Re:Form-Reliving life in a different time:
Warning: I'm an Anime only so most of the lore may be wrong or changed in this story(maybe ı would even forget lore given by anime too sometimes ıdk). So ı'm sorry for those. This story will not focused on og lore and will probably have it's own.
Another thing that might turn you off is that my native language is not english so if there are writing mistakes or something like that ı would love for you to tell me where are the mistakes so ı can fix them. Other than that ı hope you enjoy this story :D
Prologue(Part 1):
It was a sunny day in Lugnica. Subaru was recently announced as the Knight of one of to queen candidates of Lugnica and the love of his life Emilia. Subaru's life was changed a lot recently as well. From being a normal kid in japan to being in this fantasy world was both a gift and a curse for him. But with all the sadness and pain he and his friends were able to handle, all of them were finally able to see better days. Except one.
Even tho for everyone everything was going much better than ever before Subaru had only one regret left, the only person he wasn't able to save, Rem.
He never stopped visiting Rem. Each day he hoped maybe they can find a way to bring her back. Worst part was nobody remembered Rem. She wasn't just in an endless coma. Her entire existince in the world was deleted by one of the legendary beasts White Whale. Even her sister forgot who she even was.
But even so her sister Ram still tried her best to look for her. She may not remember her but she always felt a part of her was in Rem. She always tried to remember she wanted to remember her dear sister but she never was able to. But instead of talking to some one she kept that emotion to herself.
Emilia on the other hand always was looking after Subaru. After the recent events her connection to Subaru grew even more but with that she was slowly started to see all his pain and suffering he was trying to bury. Because of that she always tried her best to help him slowly get better and happier. But she also knew that Subaru would never want help and other than special events he would never want to talk about his emotions. Specially to Emilia. Even tho she would help him in a heart beat His fear of losing her even for a silly things like this(thinking if he show weakness she may leave him) was extremly strong. But she still tried her best to comfort him even if he doesn't want to.
One day she saw Subaru again staying with Rem. She saw tears he never shed in front of her. Not being able to see this part of him felt terrible for Emilia because after everything Subaru did for her She wasn't even able to make him comfortably talk to her about his feelings she wasn't even able to make him happier with life and feel his pain with him.
Right after Subaru left Rem Emilia went to Subaru. Without him realizing she wanted to make him relax a bit and think about things that can make him happier.
Emilia: Hey Subaru.
Subaru starts make himself look more energic and happy.
Subaru: Wow what's this light? This Pure, Silver and Beautiful light.
Emilia smiled. At this point she knew how Subaru liked to act with her.
Emilia: I don't know maybe it was coming from a brave and strong White Knight. Hehe…
Subaru: Nono I'm sure it's coming from the most beautiful girl in the universe.
Emilia: Universe? Subaru you doofus.
Subaru: Heh. So what do you want Emilia-tan?
Emilia: I… I wanted to ask, Would you wanna go to city and you know um… have fun?
Subaru: City…?
Emilia: Oh i-if you want we can go with others too. Like Garfiel or Otto.
Subaru: Nono. W-we don't have to. We two can well… go out. It would be like an another date.
Emilia: Ye-yeah a date!
After this talk Subaru and Emilia went their little date in the city of Lugnica with a carrige. Emilia didn't wear her cloak to hide her identity this time. Subaru wanted her to go outside more comfortably. Even if some one would try to say something to her he was going to portect her from them. But thankfully no one did. Together Emilia and Subaru had a lot of fun. They ate ice cream, went to Appa guy and got some appa's. Subaru even took Emilia to a small land mark with a bridge to just relax. While there he remembered the first time he met Emilia and how they were here looking for her insignia. He even remembered when she first told him that she was a half elf. He even chuckled a bit remembering how both didn't know what other meant at the time and were confused because of that. While he was thinking Emilia was confused why he suddenly chuckled.
Emilia: Huh. Did something happened Subaru?
Subaru: Oh nothing. I just remembered something from the past.
Subaru of course knew that Emilia never had those memories. Remembering that broke his heart a bit but they were still memories he would never wanna forget.
They continued walking in the city after that. While they were walking Subaru started to get dizzy. He didn't know what was going on.
Emilia: This day was really fun don't you think Subaru… Subaru?
Emilia saw the tired look on Subaru's face it's almost like his entire body was ready to crumble. His eyes started to bleed and he was trying to walk but every step felt more painful than the other. Emilia quickly hold Subaru in her arms. Subaru looked at Emilia but suddenly he started to see so many ghostly(unseen) hands around him all of them were coming from him.
He was scared. Something was happening and he didn't know if it was dangerous or not. He told Emilia to bring him down. Emilia quickly find a chair and put him there.
Emilia: Subaru are you okay!? Talk to me!
Subaru wasn't even able to say proper words anymore. He was frustrated. He saw the fear the sadness in Emilia's eyes but couldn't do anything about it. Was he in a curse again? İs there an enemy? He didn't know. The pain got even worse. One of the hands started to reach to his heart. He was scared was he gonna die again after all this good time he had with Emilia. Was it again bond to be only his memories.
Suddenly an terrifying purple energy started to shine from Subaru. Subaru was screaming in pain. Everyone in near was watching. Some were just running some were stunned from fear. Some thought it happened because of Satella(with that Emilia). Some did not get what was happening.
Emilia was stunned as well. She was scared. But then she started to hear screams of Subaru and saw his crying eyes. She jumped to Subaru. İt felt like she wasn't controling her body in that moment Emilia's emotions took the control. She jumped to Subaru to maybe a find a solution. When she grabbed Subaru she also accidently grabbed one of the unseen hands. Slowly she started to feel the same pain. Suddenly she saw hands all around Subaru and they were coming for her.
Subaru screamed.
Subaru: PLEASE NOT HER! DON'T HURT HER!
Both Subaru and Emilia were confused, scared and in pain. Entire center of the city was hearing their screams while the entire city feeling the witch's power. Blood was coming from Subaru and Emilia's mouths to their eyes. They weren't even able to see anything any more until…
both were dead on the ground.
Subaru opened his eyes in frustration but then he saw Emilia. They are still in the center of the city or at least that's what it looked like. Since he wanted to be seen happy with Emilia he tried to look fine around Emilia.
Subaru: Alright what my dear queen wants to do n-
Emilia hugs Subaru out of no where. When he looked at her face he saw the fear in her eyes like she experienced something terrible. After seeing that he knew something was of. He kindly took her arms away and asked.
Subaru: Emilia did something happen?
Emilia: Do-Don't you remember?
Subaru: Don't ı remember what?
Emilia: Yo-You were sick then th-those hands appeared all ov-over your body and th-then we…
Subaru was shocked and didn't know what was happening. Was he not died there? Did both survived from what happened there. But then last words of Emilia made him realize something worst happened.
Emilia: Did we returned the same place after we d-
Both suddenly felt a hand was crushing their hearts. Subaru saw a unseen hand coming from Emilia's body while Emilia saw the same from Subaru. Subaru then realized what was happening. Emilia got Return by Death like him.
Subaru: no… noNONO WHY HER!? SHE DON'T DESERVE THİS! PLEASE NO! NONONO!
Subaru was crying and screaming in pain. Emilia didn't know what was going on she was scared and confused but from the shock she wasn't even able to talk.
Subaru: NO I… why… wasn't ı enough for this curse… Why is everyone around m-me… has to suffer…
Emilia's shock went away after realizing Subaru was getting worse and worse. Emilia hold him in the shoulder.
Emilia: Subaru what's going o-
Suddenly citizens of the city screamed. While they focused on each other they didn't realized about others in the area. But everything seemed different they were sure they never seen those people when they were in Lugnica.
Citizens: THE WİTCH İS HERE!
None of them seem to recognized Emilia as one of the candidates of Lugnica. And because of the witch's scent that was coming strong from both everyone was scared. Some ran away from fear while some called knights for help. Suddenly entire city was their enemy.
Emilia: NO I'M NOT-
Citizens: GET AWAY! GUARDS HELP!
Multiple Knights show up. All were scared but they were ready to attack.
Knight 1: Leave this person's soul witch! We will not let you go away!
Emilia and Subaru realized they were talking about Subaru.
Subaru: Oh you misunderstand us probably ı'm a Knight too. Probably you remember ı recently became the Knight of one of the candidates of Lugnica's Queen and there she is.
Knight 1: Candidate? What are you talking about?
Subaru/Emilia: Huh?
Knight 2: She is trying to trick us by using her puppet we should kill her right now!
Subaru: Wa-Wait!
Knights started attacking Emilia. Emilia was trying to go all defensive. She created a Wall of ice around Subaru and her but Knights quickly destroyed it. Then a Knight swing his sword to Emilia but Subaru stopped him from doing it. Subaru took the knights sword but they were cornered. They tried to fight as much as possible without hurting anyone but they weren't able to find an escape. And then a Knight cut Subaru's hand that was holding the sword. And that Knight was going for a killing shot but then Emilia jumped infront of Subaru. Sword pierced Emilia's chest. And blood spread through Subaru's body.
Before he even able to act suddenly an unseen hand crushed Subaru's heart. And both were dead.
Both wake up in the same place they were started. Emilia's confusion and fear was getting even worst but Subaru quickly hold her hand.
Subaru: We need to go now!
Subaru wanted to find someone that already knew them. The closest person seemed like the appa guy. They went to his shop and... They saw a young person?
Young person was extremely skiny he had a long green hair but he had no beard. And he was looking at a girl.
Subaru and Emilia was confused did the guy had two kids?
Mysterious person: Ah… Raksha…
Subaru: Um... Sorry?
Mysterious person: AAAA-
He fell down to ground.
Emilia: Are you okay?
Mysterious person: Sorry ı didn't realize there were costumers.
Subaru: I'm guessing you are the kid of the owner of this shop. I never knew he had multiple kids.
Mysterious person: Huh… What are you talking about? I am the owner of this shop.
Subaru: Say what now?
Mysterious person: I never seen you two here before. Are you two trying to scam me with using my father!?
Subaru: NO NO NO W-We probably confused you with someone else. What was his name? Oh yeah he told me once. Kodomon Risch.
Mysterios person: I am him.
Subaru/Emilia: EHHHHH!
Emilia: But you?
Subaru: What is going on?
Appa guy: İf you two are gonna continue staying here ı will call the guards.
Emilia: Huh…
Subaru: Oh! Of course sorry to bother you!
Subaru quickly took Emilia and both continued running outside of the city. Subaru never had a situation like that before. But he knew he shouldn't stop now. If he was confused he knew that Emilia's situation is worst right now.
Emilia was trying to understand what's going on. Those ghost looking hands, dying, returning to same spot and everything in the city felt different, like all the people were changed and forgot about them, She was considered as the witch again. But also realized Subaru seemed to understand what was going on. It wasn't like He was just trying to look strong He looked experienced with what's going on. They weren't able to find the carrige they came with so only option was running away from the city.
Emilia: Subaru do you know what's going on?
There were still a lot of people around them if he talked about it witch scent may make everyone scared again and someone would die.
Emilia: SUBARU!?
Subaru: Emilia ı will explain but we need to leave the city.
Subaru and Emilia finally were able to escape but the problem was there were no carriges for them to go to their mansion. And because of that they had to walk.
Emilia seemed silent the thoughts in her mind were scaring her. Subaru also had a lot of thoughts but he knew he needed to talk to her now. He saw there were no people around and then started. He realized he was finally able to tell everything to Emilia.
Subaru: Emilia-tan…
Emilia: Yes...
Subaru: I guess it's time for me to explain.
Emilia wasn't sure she was ready to hear him but there was no choice.
Emilia: A-Alright…
Subaru: I'm sure you wondered once well… How ı knew how to save you and everyone when we first met.
Emilia remembered that time and even without him explaining she started to understand.
Subaru: I actually didn't meet you there.
Emilia: What do you mean?
Subaru: İt's a long story. I'm not from this world or let's say ı wasn't from this world.
Emilia: Huh?
Subaru: I-ı… was living my life as a normal kid in my… earth. But suddenly ı closed my eyes for a second and ı was in Lugnica. That's why ı didn't know the writing in here.
Emilia: Wh-what…?
Subaru: Yeah… Well explaining this may confuse you or you may not even believe me…
Emilia was shocked but it made too much sense. How he talks and how he does not get certian things made her realize he may really be telling the truth.
Subaru: And then ı was just looking around then three thugs appeared. I- I acted like a dumbass and they beat me up and ı was almost gonna die. But then… you saved me…
Emilia's eyes were wide open.
Emilia: I- ı saved you?
Subaru: Ye-yeah. You were even looking for Felt for your insignia. But you choose to help me at that time.
Emilia: But... ı don't remember.
Subaru: Yeah ı know.
Emilia: You…
Subaru: And then we look for the insignia and stuff and found Felt… But then Elsa showed up you know that assassin and… Killed all of us…
Emilia: She killed us…
Subaru: And then ı returned to couple hours earlier and saved you.
Subaru didn't want to tell how much he died to her.
Emilia: But.. How and why didn't you tell me!
Subaru: I… ı tried… Remember when you tried to tell me.
Emilia remembered how those hands were killing them.
Emilia: What is that thing?
Subaru was scared if hands will apear again but there was no choice any more.
Subaru: This thing came from… Satella.
Emilia: Sa-Satella.
Subaru was shocked he was able to tell those to Emilia. He looked everywhere if something happened. But after all the things he said nothing happened.
Emilia: S-Suubaru are you okay?
Subaru: I… I am. First ı didn't know about her but then ı learned. When ı die ı uncontrollably return to a certian time.
İn a different scenerio Subaru would be extremely happy to tell this but rather than happy he was angry. Because of him some one he love again had to suffer.
Emilia: And you were not able to tell this to anyone because…
Subaru: Because power doesn't let me… yes…
Emilia learning Satella gave this to Subaru made her scared. Scared that people may be right about her. And she hated herself because some one she love had to suffer because of her.
Emilia: How many?
Subaru: Huh?
Emilia: How many times… yo-you died?
Subaru: Oh nothing big maybe one or two times haha…
Emilia knew Subaru was lying. She wanted to preasure him to say it but she looked at his face. İt looked like he could break down any second and she didn't know how much she can handle it as well. She just stopped talking for a bit. She didn't question it any further.
Subaru and Emilia was finally come to the mansion. They didn't know what could appear there since something weird was going on.
Emilia: Do think something happened here too?
Subaru: I don't know… Let's hope for the best.
Subaru knocked the door.
Both were ready for anything. They got a defensive position and…
Door opened.
They didn't saw who opened it until they looked down. They saw a pink hair. She was a small girl.
Subaru/Emilia: HUH!
Small girl looked at them. One of her eye was closed because of her pink hair. She was also wearing a maid outfit. She looked already annoyed by seeing their presence. With a cold behaviour she started to speak.
Small girl: Welcome to Lord Roswaal's Mansion. How can ı help you?
Subaru/Emilia: What!?
