A/N: Hey everyone! Sorry it took longer then I anticipated to get this chapter out. I was really busy for the past week as I just finished school for the year. Also thank you for the love recently! Eren was running to the final evaluation field where he would get one more chance into the training corps. He had just gotten his ODM gear fixed as he was now more focused on not being too late.

"Eren Jaeger" A voice said in the distance as Eren realized it was the Instructor Shadis calling him for his evaluation. Eren quickened his pace as a result and made it there soon after. Eren (after doing his salute and introduction) made his way over to the hanging post where he was supposed to hang as still as possible without falling down. Looking at it made him sweat as he soon started to get nervous and anxious at the prospect of failing. He heard a few people make snide remarks but a lot less compared to the dining hall thanks to the presence of Instructor Shadis.

"Jaeger hurry it up so we can evaluate you" One of the assistants to Shadis said as Eren quickly got into gear as a result.

'I can do this' Eren thought with an awkward smile as he got lifted up courtesy of the ODM gear as his evaluation started. And just like that Eren started to hang there with no trouble at all as he smiled at the crowd with one face in particular looking for shocked that he was able to hang with no trouble. As Eren's eyes scanned the crowd he met eyes with the one who was the reason he was able to pass effortlessly now. They stared at each other for a second before both sharing a smile as Eren had now gained more respect for Luffy as he was now officially a cadet.

1 hour later,

Eren was sitting on the edge of his bed in his cabin as he was now thinking about his new life as a solider.

'I can finally start training to fight against those titans' Eren thought as his adrenaline was through the roof. As a result of that, he didn't notice the Straw Hat boy move right in front of him.

"Hey Apron!" Luffy yelled as he seemed to startle Eren out of his stupor.

"O-Oi don't scare me you asshole! And my names not Apron it's Eren!" Eren yelled.

"Sorry, sorry" Luffy said laughing all the while. Eren sighed as Luffy began to sit on the floor right in front of Eren.

"Oh thanks by the way for telling me about my broken ODM gear. I don't know if I would've passed had you not tell me that." Eren said as a smile returned to his face.

"Hm? Oh, no problem!" Luffy said as he gave Eren the same classic grin he gave everyone he became acquainted with.

"By the way, you said you lived in Shiganshina right? Well I was thinking and I don't think I remember ever seeing you there. Where did you live in Shiganshina?" Eren asked as he looked at Luffy.

Luffy picked his nose a bit before he answered, "Well, I didn't really have a home and I had to steal a lot to get a lot of food," Luffy answered as he looked up at the ceiling. This bit of information surprised Eren a bit as there weren't a ton of people living on the streets when he was a kid.

"W-Wait you said thief?! How did you get to be a solider then?" Eren said in shock as he didn't expect that revelation.

This question caused Luffy to let out a smile of admiration as he instinctively grabbed his straw hat off his head and began to look it over. "The only reason I can be a solider right now is because of my friend, Gunther" Luffy said as he put the hat back on his head. "He helped me when I was lost and also the person who gave me this straw hat," Luffy said as he began to chuckle. "I can't wait to see him again!"

Eren smiled as he looked at Luffy. 'He seems to hold a lot of admiration for this guy' Eren concluded.

"Hey Luffy during the assembly you said that you wanted to scout the world right?" Eren asked.

"Yeah what about it?" Luffy said nonchalantly as he began to lay down on his back.

"So does that mean you want to be a scout too?" Eren said as he looked at the relaxed his Luffy.

"Of course!" Luffy said as he sat back up with great enthusiasm. "I'm going to be a scout so I can see the world and be free from the walls!" Luffy exclaimed as he stared at Eren with stars for eyes.

Eren smirked at this and was excited that there were other people at there just as enthusiastic as him about being free. "I feel the same!" Eren beamed as this seemed to shock Luffy. "I want to be a scout so that I can eliminate all the titans so I can see what the world looks like!" Eren exclaimed as he let out a big smile at the thought of doing all this.

This whole revelation shocked Luffy until he let out a big laugh. "You're a funny guy you know that?" Luffy said. "But I like you! Be my friend" Luffy proclaimed.

This surprised Eren until he too let out a laugh at the forwardness of Luffy. They continued to share a laugh for a couple of minutes as a new friendship was born on that day.

The next day in the cafeteria,

Mikasa let out a sigh as she and Armin were waiting for Eren. "Armin didn't you see Eren in the boy's cabin?" Mikasa said as Armin shook his head.

"No, I didn't see him this morning but I've seen him talking with the guy who was good with the ODM gear a few times, I think his name is Luffy." Armin said.

"Really? I wonder why he's started to talk to him." Mikasa questioned aloud. Before Mikasa could think on it any further Mikasa and Armin both spotted Eren walking to towards them with Luffy in tow.

"Hey Mikasa, Armin, I wanted to introduce you to someone" Eren said as he looked at Luffy as Luffy was looking at Mikasa and Armin. "This is Luffy. He was the guy who did really well on the ODM gear evaluation." Eren said as Luffy smiled and waved. "Luffy, these guys are Mikasa and Armin. They've been with been with me for a long time" Eren said as a small smile appeared on his face.

"So your names are Mi Casa and Darmon? That's kind of weird!" Luffy exclaimed all the while laughing.

'That's not our name' Mikasa and Armin thought while sweat dropping. Eren rolled his eyes before sighing.

"Sorry about that, he's kind of an idiot most of the time" Eren said. "The main reason I brought him over here is because apparently he also lived in Shiganshina." Eren said. This bit of information shocked Mikasa and Armin as they stared wide eyed at the still laughing Luffy. People who saw the titans and what they did were typically quiet and reserved or angry. So it was a shock to them that someone so happy could possibly be from Shiganshina.

"How do you know for sure?" Mikasa asked, narrowing her eyes as she was still skeptical. She doesn't remember seeing him before.

"I don't really know for sure, but I can just tell from talking with him" Eren said in a calm manner. "He's seen what we've seen before. Trust me on this." Eren said as he looks at Mikasa.

"Well if you say he is telling the truth I'll take your word for it Eren." Armin says as he looks at the still laughing image of Luffy.

"Thanks-" Eren was cut off buy a smack on the table they were all near. Eren turns his head to look at what caused the sound as he immediately recognizes who it is thanks to the white hair and blue eyes. The cafeteria quiets down as murmurs about the girl start to appear.

"Hey, isn't that Kiera Shultheiss? She's a royal from Wall Sina! What's she doing here?" One of the cadets whispered as the attention was brought to the girl who was giving a fierce glare to a certain Straw Hat boy.

"You! Why are you still here?" The girl who was now known as Kiera stated. This however caused Luffy to raise an eyebrow at the question.

"Why am I still here? Why wouldn't I be?" Luffy said nonchalantly.

"I mean how did you pass! There's no way someone like you who doesn't have any dignity whatsoever could have passed the evaluation!" Kiera yelled as she glared harder at the confused Luffy.

"Evaluation? You mean the thing where we just had to hang? That was super easy." Luffy said as he once again raised an eyebrow at the girl who just continued to get angered at Luffy.

"Hmph, I doubt someone as simple minded as you did the evaluation with such ease" Kiera stated. "Oh well, it doesn't matter anyway. I doubt someone as foolish as you could stay here for too long." She concludes with closed eyes. Eren narrows his eyes as he's about to defend his new friend but before he could he heard a laugh belonging to the Straw Hat boy.

"Shishshi, I'll be here until the day I can become a scout, so you can say whatever you want to say about me." Luffy says with a determined smile. "Also, who are you?" Luffy asks which causes all the previous tension to collapse at the dumb question.

"DO YOU SERIOUSLY NOT REMEMBER ME?!" Kiera shouts with shark teeth before returning to a calm demeanor. "Well I suppose it won't hurt to tell you my name. I am Kiera Shultheiss." Keira says as she flips her hair back. Luffy gives her a funny look before it turns into a big grin.

"Shishishi, okay Icey-Hair!" Luffy says with the utmost confidence as he doesn't even try to pronounce her name correctly.

And this was the start of a 'unique' relationship between Luffy and Kiera.

A/N: So how did you like this chapter? Ngl, I'm not super proud of this chapter and I think I could've definitely done better but it's been a slight challenge getting back into writing after being busy for a week and a half.
