 Author has written 2 stories for Pokémon. While FFnet is my home, and I greatly prefer this platform, I am also posting The Calling of a Trainer (and any other stories) on Royal Road and AO3 under the same username. If you prefer to read on either of those platforms, feel free. Just know that if it is posted under a different username, it is not mine. --Stories-- The Calling of a Trainer: Realistic Pokemon story about Daniel Pugh, an OC from Snowpoint in Sinnoh. The story aims to provide a realistic approach to training, pokemon, and a world with fire breathing dogs (among other things). It will also take a deep dive into the religions of Sinnoh as there is so much lore about the region. This story, while based in canon mechanics and rules, does not strictly hold to any of those rules. Pokemon abilities, sizes, movesets, etc. will be based on what I think is realistic. Myths and lore presented in the canon will be used as a baseline, though will likely be modified and adapted into either more complete tales, or changed to something more feasible that plays with the overall plot. Chapter 10 is posted. Trinkets: A one-shot, companion piece to TCoaT. Trinkets is told from the perspective of a fisherman from Pastoria who meets Emily David, who will eventually become the gym leader of Canalave as seen in TCoaT. This piece provides the first insight into 'savants', a special type of trainer capable of only training one pokemon type, and shows how Emily obtained her starter: Locke, a klefki. Trinkets was written for the Inaugural Writing Contest on r/pokemonfanfiction. The prompt was to feature a single stage pokemon (klefki). --Updates-- November 4, 2021 Update: I have started Chapter 11. As my last update stated, I got caught up in MLB playoffs. The Braves, against all odds, made it to the World Series and won, so that's what I have been focusing every spare moment on and I haven't made any progress on the chapter in the past month. As it is now, I'm job hunting, preparing to move at the end of the year, and have a new puppy. I am hopeful that I can get the chapter out prior to BDSP's release, but I make no promises.
