Just so you know, I've posted this story on SpaceBattles. I am still going to try and answer questions here but if you want a fast answer or one at all I suggest you do that on SB (I really dislike how the messaging or commenting works on FF)

Questions:
1. What happens if Subaru summons the SCP Foundation? Well, depending on the number it can be from an empty facility to some scps, him gaining said scps powers, turning others into scps, etc.

2. D30 with Nuclear Fusion? Well he and maybe other people would be empowered with the ability to fusion any type atoms together, with the side effect of directing the resulting neutrons to make complete fusion (radiation free) if he so wanted... A very broken ability, where he could make a person's inside explode without even realizing it happened.

Anyway, I wanted to write about 4000 words for this chapter but it fell short. Next chapter will be a combination, of a normal one and an interlude, now, depending how big it ends up, another interlude could be the following chapter.

'Yes, certainly a problem…'

Subaru had to sit down… not like he wasn't already, but still, he needed a break after the whole ordeal. This day… it had been the most exhausting one in his life so far and not because he exerted himself continuously, no, psychically Subaru was alright but mentally… He grimaced.

Now that the adrenaline was leaving his system he started to feel nauseous. Feeling as the bile was rising to the back of his throat and using all the willpower he could muster at the moment to keep from vomiting.

Still, now that one mess has been dealt with, and it wasn't even permanent, he had another one placed in his lap.

A man died, he killed a man, indirectly, but his actions led to his death. Neil McLeod… he died because of him… He kidnapped the man from his home and he still tackled Elsa to save Satella… He kidnapped and killed a man for a girl he barely knew…

He approached Neil's body, not even remembering getting up, it was still warm, maybe… maybe there is still some hope to save him… Neil's bowels were on the floor, he just had to place them back inside… he tried to grab them but they were slippery in his shaking hands, why were his hands shaking? Why were his hands red… ah, right, the bowels, he had to put them ba-

Subaru was startled when a firm hand clasped his shoulder. It was the man in priest clothing, Opio something, he was shaking his head. His eyes, far older for the young man before him, held a pensive expression as he started speaking, not like he understood what he said… but still, the Italian or Latin was comforting, calming.

After a few minutes he looked around, having calmed down, though, just barely.

Satella was, from what it looked like, healing Henry while occasionally throwing glances towards him, a plethora of emotions on her face but for the most part, worry and… guilt were the dominant ones.

Next to them were Gema and Robert, the three were conversing in English, with Gema explaining everything that happened so far from what he understood. Which he was glad as his knowledge on the English language was not his best… he was not bad per se but he couldn't call himself good either. It wasn't like Spanish, that, he knew like he was born into the language.

Rom was… he was staring at- "…My shop…" well, at what used to be the Loot House.

Felt on the other hand was exploring the building, which was actually very big compared to the cramped, former tavern. And if the grimace on her face was anything to go by, she probably didn't want to stay near… the corpse…

He took a deep breath, recognizing the faint smell of blood and decided to finally examine the… church? No, it was called an… an abbey.

He took a deep breath, recognizing the lingering faint smell of blood and the feelings it brought. He pushed them down. He couldn't afford another breakdown… he still had stuff to do… and thankfully Robert covered the body with a sheet.

Subaru looked at the abbey and noticed how it was mostly stone, mortar and wood. They were in the church equivalent of a hallway… though he was sure there was a name for it, not like he was had any interests in churches before being brought in this new world.

The hallway was, by Subaru's estimations around 100 meters in length or so, maybe less, with the section he found himself in presenting rows of benches on each side of a long, ordinary carpet going till the part where the priests would perform their… things for the lack of a better word. There were also some doors on both sides of the hallway… and the pillars! Just like the one that saved Satella's life. (Nave and Chancel)

And it was at this moment a door was swung open, a young woman dressed as an abbess walked into the hallway, looking utterly confused and… a bit frightened when she laid eyes on everyone else.

She started talking rapidly in… a language… which, nobody seemed to understand if the expressions on their faces were of any indication…

The abbess was clearly starting to panic but, thankfully, Opio approached the distressed woman, speaking slowly in Latin. It seemed to work as she reluctantly calmed down and began conversing with the Bishop.

He couldn't understand anything they were saying but seeing both of their shocked expressions he could hazard a guess…

'Alright Subaru, you postponed enough. It's time to once again solve this… this mess of a situation.'

Everyone seemed to want some sort of explanation and while they received one from Gema, they wanted one from him

They were deserving more than simple explanations… they were deserving of apologies… but he did not have the time, not now with Elsa's looming threat over them…

Thankfully they left him to gather his bearings.

He walked towards the closest bench to him and proceeded to climb it up, towering over everyone except for, well, Rom.

Clasping his hands together and drawing the attention of those present, waiting for a second or two for the numerous sounds to die down, he then started speaking, in Spanish as it was pretty much the universal language in this world so far…

"Alright everybody! I am sure you have numerous questions and I would gladly answer them… however, the woman, Elsa, is not dead!"

At that, some of those present looked concerned.

"She is merely gone for the next 8 hours! That means, when the time is up, she will reappear here. We cannot afford to be here when that happens." He said the last sentence with finality and got as replies various nods.

Everyone was looking to follow his lead, even Satella and Rom, by the look on their faces, the half-elf was out of her element and Rom was going with the majority, looking defeated.

Everyone was now relying on him… and that scared him. He never was a leader or even a person to rally behind. They had expectations of him, expectations he knew he would never reach or always fall short… his father would know what to do… he wasn't his father he somberly thought…

But he still had to try! This was his mess, created fully by him or not, he still jumped headfirst into it, and now he had to take responsibility.

They decided to bury Neil in the Abbey's cemetery, the one meant usually for men. It was a fast process, simple and somber. A few words from Opio and Hieu, she being the abbess, and in less than 10 minutes the body was already underground.

Subaru, Felt and Satella whose name was apparently Emilia, figures with a nickname such as 'Lia', were very uncomfortable with the burial and hope to never have to attend one as depressing.

Speaking about the Abbey, it was big, much bigger than they previously believe. If the Loot House was a fairly large and mediocre looking building, surrounded by narrowed dirt roads and buildings that could very easily fall over after an earthquake… well now the Abbey and the surrounding yard occupied at minimum an area 15 times as big as the Loot House.

Which… was kind of expected, giving that the Abbey was a dual monastery, now towering over the Slums for kilometers.

The surrounding roads, alleys, buildings were somehow moved to form a kind of circle around the displaced space, straight roads now connected into a roundabout, the poor condition of the roads replaced with cobbled ones around the Abbey.

It was a sight to behold, which, clearly attracted almost a hundred people who were gaping or gawking at the new addition to the Slums…

After the burial they decided to leave, if only temporarily in case of the abbess, whose name was Hieu. While they walked, the group's faces only darkened after seeing what conditions these people lived in, more so the Bishop and the abbess.

When they reached the main road so to speak, what greeted them was the sight of a pink haired maid, with an unimpressed and slightly annoyed look plastered on her face. A couple of meters away a dragon carriage was parked.

'So this is the companion Emilia was talking about…'

"Finally, Lady Emilia, I was starting to believe you had troubles but it seems my concerns are unfound as you found yourself a tag-a-long circus."

"R-Ram! Don't talk so disrespectful about them! This group of people saved my life on numerous occasions and helped me recover my insignia… we… we already lost a man."

"Understood Lady Emilia." Ram then turned towards the group and gave a bow, "Please forgive this maid's impertinence." Her entire demeanor doing a 180.

She was speaking in Japanese and from the expressions of his group, well, only Rom and Felt understood what they were saying.

How the thief and her father figure were allowed to tag along with the person they tried and successfully robbed? Well, Emilia had a change of heart after the death of Neil and decided to forgive them if they repaid her back.

Anyway, after asking the maid if she knew Spanish and receiving an affirmative answer, the conversation continued smoothly.

What surprised them more was that Opio had decided to stay behind, believing he was sent here for a reason and after seeing what conditions the inhabitants of the Slums were living in, he felt he found his purpose, thanking Subaru for the chance he was given.

Subaru… Subaru did not know how to take that… he felt guilty for bringing people here but now someone was grateful? He had food for thought.

Of the same opinion was Hieu, explaining, through Opio, that Abbeys were the usual place to shelter the poor and unfortunate, she would stay with Opio in the Catholic School for the moment though, until the threat of the assassin is no more.

These two really seemed to have an impact on Felt, leaving a clearly surprised expression on her face.

Robert, after seeing their devotion sighed in defeat before deciding to stay, he was a policeman and the two would clearly need it, even if he was a single man.

Henry also followed his example, of the opinion that Elsa probably doesn't know their faces compared to the rest of them.

While neither knew Latin or Italian, they still decided to go with Opio and Hieu, saying that they either way had to learn a new language as English seemed to no longer be the Lingua Franca of the modern world here.

Just as they were saying their goodbyes… Subaru sneezed.

Roll: 16 - Bishop Dunne Catholic School

Bishop Dunne Catholic School is a college preparatory middle / high school located in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, Texas (USA). In 2004, it was awarded the National Blue Ribbon School Lighthouse Award in regards for its continued academic excellence and dedication to the students of southern Dallas. It is the only Catholic school with grades 6 through 12 to hold an exemplary accreditation rating from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and by the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department (TCCED).

Effect: The collapsed building next to the carriage is replaced with a very durable Bishop Dunne Catholic School, the surrounding buildings are moved to make space for it, without displacing the current layout.

Additionally, because this Parallel World doesn't have electricity or other modern utilities, the very modern stuff (LEDs, plastic water pipes, computers, etc) are placed in storage, their replacement being very simple, durable and easier to reproduce commodities. (Carbon filament light bulb, metal water pipes, mechanical computers and simpler devices, books, ballpoint pens, simple electric generators using wind or steam power, simple heating, etc. Now, because it is a moderately high number, the building is optimized and very organized.

Subaru blinked and soon groaned as a large building appeared in front of them. And if it wasn't enough the sudden shift of space-time freaked the hell out of the ground dragon. Freaked out in the sense that the dragon decided it would be a great idea to rush headfirst into a building opposite to the school, wreaking said building and carriage… and fainting. Subaru thanked for the small mercy that the building was another collapsed one.

Ram was clearly alarmed, looking left and right for any enemy but was eventually calmed down by Emilia, having to explain Subaru's abilities.

"I retract my previous words. You can die in a dich full of animal dung." The maid said.

"Woah! What happened with all the gratitude and niceties from earlier?!" He blinked, clearly taken aback by her answer, "talk about an extreme change of character…" he muttered.

"Those died with the ground dragon."

"Wait! Wait! Wait! I'm pretty sure the dragon is not dead!"

At that Ram paused, glanced in the direction of said dragon, seemingly mussing over something before replying.

"Even so, that, Barusu" she pointed her finger at the wreckage of the carriage, "was our only method of transportation. Now if you can pull something out of thin air and get us to Lord Mathers' Mansion, then I might change my opinion of you."

Well… what could you do? He pulled.

Roll: 2 - Chester and Holyhead Railway

The Chester and Holyhead Railway was an early railway company conceived to improve transmission of Government dispatches between London and Ireland, as well as ordinary railway objectives. Its construction was hugely expensive, chiefly due to the cost of building the Britannia Tubular Bridge over the Menai Strait. The company had relied on Government support in facilitating the ferry service, and this proved to be uncertain. The company opened its main line throughout in 1850. It relied on the co-operation of other railways to reach London and in 1859 it was absorbed by the London and North Western Railway.

Effect: For the next 2 hours, a railway from Subaru's location appears, displacing the space without changes to the layout, ending close enough to Lord Mathers' Mansion. Because the time is so short and the distance is quite long, an improved Flying Scotsman steam train appears, ready to move with 2 passenger cars. Fully crewed, with the crew being projections/spirits who will vanish in 2 hours – they are aware of this.

"…What? Oh damn! Everyone! We need to leave now! So follow me and let's embark!"

"Barusu. What is that?"

"That," he pointed his finger at the train, doing a perfect copy of Ram, "is our method of transportation to Lord Mathers' Mansion."

While time was of essence, literally, as after the two hours passed they might find themselves in some random field if they were too slow, they still couldn't stop gawking and admiring the so called 'Iron Monstrosity', Subaru included.

And if that was not weird, the crew of said vehicle was the weirdest of them all… they were all semitransparent spirits! Going by Emilia's description… which was not a problem in itself… the problem was that they were all identical. The male and female ones, thank for the small diversity…

"How much longer till the Mansion?" asked Ram, being the only uncomfortable person in the train as most of them were simply staring outside their windows with childlike awe. The only one not being that interested was Rom, who was lazily laying on a couch.

"Weel, we ur nearing Hanumas, sae, aboot 30 or sae minutes." Answered one of the serving lady-spirits… in a Scottish accent…

"Subaru!"

"Woah-"

Roll: 12 - Black Brunswickers

The Brunswick Ducal Corps (German: Herzoglich Braunschweigisches Korps), commonly known as the Black Brunswickers in English and the Schwarze Schar (Black Troop, Black Horde, or Black Host) or Schwarze Legion (Black Legion) in German, were a military unit in the Napoleonic Wars. The corps was raised from volunteers by German-born Frederick William, Duke of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel (1771–1815). The Duke was a harsh opponent of Napoleon Bonaparte's occupation of his native Germany. Formed in 1809 when war broke out between the First French Empire and the Austrian Empire, the corps initially comprised a mixed force, around 2,300 strong, of infantry, cavalry and later supporting artillery.

Effect: Subaru summons the Black Brunswickers, a mixed force of around 2300 strong infantry, cavalry and artillery near Hanumas village. They have enough supplies for 2 months.

"Subaru, look!"

He turned towards the one calling for him, Emilia, who was excitedly pointing her finger at what was outside the window. A beautiful sunrise on the plain fields.

"Beautiful…" he could only mutter as everyone was watching the sunrise.

A few minutes later and the sun was already above the horizon, warming the earth. Subaru and Emilia were the only ones still watching, as the others left a while ago, deciding to walk around the train.

The atmosphere, for all the beauty of the travel so far, was still gloomy, with the memory of what happened in Lugnica.

"Emilia, I…I-"

"I'm sorry Subaru."

That… that took him aback, not expecting the half-elf to apologize, apology he wasn't sure for what.

"Emilia, there's no need to apologize-"

"Yes, you are right, but I still must apologize. Because of me you've all been placed in danger, and… Nail?"

"Neil…"

"Neil died while saving my life." She turned towards him and deeply bowed, "For that I must apologize."

"…I-I don't know what to say… your insignia was stolen it wasn't your fault-"

"You are wrong. I've been given the simple task of protecting the insignia and shortly after, I lost it. I failed in my duty and I've placed you and your companions in danger because I refused to divulge in what you were getting. I…I-I don't… I don't think I'm worthy of being King."

Roll: 28 - Club Fernando de la Mora

Club Fernando de la Mora is an association football club from the city of Asunción, Paraguay. The team got promoted to the first division of the Liga Paraguaya in 2005 by being the runner-up of the second division league (Intermedia) but got immediately relegated back to the second division by finishing last in the point average in the 2006 season.

Effect: Everyone on the train (excluding the spirits) gains an Olympic alethic football body, all their illnesses healed, a more durable skin, more stamina, a mild regeneration power, extensive knowledge about football, how to play, the rules, etc.

They now have a mild competitive eagerness to play football, whoever wins 125 matches will receive a boon…

Subaru, accidentally pulled after the bombshell Emilia dropped and now he could only stare as she transformed in front of him, fats replaced with muscle, bones changing underneath the skin, she grew a few centimeters taller and straighter, her skin turning much smoother and paler.

Both were gawking at each other or at themselves, seemingly unable to form any coherent sentences or even words…

Emilia now looked like she was a professional sportswoman, gone was the fragile looking half-elf.

Subaru could think of only one thing.

'I am buff.'

Just as he was about to speak, Old Man Rom entered the passenger car they were in, looking at the two of them before turning his gaze at himself.

"Well… I've never felt this good since the war…" commented Rom.

Thankfully, Subaru managed to mollify everyone, not like it required a lot of work, after all, who would say no to a perfect and healthy body?

Anyway, after 15 or so minutes later, the train finally arrived at the last station, that being Lord Mathers' Mansion and the one who greeted them being Ram's sister, who was also a maid it seemed.

While Ram had pink hair, her sister, Rem had blue hair and… some assets. Might be the reason why Ram was so smug when she realized she grew taller…

Rem was very off put by the appearance of the 'Iron Monstrosity', it helped little that her sister was the first to disembark.

Eventually, after much talk between the two, which Subaru was too tired to register, only managing a few sentences here and there, for example Rem talked about someone Rose Waltz or something having a breakdown and cursing a book… He did not want to deal with that. Either way, they were all taken to their rooms to sleep and he was very, very thankful of that.

And the chapter is done. Honestly, it annoys me so much to work with so many characters... I just hope I got their personalities right.
