A/N: Thank you all for the amazing reviews and critiques and suggestions! This is why I started posting in the first place and ya'll have helped out more than I can ever say! Thank you!
Spirit: Labeling the dialogue also sounds like a good idea, thank you! Love the suggestions too. Don't want to get too much more in-depth cause spoilers ;)
Guest: Thank you for both review and critique! I definitely need to stick to a smaller number of speakers. Maybe both. The smuggling idea sounds great! Thank you for all the suggestions :)
Light Shadow and Weirdness: Thank you! I have the biggest weakness for stories where fantasy and reality collide. They're like cat nip for me. Thanks also for the idea, I hadn't even considered ghosts smuggling?
Episode 16
"Tina Tori here with Isamu Diaz at Ghost Station to bring you breaking news: GIW Leader Agent L was arrested for coercion of a minor, illegal detainment of underage citizens, arrest without a trial – "
" – And so many more listing them would take the whole episode Tina."
"While their retirement agreement from last week's episode cleared them of their crimes against ghosts, it didn't include crimes against the living: the Fentons, the Mansons, our new Mayor –"
" – And our new interviewee. Please welcome Dr. Garcia. We're thankful to have you here and not in jail."
"It's good to be both Mr. Diaz. You don't realize how horrible a leader we've been cursed with until the new one helps you sue the pants off your jailers."
"So word has spread. Without an official shield for their crimes it looks like the GIW are the ones on trial. How does that feel Dr.?"
"Freedom always feels good, Ms. Tori, but I'd rather they realize how wrong they are and treat ghosts like people. I'd also rather research grants rained down from the sky though."
"Here, here. But, while it didn't fall from the sky, you have gotten a great research grant. Want to elaborate on that? With the GIW gone we've got a gaping hole in Amity's handle on hostile hauntings."
"Nothing to do with ghost hunting. Now that ghosts are officially recognized as people, hunting them becomes as horrifically illegal as hunting the living. No, what is on the docket now is a peace keeping force focused on de-escalation in emergencies and reformation."
"Really? Is this a potential career for the Fentons? Or will Phantom's age come into play? Or his parents' unknowing attempts to rip their own son apart molecule by molecule?"
"Yes."
"Are you going to elaborate on that answer Dr. Garcia?"
"Are you going to give me the reprieve from questions to do so Mr. Diaz? Yes? Good. So the conference did argue those points before delegating them to myself and the budding peace keepers. While Danny Phantom has the heroic heart and powers, he really shouldn't have the weight of the world on his underage shoulders. Especially when we can help or find others who can."
"I'm sure Dr's Fenton would be eager to lift that burden from their son's shoulders?"
"That may be Ms. Tori but they were just as eager with that molecule ripping and changing their minds for one half-ghost isn't enough. They've already proposed and been disposed."
"Will the Dr's Fenton be brought up on similar charges as the GIW? Considering Phantom's identity revelation, prison might be a kinder punishment than their own consciences. Bad enough they hunted down an actual kid but their own son? Ouch."
"I don't know the Mayor's plans for any non-GIW ghost hunters yet, only that our budding committee rejected their proposal."
"And I suppose Red Huntress for similar reasons."
"She has changed her tune more recently but she refuses to reveal her identity and believe me, a lack of legal identity makes for a nightmare to hire. The good thing is we don't have to beg you get back to ghost hunting Ms. Tori. As soon as this peace force was proposed, three delegates offered their own peacekeeper's services."
"Really…no way? Queen Pandora, King Frostbite and Queen Dorathea?"
" – have all offered their finest knights, healers and paladins to protect both ghosts and humans as part of the trade deal."
"Now that's ironic. But perhaps fitting – Amity Park will now be protected by ghosts?"
"Not only ghosts Mr. Diaz. The peace keeping force will be open to anyone who is interested, capable and approved – their prior history of human and ghostly interaction will obviously be examined to make sure they don't shoot their colleagues or any innocents they're protecting."
"Might be a problem for most ghost hunters."
"Most ghost hunters behavior flies in the face of any diplomatic solution – no offense Ms. Tori – "
"None taken, I left the business for similar reasons."
"Perhaps you'll want to get back into a slightly different business? The ideal peacekeeper is someone dedicated to de-escalating violent situations, reforming violent individuals and, if necessary, with the capability to subdue ghosts or humans. A tough line for most ex-ghost hunters to tow but you might be an exception."
"Trying to steal my partner Dr. Garcia. Ah, I can't blame you, especially when our other likely candidates like Sam Manson and Tucker Foley are still underage. Though even if Sam weren't, being majority shareholder of one of America's largest companies would take up too much of her time."
"True, but you are forgetting another ideal candidate this new peace-keeping force has contacted: Jasmine Fenton. A psychologist in training who became a hero to help her little brother after figuring out his secret identity. Since then she's been doing her best to help ghosts and humans…which makes sense since Danny is both."
"Now she just needs to graduate Tina."
"And soon, because the other half of Danny's revelation still hasn't been solved – Vlad Masters has been charged with crimes ranging from corporate theft to election fraud to multiple assaults of minors – has yet to turn himself in. While peace talks were going on between out new Mayor and ghosts, the old half-ghost Mayor has refused police custody and all they can do is add resisting arrest to his crimes."
"Some even say situations like Vlad are why we need the GIW. Or Danny Phantom. Or both."
"The GIW wouldn't have done any good Mr. Diaz. During my own research I've dug into their track record and they have never caught a ghost anywhere near Vlad Plasmius's power."
"Well let's hope our new and improved team is up to the job. Thank you for everything Dr. Garcia. Do you have time for one last question?"
"Which one?"
"Our original one actually. Ghosts: Good or evil?"
"To that, I'd ask: Humans – Good or evil?"
"Good one! But the world's best philosophers haven't managed that one so I doubt we'll do so here on Ghost Station. Until next time, this is Isamu Diaz."
"And Tina Tori with your news on all things ghost."
A/N: Dr. Garcia ended up being a much bigger deal than I'd thought with her trial and everything so I thought it fitting to give her some closure with an interview. I also wanted to dig into the replacement for the GIW and who is and isn't going to be hired, cause I know that was an interesting topic too. Finally I thought it fitting for Dr. Garcia, arrested by the old ghost busters, to have a hand shaping the new.
Hope everyone enjoyed!
