AN: Hey ya'll. First things first, I am writing part 2 to Lost, but trying to decide what it should be about. Any suggestions? I also have a question, if there was anything I could do to improve my stories, what would it be?

Anyway, on to the story…

I own nothing. All rights go to prospective owners. Just playing with the stories.

Summary: A meteor shower hits Washington changing the lives of two people forever.

2006

Bella stares upon the people she once considered family. Carlisle was the first to move forward, pulling her into a hug. "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for this family," Bella smiles warmly. "Of course…which is why I don't think I can be a part of it," She states firmly, looking into his golden eyes.

Carlisle's brows raised in surprise. Bella stepped away, looking around at their faces. Alice was surprised, tilting her head. Jasper and Rosalie seemed sad, but somewhat relieved. Esme and Emmett were equally upset. Carlisle while surprised seemed understanding.

Edward…

He had no emotion on his face as he stared at her.

Bella swallowed, looking away from him. "I thank you for sharing your life with me, but after everything that happened, I can't do this. He won't turn me, and I realized that this life isn't for me. Going to risk my life for him in that way….I've learned that this isn't my destiny. You all just left. Left me behind yet called me family. Family leaves no one behind. The love you have for me will never be the love I have for you. I put Charlie through hell these last few months, and when faced with death…I've done nothing with my life. Edward and I will never be equals and I've come to accept that. Your secret is safe with me, and always will be,"

She turned to Alice, "Will the Volturi be a problem?" Alice frowned, and shook her head. "No, I can't see their decision once they learn of this, but I do know that the outcome will not affect you or us negatively. Goodbye Bella," Alice whispered, engulfing her in a gentle hug.

Bella made her rounds of goodbyes, kissing Edward's cheek in passing. She left the Cullen home, getting into her truck, pulling out of the driveway. She had a good 30 minutes until she got home, and she turned on the radio fiddling with the stations as she drove down the dark road.

She felt like she made the right decision.

She was the only car on the road, and her lights flashed down the street, illuminating the road. She stopped fiddling with the radio, her eyes widening as the night sky brightened to an orange hue. The radio started to static out, and she pulled over to the side of the road in confusion.

She looked at the radio in shock as someone started delivering nightly news. Please…stay off the…Washington has been hit…me..teor..sh…take shelter…

Her mind immediately went to Charlie and she quickly got back on the road, pushing her truck to its limit. It groaned in protest, and Bella gasped as a large, fiery object fell from the sky, crashing into the road, causing her to step on the breaks. The truck spun around, coming to a halt barely missing the large meteor.

She just sat there in shock staring at the large rock. She was shaken out of her stupor as more flying meteors rained down. "Oh my god..." She whispered, unclasping her seatbelt, and throwing herself out of the vehicle, barely managing to clear the area before her truck was flattened.

She flew back at the impact, rolling across the ground. She brought herself back up with a wince, seeing as the ground scraped off some skin on her arm. She looked around her, her eyes watering as the sky rained fire.

She was determined though. She looked up, running forward, hoping to avoid getting crushed to death. She stuck to the edge of the woods, running for her life. Her heart beat fast, legs burning as she ran, maneuvering her way around trees and other meteors that had fallen in her path.

Her mind was on one thing only, and she prayed that he was safe. Dirt and asphalt got in her hair as she ran, her body covered in ash, and other things she didn't dare acknowledge. A meteor landed a few feet in front of her, sending her stumbling back.

Her ears were ringing, and she looked up to gauge her next move only to freeze as a meteor was heading straight for her. The wind was knocked out of her body as something crashed into her. She went rolling, grunting out as she rolled across the ground.

Swiping the hair from her face, she met brown eyes. She looked to the right of her to see that where she was standing moments ago was a large crater. She looked back down at the man that saved her. He had short black hair and a semi-shaven face.

"Thanks," She breathed. The man just grunted out as he gave her a tense smile. "Not that I mind…but your knee…" He motioned his eyes downward, and Bella scrambled off of him as she was kneeing him in the crotch. "Sorry!" She reached for his hand, and he took it, bringing himself to his feet.

"We need to take cover," He murmured, looking around. "I need to find my dad!" She yelled over the soaring and loud bangs. The man just shook his head. "You won't make it in this! Come on!" He grabbed her hand, and Bella didn't have much choice but to follow.

They dodged fires and debris, the man seeming to have someplace in mind. They ran through the woods for god knows how long. At one point, he grabbed her by the waist, twirling them around, barely missing a hit.

He hunched over her to shield her from splintering rocks. He led her deeper into the woods, and they finally came upon a shack-like home. "How is this still standing?" She asks as he led her to the door. He opened the door, pushing her inside. He came in after her, pushing the door closed.

Bella stumbled, gripping onto him as the ground shook. He gripped her arm, steadying her as they rocked about. The man let out a deep breath, scrubbing a hand down his face. "Are you hurt?" He asked, checking her over. Bella shook her head. "A few scrapes, nothing major,"

He nodded, letting her go. He went to the window, looking at the world fall apart. Bella came up beside him, her eyes stinging with tears. "Is this the end?" She questions. The man slowly nods, "I think so…" Bella let out a breath.

"What's your name?" Bella softly asks. The man looked down at her peculiarly. "Bruce Banner," Bella just hummed, holding out her hand. "Bella Swan," She whispered. He shook her hand, swallowing at this electric charge that flowed through him.

Bella's eyes widened, clearly feeling it too. She pulled her hand away. "Sorry…" He just chuckled. Bella could tell that he was an older man, maybe early 30s. He led her to the couch, sitting her down and she followed him with her eyes as he stepped into what looked like a small kitchen.

She looked around the cabin, seeing nothing to even indicate he stayed there other than a bookshelf and a blanket that laid on the couch. He came back a few minutes later with two steaming mugs. "Tea?" He asks, and Bella accepts gratefully.

"Thank you," She says, scooting over as he sits down next to her. They were quiet for the moment, listening to the sounds of destruction outside. The silence was slowly started to make Bella antsy, and she looked down at her mug then to Bruce. "Anyone out there looking for you?" She asks, flinching as she could see a meteor fly right by.

Bruce shook his head. "No. You? Besides your dad?" Bella just shook her head. "How old are you?" She questions next, and Bruce took a sip from his mug. "37," Bella's brows raised. "Ah, I was close. I was thinking early 30s," Bruce chuckled. "Alright, I'll guess your age. Let me see…" He peered over at her, and Bella couldn't help but blush at his attentive gaze.

"23," He guessed, waiting to see if he was right. Bella smiled, shaking her head. "18," Bruce almost spit out his drink, snorting instead, slightly choking. Bella sat her glass down on the table, patting at his back. "Are you alright?" She asks concerned, lowering her brows as he just nodded. "Just didn't think you were that young," Bella shrugged. "Yeah well…"

Bruce leaned back against the couch, staring over at her. "Well, if we're going to spend our last night alive together, might as well make it interesting," He then proceeded to ask her simple questions like her favorite color, her favorite food, and so forth. Bella asked him questions in return, both of them retelling their lives, of course leaving out a few details like turning into a raging green beast and dating a vampire.

They learned that they had a lot of similarities. They were quiet people, preferred to be in the background and observe. They both had a love for science, and Bella was impressed to learn that he was a doctor. "I bet you got all the ladies," She teased. Bruce shrugged, "Not exactly. What bout you? Pretty girl like you in a small town like this…"

Bella softly laughed, "I won't lie, I got a lot of attention from the high school boys. There was one guy though that before today I would say I was in love with him. Would've done anything for him. God this is going to sound so pathetic," She whispered with a chuckle.

"Let me hear it," Bruce urged, his attention now glued to her. "I used to throw myself at him. You know? Waiting for him to break one of his morals… and let loose like the teenagers we were…" Bruce eyes widened slightly, looking her over slowly. "Are you telling me he never…at all?" He questions, thinking to himself that whoever this boy was, was an idiot.

Bella shook her head. "He'd give me these little chaste kisses here and there and as soon as things would get heated, he'd pull away. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be telling you this," She blushed. Bruce shrugged, leaning forward now. "It's not like anyone else is going to hear it," Bella nodded in agreement. "You've got a point. He was a sweet guy, sometimes. He constantly worried about me, and at first it was cute, but after a while, it was a bit tiresome. He was my first love though so…I think it was all mental for him rather than physical…"

Bruce could somewhat relate. While he was afraid at first of hurting them, he soon learned how to calm himself enough without worrying the Hulk would make an appearance. Some women found him intriguing when learning that he was a massive beast if pushed far enough, and to some women it was a challenge.

Not everyone knew who he was, but with cellphones out and everyone recording everything, it was hard to hide. It was the reason he came to Forks. It was a small town and while they knew the Hulk existed, they didn't exactly know who he was.

"I understand all too well," He replied. Bella glanced over at him. "No way you're a 37-year-old virgin," Bruce reared back in surprise. "You're kidding," He replied astonished. Bella nodded. "Yep, I'm going to die a virgin…that's just…sad," She whispered.

Bruce let out a laugh, and Bella hit him the arm. "So not funny!" He calmed himself, still chuckling as he gazed upon her. There was something about her that he found intriguing. They both quieted as they stared at one another. He reached over, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. "There's a shower in the bedroom if you want to freshen up. You keep pulling at your pants,"

Bella looked down at her hand, blushing. "I guess showering is normal during the end of the world," She murmured. "Wouldn't know," Bruce replied. "Do you have anything I can wear?" She asked, looking at him. The orange sky hit him just right, and Bella's breath caught in her throat. "If it's alright with you…I don't think you'll be needing any…"

Holy shit…Bella thought.

Bella just blinked. "You really want to…?" She asked surprised. "If it's what you want, sure. I couldn't think of a better way to go out," Bella bit her bottom lip, taking him up on his offer. He showed her the way, and Bruce leaned against the couch in thought. He wasn't sure if he'd die. Could he withstand fire? He was pretty damn indestructible, but was he that indestructible?

He watched Bella walk away, tilting his head. Never in a million years would he do this. Yet this wasn't everyday life. There was just something primal in him that said this was what he wanted.

Bella was a nervous wreck as she stepped out of the bathroom, her fingers clinging onto the towel. She took a deep breath, calming herself. She stepped into Bruce's bedroom, stopping in her tracks at the mere sight of him. She used to find Edward handsome, but there was something about older men, specifically Bruce that made her knees weak. He was standing by the bed in his striped button-down shirt, rolling up his sleeves. Bella found that action alone incredibly sexy, her eyes roaming over him.

He took off his glasses, setting them down on the nightstand. He ran a hand through his hair, and once again, the fire from the forest in the distance graced him in a bright light. She swallowed heavily. He looked up, sending her a smile, his eyes raking over her.

He merely crooked a finger in her direction, beckoning her forward. Bella complied, standing before him. She blushed tomato red as he looked upon her more closely. He gently pried her fingers from the towel, removing it in one swoop.

The urge to cover herself was there, and started to do so, but he stopped her with a hand. "Don't," He met her eyes then. "You're beautiful," He said it with such passion and meaning, it had Bella shuddering in anticipation.

He gently touched her face, caressing her cheek. He stepped closer to her, and Bella grasped onto his shirt as he tilted her chin up. The first thing he did was kiss her. Bella closed her eyes as his lips molded against hers sensually. Bella just went with her instincts, letting him lead, moaning softly as his tongue caressed her lips.

He put one arm around her waist, lifting her off the floor. He used his other hand to reach for her leg, pulling her against him. Bella wrapped her arms around his neck, rocking against him. He continued to kiss her heatedly, running his hands along her sides.

Bella shuddered against him, throwing her head back at the sensitivity. Bruce kissed down her neck, gently nipping at her skin. He gripped her hips as he made his way down her neck. "Bruce…" She whimpers out, and Bruce gently laid her on the bed, never breaking contact with her skin.

He kissed down her body slowly, grinning into her skin as she squirmed underneath him. Little moans left her mouth as she gripped his hair. He kissed down each leg, spreading them with his hands, her scent hitting head-on.

He froze for a moment, closing his eyes. When he opened them, he couldn't help but dive right in, lifting her legs over his shoulder's. Bella became a puddle of goo as his tongue worked below, quickly bringing her to release.

He didn't stop there, wanting to have her prepared. He leaned up a bit, his eyes flashing to her flushed skin. Her eyes were closed, mouth parted. He slipped a finger inside, his finger becoming coated in mere seconds. He slowly worked her up once more, the sounds from outside no longer registering to him.

He lost count of how many times she came, and Bruce could say that he'd never been more excited given the circumstances. This wasn't like him, not at all, but even he didn't want to fight this strange feeling. Bella leaned up on her elbows, watching him put a finger into his mouth, his eyes connecting with hers.

Bella just swallowed as he undressed, realizing he was very muscular but wasn't one of those men with washboard abs. He was obviously fit. It fit him. Her eyes traveled down, and she swallowed once again as he stood bare before her.

She sat up, getting on her knees. Bruce guided her hand as she familiarized herself with him. He let her curiously get a feel, closing his eyes at the sensation. Bella ran her thumb over the head, looking up as Bruce groaned out.

He opened his eyes, looking down at her. He gently guided her back down on the bed, crawling on top of her. He slowly kissed her, his hands gently running along her breasts to get her a bit more comfortable. He guided himself inside slowly, letting her body get accustomed to the feel of him. Bella wrapped her arms around his neck, burrowing her face in his arm. "Relax," He soothed in her ear, running a hand down her side, feeling her uncoil. "That's it. You're alright?" He asked. She nodded, closing her eyes as he slipped further in.

He kissed her neck again, leaving a trail of teeth marks in his wake. Bella whispered his name, and he had to stop himself for a moment. He placed a kiss over her heart, swiftly pushing his way through the rest of the way, coming to a complete stop as she hissed and heavily swallowed.

He wiped away a tear that slipped down her cheek. He waited patiently until Bella was ready. She experimentally moved her hips, a sharp breath leaving her lips at the feeling. Bruce set a slow pace, taking his time; hoping it felt as good for her as it did for him.

She panted with each slow thrust, her eyes shut tightly, her light voice shrouding over him like a cloud. She moaned out his name repeatedly, and he could hear her over the commotion outside. He kissed her lips, feeling her fingers dig into his flesh as she wrapped her legs around him.

He gritted his teeth, and Bella missed the flash of green in his eyes as she came. He picked up the pace a bit, leaning up on his knees, pulling her downward. "Fuck," He groaned out, grabbing her hips, keeping with his steady pace.

Bella flooded him again, crying out as he ran his thumb over her clit. Bruce slowed down as he came, breathing heavily. Bella stared at him with hooded eyes, a lazy smile on her face. "Well…that's what that feels like," She murmurs. Bruce chuckled, pulling out of her. He leaned back over her, kissing her lips before pulling her up the bed. They laid down, completely spent. Bella ran her hands along his chest, and he raked his fingers through her hair.

The Earth didn't stop shaking, and the booming sounds echoed in the wind. Bruce stared out of the window wondering why he had such sorry luck. "Thank you," She whispered, laying her head on his chest. He kissed her hair.

It rained fire all night long, and they both wondered when that big strike would hit. Neither could really sleep, and Bruce took Bella's mind off the worst-case scenarios when he could. They talked more and soaked up as much as they could about each other.

They weren't sure when they fell asleep. Bella was the first to wake, the blue sky shining in the window. She rolled out of his hold, going over to the window. Her eyes widened outside, seeing all the craters around. Everything was destroyed.

"Bruce…" Bella called out, looking over her shoulder. He was still sleeping, and Bella got back into the bed, shaking him awake. "Bruce!" She called again, moving back as he sprang up. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, blinking at her confused.

"What's wrong?" Bella pointed towards the window. Bruce got up, going over to the window himself. "Jesus…" He murmured. "Yeah…we're not dead," Bella whispers, relief hitting her like a ton of bricks. She stood on the bed, wrapping her arms around his neck. He held her hand, kissing her fingers.

Bruce and Bella walked down the deserted road, looking around them. "I feel like I'm in a horror movie," Bella whispers, looking around for any people. There were barely any trees standing, and the ground looked like swiss cheese. There wasn't a sign of life anywhere. They travel towards Charlie's, the two holding hands along the way, awed at what transpired around them.

Bella could see Charlie's house from afar. The house was in shambles, every bit of it crumbled to the ground. Bruce let her hand go as she ran in that direction, following after her. Bella stopped at the edge of the property, breathing heavily, praying that Charlie wasn't under any of the debris.

Bruce looked everything over, unsure of where to even start. He laid a calming hand on Bella's shoulder, bringing her against his chest as she looked to be losing it. "I don't think he was in there, okay?" He soothed, a frown on his face.

Bella nods, pulling away as she turned in a big circle, running a hand through her hair. "Oh my god," Bella suddenly took off behind him, and he turned to see her running up to a man in police uniform. "Dad," Bella sighed, wrapping Charlie in a hug. Charlie kissed her hair in relief, checking her over. "God," He murmured, squeezing her to him.

Bruce smiled softly, and grabbed his backpack, trying to slink away without being seen. He didn't necessarily want to say goodbye, but the place would be swarming with more cops, maybe even military personnel. "Wait!" Bella called after him, and he turned, catching her as she stumbled into him. "You're leaving," Bella whispered, motioning towards his bag. Bruce nodded. "Yeah, find somewhere else and hope it doesn't look like this,"

Bella chuckled. "Well, apparently, we were the only ones hit. Everyone else is just living life…I'm going to miss you," She states, meeting his eyes. He swipes his thumb under her eye. "Goodbye Bella," He kisses her cheek, not wanting to be disrespectful in front of her father.

He's surprised as she pulls on his shirt, bringing him down to meet her lips. She kissed him just as passionately as he kissed her the night before. She broke away with a smile. "Goodbye, Bruce,"

Bella sat down huddled with the others, watching the news as the diner she was in was partly blown to smithereens. "Oh my god," She gasped.

Bruce Banner was down below in the heart of the attack. He was saying something to Captain America before he suddenly grew, turning into a large green…man?

"Holy shit," She whispered. The tiny child in her lap cuddled closer as the buildings around them shook. "I want my mommy," The little boy cried. Bella sighed, eyeing the fallen debris, catching the manicured hand under it. "I know sweetie," Bella whispered.

5 Months Later

Bruce stood amongst the white home wondering what the hell he was doing here. It's been 6 years since he's been here, and he could tell the town had since built itself back up. It looked a bit different, but he could tell the Town of Forks was doing good for itself.

Over the past few years, he'd been drawn back to this place, and as much as he tried to convince himself that it wasn't because of the young woman he shared a passionate night with, he knew it was. After the attack in New York, he had to come see. See how she was doing. He just felt the need to lay eyes on her.

He stopped short though at the For Sale sign on the lawn. Well, this is a bust. He thought. As he turned around to get in his car, he noticed an older woman across the street. She waved, and Bruce decided to see if she knew anything.

"Good morning," He called, walking towards her. She smiled at him. "Do you by chance know what happened to the previous owners? He was a cop I believe. He had a daughter. Bella," The woman's eyes lit up before she frowned. "Ah yes. Chief Swan passed away a few years ago in the line of duty. His daughter sold the house before she slipped on out of town. You just missed her. She was here a few days ago at the cemetery,"

Bruce frowned. "Do you happen to know where she lives now?" The woman shook her head. "She comes and goes just like that,"

2013

Bella stared at May Parker with an open mouth. "May!" She says, choking on her water. "Well, I'm just stating the obvious honey. You're in love with someone, and you need to tell them that," Bella lifted her eyes to Peter who shook his head at his aunts' antics.

"Aunt May, leave Bella alone," After graduating from Fork High, she moved to New York and obtain a degree at NYU. There she met Peter where they became fast friends. Aunt May loved her from the start. When Charlie died, it hit Bella hard, and Peter and May took her in, helping her through the rough time.

Peter helped Bella get a job working as a lab assistant for their school. They were currently eating breakfast in the kitchen when May had pointed out that Bella hadn't dated anyone, nor showed any interest in the men that wanted her attention. She could see a look in her eyes that May knew all too well.

Bruce wasn't the only one feeling drawn to certain places, and after seeing him fighting in an all-out alien war, he crossed her mind many times. She just didn't think it would be right to seek him out. He clearly had his own life ahead of him. She tried to tell herself that it was one night, but she couldn't deny that there was something, besides his touch that she craved.

Some part of her felt empty. She couldn't explain it.

"It was just one night May…I can't fall in love with someone in one night. A night in which I thought the world was ending," Peter shot her a look. "I really didn't want to know that," Bella rolled her eyes at him. "I didn't go into detail," Peter pushed away his plate, pointing his fork at her. "Yeah, yeah, but I know the story. It must've been some good…"

May reached over, slapping his hand. "Peter!" Bella snorted in laughter. She turned to the TV, her head shaking as yet another crime was taking place. "When will people ever stop?" She questions, turning back around to see Peter, fumbling his way upstairs. "Where does he always go in such a hurry?" Bella questions. May shrugged. Bella grabbed the dishes and started loading the dishwasher, cleaning up behind breakfast.

"We better get going too May. The bank opens in an hour,"

Bruce walked into the bank, hoping to withdraw out the rest of his savings. He planned to go to India permanently, moving this weekend. He just felt like it was the best bet. It was less stressful, and he'd still been unable to find Bella.

He convinced himself that she was probably married by now and living her life somewhere and it would be inconsiderate of him to just pop up in her life. Besides, he was an Avenger now, and that meant enemies.

He stood a few ways away from the two women in front of him. One was young, and the other was an older woman. The young woman reminded him of Bella from her hair alone. He looked down at his wallet, pulling out his ID. "Um, I think there were some slips behind us. Hold on May," Bruce snapped his head up.

He knew that voice. Sometimes he'd dream about it. The woman turned around with her head down, not seeing him until she seemed to trip over someone's shoe. Bruce reached out a hand, catching her before she could fall.

"I am so sorry," Bella murmured, lifting her head. She froze however, her eyes widening. "Bruce?" She questions, a smile on her face. Bruce smiled in return. Bella engulfed him into a hug, and her scent wafted towards him. He closed his eyes for a second, wrapping his arms around her.

He was fighting off this feeling within him, and he pulled away, keeping his hand on her waist. "God, it's been so long," She smiles, wrapping her arms around his neck. Bruce couldn't help but look her over, finding that her body had filled out more, her face filled in. Her hair had grown longer, and her lips seemed fuller.

She was still the same height, her brown eyes seemed brighter. Damn, He thought, looking down as the jeans she wore clung to her legs. She pulled away, pulling him forward. "May, I'd like you to meet someone," May turned around with a smile, shaking Bruce's hand. She eyed Bella, leaning over to whisper in her ear. "Is this him?" Bruce pretended not to hear that; his attention solely focused on Bella.

What are the odds? He thought to himself. He spent years thinking about her, hoping to see her just once, and she'd been in New York all along. "Bruce, this is May Parker," Bruce smiled at the woman, his brow crinkling at the last name. He wanted to facepalm. This couldn't have been the May Parker, aunt to Peter Parker.

"It's nice to meet you," May stated with a smile. Bruce was about to say something, but the sound of an automatic going off made him turn around in surprise. In the middle of the room stood a masked man with a gun and duffle bag. "Everybody get on the ground!" The man shot into the air again, and everyone screamed.

Bruce looked back over, pushing May and Bella down to the floor. May was squeezing Bella's hand tightly, saying a silent prayer. Bella too had her eyes shut, burrowing her face in May's hair. Something like a cord snapped within him. First, the situation was already stressful. Second, there were innocent people, a lot of elders and children, and third? He hated the mere idea of Bella being in danger. The scared look on her face made him ten times angrier.

He turned back to the man, breathing heavily. The man's eyes widened as Hulk emerged. Hulk lifted his arm over the people to his left as he knocked into the ceiling, blocking anything from falling on top of them.

The robber raised his gun, shooting at him, the bullets ricocheting off his body, some penetrating his skin only causing a slight sting. Everyone ducked and covered hiding behind objects. Hulk raised his fist, slamming his hand down on the ground, growling in agitation.

The place shook, and he swung at the man, sending him flying outside. More shots were fired from the outside and Hulk roared, stomping his way outside, smashing the cars the held the accomplices, sending them flying in different directions.

He turned around back into the bank, glancing at everyone who cowered in fright, some who clapped and cried, saying thank you. He was clearly searching though, his eyes landing on Bella and May. May was hunched over, placing her hand over Bella who was holding a hand over her chest, blood oozing onto her light blue shirt.

Hulk looked like a wounded animal, grunting out as he saw that Bella had gotten physically hurt. Iron Man suddenly appeared, calling out to everyone. "Is everyone alright?" He called, eyeing Hulk hesitantly. He watched curiously as Hulk shrunk, in his place was Bruce.

"Glad to see you Banner," Bruce just nodded, dropping down beside May, gently moving Bella's hand. "Tony, we need medics," Bruce stated, turning his head as Tony lowered himself to the floor, crouching next to him. "How bad is it?" He asked, already seeing the shock settling in across Bella's face.

"I can't tell, but near the heart. What is the medics ETA?" Tony paused as JARVIS responded. "Probably 10 minutes," Bruce shook his head, lifting Bella himself. "We don't have that kind of time. She'll bleed out," Tony placed a hand on Bruce's shoulder, raising a brow as Bruce's eyes flashed to that of a green hue.

"I'll take her. You meet us there," Bruce handed Bella over, reaching down for May. Tony started to lift himself from the ground, and Bruce stopped him. "Tony!" Tony glanced back as Bruce motioned to May. "This is May Parker," Tony's brows raised, and he nodded, taking off in flight.

Tony flew through the city, "J, call Peter,"

"Right away sir," The phone rang for a few seconds before Peter picked up. "Mr. Stark?" Tony weaved his way through buildings, trying to be as gentle as possible. "Hey kid. Your Aunt was involved in an attempted robbery. Before you freak, she's okay,"

Peter was unable to hold in his panic though. "What?! What about Bella? She took May," Tony looked down at the woman in his arms. "Is she by chance 5'3, brunette, pale?" Peter cursed.

"I'll take that as a yes. She's not looking too good kid. She's been shot. I'm at the hospital now. Banner is bringing your Aunt. He was there when it happened,"

"On my way," Peter hung up.

Tony rushed into the hospital, and a nurse sprang to attention, wheeling over a gurney. Tony placed her down and they went to work, wheeling her into the ER.

Tony scrubbed a hand down his face.

The surgery went on longer than they thought. Peter was pacing the waiting room, and May sat in the chair, watching Peter move back and forth. Tony had dropped by a few times, and Bruce stood off to the side.

"Are you sure you're okay here?" Tony asked quietly. Bruce just nodded. "Perfectly fine, I just wish they'd hurry up," Tony nodded in understanding. "Not everyone is you Banner. I've never seen you so worked up. Who is she?" Bruce rubbed the bridge of his nose. "I met her back in 2006. In Washington," Tony's brows furrowed. "Back when the meteors hit?" Bruce nodded. "I uh…we thought the world was going to end, having no idea it was just Washington, and we…you know…"

Tony wiggled his brows. "Ah….don't tell me you fell in love," Bruce rolled his eyes. "I don't know, I just…couldn't get her out of my head. I went back to visit after the alien invasion, and she moved on. I missed her by 3 days just about when I visited. She's been here all this time and I never knew,"

Tony laid a hand on his shoulder. "She'll be alright,"

A few hours went by, and the doctor finally emerged. Peter stopped his pacing, and May stood. "It was touch and go for a while, but a few inches to the left, and well…she's currently out, but she can have visitors as long as the noise level is kept down,"

Bruce let Peter and May have their time. They emerged after a few minutes; both of their eyes red from crying. Bruce slipped inside, swallowing heavily as he looked her over. He sat at her bedside, taking her hand.

He stayed there all night, eventually falling asleep.

He woke up the next morning to Tony sticking a cup of coffee in his face. "Wakey, wakey, sleeping beauty," Bruce groggily mumbled something. He took the coffee from Tony, glancing over to see Bella's bed empty.

"She's having a test done. Apparently, she woke in the middle of the night. She's a fighter. She was touched you stayed. I can see that you've got it bad, but…her? She looked at you like the stars hung the moon,"

Bruce just shook his head. "I don't know Tony. It was one night. How the hell do you feel like this years later?" Tony sat next to him. "I mean for one, it was a crazy situation. You thought you were going to die. It makes sense. For some people there's love at first sight," He shrugged.

Bruce looked up from his cup as Bella was brought in by a nurse. Both men stood, ready to help. Bella gave them a smile, her arm in a sling. "I should be saying thank you. You both saved my life," Tony proudly smiled. "It's what we do. Heal up nice, I'll be expecting a gift basket or something," He winked, grabbing his coat and leaving. "Is he always like that?" Bella questions.

Bruce nodded, helping her onto the bed. "That's Tony for you. I'm glad you're alright," Bella beamed up at him. "Feels like a bee sting," She murmurs, following him with her eyes as he sat down. They just stared at each other for a moment. "So, you're a superhero," Bella states, smiling at his expression.

"Superhero is a bit of a stretch," He chuckles. Bella laughs softly. "You are though. I was working in a diner when the alien invasion happened, huddled with everyone inside, and I saw you on TV. I think Superhero is the right word. You look good Bruce," She smiles.

Bruce raises his brows. "You were in New York when that happened? I wish I would have known…I would've…." He trailed off. "We both have our lives to live," She responds. They look up as Peter and May come in. Peter's holding some flowers.

May comes into the room, going to her side and kissing her cheek. "Glad to see you're okay," Peter came over, kissing her forehead, setting the flowers down. "Awww guys," Bella gushed. Bruce smiled, leaning back as Peter and Bella started to talk about work and what they needed to do once she healed up.

Bruce was once again warring with himself. It was clear that Bella had a good life here, and he didn't want to disrupt that. He also wanted to stay but he was weighing the options. "So, Mr. Banner, Peter has offered to help you move your things this weekend so you can be out by Monday," Bruce lifted his head, looking to Peter.

"That would be nice Mrs. Parker," Bruce found himself liking the idea because he could ask Peter to keep an eye out for Bella. Something deep in him protested though, and he fought it off. "You're leaving?" Bella asks, turning to look at him.

Bruce felt like an ass as he just nodded, seeing the look on her face. She tried to hide it, but he caught it rather quickly. "It's…safer…" He murmurs with a wince. May and Peter give them the room to talk, both understanding that the two had something serious going on, even if they didn't realize it.

"It's always goodbye isn't it?" She asks softly. Bruce frowned. "We couldn't…it's too risky…" Bella let out a sigh. "I know. You have enemies," Bruce nodded, leaning forward to caress her cheek. "I don't know what happened Bella, but every day after meeting you, you were all I could think about," Bella blushed. "So did I. I just figured you were out somewhere living your life in the middle of nowhere," She chuckles.

Bruce nodded in agreement. "I went back to Forks a few months after the invasion. I just had to see you. I missed you by a few days," Bella shook her head, meeting his eyes. "Talk about timing," She whispers. Bruce leaned up, placing a soft kiss on her lips.

Bella shakes her head as he pulls away. "Still feels the same. Don't leave without saying goodbye to me," She says, running her fingers through his hair.

"I won't,"

Bella watches as Bruce drives away, heading to the airport. She sighs, looking over as May steps outside. "So, you're letting him leave," She states, and Bella frowns. "May…it's what's best," May softly laughs. "Bella hon, sometimes we have to make the move when we want something. That man there is head over heels for you, but he wants to keep you safe,"

Bella groaned, heading back inside. "I won't do that to him May…" May shook her head. "Well, you've got 40 minutes before his flight takes off,"

30 Minutes Later

Bella runs upstairs, hoping that Peter left his car keys. She opens his room door, pausing in place as Spiderman climbs into the window, pulling off his mask. "I fucking knew it!" Bella said in a hushed tone. Peter turns to her wide-eyed. "Bella…it's…" She makes her way inside, closing the door behind her.

She circles Peter, poking him with her finger. Peter jumps as it tickles. "Please, please don't tell May," He begged. Bella reared back. "Of course not, I'm not stupid. I'll come back to this later, but I need a favor," Peter raises a brow. "I need you to get me to the airport in like 5 minutes," She hints towards his suit, and Peter grins.

He puts back on the mask, and Peter wraps an around her waist. "Hold on," Bella gets a good grip on him, a yelp leaving her as they flew out of the window. Bella squeezes his neck, closing her eyes as he sprang into the air, gliding from building to building.

"Oh my god," She groans, looking down. "Don't drop me!" She yells, hearing Peter's laugh. He grips her waist as they come soaring through the air. He stops on top of the building, letting her down. Bella just stood there for a moment, breathing heavily.

"It'll pass. I'm going to lower you down. Don't let go," Bella just nods as he connects a web to her hands, lowering her down slowly. "Watch the arm," He warned out as she hit the ground with her feet. Bella sends him a wave before darting into the building.

She looks around for Bruce's flight number, finding the direction to go in. She looked at her watch, cursing as it was just nearing the departure time. She found the terminal, stopping as the woman was closing the gate. "Excuse me…" She called to the woman, wondering about the flight. She frowned as she was informed that it had just taken off.

Bella's face fell as she watched the plane leave the runway. She said thank you and turned around.

She swallowed heavily at the person that stood before her. He was looking down at something, his face contorted in concentration. "Bruce?" She called out. He snapped his head up. He looked conflicted, and Bella forced her feet to move.

"I couldn't do it," He said softly, looking down at her with adoration. "I couldn't walk away this time," Bella pulled him by the tie, bringing him down to meet her lips. Bruce wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her flush against him. He pulled away first, resting his forehead against hers. "Why?" She asked.

Bruce sighed. "It seems the big guy and I finally agree on something," Bella smiled against him, catching the green specks in his eyes.

2014

Bella and Bruce walked through the elevator, Bella holding a basket in hand. "Ah, there you are! Oh, you listened!" Tony smiled, taking the basket from Bella's hand, kissing her cheek. Bella smiled. "Of course,"

Tony waved them on, telling them to make themselves comfortable. "Everyone else will be here in a few," Bella and Bruce made their way to the balcony, staring out at the city below. "It's nice out here," She says, looking at the city lights. Tony discreetly turned down the lights, and put on some soft jazz, waving everyone in.

Tony was hosting a party, really with the Avengers and their few guests. Bella assumed they were waiting for everyone to show, but really, this was all planned out by Bruce. Everyone came out quietly, watching the pair softly speak.

"Bella?" Bruce questioned, and Bella hummed, turning to him. He pointed to the sky where a blimp was passing by with the words Say Yes flashing. She turned back to him, her eyes widening as he was down on one knee. He had a ring in his hand, wearing one of the brightest smiles on his face.

"No more goodbyes. So, what do you say?" Bella nods immediately, "Yes!" She squeals, her hand shaking as Bruce slipped it on her finger. He stood back up, bringing her in for a kiss.

Bella jumped as everyone cheered, turning red at the attention. She had gotten quite used to the Avengers, finding that she got along well with the women, and the men didn't treat her any different. They were like a rowdy family. Peter spun her around, and Bella laughed.

Her eyes caught Bruce's, and her heart jumped in her chest as she could see the flecks of green in his eyes. They'd been like that since he stayed from his flight. He sent her his signature smile and Bella sighed happily. For now, everything was all right in the world.
