Warning: I'm an Anime only so most of the lore may be wrong or changed in this story(maybe ı would even forget lore given by anime too sometimes ıdk). So ı'm sorry for those. This story will not focused on og lore and will probably have it's own.
Another thing that might turn you off is that my native language is not english so if there are writing mistakes or something like that ı would love for you to tell me where are the mistakes so ı can fix them. Other than that ı hope you enjoy this story :D
Part 4: The Spirit
The trio started to walk back to the others.
Emilia: Ram my name is not Miarie. It' a
Ram: Hmm… What did you say Miarie?
Subaru walked faster than them to hide his smile.
Emilia: Subaru come on. Say something…
Subaru: You see Miarie-tan it seems she made her mind about our names already.
Emilia: Hmm…
Emilia runs to Subaru and touches his cheek.
Emilia: Alright then Barusu. Hah!
She sticks out her tongue.
Ram continued walking slowly. She didn't show any signs of a smile or laugh but she felt the lovely warm these two gave to her.
While they walked, Subaru saw a door.
Subaru: Hmm…
He realized what that door might open.
Emilia: Subaru what happened?
Subaru walked to that door and opened it. They entered a library. He saw a small blonde girl with eyes that resemble a butterfly and she had a red dress. She was holding a book.
Right after Subaru and Emilia entered the library door closes. Ram waits there until they come out.
Subaru: …Beatrice.
Beatrice: There are new people here, ı suppose.
Subaru starts to grind his teeth. Emilia saw the frustration in his face. She tried to act quickly and hold him before he does something.
Emilia: Suba-
Subaru acts quicker than Emilia.
Subaru: Hey! I'm Subaru and ı-
Beatrice: I don't care who you are, ı suppose. It's intresting that you even found this place.
Subaru: What can ı say? I'm skilled with that stuff… And… it seems you were watching us. Perhaps you want something from us. How can ı help you?
Beatrice: You can help me with leaving me alone, ı suppose.
Emilia put his hand on Subaru's shoulder. He grinds his teeth even more. His frustration gets even bigger.
Emilia: Subaru you know wh-
Subaru dismisses Emilia.
Subaru: I KNOW YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A PERSON!
Beatrice: Huh?
Subaru: I CAN HELP YOU I-
Beatrice: What do you want?
Beatrice touches him with her hand. Subaru knows if he says something wrong she will take his mana.
Subaru: I know ı'm a stranger for you… but ı know you and ı know what you want…
Beatrice: Get out.
Subaru: BEATRICE I- AAAAAAAAA!
Beatrice starts to take his mana. Before Subaru's mana goes all out Emilia quickly takes him out.
Emilia: Sorry… we… we will leave.
Emilia grabs Subaru by his arm and leaves.
Ram: Hmm…
Emilia: Are you alright Subaru?
Subaru: She… after everything that happened… everything…
Emilia: Subaru…
Subaru gets up and starts to walk himself.
Subaru: Okay… ı'm okay Emilia-tan…
Ram knew something bad happened there for him. More than Beatrice took his mana. Since she didn't know what to do she quickly directed them to return back to the others.
Ram: Come on Barusu and Miarie others are waiting.
Emilia: Suba-
Subaru: Alright! Let's go!
Emilia wanted to speak to Subaru and if she can, make him happier about the situation but Subaru chose to hide his feelings.
Meanwhile in the library Beatrice was looking at a book, a gospel. She was confused. Was he the person she was waiting for or was he an another person try take advantage on her.
Trio finally found the other two. Both holding flowers with cards in them.
Frederica: I suppose the meeting is done.
Ram: They will work with us.
Rem: Huh…
Frederica: Wait really…
Subaru: Yeah ı will do my be- Wait what are you guys doing?
Frederica: Well… We thought you guys won't be accepted like so many others.
Subaru: There were other people!?
Frederica: Yeah most of the time Lord Roswaal threw them out of the mansion instantaly.
Emilia/Subaru: Oh…
Frederica: Well ı'm really happy you two joined us. And Ram seems to like you t-
Ram quickly walks back to Rem.
Frederica: Well never mind… But like ı said we three would be really happy that more people will join us.
Subaru: Don't worry! I will help you all, with anything you need!
Subaru acted more energic than usual. Like he tries to hide something. Emilia remembered the last time he acted like that. She wanted to talk to him about it.
Emilia: Su-
Subaru: Right Emilia-tan!?
Emilia: Ye-Yes Subaru.
Ram looked at their intrection again. Behaviour they had before they went to library and now were different. She didn't know what happened but didn't question it either.
Frederica: So ı guess we need to show you guys the mansion now. Do you wanna continue showing them Ram?
Ram: I have job to do in my room. I will leave here quickly.
Frederica: What about you Rem?
Rem: I…
Subaru: I WOULD BE HAPPY ABOUT IT!
Subaru's behaviour scared Rem and she hide behind her sister.
Subaru: Eh… Rem… I…
Frederica: Well ı guess ı have to show you guys around.
Subaru: Ye-yeah…
Frederica showed the entire mansion to Subaru and Emilia. Emilia tried every chance she got to talk to him but Subaru was always avoiding the topic. Emilia wanted him to talk. She knew last time he tried to bear all of his feelings he was hurting himself. She didn't want same to happen but he was still not talking to her. Was he not trusting to her? Was he scared of her? She didn't know. After a while she stopped talking entirely.
While she was silent Subaru didn't even realize that she was silent. He was trying to forget about his feelings again. He already caused too much to people. He did not want them to feel bad for him and he didn't want Emilia to see him like that. He thought she already suffered enough these few days and he didn't want her to see him like that ever again.
Frederica: All right that was the end. While you two wait here ı will tell Rem and Ram to get your rooms ready.
Emilia/Subaru: Thank you.
Frederica left them alone.
They were silent both were just looking at each other time to time.
Subaru: Eh… Emilia-tan we finally came back!
Emilia: Y-Yes…
Subaru: I guess now you have to be a maid too! But don't worry ı will help you all the time.
Emilia stood silent. Subaru finally stopped and look at her.
Subaru: Emilia ı-
Frederica: Alright we got 2 rooms you can choose which room you want.
Subaru: Ok let's loo-
Emilia: Can we pick one room?
Subaru: Emilia…?
Frederica: One roo- OOH-
Emilia: It's not like that! Ca-Can we just do it?
Frederica: Yeah sure.
Subaru was confused about Emilia's behavior but he rolled with it. Both chose one room.
Emilia: Thanks Frederica.
Frederica: No problem. Rest well today. Tomorrow will be your first day.
Emilia: We will thanks!
Frederica left Emilia and Subaru alone.
Subaru: Emilia listen ı…
Emilia sits on her knees near the bed.
Emilia: Come here please Su-Subaru.
Subaru: Emilia please…
Emilia: Ma-maybe you would like this right? You liked that before. Yo-you don't need to fear me ı ca-can do this all the time if you want. I'm so-sorry ı was never with you and I feel like… ı- ı'm still not…
Emilia's eyes started tear up.
Emilia: Yo-you like resting yo-your head on my lap ri-right?
Subaru:…
Subaru remembered those words. "ı was so lonely Subaru, you just went away and left me behind, ı thought maybe you'd actually gotten sick of me, ı thought you'd grown to hate me, ı was so scared". He looked at her eyes. She was crying.
Emilia: You-You're always pushing yourself too hard for peoples sake… and ı'm just ı…
Subaru: No!
Subaru hugged Emilia.
Emilia: Huh!
Subaru: No! I'm sorry ı'm so sorry…
Emilia: Subaru did ı do something wrong?
Subaru: No… no you didn't ı did… I'm sorry. I again focused on myself. I again pushed you away. I'm sorry.
Emilia: But ı…
Subaru: I don't fear you. I love you. You know that right!?
Emilia: Ye-yes…
Subaru: I… ı'm sorry ı didn't talk about Beatrice… I didn't want you to see me like that. My emotions got to me.
Emilia: No there is nothing to be sorry. I just thought you… nevermind.
Subaru holds her hand and took one of her tears with his hand.
Subaru: …There were times where… ı failed to save you… and everyone else… If ı'm scared… ı'm scared of… that… Losing you…
Emilia: I-I see…
Subaru: Emilia please don't hurt yourself over me. I never deserved you… You did more to me than you know.
Emilia: I…
Emilia stopped crying and hugged Subaru again.
Emilia: I-ı'm sorry to worry you too… I… also don't deserve you…
Subaru and Emilia hugged each other for 1 or 2 minutes. To change the atmosphere Subaru wanted to change the subject.
Subaru: Well… I guess we will sleep together huh?
Emilia realized that they now have to sleep together. Subaru was able to see her ears started to get extremely red.
Emilia quickly run to the door.
Emilia: I will say Frederica. I can go to the other room.
Subaru: Nono! She must be sleeping too and besides ı… ı don't have a problem with you being with me.
Emilia: I… alright…
Emilia looked embarrased. Since she didn't know what to do she wanted to offer a lap pillow again.
Emilia: Are you sure you don't want to?
Subaru: Emilia-tan no… I love you… not your lap… saying that out loud feels embarrasing too…
Emilia: Alright…
Subaru: So… Miarie-tan how are we planing to sleep?
Emilia: Hmm… we can… Hey! Cut it out… Barusu.
Both smiled to each other again.
Later Emilia and Subaru went to bed. Before sleeping Subaru kissed Emilia's forehead.
Subaru: I will always love you.
Emilia: Me too.
Meanwhile with Roswaal and Ram.
Roswaal: It seems you took an intrest huuuh… Ram?
Ram: I don't know what you mean Lord Roswaal.
Roswaal: Suuubaru and Emilia are really intresting people don't you think? You seem to like them.
Ram: I only looked at them if they are good enough to work here Lord Roswaal.
Roswaal: Youuu now. You don't have to hide anything from me Ram. Come here.
Ram: Hmm…
Roswaal started to heal a wound in her head.
Meanwhile
Subaru was dreaming again in a dark place. There was still a purple aura but it was weaker than before.
Subaru: Why is this happening?
Unknown voice: Whe-Where am ı?
Subaru looked at the place that voice came. Voice came from Emilia.
Subaru: Emilia!
Emilia quickly saw him and run to him.
Emilia: Subaru what's going on?
Subaru: I-
Right before he started to speak a black cloaked figure came to them. Subaru knew she was Satella but Emilia.
Emilia: Wh-who are you?
Later she saw her face. Silver hairs, purple eyes.
Emilia: Yo-You…
Subaru: What happened to you?
Her hair was all over the place. Her hands and face looked old and tired and her body looked crumbling.
Satella: I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Emilia didn't know what to do. She wanted answers but seeing her state made her stopped for a bit but she had to.
Emilia: Wh-Who are you? Are you m-me? A-Are you close to me? WHO ARE YOU? WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO SUBARU? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS!
Satella come near to Emilia.
Satella: None of those matter anymore… I'm sorry…
Emilia: Huh…?
Satella turned to Subaru.
Satella: I-
Satella fall down to Subaru. Subaru hold her quickly. Emilia quickly helped him.
Subaru: Easy now. What's happening?
Satella: I'm sorry… I'm so sorry for everything…
Subaru: For what?
Satella: A new one will arrive…
Subaru: What do you mean?
Satella: You will be fine… Satella will exist, Witch of Envy will exist but… I…
Satella touched Subaru's cheek with her crumbling hand and started crying.
Satella: I… won't be…
Satella started to crumble away.
Subaru: SATELLA!
Emilia in instinct tried to use a healing magic on her but it wasn't working.
In the end Satella turned into dust.
Right after that they woke up
Emilia: I…
Subaru: Sa-Satella…
