A furious roar could be heard as tendril of the deepest darkness manifested and ripped to shreds a platinum haired girl. Who only reappeared later, as if the event of her mutilation got deleted from history. She was pale and faint drops of sweat could be seen, yet she seemed to have an angelic smile as she replied starkly:
"Why you ask? Why did I commit such a plan? Who knows, certainly not me. I just assumed it would make things interesting for a change. Don't you agree, Witch of Envy?"
Her reply was as another shadow tendril cut her in half, blood and gore could be seen on the floor, yet it all disappeared as she once more manifested. She wiped her forehead with the back of her hand as she sighed and continued speaking while putting some distance between them:
"As always you are a poor conversationalist. Do you think that he will get to meet our alternate versions? After all there may even be world's or timelines without us present. Wouldn't that be fascinating, fufufu."
The Witch of Envy stopped her attacks as a groan was heard and she grasped her head in pain and said:
"No, No, It's not time yet, let me remain longer! I must destroy her, yes, crush her heart and rip out her spine. DON'T COME OUT NOW SATELLA!"
Alas, Envy's desperate pleas went unanswered as the tendrils of shadows went back into her body and suddenly a calm visage was present as Envy went back inside the shared mind of her and Satella came out. She was frowning and her eyes narrowed as she witnessed here despised enemy in front of her. She knew it was useless to keep attacking, neither of them could truly eliminate the other, it was just a waste of time. She closed her eyes and tracked her authority that was with Subaru through the different timelines. She was able to view him after some struggle, yet her influence truly remained weak in that world, besides her main body was sealed and these avatars she could manifest were limited in scope and power.
"Pandora, truly why did you muck it all up? Now we can't be certain of our beloved's future, how dare you interfere again. Wasn't what you did 400 years ago enough? Why can't you let Subaru be? Why is everything either a toy or trash to you. I remember when we were allies against the true enemy when this world faced utter destruction against them."
Pandora's eyes glistened as she finally faced the rational Satella, she sighed and sat down on the floor, her dress that seems like a tablecloth fluttered in the wind as she replied:
"It's true, we were like sisters at one point. Alas, all good things must end in due time. You took your path, and I choose mine. Furthermore, it was inevitable that our choices would conflict, you went half mad and destroyed fifty percent of the population of this world, the price was severe yet so was the fight against them. Honestly even I hadn't seen Reid in such a bad spot, but it was what happened with the Sage that drove you to insanity. Are you content now that his soul has reincarnated in the one you cherish?"
Satella clenched her fists yet exhaled, she could barely speak and too many memories of Pandora remained in her mind. The time they all fought against the biggest threat as true comrades rand in her head. Yet, she also made a mockery of her. Creating the cult, the issue with the archbishops and the atrocities she committed under her name. It was impermissible, unacceptable and frankly, pandering to her.
She gritted her teeth as she spoke:
"What you've done is something that cannot be reversed or changed. My beloved will remain in this state for the rest of his life, maybe even after. Now you may have brought the attention of them through separate time lines. However, if you think I'll allow you to further intervene then your thoroughly mistaken."
"Hooo? Then what're you going to do, we both can't truly harm each other. My vainglory factor can change fate itself, yet im still lacking if I was to try to reverse your immortality. Nay, it's an impossibility."
Satella heard her reply and narrowed her eyes as she gathered what power she could in her current state and spoke:
"My authority and Subaru's ability to come back from death won't be changed, yet I shan't allow you to hinder this world for at least one year. I wish I could do more but I'm severely limited, so come Pandora. Let us both sleep for a year."
Pandora's eyes widened as she got up from the floor and tried to shout:
"WAIT! DON'T DO I-."
"Hellscape of eternity, solitude of Yin."
And with those words thousands of shadows burst out of Satella and reinforced a sphere where both were inside. Pandora tried to overwrite the ability but Satella was quicker and after several seconds the sphere was complete and unshakeable, nothing could undo what she had spent the remaining power to complete. As Pandora fell to the ground unconscious Satella did the same as her last thoughts where:
"Please be safe my beloved, this is the most I can do for now."
And two of the strongest beings went to a deep sleep that would last for a year. None of this was known to the world, and even less to the world crosser named Natsuki Subaru, as he had his own issues to deal with.
(Scene Change)
Natsuki Subaru was still reeling from the world he found himself in, the roaring blaze made his body sweat buckets, his face glistened with evaporated moisture as he still tried to process the entity in front of him. No, he didn't want to admit it, but after seeing how servile the assassin that had killed him several times was in front of this man he had to. It must be another him, but how, or why? As he processed these thoughts his doppelganger bowed and stated:
"Representing the Witch's Cult, Sin Archbishop of Pride, Natsuki Subaru at your service. Now, onto important matters. Melli, take your Mabeasts and go to the knights barracks. Roswall, go and take care of that flame haired asshole, and Elsa come with me. Also pink haired maid follow and assist your master."
"I am reeaally curious over who we have here though? This is a deviation that is unforeseen, it may aaaalsoo allow opportunities to arise."
"Yeah Subaru, why the heck does he look like you? Did you pull off something sneaky again?" Replied Melli as her eyes showed confusion as to how there were two Natsuki Subaru's in the first place.
"Ara, Ara, It shall be done, while it is amusing to see what may be your twin brother, we have to accelerate our plan to finish the capital of Lugunica." Said Elsa as her eyes glittered with emotions of violence and desire to inflict said violence to anyone that her Subaru pointed at.
Also a demi human with cat ears just showed up and with a fervent gaze looked at Pride and said:
"All done, nyah. The magicians of the court have been taken care of, hehe. Please praise me Master."
Pride had gentle eyes as he patted the head of the demi human and he replied:
"Good job, Blue just stick with me for now. Also, my other self-let's get going. Wouldn't want to miss the fireworks after all, would you? The rest of you, don't worry about him, I'll handle it, just do your fuckin jobs and then all that we have worked hard for will be realized. She'll end up as queen, just as planned."
Everyone departed, leaving a confused Subaru with who he know recognized as Felix, and his other self. How was this even possible? It didn't make sense, yet before he could open his mouth and ask anything he had his forearm gripped by Pride and they marched along the streets, with Felix in tow as he remained vigilant and acted like a body guard.
As he was dragged along Pride opened his mouth and said:
"So, who the fuck are you? Why haven't I seen you in any of my past loops? What is this situation? I'm at the endgame and sorely don't want anything weird happening to my plans."
Natsuki Subaru composed himself and shook off the strong grip of pride as he replied:
"I.. I don't know, what the hell is happening? Why is the capital on fire, why is Felix following you like a lost puppy who just found his owner. Why the fuck are you with Elsa, Roswall, and Ram. And why does Ram look dead inside? Also why the hell did you say you are the sin archbishop of pride? Are you mental or something?"
Subaru was furious as he yelled his inner thoughts out, how can there be another existence like him that ended up working for the damn witch cult, where he ended up dying because of Petelguese of all people. He would never work for that cult, even if he was threatened and beaten by all, yet this guy who claimed to be him seemed like the villain of the main scenario in a boss game.
Pride looked at his counterpart with disgust and reared his hand as a firm sound was heard, he slapped the living daylights out of Subaru who reeled back with a stunned expression. Before Subaru could even yell why did he hit him, Pride responded:
"Oi, you piece of shit. Who the fuck do you think you are? You think you're better than me or something? I don't know who you are besides looking just like me so watch your mouth if you don't want Blue here to suck your vitality out. Or I could pull out my friend Todd and gut you. Everything has a purpose and a reaction for this. It's to make her queen. You have no fucking clue what I've been through. Furthermore, you just judge people after meeting them, you shithead? I took down that vile bitch Capella, I exterminated Regulus Corneas, the strongest archbishop alive, I destroyed Sirius, and ended the Gluttonies. Bete-chan was the hardest to defeat out of all of them, I had no clue about his fingers nor his mania. Yet, I still defeated him in the end. What have you done, HUH? WHO ARE YOU TO COME HERE AND CRITIZE ME. WHAT HAVE YOU DONE YOU PIECE OF SHIT?!
Natsuki Subaru was overwhelmed by all the facts that he just heard, and Pride put his hands on his throat and started squeezing with maniacal eyes as he finished saying:
"EVERYTHING I'VE DONE IN THIS WORLD IF FOR ONE FUCKING REASON, IT'S TO MAKE EMILIA QUEEN OF THIS NATION! Poisoning Julius, enslaving Otto, recruiting Roswall and joining up with Elsa, is to make THE BEST ENDING POSSIBLE! AFTER DYING HUNDREDS OF TIMES I AM AT THE CHANGING POINT, SO TELL ME? WHY THE FUCK SHOULD I ALLOW YOU HERE?"
Pride let go of Subaru's throat as he exhaled, his eyes filled with exhaustion and Subaru saw it. He suddenly saw the untold hardships this maniac went through, his process was flawed and wrong, yet he truly wanted the best for Emilia. However, it's sickening, if Felix is here and not with Crusch then where is she? Where is Wilhelm? The Capital is on fire and people are dying by the dozens. The citizens scream and clamor for a savior yet there isn't anyone. How could his counterpart allow such heinous acts? He isn't originally from this world, yet he wanted to change it. However before he could say anything the environment changed completely.
A silence permeated the area as a strength and will of supernatural abilities flooded their surroundings. Felix turned vigilant, and Pride's eyes narrowed as he finally smiled. For in front of them was his true target. A flame haired Swordsman was directly in their path, his cyan blue eyes where narrowed in anger, truly an expression that hadn't been seen before. Pride widened his arms and with ecstasy in his eyes said:
AHHHHHH! You're finally here Hahahaha. You piece of shit, I didn't know you could through true hatred. It's an expression I've never seen from you, how lovely."
Reinhard Van Astrea's eyes burned with fury as he put his hand on his dragon sword Reid and replied curtly:
"I wasn't aware either, that one could harbor such feelings of anger, wrath, and fury. You have truly made me wrathful, blame yourself for your pitiful outcome."
Instead of feeling cheerful Pride started crying as Subaru stared at his old friend Rein in shock and grief and asked:
"Reinhard? Is that really you?"
The Sword Saint looked in confusion at Natsuki Subaru before steeling his will and replied not to Subaru, but to pride:
"I don't know what this vile trick or imagery is, yet both of you won't see the dawn"
However his eyes widened at the person that stepped in the way of his attack as they shielded the body of Pride. And with an agonized expression he said:
"Felix… Even you have been corrupted? Even Julius died, and I heard rumors it was you, but I couldn't believe it, until now. You've truly become tainted by this demon haven't you?"
Felix looked a bit sad at his former friend in the royal knights before he replied:
"Nyah, you can't hurt my master, Reinhard-kun. I'll use my body to buy time, so please Master escape!"
Pride rapidly shouted at Reinhard as tears flew from his eyes, and Natsuki Subaru was stunned at the developments:
"YOU! I'VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO END YOUR LIFE, YOUR FAMILY, YOUR FRIENDS. YOUR PERSONALITY. DAMN YOU REINHARD. DAMMIT IT ALL TO HELL. Yet, yet, yet. The capital burns, and the hero has fallen, everyone hates you. Everyone despises you, for the sacred hero couldn't save Lugunica. So I have one thing to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY REINHARD. HAHAHAHA."
Before Natsuki Subaru knew it, his arm was clamped by Pride and they ran away as Felix rushed to Reinhard and got cut down. The furious Reinhard vowed to pursue them yet a dark haired woman intercepted them. And they were able to get away as Elsa gave her life for their continued living.
As they ran for a while Subaru released himself from Pride's grasp and was sickened to even be in this twisted parody of a timeline. Yet, before he could even shout in fury at Pride he heard a voice, a silver bell like voice that he would have known anywhere. However the words said were shockingly unfamiliar to Natsuki Subaru"
"Cease your steps, Villain!"
And as he turned around he saw multiple icicles surrounding both Pride and Subaru, and with tears in his eyes both Pride and Subaru asked:
"E… Emilia?"
"Emilia, you're still… Magnificent."

No worries, there is still some stuff to wrap up in this chapter so next one will have the conclusion as well as Subaru returning back to his timeline, as well as his mental state being shocked by what he witnessed.
