Summary: Naruto loses her chakra and is forced to become a civilian but instead of staying in Konoha she goes to the world of Pokemon to become a Pokemon Trainer where she meets new allies and new foes. Chapter 01
A New Beginning
"What do we tell her Tsunade-hime?" aske a tall man with long spiky hair.
"The truth Jiraiya. She would hate us if we tried to lie to her." replied a shorter woman with blonde hair done into pigtails.
"She won't be happy with it." Jiraiya said.
"I know but we can't hide this from her." Tsunade said with a sigh.
Uzumaki Naruto sat in her hospital room in a wheelchair looking out over Konoha. She had just woken up in the Konoha Shinobi Hospital and was told she couldn't leave until she spoke to Tsunade, the reigning Hokage. Naruto had a nasty scar on her left shoulder from where Sasuke had raun her through with his Chidori and she couldn't feel any of her normal chakra nor could she feel the Kyubi.
Naruto heard the door open behind her and she turned the wheel of her wheelchair to face the door. When she got turned around she saw Jiraiya and Tsunade enter her room.
"Hey Baa-chan from the look on your face I guess you don't have good news to tell me." Naruto said, looking at Tsunade.
"Naruto there is no way to make what I have to tell you easy." Tsunade said.
"What is it Baa-chan?" Naruto asked.
Tsunade sighed and closed her eyes bracing herself mentally for what she had to say. "The truth is your chakra network has been completely destroyed. It's beyond even my capabilities to repair."
"Is that why I can't feel the Kyubi?" Naruto asked.
"More than likely." Tsunade said.
"So my life as a kunoichi is over then." Naruto said not asking.
"Yes it is." Tsunade said.
Naruto turned back around in her wheelchair. "How long until I can be released."
"Without your chakra and the Kyubi to heal your wounds, a month." Tsunade replied to the question.
"Baa-chan, can you bring Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Hinata, and Neji to my room?" Naruto asked.
"Sure gaki." Tsunade said not questioning the names listed.
Tsunade turned to leave the room leaving Jiraiya alone with his goddaughter.
"Sensei once spoke of a ship that can take people out of the Elemental Nations. He wanted to send you on that ship once when you were a kid after he saw how you were treated." Jiraiya said. "I can probably get you a safe passage on that ship."
"Ero-sennin, I want you to find the bastard who did this to me and kill him." Naruto said coldly.
"Hai gaki." Jiraiya said seriously.
Jiraiya remained quiet; he knew Naruto was beyond words in anger; her dream had been ripped from her. He couldn't even begin to imagine the pain she felt at being denied the chance to have her dreams come true.
The two remained silent until the door opened and in walked Tsunade with Ino, Shikamaru, Choji, Hinata, and Neji following behind her. As the group entered they all saw Naruto in her wheelchair.
"Naruto, why did you ask for us?" Ino asked worried for her best friend.
"I asked for you five because you are all my friends and deserve to know the truth. I can no longer be a kunoichi. My chakra network has been completely destroyed beyond repair. I will be released from the hospital in a month's time once I have fully recovered from my injuries then I will be leaving the Elemental Nations." Naruto explained. "I don't much care what Baa-chan tells the public of Konoha but you five devered the truth."
"Naru-chan, what can we do?" Hinata asked.
"Never forget me once I leave Konoha I will not be coming back so I ask that you keep me in your hearts and memories." Naruto said.
Neji walked forward and leaned in and kissed Naruto on the lips.
"I will miss you watashi no ai." Neji said. "I can't go with you so I ask that you let me go and find love wherever it is you end up."
"I will Neji-kun." Naruto said.

A month passed and Naruto was released from the Shinobi Hospital having made a full recovery, if you don't count her chakra network. Naruto had packed her go bag with her ninja clothes which consisted of a two piece black bodysuit, a burnt orange jacket, white socks, and black shoes. She left her ninja gear behind as she no longer needed it. After packing Naruto met Team Ten at the main gate leading out of Konoha they were on their way to the port near the bottom of Hi no Kuni to see Naruto off on her journey.
The trip to the port took longer than expected because Naruto had to stop more frequently due to fatigue since she no longer had access to her chakra. Once at the port Naruto and her friends made their way to the ship that was to take Naruto. After saying their goodbyes Naruto boarded the ship and made her way to her her room to settle in before exploring the ship.
The ship wasn't very big; it was more of a cargo ship than a luxury liner but it also had the elements of a luxury liner meaning it was both a cargo ship and ferry. The trek across the ocean was around a month long and it made stops along the way both to drop cargo and pick up more, which is why it took so long. The Ship finally arrived at its final destination, the port town of Vermilion City.
Naruto got off the ship and walked into the port building where she saw an older man with a sign that read her name. Naruto made her way to the man and smiled.
"Hello senpai may I ask how you know my name since i only just arrived in this country?" Naruto asked.
"My name is Samuel Oak. As far as for how I know of you, I received a letter from my old friend Jiraiya via messenger toad. He explained what happened to you and I am truly sorry to hear about that." oak said.
"You know Ero-sennin?" Naruto asked.
"Amusing title for him." Oak said. "But yes I know him."
"So where am I?" Naruto asked.
"Vermilion City of the Kanto Region." Oak replied. "Kanto is one of eight known Pokemon Regions."
"What's a Pokemon?" Naruto asked.
Oak moved his lab coat to reveal a red and white ball on his belt and grabbed it. He then tossed the ball and out came a tall orange dragon like pokemon.
"Meet Dragonite, a dragon pokemon, one of the many pokemon you'll meet across the pokemon regions." Oak said.
"That's wicked cool so what can these pokemon do?" Naruto asked.
"Each pokemon has one or two types of the eighteen types. Dragonite is a Dragon and Flying type pokemon." Oak said. "Come climb on Dragonite's back and we can get back to my lab and we can get you started on your very own pokemon journey."
Naruto climbed on the dragon's back followed by Professor Oak. Once both were on Dragonite's back the pokemon took off into the sky and began to fly toward its destination, Pallet Town.
A short while later the pokemon landed in front of a yellow building with a red roof. Dismounting the pokemon Naruto looked at the building in awe.
"This is where you work?" Naruto asked.
"Yes . I'm a pokemon researcher." Oak replied.
"Hey Oji-san, I want to learn more about these pokemon. How can I do that?" Naruto asked.
"Well for starters you need a partner pokemon and a pokedex. The Pokedex is a wonderful thing that can tell you about any pokemon you meet." Oak replied.
As Naruto and Professor Oak walked into the lab they saw two teens. One was wearing a black t-shirt with blue cargo pants. The other was wearing a red and black button up shirt with blue jeans.
"Ah Red and Blue I see you got here early."
"Hey Gramps. Who's the girl?" the boy named Blue asked.
"My name is Uzumaki Naruto. It's a pleasure to meet you." Naruto said introducing herself.
"Gary Oak, though my friends and family call me Blue." Blue said. "This is Ash Ketchum though everyone calls him Red."
"Hey there." Red said.
"Boys Naruto is new to Kanto so I want you two to help her out while on your journeys." Oak said.
"No problem, gramps." Blue said.
"Now I believe it's time to get you all started on your journey's." Oak said. "First take the rotom phones. They have the Pokedex, a town map, and other helpful features."
The three teens all took a rotom phone. Red took the red phone, Blue took the blue phone and Naruto took the green phone.
"Now I have three pokemon here." Oak said as he tossed three pokeballs from his belt. "The First is Bulbasaur the grass type pokemon, second is Charmander the fire type pokemon, and lastly is Squirtle the water type Pokemon."
"Naruto you pick first you're new and all." Blue said.
"I think I will choose Bulbasaur." Naruto said.
As Naruto approached the green pokemon her pokedex came out and hovered in front of her.
"Bulbasaur the Seed Pokemon. While it is young, it uses the nutrients that are stored in the seed on its back in order to grow." the pokedex said.
"That is so cool." Naruto said.
Red approached Charmander and knelt down. "I'll take Charmander."
Blue walked up to the tiny turtle pokemon. "And that leaves Squirtle for me. Luckily Squirtle was the one I wanted."
"Now that you all have pokemon you can explore the pokemon world and learn even more about pokemon." Oak said.
Naruto smiled and let her Bulbasaur out of its pokeball.
"Now Naruto you can choose to nickname your pokemon if you so choose. The act of nicknaming a pokemon is to help you bond with your pokemon makes them more special." Oak said. "You can also use your Rotom Phone to check your pokemon's summary where it will tell you the pokemon's nature, move set, and stats."
Naruto took out her Rotom Phone and unlocked it with a swipe of her finger. She then selected the party option of her phone and saw her Bulbasaur, selecting the Bulbasaur a detailed view of her pokemon appeared.
On the display she saw her Bulbasaur and below it she saw a hexagon with words at each point of the hexagon. On top was Hp, to the right was Attack, below attack was Defense, then speed, the special defense, the special attack. To the right of the stat block were its attack, currently her Bulbasaur knew Tackle, Growl, and Vine Whip. Below the attack block was her Bulbasaur's Nature which was Adamant which boosted its attack while lowering its special attack.
"Here I will give each of you 30,000 PokeDollar. This will get you all started as pokemon trainers pokedollars are the primary currency of the pokemon world and you will need them to buy potions, pokeballs, clothes, and food. And here a camping set so you can all cook your own food and camp out while on the road." Oak said, giving each of them a tent and gear. Blue's Tent was blue, while Red's tent was red, and Naruto's tent was green.
"With all that green I might just start calling you Green, Naruto." Blue said with a chuckle.
"Please don't." Naruto said laughing herself.
"Alright you three you are now ready to start your very own pokemon journey. If you wish to compete against other trainers you might fancy taking on the Pokemon Gyms the first is in Pewter City." Oak explained.
Naruto opened her rotom phone's town map and looked for Pewter City.
"Ok so Pewter City is on the other side of Viridian Forest so that's my first stop." Naruto said.
"Sounds like you made up your mind Naruto Viridian Forest is an excellent place to train pokemon but be careful Bug Type pokemon deal more damage to grass types." Oak said.
"Hey Naruto, if you want a pokemon to take into Viridian Forest there is a small area on route 22 that has some decent pokemon. I would hit up that area for a pokemon to take on those bugs." Blue said.
"Then that's where I'm headed." Naruto said.
Naruto left the pokemon lab and made her way to Route 22 just off Viridian City. The trek wasn't too bad. She ran into wild pokemon, mostly just Rattata, a small purple mouse like pokemon. All the while her Bulbasaur was following her enjoying the feel of the grass against his belly.
Once on Route 22 she saw a purple pokemon. Opening her pokedex she scanned the pokemon.
"Nidoran Male, the Poison Pin Pokemon. Small but brave, this Pokémon will hold its ground and even risk its life in battle to protect the female it's friendly with." said the pokedex.
"Alright Bulbasaur it's time to get us a new partner. Use Vine Whip on that Nidoran." Naruto ordered her Bulbasaur.
"Bulba." the pokemon said.
Bulbasaur jumped in front of Naruto and unleashed it's vine smacking the Nidoran male with them weakening the pokemon. The Nidoran rushed Bulbasaur and used a move called peck to try and hurt Bulbasaur but Bulbasaur was able to dodge the attack.
"Come on Bulbasaur one more Vine Whip." Naruto called out.
Bulbasaur unleashed it's vines once again and hit the Nidoran, dazing the pokemon. With the pokemon weakened Naruto threw a pokeball at the Nidoran and waited patiently as the ball shook. After three shakes the ball flashed and Nidoran had been caught.
"Welcome to the team Nidoran." Naruto said.
Naruto pulled out her rotom phone and opened her party app and selected Nidoran. On the display were its stats, Nature which was Lonely, and attacks which were Leer and Peck also on the display was its level. Naruto also noticed its ability which was Poison Point, an ability with the chance to poison it's opponent with physical contact.
"Ok now we're ready for Viridian Forest according to the typing chart Nidoran's peck should be super effective against bugs so Nidoran will lead the party." Naruto said as she withdrew Bulbasaur and let out Nidoran.
A/N: Greeting Pokemon and Naruto Fans in this story I have removed Naruto's ability to be a ninja forcing her to adapt to a new lifestyle. While she still has the Kyubi sealed inside her she can not use it's chakra because of her chakra network being destroyed.
Also in this story I am taking aspects from many sources. Mostly the Pokemon games the Rotom Phone from Galar, the pokemon info display from Pokemon Home, and the poke centers will also be from Galar.
