Subaru? And the Witch?
Felix: We're finally going to know what the relationship of Subaru and the witch, right?
The screen was lighting up and the presence in the screen gone, Felix tried to make sense of the conversation earlier with the Screen by speaking out loud his thoughts.
The Witch's Hand lowered him to a floor composed only of darkness, and he collapsed, unable to stand.
"S-sorry," he croaked as Satella glided over to him. She fell to her knees and put his head in her lap. "I'd love to give you a hug, but I'm not feeling so great."
"Rest, my love," she whispered. "You have been so brave."
Felix: Is that… Subaru-kun? He's acting a little bit weird… and is that the W-witch! No it can't be she wasn't like that before… No… There was that one time…
As Felix was trying to make sense of the situation by saying his thoughts waiting for someone to follow him up but stopped as no one besides him was saying anything. While Felix was saying his thoughts the others was silent not because they were speechless, I mean that was part of it but they were silent because they were too focused on the screen to respond to Felix's thoughts.
He chuckled weakly. "I don't know, Ella." She smiled at the nickname from an age long past. "I was pretty terrified."
She delicately cradled his head in her arms. "Yet you still faced your challenges with your head held high. That's why you're brave."
"You always had too much faith in me," he muttered. They sat in companionable silence as the miasma caressed his soul, gently healing the damage.
Wilhelm: The girls name is Ella, it seems and it looks to be that the two of them are quite close.
Wilhelm in an attempt at breaking the silence also voiced his thoughts on the matter on the screen. Thinking to himself "It seems this Ella and Subaru-dono were lovers" but he didn't voice that part of his thoughts because he wasn't as stupid to say that in a room with at least two ladies competing for the boys heart.
Crusch: It seems so, for him to call her in what I suspect to be a nick name and complain they are at the very least long time "friends".
Crusch noticing her knight and old butler's intension she followed suit in attempting to break the painful silence invading the theater.
Melli: That's right, it reminds me of what o-nisan calls Emilia-onessan.
In a voice that's not quite but not too loud Melli tried to break the silence too since she couldn't bear with it, so she purposely mention Emilia's name to make her start talking.
Emilia: Your right, Melli. Subaru game me a cute nick name by attaching –Tan and it sounds like Subaru gave this person a different nick name they must be close.
Unknowingly they are threading the thought none of them want to thread to break the long silence before but its already too late as they already formed the base line to grab what was happening right now.
He leaned into her touch as he mused, "I think this is a new record for deaths in the mansion."
Rem: What?! How!? I thought you would do better the second time Subaru-kun!
Rem voiced their thoughts "what!? I thought that was over! Did he die more times than the original, but if he has done this before why did he die more times than our Subaru!" Everyone was thinking this.
"Don't joke about that," she scolded. "Your life is important. Your life has value. Treat it with care."
Emilia: I agree with her, he needs to stop joking about his life too lightly. He needs to take care of his life and treat it reeeaaallyy preciously.
Everyone just mentally nodded their head not because Emilia and this other girl has wrong but because who this other person is.
Priscella: Of course you're the first to agree you disgusting half-elf!
Priscella finding the right time to insult Emilia decided to take it for she is mad and frustrated that she has the dog that caught her eye.
Felt: Of course you would be th' one to insult nee-san first, even after watching the previous arc you massive harlot!
Felt after watching the previous arc decided to be nice to Emilia because how could you not her past was heart breaking and sad, well this bitch doesn't seem to think so, Felt thought.
Priscella: What did you just call me, sewer rat?!
Priscella little bit pissed at Felt, so she lowered her eyelids to make one of the sharpest and narrow glare and directed it at Felt.
Felt: What?! ARE YOU ALSO DEA HARLOT!?
Felt taking Priscella's glare head on and insulting her again but louder with mocking mixed in. The room was tense as it could be in a glaring contest between a queen and a princess starts.
Just as Al was about to step forward to intervene preparing to get hit to stop the fight and continue the viewing, he was stopped by a hand. Turning his head to see whose hand only to find the beautiful face of the Sword Saint, the knight of the other candidate arguing with his queen shaking his head stopping him from stepping forward.
After Al stopped, Reinhard in place of Al intervened and deescalated the tense air and stopped the fighting. After deescalating the fight he went back to sit in his chair to continue watching what's on screen.
Reinhard: Now I wonder what's happening right now?
He rolled his eyes dismissively. "I know, I know. I promised that I wouldn't treat my life as a commodity anymore, didn't I?"
She frowned at his flippant behavior. "You did," she said forcefully. "Now, 'tis time to act on your promise. You know how to overcome this challenge, so do it."
After looking intently and analyzing the screen to form a picture of what's going on Shaula finally speaks up and be her usual self again.
Shaula: Who is she Master… are you cheating on me master! Horrible! How horrible!
Melli: Naked O-neechan… how sad! O-niisan is such a cheating bastard!
Shaula making an exaggerated poses to be dramatic and her overacted tone of her voice that makes her look ridiculous. In response with her Naked oneechan's sarcastic lines and dumb poses she followed suit and did the same.
Petra: I already knew this but you really get along don't you?
Petra amazed once again how Melli made a new close friend after just a few months out with Subaru, Beatrice and the others. Happy for her friend she chuckled and smiled at their antics.
Emilia: She knows Subaru rarely keeps his promises, they must have known each other for a reeaallllyyy long lime.
Emilia says with a small frown on her face remembering her knight seems to really like breaking his promises, but a small smile on her face forms as she remembers some of the things he does to get her trust back, but a small feeling of jealousy seems to form when she remembered she's not the one on the screen and it seems to a girl called "Ella" and how close they are.
Emilia: Subaru, dummy…
Felix thinking and connecting the dotes on his mind to make sense of what's happening. Finally reaching the end of his patience he decided to begin asking questions when he heard a statement that he could not let go.
Felix: Wait… She said Subaru knows how to overcome this but if he does… why did he let himself get killed.
Crusch at his side and the others hearing the question decides to think for an answer but reaching no conclusion that they think is right replied with-
Crusch: Who knows?
Crusch just said it to say I don't know, and was not thinking she would get an answer but surprisingly she received a voice answer her question coming from the Emilia camp side.
Ram: Barusu was busy being stupid to do the smart thing and overcome the problems in the mansion, probably.
Hearing Ram's loud and clear answer the people in the theater looked at her with confused faces. In this time in the theater the people got to know that Ram wouldn't make fun of Subaru out of nowhere, so they were hoping she continue but the next moment they got their answers from the screen.
He winced at the uncomfortable truth. "She has every right to kill me," he said weakly.
That one sentence answered the question for many, they were shocked and speechless for what the boy said on screen.
Emilia: W-what a-are you talking about Subaru! You're wrong! You're wrong, wrong wrong wrong wrong
Emilia hearing what the boy said put her hand to cover her mouth, slowly shaking her head denying what the boy said. Her eyes became warm and watery and suddenly felt her cheeks get warmer and wet, moving her arms to check only to find tears going down her face.
Rem hearing her sister talk about Subaru like that made her upset yet the moment she heard the boys next sentence she found herself agreeing and apologizing to the sleeping boy for what she has done to him even if he wouldn't hear what she is saying to him.
Beatrice turned around to hug her contractor but since she's short she is only hugging his stomach as tight as she can swearing to never leaving his side, and that she would never hand him over especially to lady death.
Shaula looked deadly and mad thinking to herself "I'll kill that wants to kill you master, no matter how right they are. I won't let you die before Me." tightening her grip on her arm around her Master, she swore she would be comforting her master with both her mind and her sexy body that her master loves so much! Thought Shaula, be ready master for Shaula is coming and busting your heart K.O.
Felix: You're right he was too busy doing something stupid!
Felix said in an angry and frustrated tone earning him all the nods of the people in the theater.
When Subaru wakes up he was going to have a long screaming and talking with that young man he thought.
After sometime the ladies have calmed down the tears, apologies and repeating voices stopped and the screen started playing again.
They both knew he wasn't talking about his scent.
"'Twas not your fault," she insisted as she gazed sorrowfully at him. He was always making her sad, wasn't he? "You need to forgive yourself."
Rem thought "It's my fault so why are you punishing yourself Subaru-kun, why are you not mad at me but instead mad and unforgiving of yourself. I'm the one who killed you so why are you mad at yourself?"
Muttering "sorry" to herself so quietly that even Ram who was next to her couldn't hear her.
Emilia: He really does, doesn't he?
As Emilia said that others in the theater nodded showing that they also agreed with what this lady was saying. They all thought "He really is too hard on himself ".
He laughed mirthlessly; they've had this argument enough times to know it would end in a standstill.
Welhelm: ah.. I know how that feels, arguing with your loved one about one thing you have strong opinions on.
Welhelm too focused on the screen he didn't even notice he was talking about his beloved wife, the most beautiful woman in the world remembering her he couldn't help but tear up a bit at his wonderful memories with his wife.
Reinhard: Grandpa…
Reinhard hearing his grandfather talking about his grandmother the person he killed when he was five, he muttered out the words Grandfather out of guilt and almost followed it up with an apology but stopped himself when he remembered what he told his grandfather when he killed his grandmother a second time and destroyed the family. Guilt in his heart he decided to keep his words of apology to himself and stayed silent to let his grandfather reminisces about his wife in peace.
Otto hearing what Welhelm said turned his face to the back and asked a question that he really want an answer to.
Otto: Hey, do you think that maybe she is Natsuki-san's wife, she seems nice?
Garfeil: Oi! That's the Witch you know! The witch! The one who gave Cap'n that horrible curse!
Garfeil not believing what Otto just said was starting so be loud. While others started considering it and thinking to themselves "Maybe that girl isn't the Witch but just like Emilia looks like her"
Otto: Maybe that isn't the Witch we haven't been told of the name of the girl, we just assumed that it's the witch since it's in a dark place and she's wearing black?
Otto voiced the unlikely most of them thought but it could be true they thought. "Maybe, just maybe it really isn't the witch and just a half-elf that looks and sounds like the witch and Emilia-sama"
Otto: Maybe if we just continue to watch we'll have answers for everything, so let's leave this for now.
Changing the subject, he asked, "What do I do about Elsa? Even if I do everything right in the mansion, she'll just come to kill me, and Invisible Providence won't work against her anymore."
She stroked his hair but said nothing.
He scowled. "Is this one of those, 'you can figure it out yourself' situations? It's not like I can burn down the mansion again," he pointed out. "To beat her, I'd need help from someone like…oh." His face flushed slightly. "That…wasn't actually that hard to figure out."
Garfiel: Cap'n's going to fight the bitch 'n black! And win with his plan! GO CAP'N!
Mimi: Garf! Who's the bitch in black!
As Garfiel was cheering for his best friend and Cap'n, Mimi asked a question while jumping from Ricardo's arm hook. As she was falling Ricardo used his other hand to catch the falling cat.
Ricardo: It's the one who Garfiel bro'ght down ain't that right. Also Mimi don't jump on my hook it's dangerous.
Ricardo responded why ruffling Mimi's hair with his fine hand. While Mimi was chuckling and laughing at how nice it feels to be head patted by Papa Ricardo
Garf: Yeah!
She gave him a fond smile. "You are smarter than you believe, my love."
"Maybe my old self was," he grumbled, "but I don't know about now."
"You are him. You are strong. You are smart." She leaned in and whispered in his ear. "I believe in you. I love you."
"That's not fair, Ella." His eyes began to water as he murmured, "You're gonna make me fall in love with you all over again."
Somehow, he didn't think she'd mind that.
The Knights and the entire Emilia Camp their jaws just… dropped real low, while the others were too shocked that they didn't even move. They knew he loved her even without saying it but once he said it, it was still shocking because that was confirmation that Subaru and the Witch really were lovers or more.
Beatrice: T-then! THEN IS! Is it really you F-f-flugel…
At the confirmation Beatrice could not help but say it out loud, she looked up to Subaru's sleeping face and just stared even though she knew that she would not get any answer from the sleeping boy.
Emilia: B-b-beatrice what did you just say?
At Beatrice loud emotional stuttering voice calling out Subaru as someone Flugel, everyone has now their attention to Beatrice and Subaru in a weird position with a sleeping Subaru sitting with Beatrice facing him sitting on his lap and both hands on Subaru's face. Beatrice with tears on her eyes looking up at Subaru a sleeping Subaru she continued saying-
Beatrice: When I left for sanctuary it was the last time I've seen you, I suppose, because you ran away with Satella without even saying goodbye! In fact! Then the next thing I heard was that she destroyed half the world?! WHY! Why did you leave me…I suppose?
Hearing Beatrice cries and screams they had mixed emotions and they thought of something different when they heard her words some were being cautious some bewildered, and a clown in the back was genuinely confused and curious as this was the first time he learned that Beatrice knows Satella the Witch of Envy and a person named Flugel.
Meanwhile all of this was happening Shaula was out of her seat dancing on the back, front, left, right, all over the place she's dancing all over the place while Beatrice was crying and screaming about her master.
Shaula: SUCK IT! LOSERS! I'm definitely posting this on reddit! I was right! Right! Who was right? I AM!
Shaula was in the happiest she could be right now, throwing references that his Master taught her the one and only Natsuki Subaru, the other people in the theater would finally stop telling her that she mistook Subaru for her Master. Shaula was breaking the dramatic atmosphere and was bragging and rubbing it in their faces that she was right.
Melli: Naked O-neechan you really amazingg..
Beatrice after a couple of minutes of screaming and a couple of minutes watching Shaula brag and dance after crying she finally calmed down. Once she calmed down the screen continued where it stopped.
For a time, they just enjoyed each other's company. They could almost pretend that things were like they used to be.
...But they weren't.
Her hands and voice shook with instability. The shadows caressed her skin, tempting her to fall into her Sin. She was no longer Satella, but a vessel for the Witch of Envy.
Her once warm body, bursting at the seams with life, was now frozen with the cold taste of death.
Julius: I wonder what happened to the both of them… not only the Witch of Envy as I feel there are still a lot of mystery surrounding her but also about Subaru.
Julius as the history nerd that he is, has been let down as many legends there were. First with the sage, second with the First Sword Saint, then with the holy dragon Volcanica who was not past the great water fall but at the top of a tower, then now with the Witch of Envy being… a tragic heroine?! Out of everyone in the knights he'd like to consider himself as the most open minded one.
Felix: Ok… answers are finally being answered… but its only giving more questions!
Normally Felix would have been screaming the name of the Witch of Envy right now had he not expected this. But since that one episode on Arc 4 and the screens depiction of a woman with her lover he'd been able to be open minded enough to accept this.
As Julius and Felix expressed their thoughts, the others were watching the screen in full concentration like a hawk. The theater was silent and it was because they are trying to piece thing together on their mind.
So, he did what he did best and ran from one problem to face another. "This loop has been tough," he admitted. "I figured the mansion would be pretty easy. I guess I forgot how much Rem hated me the first time around." He laughed bitterly. "If I didn't Return by Death to Emilia's arms every time, I would probably have gone crazy."
Emilia hearing this comment by Subaru as she was focused so seriously on the screen, turned beet red all the way to her ears. Embarrassment, happiness, excitement, and love filled her face that's why it turned red.
Emilia: you nincompoop, dummy, idiot, Natsuki…
As Emilia mumbles this under her breath, the others just thought "Even in another woman's embrace the Witch of Envy at that she still praises her lady… that's cute" they thought.
Realizing what he said, he winced. "Damn it, I'm sorry Ella."
But Satella was content. "'Tis okay," she said softly. "Emilia is good for you."
"How can you say that so calmly?" he asked incredulously.
Prior to their expectations The witch of Envy was not getting mad and crushing his heart, but instead was supporting him? " Ok… something must have happened" they thought.
"We made a promise: 'Til death do us part.'"
"We did. Then…you died."
His breath hitched.
Melli: HAHAHAHA! Th-that's g-good… "We did. Then… you DIED! AHAHAha… I.. I cant…
Shaula: haHA..I-Its bad-d..haha to …at that…
At the first part everyone was in a sincere and sad atmosphere and some even shed a few tears.
When Satella replied and heard Subaru hitched his breath, the children couldn't help themselves (Melli was the loudest) and laughed even Shaula laughed.
With devotion in her eyes, she told him, "I have known your love. We lived our lives together."
"Those lives were too damn short," he grumbled bitterly and was promptly ignored.
Reinhard: Now I really want to know what happened to them.
Reinhard says curious as to what happed to his precious friend and the woman he loved. Emotions of sadness, bitterness and curious at what happened four hundred years ago.
"You have a new life. A new you. A new love. Be with her."
"Damn it, Satella!" he yelled, but she was unfazed. "You're too damn selfless. You give, and you give, and you give until you're a shell of yourself. Why can't you fucking take for once?"
She placed a cold hand on his cheek. "Because I want to see you happy," she said softly. "I want to see you smile. You should love yourself, and love others. You are alive. Make the most of it. Be honest with what you want and follow your heart. Achieve your goals. Be the hero…you are meant to be."
He covered her hand with his. "Why?" he croaked. "Why are you being so nice to me when all of this is my fault?" He sat up; his strength fully returned. "Why aren't you screaming at me, condemning me for my crimes? I did this to you! It's my fault, so why don't you hate me?!"
Her frozen lips pressed themselves to his forehead as she held him close, whispering, "Because I love you."
He gripped her tight, drowning in her love as he reaffirmed his promise to her.
With that, he left the Citadel of Shadows. The memory of their encounter was wiped from his mind.
Ok! Its done! Its finally done! So what did you guys think of that.
As the presence came back to the screen so did a familiar voice it asked them of their opinion and the response was nothing, it wasn't done with bad intentions it's just that they were speechless. It ended with Subaru blaming himself for everything and The Witch of Envies words of love.
Beatrice: What happened after they ran away, I suppose?
Confused by what Subaru/Flugel was saying at the end, being calm enough she asked what she didn't know hopping that it would give her answers to the many questions in her mind.
Well I guess your just going have to wait till I play the next one to get answers from your questions.
The screen didn't give one damn answer to her questions and she was mad. Instead of answering her the screen made her wait making her more Impatient.
Beatrice: Well then, when is the next one going to be played, in fact!
Since Beatrice earlier question was not answered she decided to ask another one to know how much time she has to wait till another one plays to answer her questions.
Calm your butt in just a minute, I'm getting it while I go and fetch it go talk to each other or something Im sure most of you have questions to ask each other.
At the Screen's reply Emilia found it the perfect timing to ask the questions she wants to ask Beatrice since a while ago. So she lightly tapped her shoulder to make her face her and ask her question.
Emilia: Hey… so Beatrice who is Flugel?
At Emilia's question everyone in the room turned towards Beatrice. Beatrice turned her head to face Emilia to answer the question and began explaining in the shortest way possible.
Beatrice: Flugel was someone like a big brother to Betty, I suppose.
At Beatrice answer more questions popped up, but Emilia placed those new questions away to ask the questions she wanted to know the answer of originally.
Emilia: How do you know The Witch of Envy?
At Emilia's question everyone payed attention to know the most important question they wanted an answer too. As she heard Emilia's question Beatrice face turned to a face of sorrow, sadness, to bitterness and a smile then she answered her question.
Beatrice: I never met the Witch of Envy, I suppose, the one I met was Satella the kindest and selfless girl that was who Flugel cherished and Betty's Onee-chan, in fact.
At Beatrice answer they turned to look at Crush, who noticed and nodded her head. They were shocked, not only did they not expect it but it was covered in complements as the kindest and selfless but the fact that Crusch Karsten the one who possessed the divine blessing of wind reading told them that it wasn't a lie shocked them. The person known as the Witch of Envy the evilest form of evil could be described as the kindest and selfless want to make them laugh no someone did laugh—
Felix: hahaha…. How can the embodiment of evil the Witch that the Witch Cult hails as their Goddess be the kindest and selfless person.
Felix with his anger towards the Witch Cult laughs at the stupidity of Beatrice answer he was about to open his mouth to call it a bluff, but unexpectedly he was told off by the person who he obeys no matter what.
Crusch: Ferris stop! She has clearly spoke in a clear and direct manner in order to make it clear, or what do you doubt me?
At Crusch words he bows his head and apologizes to Beatrice and then apologizes to Crusch. Crusch and Beatrice accepts the apology. After that another voice asked a question.
Anastasia: But If' she rea'lly is th' kindest and selfless gal, how did she became known as the Witch of Envy?
At the girls voice some were shocked a little bit that she finally talked since the end of Arc 4. Hearing his ladies voice the finest knight responded.
Julius: I doubt even the Great spirit knows that Anastasia-sama.
Anastasia: Oh.. how ya figur'e.
Julius: The first thing the Great Spirit did ask was what happened after she left so the lady must have been fine when they last saw each other.
As they heard Julius reply they looked at a sleeping Subaru's seat where what seemed like a little girl sat at his lap but was in fact a great spirit, they looked at her waiting for confirmation and the spirit just said-
Beatrice: That's right, I suppose.
Just as the Spirit finished saying her reply another voice spoke but this time it was that familiar voice that came from the screen and not anyone in the theater.
Hey I finally got it, so are you ready for me to start it?
All of them just nodded for confirmation after hearing the Screens voice not even bothering to say a word to make sure that their concentration is in the screen. Five seconds after their nod the presence in the screen is gone and the screen lit up again, it then began the second episode-
