Chapter 12 Meeting the Hunters

"You think Killua's sister can fix Gon?" asked Knuckle

Shoot looked at the temporary hospital they built specifically for Gon. "I hope so."

"Don't worry it will work." said Biscuit, a woman with the appearance of a young girl. "Killua is a resourceful young man, he had us build all of this," as she gestured to the structure. "So I'm sure at this very moment Killua is saving Gon."

"True, but that does make me a little concerned," said Gorienu. "This was all made to help Gon but Killua also said that the healer would have a target on them. If you ask me, that tells me we aren't out of the woods yet."

Meleoron looked a little worried. "So you're saying while we maybe able to heal Gon, we still might be in for a fight."

Knuckle pumped his fist. "Bring it on, nobody is getting close to Gon while I'm here."

"That's the spirit," said Biscuit before she looked up at the roof of the makeshift hospital where a few hunters were stationed. "Hey, do you guys see anything?"

Melody focused her hearing, "Let's see there's actually a car coming in our direction and- HUH!?" All the hunters looked at Melody who turned to look at Ikalgo, an Octopus chimera ant, his eyes practically popping out of his head. "Mr. Ikalgo what's wrong?"

"ENEMY ALERT! ENEMY ALERT! WE GOT INCOMING FROM THE NORTH!" Shouted Ikalgo at the top of his lungs alerting the surrounding Hunters. "ITS NEFERPITOU!"

Every hunter that was in East Gotou was now trying to keep themselves from freaking out. "Ne….ne….nefer...pitou." Shoot started panicking.

Knuckle was shaking. "So the ants come back to finish the job."

"What the hell is with you two and where did the lizard go?" asked Biscuit as she noticed Meleoron had disappeared. "You look like you're about to shit yourselves."

"Neferpitou was one of the three royal ants guards," said Palm. "It's safe to say Neferpitou is the strongest chimera ant alive right now."

The other hunters digested this information. "God dammit." muttered Gorienu

"Look alive people," yelled Biscuit. "We got a fight incoming."

Every hunter activated their Nen and prepared for a fight as they felt the chimera ant fly through the air heading straight for them. They all steeled themselves as they saw a humanoid creature fly and land right in front of the hospital, breaking the ground causing dust to obscure the newcomer.

Soon the dust cleared enough for them to see Pitou with a plushie on her back. "Hi," she said before stacking a few heavy breaths. "Is Killua inside?"

Biscuit stepped forward. "If you think we're going to let you anywhere close to Gon or Killua, you-"

"Gon is inside as well." interrupted Pitou. "Well that makes things easy."

"GET HER!" Yelled Knuckle as he charged at her.

"Huh, wait." said Pitou as she began to dodge the hunter as he tried to hit her. SHe then saw several severed fists fly towards her, "Magno," the plushie on her back reached forward and showed its compass showing a clear path to dodge out of the way. 'Shit this bad. That Illumi guy may not have hit me once but dodging all of his attacks took a lot out of me. On top of the fact I've used up almost all of my nen, I'm running on fumes here.' PItou saw the rest of the hunters surrounding her. "You know now that I think I shouldn't have come directly here."

"WAIT!" Yelled Melody from the roof. "Something is not right here, I don't think she wants to fight." Some of the hunters on the ground slowed down. "I can tell from her heart beat that she's exhausted and the tempo tells me she doesn't want to fight."

"She can hear my heart beat," said Pitou, surprised. "Wow, that's kind of cool."

"NO WAY," shouted Knuckle. "I saw what this monster can do, we are not taking any chances. SHOOT."

"ON IT" as Shoot sent his fists at Pitou.

'Ah crap.' as Pitou saw the fist coming she was about to jump when she felt something on her feet. 'Huh when?" She then followed the rope to Meleron who was breathing heavily. 'I didn't even sense that guy or the rope.' The plushie on her back suddenly pulled her back as a bullet nicked her hair, 'The octopus on the roof is a sniper!' Because of the rope and the bullet she was off balance with the fist coming right at her. 'This is gonna hurt.' As she saw the fist coming at her with no way to dodge in time.

Though she never got hit as the fists were shot out of the air, "Stop this nonsense at once." said a man stepping out of a car.

Pitou almost couldn't believe it. "It's the coin guy, Gotoh!"

"Hello miss Pitou," as Gotoh launched a coin at the rope freeing Pitou. "You look like you've had a long day."

"You could say that," as she went to Gotoh. "Not gonna lie, fighting Illumi was a lot harder than I thought it would be."

"You fought master Illumi," said Gotoh, surprised by this news. "And you won?"

"Yep," said Pitou proudly but still sounded tired. "It was hard, but I won without getting hit once."

"That's good, I'm not familiar with master Illlumi's abilities personally but chances are you would be in for a nasty surprise if you got hit directly." Gotoh then looked at the hunters who were watching the interaction closely.

"Yeah kind of figured with him being an assassin and all, that if I got hit even once I would be a goner." She said getting his attention again. "It took a lot out of me."

Gotoh stepped aside and gestured for Pitou to take a seat in the car. "Very well then, please take a seat, I will explain to the hunter a brief overview of the situation while you rest."

"Really! Thanks," as Pitou grabbed the plushie on her back and sat down holding it. "You know you're a good guy."

"We are still allies Ms. Pitou and you will be treated as such." said the butler adjusting his glasses.

"I'll take it," before she looked at her plushie. "Looks like it's time for you to go now." The plushie nodded before fading back into her, the effects hitting her instantly. "Yep, it's nap time. I'll put my trust into you for now, coin guy." Without another word Pitou closed her eyes and drifted off into sleep.

Gotoh eyed the now sleeping Pitou. 'This creature is truly a child. I feel like I'm meeting master Killua's friends all over again."

The hunters were left stunned by the sight of their enemy just falling asleep right in front of them. "She's actually asleep!?" said a bewildered Knuckle.

"It would appear so." replied Shoot with his fist still ready to fire.

"Oh," shouted Biscuit to get their attention. "Is this really one of the royal guards we've been hearing about, what is this?" As she pointed to the sleeping Pitou. "I was expecting some sort of brawl, not some sleeping cat."

"Don't let up your guard," yelled Meleron. "She may not look it but she's a monster. I don't know why that guy is helping her but she's nothing but bad news."

Now all eyes were on Gotoh, who even though wasn't interested in fighting the hunters, was ready if needed. "I suggest you cool your heads for a moment. My name is Gotoh and I work for the Zoldyck family."

"GOTOH!" yelled Amane as she and Canary came out of the makeshift hospital. "You made it," she then noticed the person in the car. "Neferpitou!"

"Is she okay?" asked Canary

"Nen exhaustion," clarified Gotoh. "Her fight with Illumi was apparently taxing on her. I assume master Killua is inside."

Canary nodded. "Yes he was about to make his wish when we suddenly felt the hunters around the area nen spiked. We came out to investigate."

"I see." Before they could continue a power surged from inside the hospital, surrounding the area spreading rapidly. "It's happening. The wish."

Inside the hunters association building several hunters felt the massive power surge many were confused while a few had an inkling of an idea of what was happening, one hunter in particular couldn't help but smile at this predicament. 'Now this is interesting,' then his phone beeped showing he had a text message with a picture of Pitou sleeping in the car. 'It's getting even better.'

In the distance just outside of the city Illumi watched as Alluka's power surged. "Incredible, I want that, I want that power."

Even Hizoka couldn't help but lick his lips. "Now I definitely can't deny that's interesting."

Pitou slowly opened her eyes, finding herself back at the castle in East Gorteau. It looked clean untouched, as if the fight never happened. Pitou was on top of the central spire above the castle. "This is a dream huh." She hopped down and slowly made her way to the throne room.

As she entered she saw a familiar scene of her king Meruem playing Gungi with Komugi. Though this time Youpi was standing by watching the game while Pouf was playing his violin but the odd thing was she couldn't hear anything from him.

"Do you miss this by chance?" Pitou turned to see her reflection. Her subconscious, the gray Neferpitou who was wearing her old outfit. "Do you wish to return to this?"

Pitou looked at the scene once more before she smiled and shook her head, leaving the throne with the gray pitou in tow. "I wish things were different, I wish I could have had more time with them." She stopped at the balcony overlooking the courtyard. "I wish I could have tried food with them, see those mountains or the ocean with them. I think they would have loved to see the ocean."

"That's impossible."

"Yeah, no use dwelling on the past. Don't get me wrong, I won't forget them but I need to move forward." said Pitou who was happy with her choice she made. "To be honest I'm more surprised to see you again. I wasn't expecting to have an inner journey again through my mindscape."

"Well this might be the last time anyway. When you awaken you will have the hunters to deal with, it might become a fight again."

"We'll see."

"Do you actually trust that butler or the boy?"

Pitou thought for a moment before a giant grin appeared on her face. "Yep, they're like Jessica, good people."

The gray Pitou looked at her for a moment. "The assassins."

"Yep."

"The assassins, people who kill others for a living."

"They ain't perfect but neither am I." she said still with a smile.

The gray Pitou sighed. "Alright, just be careful when you wake up. I live in your head remember, so I would prefer it would remain attached to your body."

"Oh relax, I'll be fine."

"What should we do with her?" asked Ikalgo as he and the other hunters were now surrounding the car.

"You should at least let me hit her," said Knuckle, "With my ability I can at least lock her nen for a month."

"No," said Canary with a neutral tone. "I know she was once your enemy but right now she helped master Killua get master Alluka here to help Gon."

"She is correct," said Gotoh as he and the other butlers stepped in front of the car. "Killua gave us clear instructions on how to deal with her, as of right now she has done nothing to violate those rules and so if you wish to harm her in any way, you will have to deal with us."

"Everyone stop," said Morel, stepping between the two groups. "Look we don't want to fight but that person is really dangerous, please allow us to at least move her to a different location. You weren't there when Gon fought the chimaera king, he transformed into something else. If he sees her now who knows what could happen, so please let us-"

"Is that Pitou?"

Slowly everyone turned to see Gon, healed and standing. Though to him the world slowly faded around him, leaving only him and Neferpitou.

A/N This fic is one of the first ones I have ever thought of and the third I ever posted and I've come to the decision that chapter 15 will be the last chapter of this fic. The dark continent arc hasn't finished and I don't know how many arcs I would have to make up before the hiatus would end.
