A/N: I AM ALIVE! IMMORTALIZED! and I got a new chapter, for you-u! seriously, I'm so grateful for S2. I'll admit I kinda lost ideas for this... I mean... idk what happened for sure. But I had at first intended to finish this story BEFORE S2 came out. But, well, that's not going to happen now lol
And instead of refusing to watch until I finished, since that wasn't getting me anywhere, I decided to watch these four episodes that came out and WOWZA. It was AMAZING. God Tier Stuff, man. I'm really glad there's, like, a canon reason for this story to exist too. Like.. yeah, I'm not gonna get into it just in case y'all hadn't seen it but MAN. IT'S GOOD. Okay, okay enough gushing, time to reply to some reviews lol

Milkshake and Cookies: You. I've been wanting to reply to you this whole time. I just... a- let it all out lol
Yeah, Mabel just wanted to make sure everyone liked her breakfast making, even if it is a TAD too sugary for (most) of their liking xD
Oooooo, yeah, I'm glad you cleared that up too cuz I was all like "wait no you WANT the actual evil triangle to haunt him? OOF" and yeah, lol just the imprint and memories causing the mess up. Should all be fixed soon... right? and yes, you go ahead with referring to it as Bill cuz everyone in this story is doing it anyway lol it's indeed a loot easier-
Yeah, Ford really just wanted to think King was a coincidence but now he's really facing his fears. And.. he literally punched King in the snout how's that for restraint? xD I shouldn't be putting that emoticon but... yeah. You probably mean taking him down to the lab to.. torture him? or.. something?
AAAAAAAA SORRY- aaaaaaaaa, maybe in some alternate reality there's a happier version of this story but as of now? nope. Maybe I'll write a sequel, but it depends on everything. And awww, okay. Thanks for your review though! that's my cookie anyway lol

Another Form, Another Time
Chapter Thirteen: Recreation

"I messed up…"

Luz had taken King back upstairs, where thankfully the twins weren't, and bundled him in blankets on their shared bed. She wasn't quite that keen on making more hot chocolate after such a sugary breakfast - she was pretty sure what she ate was pure sugar - but if King needed it…

"I really messed up.."

The girl just listened to him sadly, kneeling on the floor and leaning on the bed, staring at him.

He sighed, gently grasping his bandaged snout. "I blew it.."

"King, it wasn't you," Luz tried, but the little demon shook his head, still downcast.

"I'm not sure if it isn't me at this point.." he moved a claw down to his chest. "I feel.. wrong.."

It was as if he barely felt the blankets. Couldn't feel much, except endless remorse. "All twisted up inside.."

Luz couldn't handle it anymore. She reached over and pulled him into a tight hug, bringing the blankets with. King didn't fight it, but he could barely feel this too.

"Why aren't I strong enough..?" he frowned, lowering his head into Luz's arms. "I'm the king of demons.. I have to be strong enough.."

"King," the tall girl continued to hug him, "you are already. You command with great ferocity and I've never seen you bow to anyone."

The little demon took in these words, only to shudder when one of those memories popped in. "But that's what Bill did too.. and I'm not him.. am I?"

He groaned eventually, squirming out of the hug, and Luz just watched, heartbroken. "Wow. Here I am asking something I should already know. I mean, how pathetic is that?" he had this odd tone, like a sudden warning smile. And he even snickered, lying back briefly and kicking at the bed.

Luz grew even sadder and more worried, but reached out. King raised a claw, ready to smack her hand away, but stopped at the last minute. His expression was full of horror, and he then proceeded to scream into his claws, flailing his legs around. "WHY AM I LIKE THIS?!"

The human took a breath, and tried reaching her hand out again. "It's okay, King.." she touched his cheek, stopping the demon in his tracks. He stared at her like she was his lifeline, and she very well might be. "You know what I'm thinking?"

King merely blinked, tilting his head.

"You might be neither.. since Bill probably influenced your earlier actions, when we met," Luz hoped this made sense. King wasn't Bill. But he wasn't King right now either.

He raised an eyeridge, confused. "I don't think I follow…"

"You're not Bill," she began, bringing up one hand. "But you're not King either at this point." And the other hand went up. "You're.. something else entirely, I think.." she glanced at both hands before she lifted her hazel gaze to King.

"But then who am I?" the demon frowned. "If I'm not Bill and I'm not King..?" he stared at his own claws, bringing them up like Luz did.

And soon his hot pink eyes slid back up to her, and there was that odd smile again. "That's complete nonsense, Luz, and you know it."

It was entirely unapologetic. To anyone who knew King before but didn't go through what Luz went through here in Gravity Falls, they would think he was sliding backwards to his old behavior.

But Luz knew better.

"Well, maybe it is," she handled it calmly, her soft smile returning. "Maybe it isn't. But you don't wanna be Bill. And you also don't seem to wanna be King either.." her smile faded slightly.

The demon realized, eyes widening. He reached out this time, concern in his face, and Luz grabbed his claw with both hands. "No, I wanna be King. King is.. he's who I am.. and I refuse to bow down."

With that, there reflected a clear resolve in his eyes. He'd spent this whole time cowering before his old memories. It was time he confronted them and showed them who the real boss was.

Luz saw this, and smiled even wider. And she tried her best to hide her worries that he might not succeed. They'd get through this. Bill wasn't going to take her friend. She just had to believe.

A/N: We are still on the home stretch, ig? those new episodes filled me with DETERMINATION and MOTIVATION. So hopefully you won't be waiting another month for a new chapter. Or.. two months in this case. Hell, hopefully I won't be waiting another month haha. Anyway, thanks, y'all! you're the best and I hope to see you in my emails and reviews!
