Clover Kingdom's Champion
"What do you mean the Royal Capital is under attack?" Fuegoleon questioned the Mage Servant.
"I'll use my stone creation Magic. Stone model of the world, will show us." Shiren said, using his magic to make a model of the Noble Realm of the Clover Kingdom.
"Oh wow, there's so much detail in this. If he weren't a Magic Knight, he'd make a killing as a sculptor." Kali said, looking over the model of the Noble Realm.
"It looks as though five places in the Noble Realm have been hit simultaneously." Fuegoleon said. "Whoever planned this, is a very skilled, and precise Spacial Magic user."
"But to bring in this many soldiers at once. I don't know it just doesn't seem right. Isn't the Capital monitored by Royal Mages who are in charge of preventing this sort of thing?" Kali questioned.
"Yes, so either the enemy managed to work their way through it, or one of the mages has turned traitor." Fuegoleon said.
"Well, I know nothing good is gonna happen just by standing around waiting here for more reports. I'm going out there." Asta said.
"Hold up Asta." Kali said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You can't sense Magical Energy, but I can, even better than the Captain, so I'll head to the Northern District, and see what I can do there. You go with Yuno and Mimosa to the Northwest District."
"What exactly are you planning Kali?" Klaus questioned.
"I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think I know the mage responsible for all the chaos." Kali said. "The movement of the figures attacking the civilians in the model is vaguely familiar."
"A friend of yours?" Nozel questioned with a glare.
"Can the threatening glare bird brain. This guy ain't a friend of mine. In fact he's the farthest thing from it." Kali said. "He desecrates the memories of those who've passed on with his magic, and he caused me a lot of pain when I was still living in the wild."
"So you're saying this type of magic is familiar to you." Fuegoleon said.
"I'm not completely sold on it, but this guy has some major beef with the Clover Capital after he was kicked out of the Purple Orcas a few years back." Kali said. "What am I doing still standing around talking? I have to get going and protect the people."
With her peace said, Kali took off running and jumped out the window she shattered when she kicked Alecdora through it, and took to the skies, flying through the air and heading to the north.
"Hahaha. That's the spirit. As I'd expect from a rival of mine." Leopold cheered, as he went running through the halls. "Lead the way Kali. I'm not gonna miss seeing my rival in action again."
"How is it he's older than me?" Asura questioned.
"Really Leo? Must you be such a child?" Fuegoleon questioned. "I can see I'm going to have to take you in hand."
"What are your orders Captain?" Asura asked, getting just as serious as Fuegoleon.
"It may chafe taking orders from me for some of you. Still, we must act now." Fuegoleon said, to which everyone agreed. "I'll go after Leo and the Black Bull girl. Then once I've secured them, we'll head to the North." He stated before creating a lion out of flames. "Noelle, you're with me. Asura you're with the Black Bull boy."
"Right." Asura said, coming to Asta's side.
"Silver Eagles, you take the Central District where the enemy is strongest." Fuegoleon directed.
"Very well." Nozel said.
"Blue Rose Knights, you head East."
"As loathe as I am to take a mans orders, we must." Charlotte said as Sol produced a stone golem.
"I'm ready whenever you are Char." Sol said.
"Call me, Captain, Sol."
"Golden Dawn, split into two teams. One of the teams will take the Black Bull boy and Asura." Fuegoleon said. "One heads Northwest, the other West."
"We will be sure to safe guard the people of the Clover Kingdom." Asura stated as he and Asta joined Yuno and Mimosa's team.
"Let's hurry." Klaus said, creating a chariot of magic metal.
"I hate to leave before dessert, but I suppose we can come back for it later." Hamon said.
"Failure today, will bring shame to the Magic Knights." Fuegoleon stated. "Do not let the enemy get away."
"Right." Everyone said, before they all burst out the windows, going off in their assigned directions and districts.
~Central District~
"You! You won't get away with this." One of the citizens cried out as the people were being swarmed by legions of the undead.
"What do you want? Whatever it is, you can have it." Another cried as an undead came at him, but burst as something pierced its torso.
Looking up, the citizens found joy in their hearts as the Silver Eagles Siblings came down from the silver bird, Nozel had made with his magic.
~Eastern District~
The people were running and screaming for their lives as they were attacked by legions of the undead. None of them knew why this was happening, but they knew it wasn't safe for them to be there anymore. As the undead were chasing them, their views suddenly twisted.
The cause of this was Sol, as she came in and slammed her golem's fist into the undead, knocking them all away as they were sent flying.
"There are civilians. Careful." Charlotte said.
"Oh yeah, sorry about that Char." Sol said casually.
"Call me Captain, Sol." Charlotte stated.
~Northwest District~
Terrified screams filled the air, as Yuno and Asura's group all came to the scene. Asta and Asura jumped from the wind chariot Yuno made, and hit each of the undead with their own attacks that either destroyed them, or erased the magic controlling the bodies.
"We will make sure the people of this realm are safe." Asura said.
"Because that's what it means…" Asta added.
"To be a Magic Knight." They said in unison.
~Western District~
"Dessert's waiting." Hamon said with a laugh, as he and Shiren jumped down from Klaus's chariot to help the people bellow. "Let's work up an appetite shall we?"
'Don't think you'll get away with this.' Klaus thought. 'We will annihilate you.'
~Northern District~
As the people below were panicking, Fuegoleon and Noelle were looking everywhere they could for Kali and Leopold, but all they were finding were the soldiers of the undead, charging at the people, with the intent to harm them.
"What… are they?" Noelle questioned.
"Some strange army?" Fuegoleon guessed. "I've never seen anything like them."
"Where's Kali?" Noelle asked in concern.
~Nearby~
Over in an alley a couple clicks further into the Northern District, there were several undead soldiers, cornering a helpless child. They managed to push her back against the wall, crying as she held her stuffed animal tightly for dear life, as the undead stalked closer, intending on killing their prey. Between them, was a man wearing purple bandages, with a weird eye shaped eye patch, over his left eye, with wild grey hair, wearing rags, and more bandages over his left arm.
"Tell me, little girl. Do you like it here in the Clover Kingdom?" The man questioned.
"Yes I do." The girl said. "I love it. So please, sir. Please! You need to stop!"
"I can't, I hate the Clover Kingdom." Rades said. "So I'm going to take this town, its people… and you little girl, and destroy you all."
"Hands off the little girl Rades."
Rades turned to the side, only to bend over sideways as a pair of steel toed boots kicked him in the ribs, before he went flying into a few of his zombies and into a building.
In the flames of the firelight, the little girl looked up, eyes widening as she spotted her savior. With the wind blowing, Kali's hair was swept away to the side, revealing the Black Bulls emblem on the fabric right between her shoulder blades.
"Sorry I'm late to the party Rades." Kali said, cracking her knuckles. "One of your fire mage zombies burnt away my clothes on the way here, so I had to stop and change into my spares."
Kali wasn't exaggerating as instead of the normal clothes she wore to the Magic Knights HQ, she now wore an electric violet, tight-fitting tube top that covered some of her chest. The tube top is open in the middle and has a gold clover on the right side, with a diamond shaped ruby in each leaf, and the stem. She wore a pair of black and purple mini-shorts, with a gold colored belt, connected at the front with a belt buckle engraved with the Black Bulls Emblem, with part of her scar visible over the top of the belt. Around her neck was her choker, one of the few things that had survived the fire she'd been hit with. For footwear she wore sky high boots that had electric violet stripes stripes at the top edges and around the ankles, with the foot and heel parts white with spring loaded souls to empower her kicks, with black and violet trimmed stockings on her legs. On her arms she sported a pair of red and violet trimmed vambraces. Tapping the charm on her choker, the leather grew into a black balaclava mask, covering only the lower half of her face.
'Thank you Vanessa for this outfit, and charging the charm on my choker.' Kali thought as her Grimoire floated up in front of her.
"Do I know you?" Rades questioned.
"Really? I know I look different, especially without my tail, but you should recognize the girl you tried, and failed to capture on multiple occasions, as a member of the Purple Orcas." Kali said.
"You're that freak who can naturally use multiple elemental attributes." Rades said.
"Ding-ding-ding, you guessed it, now here's your prize." Kali said, before raising her arm with her finger out, and shot a fireball attack like a bullet from her finger. "Flame Attack Magic: Flaming Demon Bullet."
Rades jumped to the side, and evaded the strike as he wasn't looking to get skewered or killed and become a corpse, like his puppets.
"You've gotten faster." Kali said, running for him. "But you won't be able to dodge this." She declared, pulling Sword of the Gods from her Grimoire and bringing it down on Rades, only for it to be blocked, by a sword of equal structure, but bigger in size, and of opposite colors. Kali's eyes widened when she saw the hand holding the sword coming out of a black portal in front of Rades. She felt a familiar energy coming from that portal, but it was corrupted, and dark.
As Kali jumped back, the portal in which Rades summoned his puppets through, grew bigger, as out came a zombie, with the body of a skilled swordsman, stitched together from different body parts, but she recognized the head of the man Rades had sewn onto the body, instantly.
"Seihi?" Kali questioned, her balaclava mask retracting back into the choker.
"Oh, so you know the man who I used the head, and heart of, for this puppet. I designed him just for you. Each part of him, is stitched from a former dead Magic Knights Captain, with an attribute linked directly to the four major elements." Rades laughed. "An' to make it a little more fun, I used the head and heart of a mage who had powerful sword creation magic attributes, who died rather recently. Who'd have thought he was an old friend of yours? Oh the sweet irony, now you're gonna die by the hands of someone you cared for."
"Seihi…" Kali said, her sword dropping to the ground. "I'm sorry, I couldn't save you from Heath. I tried but I wasn't strong enough I… I let you die, and your grandchildren were orphaned because of my lack of experience. I'm sorry." She cried as tears began falling down her cheeks, with the reincarnated corpse raised its arms, both hands on the hilt, preparing to strike her down. "I'm sorry Seihi, please forgive me…"
"SNAP OUT OF IT YOU PATHETIC WEAKLING, AND MOVE." A voice echoed in her head.
Kali's head shot up, and she rolled out of the way, grabbing her dropped weapon at the same time, avoiding the swung blade from Seihi's reanimated corpse, before getting back to her feet.
"What the… who…?"
"It's about damned time you heard me you stupid brat." The voice said again, but this time it was beside her. Kali looked to her shoulder, and saw a little person, a smaller version of her, just as robust and curvy, floating in the air, and wearing a tight top, and a pair of shorts, that hugged her curves. Thing was though, she was the size of a six month old kitten, and had a pair of fairy wings with rainbow colored hair. "An' it appears you can see me to. About damned time we met face to face."
"Who are…?"
"I'll explain everything later, but for right now, DUCK."
Kali's senses seemed to kick in at that, and she went low to the ground, avoiding another swing from Seihi's sword, before jumping back, and then off to the side, before she rushed back to the child she saved, knocking Rades away from her again.
"Listen, I know you're feeling guilty for not being able to save old man Seihi, but that can't stop you from protecting the innocent, like this little girl." The little Kali said, sitting on the child's head to keep her calm. "If you can't succeed at this simple task, then how can you expect to fulfill your dream of fighting God?"
"A fairy?" The girl questioned, putting her hands on her head on either side of the fairy.
"Seems I'm visible to everyone now." The Fairy smiled. "But like I was saying, you can't let one bad experience stop you from chasing your dreams."
"What am I supposed to do then?" Kali asked.
"First off, change your blade to something lighter and less wind resistant. It's your weapon, and though it came from Seihi, you have control over its form." The Fairy said. "Choose a weapon, that would be more suited for fast and efficient attacks."
"Like what?" Kali questioned.
"Anything! It doesn't even have to be a sword. So long as it has a blade, then it will work!" The Fairy said as she formed a protective barrier around the girl. "Focus. Don't worry about the child, I'll keep her safe."
Kali let out a deep breath, and closed her eyes, her grip tightening on the hilt of her blade, as the tip was pointed downward to the ground.
"Letting your guard down? The Magic Knights really have scraped the bottom of the barrel with enlisting you." Rades declared joyfully using Seihi to swing at Kali with his blade.
As the blade approached, time seemed slow to a crawl, before Kali's eyes shot open, her Grimoire glowing brightly, and she deflected the oncoming sword, with a strike from her own weapon. Spinning the weapon in her hands, Kali used it to knock Seihi's reanimated corpse back, before twisting it around, and severing the hand holding the sword, and putting the newly formed scythe, over her right shoulder, and steadying it at her left hip.
"How dare you… I thought you considered this man your friend? So why would you attack him like this?" Rades questioned.
"Old Man Seihi died in Saussy Village. You've desecrated his memory, with your vile magic. It would be nothing short of a mercy, to destroy this abomination, to let him rest in peace." Kali stated as her Nemean Armor formed around her.
Rushing at the reanimated abomination, Kali swung the scythe forward, twirling it around her body, before she began to spin, and sliced through the abomination, stopping right behind it, before it fell to the ground, sliced into pieces as the magic dispersed, and the flesh was unmoving once more.
"Rest in Peace, Seihi." Kali said, her scythe returning to the pages of her Grimoire.
"You brat, you sliced up my precious puppet like he was a slab of meat." Rades growled.
"I put him, and the souls of the other Magic Knights who's body parts you used, to rest." Kali stated. "Now you're gonna tell me who you're working with, or else I'm gonna have to receive a pay cut for not bringing you in alive."
"Ha, I'd like to see you try little girl. There's no bounty on my head." Rades smirked. "Just who do you think you are making threats at me like that?"
"I'm Kali Sukehiro, a member of the Magic Knights, from the Black Bulls Squad." Kali said, as the silhouette of a great ape formed from her magic behind her, as she marched towards Rades, crescent blades of diamond forming on the outsides of her forearms. "An' I'm about to send you on a one way trip, to the underworld."
~Leopold, Fuegoleon, Noelle~
"They're really creepy." Noelle said.
"I hope my rival's alright." Leopold sighed.
"You can worry about finding the Black Bull Girl later, Leo." Fuegoleon stated. "These fiends. There's magic power inside them, but while they can move, they aren't living beings. Which means, to make sure they stay down, we must destroy them."
"Let's see how you like this spell. My Flame Magic: Spiral Flame!" Leopold called out, sending the attack magic at the lifeless zombies.
"Go, Flame Magic: Sol Linea!" Fuegoleon called out as a blue beam of flames went and ignited everything it touched, into bonfires.
"That's incredible." Noelle said, seeing how effective their magics were.
"Flame Creation Magic: Leo Rugiens!" Fuegoleon called out. "Burn to ash!"
"That was amazing!"
"They're so powerful."
"Is there anything they can't do?"
"Wow, they're incredible."
As the fight continued on, Noelle was started to become short of breath, and Fuegoleon was getting annoyed with the numbers of the enemy that kept coming. All the while, Leopold was having the time of his life.
"Yeah, we've got you now." Leopold smirked, before a cry of rage, echoed through the air. "Hey I know that yell." He said before running in the direction the cry came from.
Racing through the allies, Leopold found Kali as she was cutting down the enemies forces, with the blades that grew from her Nemean armor.
'What is she doing? Mowing down hordes of those things with only those blades on her arms? So much raw physical power, and what a straightforward way to fight. She's not even using more than the magical energy needed to sustain her armor.' Leopold thought with amusement as he laughed. "You're almost too entertaining. An' that's exactly what I'm looking for in a rival." He stated, before he used his magic to destroy another of the undead.
"RRRAAAAGH." Kali shouted sending two more zombies flying into the pile she'd built up of Rades undead puppets. "That's the last of them. I've just about had it, up to here, with your stupid Wraith Magic, Rades." She growled, holding the blade of her left arm, up to her chin. "I'm putting an end to this, here and now."
"Yo-You saved me. Thank you." The little girl said.
"I wouldn't thank me just yet little girl." Kali said, her armor disappearing. "This battle's not over with."
"Heh!" Rades smirked.
"You gotta be a real monster, to attack innocent people like that Rades." Kali said.
"Huh?"
"I'm gonna make sure, you don't do it again." She growled, her fists covered in flames, as the fires surrounding them were drawn towards her, before she charged at him with a battle cry.
As she ran to Rades, a wave of dark liquid came out of the ground in front of him, and Kali skid to a halt, when some of it brushed past her cheek, and she instantly felt her skin and flesh decay.
"I'm sure you remember this one, little girl." Rades smirked as a being wrapped in leather bandages pulled itself out of the ground. "Number 4, Jimmy."
"Oh I remember him. One of the ways I lost my tail, before it grew back." Kali glared.
"You say, these people are innocent?" Rades questioned. "These people failed to see how powerful I am. So, they're guilty to me."
"Guilty?" Kali questioned, her body trembling in anger. "You're attacking these innocent people, just because you didn't get the attention you wanted?"
The flames around Kali's fists died down, before her Grimoire came floating in front of her. Flipping through it, Kali stopped at a page that had what looked like a padded lock and chains on four of the corners.
"This is a spell, I didn't even know was in my arsenal, until a few months ago when I copied, what I assume, was my first magical attribute from some brute named Vetto, who thought he could rough me up, and have his way with me. I copied the most primal part of his attribute."
Drawing a circle over the padlock on the page of her Grimoire, Kali prepared herself, for what was to come.
"Hold on…" The Fairy said, standing on the girl's head. "She's not gonna…"
"Prepare yourself Rades…" Kali growled, as the lock and chains on the page, came undone, and she felt a primal urge rush through her. "For you're about to face off, against a real beast." She said as her voice got deeper, her body growing a couple feet, and becoming covered in fur.
"C'mon kid, we gotta move." The Fairy said, pushing the young girl from behind. "We don't wanna be around when she goes ape." She said, before Kali let out a primal roar, sounding like a monster.
~Asta~
"That sounded like…" Asta began. "Asura, I have to get to Kali's location."
"I'll take you there myself." Asura said.
"But, Yuno and Mimosa…"
"Go Asta, we'll be fine with just the two of us." Yuno said. "Kali's our sister. So go, Asura can help you if it's too much for you to handle. I can handle the fighting and Mimosa can handle healing the injured. Just go."
"Right." Asta stated, before Asura grabbed him, and they began to fly to the northern district.
"I thought her tail was removed?"
"It was, so this shouldn't be happening. Not to mention it's the middle of the day." Asta said.
"So you recognized that roar too?"
"I did. Kali turned into a giant ape a couple times back in Hage. So the roar we heard was all too familiar to me."
"If she has transformed, it shouldn't be too hard to miss a 50foot ape running around causing havoc." Asura said.
With Asura's flight capabilities, it didn't take them long to reach the Northern District. Once there they found Noelle with Leopold, standing in front of a little girl, looking on in shock.
"Noelle." Asta called out.
"Leo." Asura called.
"Asta, Asura." Noelle said.
"What are you two doing here?" Leopold questioned.
"We heard the roar." Asta said dropping to the ground as Asura landed.
"Is everything already taken care of?" Asura asked.
"Not exactly. Unlike you during the full moon, Kali's transformation hasn't been completed." Leopold said.
"Take a look."
Noelle and Leopold stepped aside, to let Asura and Asta through. Catching the events going on, both of them were stunned into silence. There, in the open street, was a 7', almost 8' anthromorphic ape with brown fur, turning the charging forces of the undead into mincemeat, while Fuegoleon was fighting alongside it, turning the fallen zombies to ash.
"Kali's somehow in control. But she's barely hanging on. It's taking all her will power to maintain her sanity, and stay conscious of who she is." Noelle said. "An' Fuegoleon's fighting side by side with her."
"An' get this…" Leopold added. "Fuegoleon has also declared himself a rival of Kali's."
"Say what?" Asura questioned. "That's insane. Captain of the Crimson Lion Kings, and a member of the Royal House Vermilion, declared Kali, his rival?"
"As awesome as it is to hear this, how could Kali have done this transformation in the first place? It's the middle of the day, and her tail was sliced off." Asta said.
"She used the first magic she copied with the power of her Grimoire."
Asta and Ashura turned to look at who spoke, and spotted the fairy who was now sitting on Noelle's shoulder.
'How had we missed that before?' They questioned in unison.
"What do you mean, the first magic she copied? I thought that was Seihi's magic?" Asta asked.
"Hold on, she's able to copy magical attributes?" Leopold questioned.
"Not quite." The Fairy said, ignoring Asta and Asura as they began poking her head, with a tic mark forming. "When Seihi died, she didn't copy his attribute, she subconsciously absorbed the entire thing, and it evolved into a Weapons Creation Magic attribute, instead of a Sword Creation Magic attribute. It's only when someone is still alive that she copies the attributes or spells. AN' STOP POKING MY HEAD!"
"It doesn't really matter at the moment on how she got this skill. What's important is she's winning." Asura said.
Out in the battle, the Ape Kali slammed her fist into the ground, causing the earth to quake, before she charged at Rades.
"This ends now." Kali declared, grabbing Rades by his face and slamming him into the ground, one of her sharpened nails cutting his cheek.
"Flame Creation Magic: Leo Palma." Fuegoleon said. In that moment, as Kali let go, several lion paws made of fire, grabbed Rades, and held him in place, his Grimoire falling to the ground.
"His Grimoire is so thin." Kali said, picking up said book.
As Asta was watching the fight die down between the trio of mages, he noticed something. He couldn't quite make out what it was, but he sensed it was coming from the pile of puppets, he assumed, Kali had built in fighting them off. He thought he heard a voice.
"Asta are you seeing this?" Asura questioned.
Asta looked closely at the fight going on, and he was shocked to see Kali's body was shaking, not from fear, but from exhaustion.
"Fighting in that form is taking too much of her magic power. She can't keep going like this." Asura said. "A warrior must always be aware of their bodies condition. They must assess whether or not they're truly able to fight. Right now, I hate to admit it, she's not in any condition to fight."
"Fuegoleon said the same thing." Leopold said. "But Kali pushed through, and kept on fighting. At this rate, she's gonna burn herself out. We should be grateful then that the battle is actually over. So she doesn't have to stay in that form anymore. What's keeping her from undoing the spell, nerves?"
"That's not how Kali does things. She's like me, but also not like me. Her brash fearlessness is only a facade, but it's the greatest weapon she has, but it's all a facade." Asta said. "Noelle, have you noticed how Kali usually starts out a battle with a smile on her face?"
"Come to think of it, I have noticed that actually." Noelle said. "An' she usually holds it through the battle, even when she's pissed off. The only times she doesn't smile in battle, is when she's reached her limits."
"Behind that smile, is a mountain of fear." Asta said. "She hides it, because she believes as the oldest of us at the church, she has to set the example. An' she sets it, by showing a fearless smile whenever she's in trouble."
"Get these flames off of me damn you. This isn't fair! It's not over, I'll show you!" Rades cried out, struggling against Fuegoleon's restraint spell. "Free me and I'll prove how powerful I am!"
"There are a great many questions I'd like to ask." Fuegoleon said, as Kali came to stand beside him.
"An' you will answer those questions Rades." Kali said handing Fuegoleon the Grimoire. "Here, there's only one page in his Grimoire. Not a lot of potential for Wraith Magic."
"Why are you still in that form? Isn't it eating away at your magic?" Fuegoleon asked.
"I've faced off against Rades quite a few times. An' I know he's got something else in the works. So I'm just keeping my guard up." Kali said, trying her hardest to keep her fatigue from showing, as Fuegoleon turned back to Rades, after he'd quit babbling to himself.
"I want to know how you carried out this attack." Fuegoleon said. "Where are the others you're working with? There's at least one other involved in this plot, besides you. This invasion required the use of Spacial Magic, on an immense scale. So tell me, where is your partner?"
"It's doubtful they've escaped already, I can feel a faint trace of a spacial magic users mana, but I can't pinpoint its location. I know it's not Finral because he's at a tavern on the other side of the Capital. This form is preventing me from pinpointing the location. But I know for a fact, the other Magic Knights at the other locations are gone."
"They may have managed to send the Magic Knights away from the Capital, but that doesn't mean, they have the power necessary to capture it." Fuegoleon stated.
"An' this isn't something so simple as a faint, to reach the King. He's well guarded by his top Knights." Kali stated.
"You've made it clear, your personal motive is revenge. But I sense there was a larger purpose behind the attack." Fuegoleon said.
Rades only response to their questioning, was laughter. He began to laugh before he looked directly at them.
"You want to know what we're after?" Rades questioned. "You, Fuegoleon Vermilion. We came for you."
"For me?"
"But why him?" Leopold asked.
"Yes why?" Fuegoleon inquired, before a dark starry void spread all over the ground, and sprouted up all around him. "Spacial Magic again eh? Very well."
"Captain Fuegoleon." Kali said.
"Don't. I'll allow for them to take me, so I may know, who our enemy truly is." Fuegoleon said as he began to sink into the starry void. "Maybe now, we'll get to the bottom of this." He stated, before he vanished.
"FUEGOLEON!" Leopold shouted.
'Please come back safe, Captain Fuegoleon.' Kali thought as the Fairy Kali came and sat on her shoulder.
"You evil bastard." Leopold growled, marching up to Rades, and grabbing him by his shirt. "Tell me where you sent my brother."
"Let him go Leopold." Kali said, pulling the Lion Cub back as Rades began to laugh insanely.
"He's just toying with you. He only has one page in his Grimoire, and he's only able to use Wraith Magic. So he wasn't the one who cast the Spacial Magic Spell." The Fairy said, flying in front of Leopold's face.
"But the pinpoint accuracy of it. No one could pull that off unless they were close to their target." Noelle said. "They're hiding nearby."
"An' I think I know where." Asura said, as he and Asta looked to the pile of corpses.
Grabbing his sword from his Grimoire, Asta rushed to the pile and swung at it, resulting in someone jumping out of it, and to the rooftop of one of the buildings through one of his spacial magic portals, before he had to move again, as Asura came out of nowhere and swung at him with flame covered fists.
"He was hiding beneath the pile of corpses?" Noelle questioned.
"He must have moved himself there after enough of them had built up." Kali said. "Damn it. I built him the perfect hiding spot."
"It's not your fault Kali." Asura said.
"Nice observation skills." The Spacial Magic user said, alerting them to his current location. "I had a feeling you'd suss out my magical transformations, but I couldn't even get past either of you with a shabby, putrescent disguise." He said, pulling off his mask. "You really are quite a couple of animals."
"Something tells me, you're here to do more than flatter or insult us." Asura said.
"Regardless of what you think, it's already over now."
"Over?" Asta questioned.
"What is?" Leopold asked, only for a portal to open up above them, and for Fuegoleon to fall out of it, and landed on the ground, missing a limb.
As they stared in horror of what they were seeing, only Kali could tell Fuegoleon's restraint spell was fading.
"Guys, get back from Rades now." Kali shouted, noticing when he stood up.
"I can take care of Fuegoleons injuries, everyone else get behind me as I put up a barrier." Fairy Kali said.
"Rades. You've fulfilled your purpose here." The Spacial Magic user said as he opened a gateway under Rades feet. "Take your leave, you're done here."
"No way. Not yet."
Rades turned to see Asura marching towards him, before he began coming at Rades in a full on stampeding charge.
"NOT UNTIL I MAKE YOU PAY FOR WHAT YOU DID TO MY UNCLE." He shouted, as his entire body lit on fire taking the form of a 9'-10' tall anthromorphic ape, with a new spell writing itself down in his Grimoire.
"Get me out of here now Valtos." Rades shouted before the ground disappeared beneath him, and he went falling through the gateway, narrowly missing Asura's flaming fist.
"Not so fast." Asura growled, reaching his hand through the portal, and pulling Rades back through it, gripping his head. "I'm gonna make you bleed for every atrocity you've committed here today."
"Asura, that's enough." Kali said gently putting a hand on his flaming forearm. "I get you're angry, I would be to if Asta or Yuno were in the position Fuegoleon is in right now. But don't let your anger take control."
"How pitiful." A voice echoed around them, surprising them. "I come here, after receiving word from the master, only to arrive and find you fighting this? Pitiful indeed." The voice continued before the wind began to blow before five mages in robes, revealed themselves, surrounding them all.
"Ugh. I don't remember putting out the call for any extra help Geork." Rades said.
"Really? You might wanna try thanking us." One of the robed mages said.
"What?"
"You know what would have happened to you, if we hadn't shown up to bail you out?" She questioned. "You would have been captured, cut open, gutted, and skinned alive. An' if you are gonna get dissected, I wanna be the one to do it."
"I'm pretty sure none of those other four things would have happened." Kali stated. 'Not good. My minds starting to fade, I'm not gonna be able to maintain my control over this form for much longer.'
"Well now, it looks like the tables have finally turned you little brats." Rades said.
"Asta, let me see one of your sword." Kali said, turning to her brother.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
Asta reached into his Grimoire, and pulled out his slimmer blade, before tossing it to Kali. With the blade in hand, Kali could feel her magic energy draining, but she knew, what she was about to do, would benefit her in this battle.
"This is gonna sting a little." She said, before using the blade to cut her cheek a bit, right under her eye.
"Kali, what was that for?" Asta asked, with concern clear in his voice.
"Small treatment. Gave me a boost in control over this form. My mind has a tighter grip on it now." Kali explained.
"This one's funny. Can I pretty please dissect her later?" Sally asked, pointing to Kali.
"Be quiet and focus." Geork said.
"Phooey. You're no fun." Sally said as her hand lit up with her magic.
"Here's the thing." Kali said. "I've been fighting an uphill battle for as long as I can remember, same goes for Asta. So no matter how many guys you have, no matter what you do to me, I will take down, every last one of you. Lets see what you've got."
"Has the threat of our superior numbers driven her mad?" Geork questioned.
"What's it matter anyway? I can still dissect a crazy person." Sally smirked.
"Heh." Kali smirked. "You dumbasses think you have superior numbers over me? I've taken down at least twenty men all on my own, and that was before I had my Grimoire."
Without another word said, the mages began firing at them, but the attacks were stopped, by Asta and his Anti-Magic swords.
"C'mon guys…" Asta smirked as Kali, Asura, and Leopold all got ready for a fight. "Let's show them, what we can really do."
With that the battle began. All the mages in white robes were scattered amongst themselves, and weren't able to get back into formation. Sally seemed happy about that, as she went charging at Kali, with an insane smile on her face.
"I might not be able to dissect you right now." She said, dodging Kali's strikes one by one. "But that doesn't mean I can't still use you for a little, field experiment."
Producing an item from her sleeve, Sally looked to Kali wickedly, like she had something special planned.
"I can't wait to see how you react to this serum. All the other test subjects died because they couldn't handle it." She smirked, as she managed to stick the needle in Kali's neck. "Dark Magic Item: Infusion Boost."
Kali's eyes widened when she felt the liquid enter her system, and she felt her mind begin to slip, as she was breathing like the air was on fire.
"KALI." Asta shouted running to her.
"No Asta stay back." Kali called out, moving back away from him.
"What the hell did you do to my sister?" Asta questioned, running towards Sally.
"I just injected her with a little Dark Magic Tonic to boost her physicality and Magical Power. Hopefully she'll have a better chance at survival than the others I've tested it on. Oh well, their bodies were still put to good use and studied extensively." Sally stated, as if what she just said was no big deal.
"AAAAAHHHHHHH." Kali cried out in pain as her whole body felt like it was on fire.
"Kali." Noelle called out in worry.
"Have to… maintain focus… can't let the… Animal take over…" Kali groaned as she fell to her hands and knees, losing and regaining control of herself over and over again. "But it… hurts too much…"
"Fight it Kali. You're stronger than this." Asta said. "You're the one, in control of who you are, not some stupid spell, or some weird drug injected into you. You're Kali, Magic Knight, and proud member of the Black Bulls!"
"AAAHHHH." Kali screamed in pain, before her body began to light up.
"Oooh, looks like she's about to go boom." Sally smiled.
"NO." Asta cried, running for Kali.
Unfortunately, Kali had other plans, and shoved him away, before he had a chance to hit her with either of his Anti-Magic blades.
Kali's body brightened once more, to where it was completely covered by light, before an echoing, boom, went off, and the area became covered in mist and smoke.
"KALI." Asta cried out, tears forming in his eyes.
"Aww, there's nothing left for me to study." Sally said heading for the epicenter of the explosion. "Oh well, I'm gonna see if I can scrounge up a few body parts to study. Might not be much, but at least it's something."
"GAH." A man cried out, before he came flying out of the smokescreen, slamming against a wall, and was revealed to be one of the mages in the white robes.
"What in the world was that?" Sally questioned, as the smokescreen began to dissipate, revealing the silhouette of someone standing proudly.
Slowly, as the smokescreen thinned out and began to vanish, everyone within the surrounding area could see bits and pieces of the figure standing there, until she was completely visible. To everyone's shock, and some relief, it was Kali, but she looked very different.
Her hair was different, it now more resembled the color scheme of her berserk rage, black with a red tint to it. Her tail had grown back, and like the rest of her body, aside from her abdomen and chest, was covered in red fur. She also possessed a violet shadow trim around her eyes and over the eyelids, with golden ember irises. Her hair had thickened, and had also grown wilder, with two long pointed bangs of hair had grown out on both sides of her neck. Not to mention, her natural physique had grown, giving her muscles a bit more mass and definition.
Aside from her looks, Kali's clothes hadn't changed all that much. While her two pointed bangs were long enough to cover her chest, Kali's open front top remained on her, but looked a little more strained when containing her chest, than it had been before. But somehow her pants and footwear had changed, to slightly baggy harem pants with a sash around her waist to keep them up, and martial arts slippers, with sashes wrapped around her ankles. Her vambraces, and choker having remained.
"You're welcome for the new clothes by the way." Fairy Kali called to her. "If it weren't for me manifesting them, you'd be flashing everyone what you got below the waist."
"Man, that was painful to experience." Kali groaned, moving her neck around.
"Sally, what the hell did you do to her?" One of the mages questioned.
"I don't know. This result has never happened before." Sally smiled. "Which means I totally have to take her back to dissect her at my lab now."
"Not happening crazy lady." Asta called out. "Kali, are you feeling alright?"
"I feel… great… better than ever." Kali smiled. "To be honest, I've never felt this good before. I feel like… I could take on an entire army."
Taking a single step forward, Kali disappeared from everyone's view, and Fuegoleon went missing.
"Fuegoleon." Leopold called out.
"Where'd he go?" Noelle questioned.
"An' where'd Kali go?" Asta added.
"Sorry for the light scare." Kali said as she reappeared behind Asta. "I took a quick trip to the castle with Fuegoleon, dropped him off at Owens clinic."
"That was fast." Asta said.
"I feel faster, stronger even." Kali smiled. "Oh, and I managed to tie up all the bad guys."
Noelle, Asta, Asura, and Leopold looked behind Kali to see all the white robed mages, plus Rades and Valtos, tied up on the ground.
"What the hell, how'd you do it so fast?" Asta questioned.
"You just had to give her that magic item boost you were experimenting with, didn't you?" Rades questioned Sally.
"Sorry, I didn't think this outcome would be possible. None of the other subjects I used it on, survived." Sally said, her smile only slightly diminished.
"Well, it seems we were late to the party."
The group turned to look into the air, and saw all the Magic Knights that had been sent off by Valtos's spell.
"Hey, glad you made it back." Leopold said.
"What in Hell's name is that?" Solid asked, spotting Kali.
"Oh, uh that's Kali. She got hit with a Dark Magic Item from the enemy and now her power is crazy stronger." Asta said. "I think it looks kind of cool."
"She even used her upgraded speed and power to tie up all the opposing forces." Asura added.
"Sorry to interrupt. But that's not quite right."
Kali turned to Valtos and saw he was standing with the rest of the enemy. Looking back to the bound enemy, she gasped when she saw they began to melt and turn purple.
"While you were prattling on, Sally and I used our magics to replace ourselves with decoys, that would last long enough for us to get free." Valtos said as Sally smirked.
"Yay, now I can take the Anti-Magic Boy and the evolved monkey girl, and dissect them." Sally cheered.
"Did she just call Kali a monkey?" Leopold questioned.
"Well, she certainly doesn't look human. More primitive primate than anything else." Nebra said.
"You want a fist to the face?" Kali questioned, before her body lit up and she reverted back to normal, with her previous attire from before her transformation into an ape, but her regrown tail remained. "Huh, look at that, it wore off."
"Unfortunately our losses will be too high, if we continue on like this. Retreat."
"What, leaving so soon?" Nozel questioned. "Mercury Magic: Rain of Silver."
"Gel Magic: Go Sticky Salamander!" Sally called out, as a giant salamander made of gel covered them.
"It'll take a far more powerful spell than that to withstand my silver rain." Nozel said.
"Think so?" Sally questioned, pulling out a needle, as big as her body.
"Oh boy. I am so glad she didn't stick me with that thing." Kali said.
"Dark Magic Item: Properties boost absorb." Sally chanted, injecting her salamander with the liquid inside. The resulting effects were of the Salamander absorbing the silver rain without sustaining any damage.
"That's impossible. It's soaking up the Captain's Magic like it's nothing." Klaus said.
"Asta look out." Kali called out, running for him.
Kali pushed Asta out of the way, just before the Sticky Salamander wrapped her up in its goo.
"An' gotcha." Sally smirked. "Phooey, I only nabbed the girl."
'Damn it. The last of my magic was burnt up after taking on that new form. I can't break free. An' I can't breathe.' Kali thought as she began to feel light headed.
"Let Kali go." Asta called out, running towards them.
"No Asta stay back." Noelle called trapping him in a Sea Dragon's Lair dome.
"Noelle, let me go so I can save Kali." Asta shouted.
"You're the one that girl intended on grabbing first. Kali pushed you out of the way to keep you safe." Noelle stated.
"We'll leave you for now." Geork said as the Sticky Salamander began to droop. "But remember this day Magic Knights. We are the eye of the Midnight Sun, and we will bring the Clover Kingdom, to its knees."
With that, Valtos began using his Spacial Magic, and enveloped them, before it began to shrink down.
"KALI." Asta and Noelle shouted.
