A petite brunette pushed the limits of the vehicle that she had 'borrowed'. Leonora Elaine gritted her teeth, biting back a snarl as she wove through the throngs of traffic and tourists bustling throughout the Big Easy. She needed to make it in time before her sire did something incredibly stupid. She owed him a lot after he had saved her, changing her, and mentoring her. He had guarded her and cared for her in the two years that she had spent at his side.

Something had changed however, he had received a phone call two months back from Tristan and Aurora. They began poisoning his mind and plotting. He hated them, but she knew that he resented and hated the Mikaelsons more. Her hands gripped the steering wheel tightly, and her blue eyes flashed in irritation as she turned the corner towards the address she had gotten from Lucien's address book.

Tires squealed as she pulled to an abrupt stop in front of what she knew was the Abattoir. The home of the Mikaelsons and the seat of their power here in New Orleans. Lucien had made sure that she had received an entire history lesson of his sire line and all of the enemies that she would have to watch out for.

Leonora hopped out of the car and ignored the looks that she was receiving as she walked towards the door quickly. Dressed casually in a jersey maxi dress, she didn't stick out too much, but she found that she did not care.

Knocking, she turned her back to the door and watched as the locals observed both her and her flashy sports car that she had taken from Lucien's house in Miami. She hoped he wouldn't mind.

"What do you have here?" a warm voice asked.

Leonora looked over her shoulder and found Marcel Gerard leaning against the door frame looking her over curiously. She could hear the voices deeper in the building and kept her face calm. She just hoped that she wasn't too late.

"Pardon my intrusion, but I'm looking for someone," she began carefully, with a small smile.

"Where is she?" Aurora snarled. "You let that little cretin come here?" she shrieked in fury.

Leonora braced herself and stepped back. She smirked when she saw Marcel's shocked look on his face. Leonora grinned, snapping a nearby fence post and whirled, dropping to a knee and ramming the post up and through Aurora's chest and out her back, taking her heart out at the same time.

"Damnit!" Leonora hissed. "Now I've got that bitch's blood on me."

"Aurora!" Tristan roared in fury. "You!"

Leonora straightened and waited. She hadn't set out to take out anyone on her journey here, she just meant to speak to Lucien. However, she couldn't and wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take out Tristan and Aurora. A threat to her sire was a threat to her survival.

"What have you done?" Tristan whispered, staring at his sister's impaled body. "We taught you, mentored you, and this is how you repay us?"

"I did exactly as you taught me," she smirked darkly. "She attacked me and as taught, I defended myself and removed the threat. It's not my fault the crazy bitch can't fight."

"I'll kill you," he snarled.

Lucien appeared in front of her, crouched protectively. "Kitten, you really shouldn't have come." He murmured firmly.

"I came here to stop you from doing something stupid," she sneered. "How was I supposed to know you'd be with tweedle psycho and tweedle crazy."

"Leonora!" he stated firmly, watching Tristan begin to circle them. "Now is not the time, love."

Tristan took that moment to race towards Lucien and throw the other man out of the way, but Leonora was waiting for him. She kicked out as hard as possible, kicking him right in the crotch, dropping him to his knees. With a swipe of her hand, his head rolled off of his shoulders and his corpse dropped.

"Honestly," she murmured with a grimace. "Anyone have something I can wipe their blood off with?"

"Who the bloody Hell are you?" Klaus looked at her in shock. "Explain, Lucien!"

"I had no idea that she would come here, Klaus." Lucien said, brushing himself off. "I sired Leonora two years ago and she's been with me ever since."

"You mean to tell me that a baby vampire just took out Tristan and Aurora?" Elijah asked incredulously. "How is it even possible?"

"After Lucien saved my life, he took me under his wing," Leonora said quietly. "He made sure to teach me and train me. Tristan and Aurora were part of that training."

"Forgive me, love. But correct me if I'm wrong," Klaus began with a smirk. "Aurora did not seem to be pleased to have you here."

"Chick was batshit crazy," Leonora shrugged. "It's not my fault she tried to take a bite out of me and I took exception to it."

Lucien chuckled deeply. "It was a bit more than that, love. You embarrassed her and tossed her around in the middle of a Strix event. Hence your own invitation."

"What?" Elijah asked curiously, looking her over with a keen eye. "A baby vampire in the Strix?" he asked with a grin.

"Why are you here?" Klaus demanded.

"I came here to stop Lucien from doing something stupid," she replied dryly. "No, don't even try to deny it. Those two morons would have brought you down. Call it self-preservation but going along with whatever messed up plan they've concocted will only end up with all of us dead."

"Now is not the time, kitten." Lucien said firmly.

"Now is the perfect time," she replied, looking him straight in the eye.

"Elijah, you need to reign in the Strix, they've planning to overthrow your family and end the sire lines. Aya, in particular, is holding a grudge. Once that is done, they want to kill all of you."

"What did you just say," Klaus gritted out, crowding her.

Lucien pushed himself between Klaus and Leonora. "Back off, mate." Lucien said firmly. "Apparently Leonora has picked her side. She's not lying."

"And what of you, Lucien?" Klaus asked calmly. "What was your part in this?"

Marcel watched the group curiously. "She's not just a vampire, is she?" he asked.

Leonora smirked at him, "Why would you say that?"

The clacking of heels and booted feet interrupted them. Kol and Davina entered from one side of the building and Rebeka came in from the other. The group stopped and looked at the fallen bodies in the courtyard.

"Looks like we missed a party," Kol said with a grin.

"Not now, Kol." Klaus rolled his eyes. "Now tell me, love. What are you?"

"A vampire," Leonora grinned. "With a little bit extra."

"And what might that be, dear?" Elijah asked with a small smile tugging at his mouth.

Leonora wiggled her fingertips and the bodies of Tristan and Aurora caught aflame. "Part vampire, part witch," she replied.

"How?" Kol breathed, coming to stand beside her.

Shrugging, Leonora watched the corpses burn down to nothing. She could feel the power shift nearby and dropped to her knees in agony. She began coughing up blood and her insides felt like they were boiling. Leonora whimpered, trying to fight the onslaught.

"Davina!" Kol shouted. "What the bloody Hell are you doing? Stop this, now!"

Lucien dropped beside her, holding her against his chest, rocking her. "It's alright, kitten." He murmured. "I've got you."

He stood and blurred her away as Davina dropped her torture spell. Lucien raced through the compound and laid her gently on the bed he had slept in the night before. Turning he found Elijah and Klaus coming in behind him. Elijah tossed him a couple of blood bags. Rebeka went into the adjoining bathroom and grabbed a washcloth to help clean up the smaller girl.

"Her, love." Lucien said, cradling Leonora against his chest. "You need to drink this."

Leonora whimpered and turned her head away from the blood bag. Kol watched from the door unsure of what to think or feel. He had never seen Davina snap before. The fact that she had lashed out at an innocent girl for no reason did not sit well with him. Her reasoning irked him as well. Leonora would be considered a heretic by witches' standards, but that was no reason to lash out at the poor girl.

Klaus leaned against the wall watching his first sire with the young woman. Glancing over he saw that his siblings were also observing the pair. Elijah nodded to Klaus and the pair left the room. The Mikaelson siblings left Lucien with his sireling.

"We owe the girl a debt of gratitude," Elijah said softly. "She took out two of the biggest threats to our family."

"The baby vampire killed Aurora and Tristan?" Kol asked incredulously.

Klaus gave a rare, dimpled grin, "The little one did indeed."

"How is it possible that she is a vampire, but also a witch?" Kol asked, they could hear the longing and jealousy in his voice.

"We do not know," Elijah answered carefully. "Has Davina been escorted off of the premises?"

"I made sure that she made it home," Marcel replied, coming into the room. "She understands that what she did was uncalled for."

"Oh, come off it," Klaus snarled. "She attacked the girl without cause or justification!"

"Agreed," Lucien said, coming into the room.

"How is she?" Elijah asked.

"She's currently unconscious." Lucien replied worriedly. "She refuses to feed."

"Lucien," Klaus began with a furrowed brow. "Baby vampires need to feed regularly. Particularly if they've been injured."

"Yes, Niklaus." Lucien growled back. "I am very much aware. She is not the first that I have sired. However, she is the only of my direct sirelings left."

"How did you meet the girl?" Elijah asked. "It is not like you to take to someone as you have this girl."

Sighing tiredly, Lucien ran a hand over his face. "Hers is not a story that I wish to speak of," he replied gruffly.

"Lucien!" Klaus demanded.

"Fine!" he snarled. "She was studying abroad for a semester two years ago. Her roommate was dating someone who turned out to be a vampire. He took an interest in Leonora, which upset the roommate. The pair planned their attack on her, but did not count on anyone intervening. I heard her screams from a street over and investigated. When I found her, the roommate was dead, and the vampire was in the process of attacking her."

"Did he?" Rebeka paused.

"It had not gotten that far, but his intent was obvious." Lucien growled. "I killed the blighter, but he had fatally injured Leonora. I gave her my blood and gave her a choice. She's been at my side since."

Before he could finish the story they heard a piercing scream ring out in the compound. Lucien was already out of the room before the others could react. He blurred through and into the room. His head whipped around searching for Leonora.

On the balcony, Davina was standing there with a sneer on her face. Marcel rushed her and grabbed her. He blurred her away before the Mikaelsons or Lucien could react.

"What have you done?" he demanded.

"She shouldn't exist!" Davina shrieked.

"I can't protect you now, D." Marcel said sadly. "What you've just done, I can't protect you. You're going to need to run."

The Mikaelsons and Lucien searched the entire compound but could not find any trace of Leonora. As Marcel took Davina they heard the screech of tires in the distance, but it was not until later that they linked the two.

Leonora awoke to the familiar pain of her insides feeling aflame. She screamed in agony and blurred from the room. Ignoring the rapidly approaching footfalls, she was out of the compound and in the car before anyone could react. Once she was out of the sightline of the witch, the pain dissipated.

Turning the ignition, the engine roared to life. Pulling away from the curb she sped off. With no destination in mind. Leonora's survival instincts were in full force. When the unfamiliar witch had showed up to attack her in the room that Lucien had put her in, she blurred away. Luckily, she hadn't unpacked anything from the car and kept the keys on her when she had arrived. Her only thought was to get away.

With no clear destination in mind, she drove out of the city limits and headed West. She had a bolt hole in Galveston, Texas that would be perfect. As Lucien had taught her, she had procured a number of properties globally that she could escape to if needed. She hoped that she could be out of the state shortly and to stop somewhere to grab a bite before making her way to her coastal home in Texas.

Meanwhile, Lucien was out of his mind with worry. Any plots or plans he had were gone with the arrival of Leonora. She had become like a sister to him and reminded him of his younger sister from his human days. He needed to find her and to make sure that she was safe.

"We will find her, Lucien." Elijah assured him. "She couldn't have gotten far."

"She's injured, has not fed, and is running in fear." Lucien snarled. "I ought to kill the little witch that did this!"

Marcel returned and bowed his head submissively. "I have retracted my protection from Davina," he said hoarsely. "She understands that she is on her own now. I don't know what has gotten into her or how she even got back here so fast, but I swear to you I left her at the church."

"I need to go find her," Lucien said urgently. "I have to make sure that Leonora is alright."

"With everything that is going on here with the different factions, it would be prudent for most of us to remain here," Elijah said carefully. "Even with the threat of Aurora and Tristan gone, Leonora said that the Strix and others are making their move soon."

Lucien nodded to them and grabbed his own set of keys before blurring to where his car had been parked. He was startled to find Kol beside him. They had never particularly gotten along and he was not sure that he could trust the youngest Mikaelson male, however any assistance in finding and protecting his sireling was welcome.

"Your baby vampire is going to need help," Kol said gruffly. "My siblings should be able to handle things here well enough. I'll join you in finding Leonora."

"Thank you," Lucien said uncomfortably.

"Don't mention it." Kol replied with a sneer. "I mean really do not mention it ever."
