![]() Author has written 6 stories for Transformers/Beast Wars. Hello, and welcome to my page! I'm a British lass who loves tea (the cliche is real), going to the pub, cuddling my cat and husband (two separate entities, they're not the same person), Sherlock, Dr Who, Rick and Morty, Poldark, Star Wars, anything by Hayao Miyazaki or Wes Anderson, painting and doodling, and writing, of course. I bloody love Transformers, as you may have noticed if you've read my stories! In 2009 I sprained my ankle and had to rest it for a few days. I'd re-discovered my childhood love of transformers via Michael Bay and had got back into the G1 cartoons. From there I watched loads more, including the Armada series, came across the Alexis and Starscream storyline and... yeah. The rest is history. I actually found Alexis to be annoying as fuck, so moralistic and goody-goody. At the same time I have a huge love for G1 and Armada starscream and I desperately wanted him to have the chance to succeed. My stories are an attempt to finally give Starscream the shot at leadership that he deserves, and create a version of Alexis that is, I hope, more fleshed out and flawed. By the time I started writing my fourth A and SS story, Beyond the Brink, I'd got into Transformers Prime and WOW, from episode 1 I knew we had one of the best incarnations of Starscream ever. I still go back and watch Prime from time to time when I need to get into his character for a new chapter. It helps that Steve Blum's voice acting is AMAZING. I also love Arcee in TFP. I was surprised at how similar her character in that series is to my Arcee, even though, hand on heart, I didnt watch Prime until I'd already created my version. As for the Bay films... I loved the first one. I quite liked the second one, despite it's flaws. I didn't much enjoy film number three. I absolutely HATED film number four. That shitty death of Ratchet in the first few minutes... what were they thinking?? When the fifth film came out I didn't bother going to see it. All I can say is thank goodness for the cartoons... COMICS I only have a few transformers comics, I'm planning to start reading the More Than Meets The Eye series as I've heard it's very good. Any thoughts from anyone who's read it? If you’re here from Tumblr... Then welcome! Hi! Chances are you may have been directed here by the awesome ladybajingoarts, who was incredibly kind enough to do some amazing art to go along with my stories. Obviously links don’t work on here, but be sure to look for her name on Tumblr. UPDATE: Also check out whiteandblackbird who has also done some beautiful art! I am known as itsthelass there if you'd like to follow. I don't post much though! I write other stuff too, mainly exploring the theme of size difference, but not exclusively. Find me on Deviantart under the username SusanStealth if you're interested. Inspiration In case you're interested (probably not but I'm telling you anyway) I thought I would share what inspires my characters. Starscream is pretty self explanatory, although he is cobbled together from several different versions, plus some ideas of mine, plus a few tidbits from film and television, though nothing concrete I could pin down. My Alexis has a few different sources of inspiration. Apologies to non-brit readers as they are mainly British sources, that said they are mostly available to overseas readers/viewers. Alex Drake from the BBC TV show Ashes to Ashes is a major inspiration, particularly for Uneasy Alliance and Elements. Although older than my Alexis, she is spunky, hot-tempered, smart, and finds herself thrust into a situation where she is out of her depth and surrounded by hostile male colleagues (sound familiar?). I also love Martha Jones, the Doctor Who companion from series 3 of said show. I feel like I'm alone here as she's kind of an obscure Dr Who companion but she displays a hell of a lot of strength and resolve, particularly towards the end of the series. There are more, but those are the main ones. |
