81. Entry 82: The Ball

Well... That could have gone better. It turns out that White Diamond is a hard nut to crack. The Diamonds are always so super busy and White Diamond practically never leaves her ship which looked like a torso-and-head combo. Thankfully, Steven found a way to meet with everyone. He hosted a ball like Pink Diamond used to do before she was assigned a colony. Blue and Yellow took it as the beginning of Era 3, but Steven just wanted to talk to White Diamond about the Corrupted Gems on Earth. The ball was orderly and strictly planned, but even with every Gem there, White Diamond still wouldn't come. Instead, she sent her creepy, cracked Pearl in her stead. Steven had disappointment, but he danced it away with Connie up to the point where they both fused to become Stevonnie. That turned out to be a mistake and caused quite an uproar. their fusion inspired some other Gems to use which infuriated the other Diamonds. Yellow and Blue poofed the Crystal Gems and locked Steven and Connie away in a tower. It doesn't really look good. If things get any worse, I may have to end up getting involved. Not exactly my first choice of a first encounter.
