![]() Author has written 10 stories for Static Shock, Kung Fu Panda, and Zootopia. About me: I've been writing fanfiction across various fandoms for about 15 years (yes, I'm old!), but most of those stories have never been posted here. I write for the fun of it. Oh, and also it's my job. Girl's gotta pay bills. Fanfiction and writing in general has always been an escape for me, a way to let my imagination and creative juices run wild. Without waxing too poetic, it's something that brings me joy even when I'm in a slump, an outlet when I need it, and it's like an old friend you've known for so long that you can just sit down and talk with them like you were never away at all. I swore off fanfic writing in 2014 because I had contributed so to the Kung Fu Panda fandom for so long that the inspiration for more stories were just not forthcoming. That, and I felt that I was "getting too old" to write fanfic for a kid's movie. Well, there have been other movies and shows that I've been introduced to recently, and I've been writing off and on, when I'm not busy with work or other responsibilities. It's safe to say though (sorry, guys!) that I won't be contributing to the KFP fandom anymore. But, like I said, I'm still writing. Every November I take the NaNaWriMo challenge: I try to write a novel in a month. 50,000 words in 30 days, averaging 1,667 words a day. You win nothing but the satisfaction of knowing you created and more importantly completed something...which is pretty awesome. Maybe you guys will join me this November? :) Other interests: I'm a voracious reader, most notably the classics by Jane Austen, Charlotte Bronte, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Oscar Wilde, but I'll read just about anything that passes my fancy. My more contemporary favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Christopher Moore, Jennifer McMahon, Michelle Moran, J.K. Rowling, and Lisa See. Lately, though, I've been reading as many banned books as I can get my hands on! I knit, like, a lot, so you'll see knitting show up in a few (okay, fine, ALL) of my stories. I've also gotten into other needle crafts. Most importantly of all, I love my husband, our two cats, and our home. SPECIAL NOTICE, PLEASE READ: Thanks for reading! |
