"Ugh, where am I?" Groaned Eddy as he rubbed his head, only to find himself in some kind of strange black empty void. Looking around nervously, he tried to find Ed and Double-D, and soon, much to his relief, his eyes caught sight of them.

"Guys! You're alive!"

Double-D and Ed smiled in relief when they noticed Eddy and ran toward him. Ed proceeded to wrap everyone in a big hug.

"Where are we, Eddy?" Double-D asked worriedly. Before the de-facto leader could answer his friend, a shimmering light gained the three boys' attention.

Turning to the source of the light, the boys saw three symbols that represented three different powerful beings; a Dragon, a Devil, and a God. Suddenly, the symbols turned into orbs of light and each one flew into a different Ed; The Dragon went to Eddy, the Devil went to Ed, and the God went to Double-D.

Suddenly, the once inky-black abyss became filled with brilliant emerald light as the Eds shielded their eyes. A voice soon spoke into all their heads at once.

"WAKE UP."

With a gasp, Eddy shot out of the cot he was in and looked around frantically. He soon noticed Ed and Double-D were also awake and in similar cots. Getting a feel of their surroundings the Eds realized they were in a place unfamiliar to them.

"What the heck? Where are we?"

"We have been abducted by the Nurses of Slaughter, who will proceed to shove needles up our rectums to drain us of our vigor!" Ed exclaimed as Double-D wrinkled his nose at the reference his dim-witted friend made.

"Ed, I doubt that's the case...It appears we're in some kind of school nurse's office."

"Oh my, you're awake!"

The Eds all turned to see a short old lady with short pale green hair and blue eyes. She wore a red jacket over some kind of witch uniform, a necklace of green stones, a white scarf, rectangular lenses, and a big curved witch hat.

"Uh...Hello?" Double-D awkwardly greeted.

"It's nice to know that you boys are alright. I was out on a stroll through the forest when I found you, all battered and bruised and looking like you went through quite the ordeal."

"Yeah, Double-D was just showing off a new invention and then Ed wanted to check out the power source. Something must have happened because the minute this dunderhead touched the crystal, we all got teleported and zapped with weird magic stuff!" Eddy explained before taking a deep breath after the long-winded explanation.

"You mean this crystal?" The old woman asked as she held out the hexagonal crystal that had been the power source of Double-D's invention and the catalyst for The Ed's current predicament.

"Yeah, that's the one!" Double-D spoke up. "My father found it during an excavation business trip and brought it home as a gift. I discovered strange energy from it and figured I'd use it for an invention to cool us off during the summer."

"Well, it seems you only just scratched the surface of what this can do. This is The Slayer's Crystal, which holds the magical essence of a Dragon, Devil, and God who had all destroyed each other long before humanity had risen to its current standing."

"Good lord..." Double-D gasped as Eddy looked at his brainy friend incredulously.

"So you're old man got you a crystal containing the essence of a literal dragon?!"

"And a God and a Devil, Eddy. Don't you know your stuff?" Ed pointed out, going into one of his rare smart moments.

"Yeah, I knew that, lummox..." Eddy grumbled in response.

"Anyway, I'm terribly rude for not introducing myself first. My name is Miranda Holbrooke and you boys are currently in Luna Nova Witches Academy, of which I am the current acting Headmistress of."

"I'm sorry, I must have gotten something in my ear..." Eddy said, digging his pinky into his ear for emphasis. "Did you say 'Witches'?"

"Yes, I'm sure that comes as quite a surprise..."

"WITCHES ARE REAL, YOU GUYS! ED ALWAYS KNEW!" Ed cheered with excitement as he shot out of bed and bowed before Holbrooke. "What mysteries do you have to tell me, my master?"

Holbrooke gave a giggle reminiscent of a sweet old grandma. "An eccentric fellow, your friend is?"

"Yeah, Lumpy believes in the supernatural and science fiction," Eddy said with a roll of his eyes. "Heck, he convinced me and Double-D to help him summon a monster called 'Evil Tim' once."

"Wait, but that energy that brought me and my friends here...it had the essence of a God, a Dragon, and a Devil?" Double-D asked as Holbrooke nodded.

"Yes...tell me, did you boys have a dream where you saw three symbols?"

"Yeah, we all were in some kind of black empty place and then we saw these symbols. They turned into balls of light and went into us." Eddy said.

"So, the legacy is true..." Holbrooke muttered to herself before returning her attention to the boys. "I believe it is best that you three stay here at Luna Nova for the time being."

"You want us to stay at a school for witches? Shouldn't you be helping us find a way home?" Eddy asked.

Holbrooke shook her head. "The way things are, you might not be able to safely return home. As you boys should guess, you've absorbed the essence of the Dragon, Devil, and God. Would you take off your shirts, please?"

Despite being a bit embarrassed at the request, the Eds all took off their clothes. Holbrooke then waved a wand around and conjured a mirror, which showed something surprising to the three Ed Boys.

Ed had the Devil symbol, Double-D had the God symbol, and Eddy had the Dragon symbol. Each symbol was located on The Ed's chests and had a distinct glow; Ed's was emerald green, Double-D's was crimson red, and Eddy's was brilliant gold.

"It's part of a legacy that I'm afraid would take too long for me to explain normally. Luckily, we have a library with books regarding the legacy that you can read on later." Holbrooke explained.

Double-D got excited at the mention of a library as he, Ed, and Eddy put their shirts back on. "A library?! Surely you jest, ma'am!"

Holbrooke smiled at the brainy Eds' excitement before turning serious. "First thing's first, I must tell the rest of the staff here about you boys. But that means I will have to tell them everything about you three and how you got here. I don't wish to do that without your permission."

"Hey, tell them all they need to know!" Eddy said as he slicked his hair and pointed two thumbs at himself proudly. "The ladies can't get enough of me!"

"Oh please, Eddy..." Double-D rolled his eyes. "It's alright with us, Ms. Holbrooke."

"Ed shall become the mighty Devil Hero that protects the Witches from the beings of Hades!" Ed declared, putting his fists on his hips like a superhero.

"Thank you, boys. We will do everything we can to help you three through this and make sure you all feel right at home." Holbrooke said with a smile. "For the time being, you should stay here until we're ready to find you suitable housing here to live in."

"We can live with that. All we really got are the clothes on our backs." Eddy said with a shrug as Ed opened the flaps of his jackets and poured out an assortment of comics, toys, and other objects of interest.

"Always be prepared, Eddy!"

"Sometimes you amaze me, Ed," Double-D said with a smile as Eddy chuckled in agreement.
