Nezu had been observing Izuku Todoroki very closely. Now that wasn't to say he was stalking the boy because that would be unheroic. Of course, that's what he'd tell anyone who asked. To be quite honest, Nezu was enjoying the thrill of a challenge that had yet to be solved and if that included observing the boy using the cameras hidden throughout the halls of UA then all the more fun. It had been a long while since he had had to take more than a week to gather all the facts needed to take down any criminal.
Naturally, Nezu already had a solid understanding of the situation, the issue was convincing all the others to solve the puzzle as well. It was quite obvious that both Izuku and Shouto Todoroki were being abused. It was also a well known fact that the number one hero Endeavor was short tempered, had the largest casualty rate, was prone to fits of bloodshed and unnecessary use of force, and had recently experienced an upgrade to his quirk. But that hero was also the most rich and second most loved in all of Japan. The man could hire a team of professional lawyers to help his case. He could also afford the best forger money could buy. But of course Nezu's services weren't for sale.
It had barely been a challenge to find the documents Endeavor had tried to erase on a one Izuku Midoryia. And my, what a fascinating boy indeed. With the ability to increase the power level of another exponentially, anyone cruel enough would want that boy's quirk for their own gain. And Endeavor certainly had a cruel streak.
Of course there were the questions of how Endeavor could have a boosted quirk without the boy around, but it wasn't unlikely for young children's power to grow as they too become older. It wasn't a terribly hard step to believe that Izuku's quirk had long lasting effects or worked over a large range of distance. (Something about that explanation didn't sit right in the principal's gut, but there were very few other, and less likely, options to consider.)
Now, Nezu wasn't one to waste time on emotions, but when his brain connected the pieces, he found himself for the very first time, dreading what was happening to the two teens locked in a sinister plot. He would need to inform Aizawa of the creature's suspicions, and he had been intending to do that as soon as school had let out for the day.
But the universe does not pause for revelations because at that precise moment Nedu watched as the security camera footage displayed young Izuku being kidnapped via portal right out from UA's own bathroom.
What a fascinating development.
Shinsou sat beside his adoptive father's hospital bed, his stomach in a tight knot. How had things gone so wrong?
The morning had started out badly and had only gotten worse. The teen had arrived, as he always did, very early because both of his parents were teachers. That's why when half an hour later, Shinsou caught a glimpse of the Todoroki cousins in the hallway he was excited for the day. But then, Izuku hadn't shown up for class and unless the purple haired teen was going crazy, something was wrong.
Shinsou sat anxiously in the room, determined to talk to Present Mic, one of his fathers and also the home room teacher for class 1-C, about his thoughts when Nedu announced over the speakers that all the teachers were needed right away in the creature's office.
Shinsou later found out that Nezu had seen Izuku be kidnapped and had called all the teachers together for an emergency meeting.
Of course, that wasn't the end of it. As Shinsou just sat in his seat with worry, the heroes got word of an attack on the USJ and they all raced there to stop it.
The aftermath was great, but the one most injured was Aizawa Shouta, Shinsou's father.
So yes, today was quite possibly one of the worst days of Shinsou's life. His dad was badly injured. He was supposed to make a full recovery, but that didn't stop the worry. And one of his only friends had been kidnapped by villains for some reason nobody would tell him about.
Shinosu was going to have some serious words with both of his fathers when things got back to normal.
Yagi Toshinori was an imbecile. Nezu had always known the man to be observant and impulsive, especially when it came to hero work, but today was the day he marked the walking buffoon as such. Of course, the principal still had a soft spot for the hero all the same, but today's headache was already too great to be appreciative towards the man.
All Might, better known as Yagi Toshinori, had walked (more like burst) into Nezu's office and had announced that his quirk had held up longer than ever and his power had come from sheer force of will. Nedu would mentally slap himself if he wasn't above such unintelligent acts.
"An interesting development," Nezu began slowly(not because he didn't know what to say because in that regard he was always twelve step ahead of his words, but so the incopetent hero before him would register his meaning), "But perhaps you should consider how what you suggest is possible, and then perchance reconsider the why," He finished and then promptly slammed the door shut in the hero's face.
The number two hero was well and frustrating at times, but he may have just provided the beginnings of a key that could unlock the chains that lead to the first real components needed to help assist Izuku Midoryia.
And what a day that would be.
