in those dark, Schnee mines. But slowly, inevitably, even his early optimism couldn't find the light against the injustice that had surrounded him. Even so, he held on, believing that one day, things would get better for them all. But it never did. If only... if only they would listen. If only they could. And before he realized it, that youthful optimism turned into ruthless determination. As he grew older, the world revealed more of its hideous self. A world where they were more than willing to silence their voice with brutality. So he 'talked' to them in the only language they were capable of understanding. With every swing, he would harden his heart; with every death, he would look them in the eyes. His ruthlessness would see him through the ranks. But he was just one soul. One soul that brokered nothing more than two things in his life: the Mission, and Her. Like him, she too changed from when they had first met. He just pushed the thought aside until that fateful day, when her amber eyes told him just how much different she had become. 'Your hopes have become my burden,' by then, she, 'I—' Blake, '—will find my own liberation'... was gone. It began after that fateful mission. Memories of an unknown past suddenly flooded his mind. Since then, he double-downed on his work, pushing aside her betrayal and the strange visions. But as time moved forward, he couldn't help but play out that scene again and again in his mind. Coupled with the ever intrusive hallucinations, he knew he had to pull himself back from it all before he fell apart. A story of redemption, self-love, and hope for one of RWBY's most hated characters. THERE WILL BE BLOOD (High School DxD and Bleach)— Asia Argento was a kind, young girl. All throughout her life, she was sought after, far and wide, for her God-given ability to heal others. And while her healing abilities were lauded as a miracle, her true strength came from the compassion that exuded from her personality. As for someone so young, it was her tireless efforts that had made the world a little brighter. Yes, Asia Argento was a kind, young girl. Despite her naivety and innocence, she knew her place—someone who must always heal. That is why she must be kept here—ever the kind and compassionate maiden. Because if she were to ever leave, then the world will never be ready... for what she truly is. The brightest lights cast the darkest shadows. Lightbringers (Final Fantasy XIV)— “For those we have left behind, and for those we can still yet save.” – Minfilia A novelization of Final Fantasy XIV's A Realm Reborn to Endwalker focused on the hyur midlander in the trailers as the basis for the story. Current Stories In the Arms of Eternity (Mass Effect and the Nasuverse)— To say Councilor Tevos had an interesting career was like saying Krogans are a little aggressive—simply an understatement. Throughout her long life, she lived through terrorist attacks, kidnappings, mercenary life, corporate wars, threats to galactic stability, and perhaps the most important of them all, humanity's arrival to the galactic stage. Ah yes, the humans. Not even 30 years since first contact and they had already made quite an impression on the galaxy. Their accomplishments during that short time along with their rapid ascent and acknowledgment within the Council was something to be admired, and even wary of. To the turians, their ability to match their forces head-on, despite their technological inferiority during the Relay 314 Incident, brought them a rare, proper distinction. To the salarians, their rapid intake of technologies and bold attempts to challenge their covert operations earned them nearly palpable respect. To the asari... their very discovery rocked them to the core. She was no different in that regard, but it was for entirely different reasons. Because to her, they were a race to whom he belonged to. A white-haired human that saved her life so, so long ago. Tevos Naraius spent most of her life clawing for her position—ruining lives and making enormous sacrifices to finally have it all: a powerful family, friends in all the right places, and the main representative of her entire species. But ever since the appearance of humanity, memories from long ago came rushing back. So she used her position to push them into the forefront, just for the chance to see him, no matter how impossible it may seem. And if she had to sacrifice everything she's worked her whole life to achieve... she would do it in a heartbeat. A dark AU (Alternative Universe) inspired by College Fool's Renegade Reinterpretations, LogicalPremise's "Premiseverse," and elements of the SCP Foundation. A galaxy that seems closer to the utopia of Star Trek at its uppermost layer, where its citizens live blissfully unaware of the sheer callousness and dark undertones ruled by competing intelligence agencies, horrific experiments, conspiracies, and the fight for racial supremacy that had been ongoing for thousands of years. And yet, unseen to even their impressive eyes lay the Moonlit World, where magic, mysteries, and gods rule. It is said that doing the right isn't always easy. This is especially true for those who have power, and in this universe filled with cold pragmatism and unchecked cruelty—that very idea may yet be their salvation. Of Blood and Snow (High School DxD and the Nasuverse)— Red and blue. Dark and light. The world had always fallen through the lens of dual meanings, but when people from the other side find themselves in the grips of the past, old wounds threaten to break the balance. Now all hell has broken loose as one must be forced to choose. Welcome to the age of wolves—where beliefs are flipped, monsters rush in, and even angels fear to tread. It's in the primacy of our lives that we eventually derive our purpose. But when we must claw to the surface of our shadows, does life truly bequeath us a grand stage. Ideals are then made to clash and in the throes of our passions can change truly begin. |
