First off, someone is writing fanfictions about Draco Malfoy and relating him to Holden Caulfield (I walked... because I didn't feel like getting in and out of another taxicab). Notes to self:

Readers are usually fine with following conversations using just pronouns, or simply nothing at all:

"Hello," X said.

"Hey! What's up?." Said Y.

"Not much. You?."

"Ugh, my dog threw up on my shoes this morning."

"That's terrible, Y. Simply terrible."

"Oh, definitely, X." Said Y.

Essentially, once you establish which two people are talking, readers can follow the conversation with only the occasional name thrown in to keep them on track.

When the author throws in a descriptor in the middle of action or dialogue, it throws the story, especially if it is a re-statement. Descriptors feel distant. The character should be familiar enough to be thought of in terms of a name or pronoun. We don't think of people in terms of their physical traits except when we are first introduced to them.

I feel sad knowing there are not many Princess Ai stories, esp. because none are titled "Heart-Shaped Box." I feel sometimes like I am the only person who knows why Courtney Love wrote the manga. I hope God will forgive you, Kurt, and all the other depressed, morally good people who commit suicide. Anyone reading this, please don't. Lady Hanaka: Okay, more like my not-Idol (because of the whole monotheistic religion thing) than friend (unless she wants to be). First Quidditch match. I was so nervous. Couldn't focus as well as I hoped on my homework. Forced myself to carb load. CAUGHT THE SNITCH! I pulled off a Harry Potter dive. I flew, if but for one or two seconds. The game stopped being a joke. The crowd doubled in the duration of the game--filled up the bleachers. About one hundred people enjoyed our quidditch match. It's a sport that's neither too long nor too short and doesn't take itself too seriously. It's friendly but competitive. A fraternity wants to start one (don't know if I want to play with them though, those overly aggressive football players). The Oklahoman interviewed us. Life is good for geeks on our quidditch team. Life is good. 110 to 50 Blue (vs Yellow).

I currently have no close friends IRL. The ones I have are as busy as I am. I have no one to complain, "Stop spending so much time with your boyfriend!" I wish I were in a Golden Trio; ah, to be thirteen again!
