I haven't finished writing till chapter ten but I got excited, since these chapters are far more than my other story, which, I still have to continue writing btw, oops.
As to why I uploaded an announcement, more or less like a pre-save thing you know? I like when bands do that with songs, so i figured why not with this story?
OWL I:
Silent shuffles muted by the rain. The pair of men carried a long stretched out wooden crate. In a country that isn't new to crime, you can figure out what is getting transported.
Red light came to life as the driver ignited the engine, the driver slowly slid his window down and reached out to tap the ash off of his blunt.
'Under the influence of marijuana whilst driving.' The hero made a mental note.
The hero, on the roof chuckled softly, "I have dinner at nine. Just hate to cut this short." He smirked before jumping down onto the pavement. He expanded his quirk out of his back and stealthy ran to one of the men. The multiple dark purple, kind of glowing, hard tentacles grew out of his. Like a squirrel with newfound balance, he continued.
He reached out just above his ear and pressed the recording button, 'Better to record the audio and fight so that I can look back and double check my mistakes.' He chanted in his head, he learnt from his high school mistakes.
Once he got behind one of them, punched the back of their neck, just enough to knock them out. A shout escaped from the other person that was holding up the box.
Quickly taking a hold of the whole box with his quirk, carefully placing it down on the ground. He felt something scratch his neck. A clash came from the ground, "Ah, we do love knives here." he joked as he looked at the smuggler in front of him.
Said smuggler was staring down at his hands, dumbfounded. "H-How?" He questioned, not feeling the crushing pain due to the adrenaline rush. The knife/hand that was used to attempt and stab him, was now bent at different angles. The hero blinked, "Nice quirk you got there. If you turn it off now, it's gonna hurt a lot right?" He questioned and quickly moved behind the person. "Quirk that turns your hands into pointy steel. So it stops your nerves and your brain just doesn't receive any alerts from your pain receptors. So cool." He whispered under his breath and knocked the guy out.
"Hey! What's happening back there?! You better not be fighting again." A rough voice called out. The voice stopped once he didn't get a reply back.
His ears then perked up when he heard a gun cock. Clicking his tongue, he walked around the truck and faced the back of the driver. He once again knocked the person out with a slap to the back of the neck. The blunt rolling on the ground, he frowned, "Such a waste." He stepped on it, making sure it was extinguished. He looked at the man, lying in a puddle, "Spatial awareness is very important." He scolded lightly and then sighed to himself, "Why am I scolding a criminal, while they're knocked out." Shaking his head, he shot back in action. With slapping a melatonin sticker against their open skin, he called the familiar number. "Hey Hey, Owl reporting. Three smugglers, they will be knocked out for some time due to their new melatonin patches. I am at the corner of XXX. I am suspecting gun or support item smuggling due to the size of the crate."
"Doing a fine job as always Tsukauchi." A hoarse voice came from the speaker, "We will be there in 8 minutes, your dad would kill us if you miss family night." The line went dead before the hero could even retort.
He swiftly took some enforced zip locks out of his belt, tightened it around each of their wrists and got them out of the rain. He then hummed his favourite song at the moment as he turned off the engine. Would be bad for the environment if he left it on, right? What kind of hero would he be?
He checked his watch and smiled as he saw the message from his cousin, 'Our project is being edited as we speak. Publication will be in the daytime. When are you visiting?'
Owl quickly pressed the holographic message and said, "That's great to hear, I'm surprised no scientist even got to it earlier than us." He rolled his eyes at the spike of annoyance he felt, "They're all so focused on one thing and that are quirks." He cleared his throat, "Anyways, i'll be visiting some time soon! I'm sure your students would love to see me again." He taunted.
He actually charmed all the students during his stay on I-Island, honestly, all it really took was a lot of teasing their teacher and being friendly to them. If he was still a student, he'd feel bad for the teacher. But would still laugh, In secret though.
After a few more minutes of waiting, a police car rolled up, "Nice to see you Tanuma!" He said and smiled, the detective just huffed at him. "Hey kid, just get out already. We've got this handled. Email me your camera and all later"
Owl just sent the man a swift thumbs up before jumping back on the roofs that surrounded the area, and back to his agency. Having an agency from a young age is quite an accomplishment, people say that all the time. He just says that it's a necessity as a pro hero, unless you're a side-kick.
He took off the hood as he approached the familiar roof, "Dope." Throwing himself through the open rooftop he hummed as he saw the round training mats positioned in a circle. He quickly ran to the showers and looked in the mirror. The first thing he noticed was the scar that he received from his first work study. A line from the right corner of his right eye, down to just above his lips, the wound was then too deep for his healing to keep up. The same goes for the scars littered over his body. When a big amount of wounds over his whole body whilst being tired, makes his healing go far too slow to completely heal. As for the one right above his lip, he tried to eat something sharp as a kid. He ruled out a staple as his parents didn't use those, just clips were fine.
They secretly kid-proofed the whole house.
The short green curls on top of his head accompanied by streaks of black through it, he got the streaks of black from his dad, Naomasa Tsukauchi. He honestly struggled with keeping the curls under control, as a teenager, his infamous friend Settimo just shoved hair products in his hands with a light scolding of 'not being able to do the basic shit.' It was long back then. Now, with the shorter hair he has now, it was far easier to maintain. Due to bleaching and painting his hair for undercover missions, it kind of just, reduced to a wavy version of his hair.
Hopping in the shower, he hummed as the hot stream of water touched his body.
He swung his leg over the dark green motorcycle (Kawasaki Ninja H2R) and took the helmet off, "Home sweet home." He basically skipped to the front door of his parents residence. 'I haven't had mom's food in a while, wondering what she'll cook though?' He questioned himself.
Knock knock knock
"A few more minutes and you'd be a late young man." A voice teased him. He looked down at the man, he was four inches taller than his dad, literally, how can you not take pride in that.
Izuku huffed, "Some beginner smugglers took their sweet time of me tracking them to their abandoned meet up place." He heard a voice call out.
"Izuku baby! Darling, leave him alone!" Inko scolded, "You do this all the time as well! Always late because of another breakthrough in a case."
A blush appeared on the older man's face, "S-Sorry honey!" He shouted back and nodded his head to the kitchen, "Come on in."
Izuku sniffled a laugh, "Good try, dad." He taunted and walked into the house behind the shorter man.
"Don't make your auntie wait!" Another voice called out.
Izuku excitedly walked past his dad and into the living room, "Makoto! How have you been." He asked with the widest grin on his face.
"Guess you could call it surviving," The woman replied, she has long black hair that seemed to run through the Tsukauchi genes. Along with a beauty mark under her mouth. He dropped himself next to her on the couch. Makoto punched his shoulder, "You're still so tall, you must be like, 6'5?"
He laughed as he saw the sour look on his dad's face, "Well, I guess the tall genes took over the small ones." He sniffled a laugh as he directed his gaze to his aunt, "Guess it comes from my mom's side, huh?" He taunted as he held his hands against hers to compare their heights.
The manager rolled her eyes, "Who knew, that the serious cinnamon bun number two hero who is a grown adult of 25, would be so immature over height?" She spoke out sarcastically as she patted his hair.
He just rolled his eyes, "There is literally a 6 year difference." Turning away, he shouted "Do you need help, mom?" He asked.
"No dear! Dinner is done in a minute." She called back, "Nao, give him some water."
"Yeah, Nao, give him some water." Makoto grinned.
"I'm getting harassed." The older man said as he looked up to the sky. Izuku just shrugged, "The number two hero is off duty right now. Can't help you solve this one."
His aunt just pointed his finger at him and shook it, "That's a good one." Smiling and scoffing, "My jokes are always good" he then asked, "How is Skywalker doing?"
"The man is getting old. That's all I'm going to say." She said 'mysteriously'. "I can't say much, but he is announcing something during the hero rankings tomorrow."
Izuku just puffed his cheeks, "So.. He's just retiring?"
"H-How did you know?"
"You said that he was getting old and announcing your retirement to everyone is easier to spread out at the National rankings." He pointed out, "You really can't keep a secret auntie." He paused for a second, "So are you going back to Japan? To Haimawari?"
A blush appeared on her face, "How are we only a six year old difference? Let's talk about how your parents already started a family after graduating!" She pointed out.
"Stop avoiding the subject~" He teased. "You got drunk and told me all about him." He leaned over, "So like, are you gonna?"
"Is this about her uni crush?" His dad entered the conversation. "I still talk with his mom."
Blood drained from Makoto's face, "W-What?"
"He's still single if you're questioning that." His dad smiled, "Anyways, dinner is ready."
The two shared a look, quickly stood up and ran to the dining table. Zooming past Naomasa, "Honestly, those two could've been siblings if we adopted Makoto." Inko laughed.
Izuku just let out a chuckle before gaping at the meal placed in front of him, Makoto in a similar state. "Nao, thank you for marrying this gift of a woman." She said and sent a quick prayer before digging in.
A red Inko appeared, his dad just laughed and squeezed her hand, "Gift of a woman." He hummed before eating.
Once everyone was done with eating and having small conversations with one another, his mother looked at him. "We have an announcement to make." His dad once again squeezed her hand. "We're moving back to Japan. With your aunt."
Izuku looked at the three in front of him. After a minute of not functioning he nodded, "I'll be coming with, then."
Makoto frowned, "You're going to be announced number one of USA, why leave?"
The pro hero just shot his aunt a look, "Rankings aren't important, well they are for the civilians, knowing a rank would be calming them and knowing they can trust a hero to aid them." He waved hands in front of him, "Off track, family is more important." He'd go to hell and back for them.
Naomasa just beamed and nodded at him. "That's great kid. We'll move somewhere in two weeks."
"You've been planning this?"
"We all have been, since Skywalker gave me the heads up about his retirement." Makoto continued, "I have discussed it with your parents too. Sorry to keep you in the dark." Izuku just shrugged and immediately accepted her apology
"I got called in by the police force in Japan. They need me due to some kidnapping cases. Since your mom and I are close to retirement, ten years or so. We decided to already settle back down in Musutafu." He sighed and sunk into his seat, "I'm going to miss the baseball here."
Izuku laughed, "I understand. I'm still coming with you all." he declared, already holding up his phone to text his assistant.
His mother looked at him concerned, "Are you sure? You worked so hard for your place here."
He sent his mom a gentle smile, "Family is my priority mom. Anyways, I miss Oboru. I haven't heard from him since we moved as a kid." He said happily.
A few tears formed around his mothers eyes, "So happy that my kid is coming with us!" She smiled tearfully and started fanning her eyes.
Izuku just walked over and hugged the petite woman, "I'm just happy that I can be by your side mom."
"Such a mama's boy." his dad grumbled.
Makoto laughed, "He's a family boy Nao, can't you see that."
On the day of the rankings (a full two weeks after dinner), Owl was asked to join them on live tv. The hero tightened his tie and looked in the mirror. He was dressed in a completely black suit, appearing classy. The only abnormal thing about his outfit was the harness and the multifunctional mask, his identity was never revealed to the people.
He was glad about that, once people laid down ties between The nursing hero: Ink and him, the crowd would not leave them alone till they answered a lot of questions.
A guard knocked on the door, "Owl, they're waiting for you." The man said.
Owl just nodded at himself in the mirror before walking out of the booth. The guard who was assigned outside his door, looked at him sheepishly and held out a paper with a picture of him. "Could you sign this for my daughter?" He asked, "She's quirkless and always wanted to be a hero. Your activism really helped her through a rough patch."
The hero nodded and took a pen out of the inside of his jacket, "To who is this?" He asked.
"Her name is Mel."
Izuku smiled, 'That's what I call Melissa all the time.', he clicked his pen and wrote, 'To Mel, I hear you want to be a hero later. Never give up on that dream, my new research with scientist/professor Shield will be coming out soon! A little bonus work out schedule is attached to it. Follow it and you'll be stronger than half of the top 50 pro heroes. -Owl.' He wrote it down and handed it to the man.
"Thank you."
"My pleasure." Owl said and bowed before he turned to the stage. The presentators voice rang out, "And now, we will be declaring the top 3! Starting off with number three, the generous hero with a lot of gusto in her fighting, she also reaches out to victims of villain attacks and funds their new housing." A hero from the other side of the stage entered the spotlight, waving as the crowd chanted; "Lady L! Lady L!"
The woman with pink hair smiled at the crowd, with a microphone in her hand she started her speech. "Thank you for this opportunity!" She shouted, the crowd quieted down, "I want to announce a new program that is put in place. Working with one of the top heroes," She coughed a bit and slyly looked at him. "Owl, we have integrated a special rehabilitation program for low to mid-ranked villains. For the higher ranked villains, we also designed a new program for them. Most villains turned to crime for funding their family and fell to the grace of the addicting adrenaline rush.
As they are in prison now, They can now get job options to help others, such as helping to build shelters or mini houses for the homeless, preparing meal packs for their families and such." She announced, and the crowd went wild. Owl peeked a bit and saw a few disapproving faces.
He frowned, 'He can't really call them a hero if they don't think some people deserve a second chance.'
Lady L stood on the stage proudly and nodded at the spotlight, the presentator continued. "As for the USA second ranked hero, Owl." The applause was explosive, he slowly stepped up the steps as the man continued, "He is ranked third internationally, right under our very own number two, Captain Celebrity. Which is very, very successful for a 25-year old. This man is a graduate at the top ranked school in the USA. He has a degree in quirk studies, chemistry, support items, engineering, criminology and he has a EMT diploma." The presentator took a deep breath, "Man that was a lot. He said he was a child genius, many schools he attended covered his true identity to keep his family safe."
Izuku's shoulders shook with silent laughs when the man took a deep breath, Lady L pinched him, "Don't be so mean, he's trying."
He gave her a sly smile and accepted the microphone, "Thank you all for your service , heroes and many other law enforcements, wouldn't be here without any of my side kicks." He bowed respectfully and kept his head low, "All the information about me was correct. Being raised in a good household meant many opportunities. But sadly, I came with some news. I'd like to announce my own project," The big screen ebhind him turned into the pamphlet he sent digitally, "It is against household violence and child abuse." He pulled on his collar, "And as you all know, I am family oriented, yesterday. They've decided to tell me that they're moving in a couple of weeks, due to their retirement nearing." He sucked in a breath, "I will be leaving the USA."
The crowd erupted in whispers. "We'll all miss you Owl. Take good care." The presentator said with a hint of pity. "As for the number one hero in the USA. the playboy hero: Captain Celebrity." the enthusiastic tone erupted from the man again.
The familiar figure floated down from the open roof and posed once he landed on the ground. The crowd erupted once again. Izuku handed the microphone to his uncle, and gave him a quick hug.
"Congrats on your retirement." He whispered to the man, who nodded at him.
"Thanks, Owl." He replied, Lady L looked at the two confused. It was revealed that they were close, being spotted at one of his first sidekicks for about a year before he started his own agency.
"Hello, dear civilians of the United States!" He said happily, shooting the camera a wink. "Thank you for putting your trust in me once again. and again." He squeezed the microphone tightly, "I am announcing my retirement. I am getting older, it's inevitable." He chuckled softly. "I will be entrusting the title of Number One, to Lady L. Treat her nicely." He said and nudged the hero to step up. After a few more words had been said, they exited the stage.
Lady L tearfully took a step up as Izuku gave her a nod. "Good luck, we'll stay in contact." he smiled as the interview started and the heroes stepped in different directions.
He followed one of the interviewers as they were led into a seperate room. He made himself comfortable in the seat that was given.
"Hello, and welcome to our interview with the pro hero, Owl. I am Lizzie and you're watching NCC." The camera focused their direction at Izuku. Who gave the camera a two-fingered salute.
"Thank you for having me, Lizzie." He said kindly.
"It's an honour to be interviewing you sir. Now, the people have questions." A tweet was holographed in front of the two. 'Are we ever going to see your face?'
He nodded, "Eventually, nobody can hide forever." tapping his mask, "Whilst, this has multiple purposes, it acts as a respirator, gas mask and scuba mask. Although I do always have goggles with me in case of a water quirk. But still, I don't think it'll take long until my identity reveal will happen." He answered.
Lizzie looked at it closely, "So in those pouches you have on you, does the scuba gear fit in that?" She asked.
Owl nodded, "Small air tanks, and goggles."
"How did you find out about quirkless evolution?" Lizzie read out loud, "Excellent question."
Owl smiled, "I helped in writing those papers!" he said excitedly, and cleared his throat, going into his smart people mode, "Well, we, the people with quirks have gone through an evolution. Some people have quirks that cannot handle their bodies, hence the tougher skin for hardened based quirks.
So a fellow scientist and I thought, if quirked people went through an evolution. Quirkless people went too, that's how we stay balanced. So we, Professor Shield and I, offered them a gym pass and a schedule to fit their planning. Because some jobs would like to know or require a quirk. Quirkless people don't get hired as often anymore, leaving them to fend for themselves, maybe even turn to criminality. We offered them money so that it wouldn't come to that point. It'd be great to continue these things until we get to see the limit." He explained.
The woman blinked a few times. "Moving on, this one asks. Do you and Lady L have a history?"
Izuku laughed, "I believe they meant that question as, romantic or platonic history. Romantically, we don't, we're just very close friends. We both interned under Captain Celebrity for our hero courses, as well as being neighbouring classes at USA hero academia's. She is very active in the community and I am too. So we constantly stay in contact. You've most likely seen us together at some protests."
A few pictures appeared.
"Does Lady L and Captain Celebrity know your identity?"
The pro hero nodded, "My family had some connections with Captain. So it was natural for me to reveal my identity. As for L, we still are very close friends. As much as I love everyone of my hero friends. I won't reveal it until we are very close friends." He felt like he was oversharing a bit.
"How long did you study for your degrees?"
Izuku scoffed, "Five degrees and an EMT diploma take a lot of time. But as I said, being able to grow up with a good surrounding left me with a good development for my brain. I was recorded to have a high IQ at a young age." He mentally shook his head as he strayed from the subject, "But in conclusion, I started studying those subjects when I was 7."
"That's amazing! It sure doesn't go to waste." She squinted at the screen, "Where are you moving to?"
"I think it's best to keep that a secret until I actually arrive in the country and have my debut there." He said apologetically.
"Why do you always bow?"
"As I am fully Asian, but american raised. I was raised in asian populated areas. Naturally, my parents were very busy people. The neighbors were of Chinese descent and taught me their manners, as well as their language, which was very nice of them. I still drop off some fruits and vegetables for them"
Lizzie nodded, "They are kind of spamming about when you'll reveal your identity."
"I might do so later these two months." He said and crossed his legs, "At some point my mask will be knocked off and people will learn who I am."
"Do you do a lot of things under your real name?"
He grinned and placed a finger on his lips and looked at the camera, "You'll have to search for me real well."
Lizzie checked her watch, "We'll be rounding up this interview now, thank you for participating and answering honestly!" She said cheerfully.
Izuku reached over and shook her hand, "Thank you for having me!" He said happily.
The woman blushed and slowly took her hand back. He then checked his own watch, "Oh dear, I might have to leave right now! I have one of my last patrols and a bunch of paperwork before I leave!"
The red light turned off and he gave her a salute before leaving the room. Following the arrows on the way out, he checked his watch once again.
'Congrats on being second internationally, the paper is published by the way. Visit I-Island next week before going to Japan? Uncle Toshi is here then.'
He activated the fingertips keyboard and as he walked, he replied to the message. 'Thank you, couldn't have done it without our gear and my side kicks! Will send a voice message with motorcycle helmet.' He sent the message and walked into the main room, which was crowded with pro heroes.
He felt a handful of hands clapping his back and people congratulating him. He just humbly waved his hands and said, "All my side kicks work." Before heading out to the parking lot, he looked to the side and saw an amount of smokers.
He looked at the other side and saw the familiar face, "L! Congrats on number one! Knew you could do it!" He said.
The pinkette just smiled at him, "I wouldn't be number one of USA if you didn't decide to move away at the last minute." She punched his shoulder.
He shrugged, "Works out in your favour right?"
She rolled her eyes, "Not really," With a sigh she leaned against the wall, "I don't feel like i deserved it. You continuously work harder than me, how would I outdo you if you just stop doing something?"
"I don't think that I'm following but, I get it." With a covered lopsided smile, he said, "You still have to beat me in the international rankings."
"You bet your ass I will." She said,
His watch beeped, "That's my cue, keep in contact L! I won't forgive you if you don't!" He called out before walking to his bike. Opening the small storage unit he pulled out one of the newest technologies, fresh off of I-Island.
A fold out helmet with tech.
Don't ask how, he didn't major in nanotech or deepend himself in any mini technology.
It could have been someone's quirk though.
He just folded it out with a click! and placed it over his head. As the helmet and the mask clicked, the mask folded down to his neck. A HUI popped up and he grinned, "Good Evening ATLAS," He greeted.
The A.I. replied, "Hello OWL, what can I do for you?"
"Send a message to Mel saying, I most likely will come to I-Island. She'll have to help with container shipping and finding a place in Musutafu. I'll be staying at your place then."
"Message sent." The monotone voice said.
Izuku just hummed as he started his bike, "Start the playlist, Post-Interview, I survived." He smiled as the familiar tune started playing.
He drove out of the parking lot and waved at his friend. He frowned, 'Her mindset isn't bad, but it can turn toxic at some point, seeing this as a competition.' He tightened his hand around the steer. Mentally shaking his head, his train though continued, "It's just friendly competition between old school rivals."
He waved at a few onlookers, even though it was dawn. People still recognized his bike and the suit from live tv. 'I'm waving a lot today.' He thought.
The tall building in front of him was his agency, building up from his dreams and money he earned from his internship and as a sidekick. He bought the half abandoned place and transformed it into 'The Nest'. It was the best name he could think about, which really suits his hero name.
He parked the motorcycle in his private garage and hung up his helmet. Then entered the elevator, the mask back in its original position.
Once he got to the top level he hummed his greetings to his secretary, Settimo. "Welcome back Boss."
"Good to be back Settimo, how was today?"
"A lot of fanmail." they sighed, "What are you going to do about the move?"
Izuku retracted his mask into a chin protector and shrugged, "I think that I'll be offering one third of the agency to join the new agency in Japan, and leave this in the hands of Ito. I trust her with it."
Settimo nodded, "Understandable, I just got to say. You wouldn't survive without me, so add me to the list."
"Ugh, Settimo, you're heaven sent." Izuku said and plopped onto the couch, "I'll make the email regarding the change of country." He tilted his head up to make eye contact, "Do you think I should put together living quarters with the agency?"
They shook their head, "Keep personal and professional apart. Not a good idea, just maybe buy an apartment complex and let them live there."
Izuku nodded, "You're smart."
Settimo snorted, "You have 5 degrees."
"Yeah, you have 4." He retorted.
"You still have more."
"You're a doctor."
"You're an EMT."
"Doctor is still studying, along with business is a lot of stress."
"You started studying at seven. Don't talk about stress with me."
Izuku tightened his lips and nodded, "Touché." He sat up and stretched, "I'll send out the email and go on patrol then."
Settimo nodded, "I'll let my peers know and let Ito know about her new position."
"Thank you~" He sang and walked to his office with a long night ahead.
A few days later
He shrugged on his day costume, it differs from his night wear by a lot. His night costume actually consisted of skin tight leggings and sleeves made out of very protective fabric. With that he wears looser pants that go just above his knees. A shirt that goes halfway down his biceps. All in black of course, how else would it be his night costume? He also has some breathable armor, which isn't really a big deal, but if a hero that they have in Japan with the quirk deleting stuff and all. He'd be just as fragile, armor is always good.
As for his day outfit, he basically wears a dress shirt with a black tie. A harness draped under his chest, the straps went under his arms and then right back of his shoulders. It's mostly support for not dislocating his arms. It happened a lot in the past, honestly he got tired of it and just bought one to help the stupid thing that villains have a thing for.
Gloves have always been a thing on his costumes, he'd rather keep his hands protected by anything rather than, uh, acid? There are some villains with an acid quirk he encountered. Even though he has regeneration, tending to a civilian with residu of acid on his hands isn't good. His mask is always there.
He tightened the tie and looked in the mirror, took out his phone and opened twitter. 'Last day on the job!' he posted.
Immediately he looked at the comments, he loves his fans. But how they comment so fast is a wonder. They might have bots made for it, just imagine.
'Omg! His mask is loose!'
'USA will miss you!'
'Come home soon!'
'Is that another scar under his mask?'
'I'd let him tap it!'
'Wrap that tie around my hands and i'll be at your mercy sir-'
He stopped scrolling, with a red face he read them in silence. He groaned and buried his head with his hands. "Too much." He huffed.
After a few more seconds he left his apartment with a bunch of bananas. He quickly hung it by his senior neighbor's door. She was very nice, even made him soup when she first saw him with a wound.
With extremely resistant skin and a quirk factor, the villain really could pack a punch.
He then stepped into the elevator and selected the bottom floor. He lived in the building because of the amount of privacy he gets. The amount of space they get too, it's usually a big apartment with three small ones. People who tend to live in the small ones work a 9 to 5. He had discussed his working hours with his neighbors, and as social as he is, he made his schedule to avoid them as much as possible.
These people could get harassed by the public to even get a grasp on his identity. Once the elevator doors opened he walked out into a side hallway and to his garage. There stood his favourite bike, a matte black old school Nissan 240SX or if you even can consider it old school, he had transformed the engine to be up to date with the current time period. The same goes for his project car and the Mercedes-Benz SL280, it still had it's roof, luckily. Most people transform these project cars into a cabrio. All of his vehicles are black, except for the project car. That's a rich forest green, just like the old times.
Knowing that the motorcycle swerves faster between traffic, and during the daytime. Less destructive villains are out. So a patrol on foot would do its job. Of course a few sidekicks will be on active duty as well.
He threw his leg over the seat and revved the engine, the messy room gave an echo back. Owl grinned and threw on his helmet.
Izuku Tsukauchi smiled as he packed the last of his bags. "Honestly, I don't have a lot." He admitted.
"You live in those sweaters, don't even." Melissa scoffed over the call.
Red rushed to his face, "Noo, what are you talking about." He dismissed it jokingly. His cousin rolled her eyes, "I have pictures with you."
"I have pictures with you too."
"Do I wear the same clothes each time then?" She threw back.
"No?" He replied hesitantly.
She sent a few pictures and he looked at it, "That's not fair, it's my favourite sweater."
"It is fair, that thing must smell musty, Uncle Toshi would force you to wash it thrice."
He gasped, "Uncle Toshi knows how much I love it."
"It's literally his merch you got years ago."
"And?"
Melissa just rolled her eyes, "When will you arrive here?"
"I'll arrive at like, tomorrow 13.20 pm." he said as he scanned the ticket.
"Do you already have work planned out in Japan?"
He shrugged, "Kinda, agency and all."
"Okay! You think you'll get ranked there as second?" She asked.
"Most likely, Endeavor isn't ranked second internationally."
"That'll piss him off. Good!"
"What did he do to you?" He asked, confused.
"He denied my costume offer." Melissa clicked her tongue, "So you just have an upgraded version of it. Anything for my number one client."
He laughed, "Damn, second option." He said and placed his head over his heart.
"Didn't I just say that you're my number one client?" She asked, exparated.
He giggled, "Yes you did, I'm going to help mom and dad pack now." He said and ended the call before she could reply. His phone buzzed repeatedly, not even five seconds later.
Calling a friend to bring him to the airport is nice. He looked at the room full of boxes. It was a nice location and the neighbors were chill, he'd miss it here.
Throwing the duffle bag over his shoulder he quickly double checked if every box was fully packed and reread his emails concerning the car move to Japan. Today, a moving company would be shipping everything into a boat and plane.
Casting a look over to his most expensive suitcases. One where his support gear resided in and the other with his hero costumes. He was taking those with him to I-Island, not trusting anybody with it. Well maybe his parents but he wants to keep their load of moving lessened.
Once his bell buzzed it was time. Now, he stood in the elevator with a surgical mask on, a black motoring cap that hid his green hair. A cream coloured dress shirt with a tie and black dress pants. He looked like an old man holding two heavy metal-lined suitcases, a backpack and a duffle bag over his shoulder.
Putting his mask under his chin he stepped out and made eye contact with his first friend he made in Japan. "L!" He said happily and grinned at her.
"Hey 'kauchi, ready to go?" She asked, dressed equally fancy. The reason they are dressed like that is because they're just Titanic fans. You know, that one old movie with the boat...That kind of very much sinks to the bottom of the ocean, yeah, that one.
It was the first movie they watched together at the age of 13, his dad had given him a poster with a list of classic movies he had to watch at one point in his life. The part that really stuck with them were the clothing and how they waved their caps in the air to say goodbye.
Izuku then inherited one from his grandpa and it was the only thing he wore for a whole month. It turned into tradition whenever either of them left for a time period more than a week.
He loaded up his stuff in the back and relaxed once he hit the comfortable seat, "You're the best." He said and patted the board in front of him.
L rolled her eyes, "I only got this car because I have no knowledge of it. You, on the other hand, have read a whole encyclopedia and have had many project cars." She clicked her tongue and started driving towards the airport.
"So which one of your sidekicks are coming with you to Japan?" She questions.
Izuku sniffled a laugh, "Ito is taking over the agency, no worries. Your crush since 19 won't leave you."
Red painted her face, "W-What, no i didn't mean it like that!" She sputtered out,
"Sure." He hummed and unlocked his smartphone. Sending a quick message to his parents and Makoto's group chat.
'Omw to the airport, yesterday's dinner was very nice! See you all in Japan.' He sent it and closed it. His family would already be living in Japan for about 3 days. They didn't have a pit stop in I-Island but immediately went to Japan.
As a pro hero, nonetheless the former Number 1 ranked USA. He normally doesn't get many breaks, so he was going to take full advantage of these short two days.
Izuku sat there, listening to the music. "Should I do a face reveal before the flight or just wait until I am settled in Japan?"
L looked over at him, "After you settled in, I know you don't like people swarming you." A small smile graced her face, "Remember when someone spotted us outside, they asked if you could model for you?"
"We were just starting with the hero course." The green haired hero smiled, "They looked surprised when I said that I was 16. But they still took me, after Cap peer pressured me into it." He sighed, "After that I got swarmed by a fanbase from a few photoshoots." smiling, he continued, "They called themselves the greenheads." A laugh escaped their mouths.
"I think your hero fanbase name is smart, parliament." She hummed, "The real name for groups of owls."
Izuku smiled and nodded, "They call yours bubble gum, because of your hair right?" A nod came from her and he smiled, "A group of Indian mountain Weasels are called bubble gums."
"I will now call every fan ever a weasel." She said seriously.
"Understandable." Izuku nodded, "Settimo is coming with me though."
L frowned, "There goes my drinking buddy." She complained, "You're supposed to be my drinking buddy as well!" She added.
"Who am I supposed to get shitfaced with?" Izuku said dramatically and placed a hand over his heart
"I'd consider it high treason if you get shitfaced with someone other than me." L pouted.
The pro heroes start laughing and reminiscing about their old times. Even though they turned 21 only 4 years ago. They now have a good tolerance of alcohol.
He quickly put his mask back up and took a selfie with Lady L, posting it to his twitter once again. "How do your weasels react when they see a picture of us?"
"Most of the time they ship us. They don't listen to me whenever I say that you're like my older brother."
"Why older specifically?"
A smirk came on her face, "Because you're too overprotective."
"Am not." He pouted.
"Yes you are, literally followed me on my first date. They literally fangirled about you and called herself a greenhead."
A blush came on his face, "I was just making sure you didn't get kidnapped!"
"We know her through Settimo."
"Yeah? Maybe she gave you the wrong number and it could've been a random man that'd kidnap you." He crossed his arms.
L snorted, "Totally."
He just muttered something incoherent and frowned at the sight in front of him. "We're here."
"Let's go get some milkshakes." She said softly.
Izuku nodded, milkshakes along with coffee are his favourite things. They stepped out and he grabbed all of his stuff, most importantly placing his mask correctly once again. Following closely behind Lady L.
There were a few fans that walked up to her and asked for her signature, but the aura around the both of them clearly asked to be left alone. But, people are ruder in American than in Japan. After drinking a milkshake and having a coffee, they were swarmed.
Flashes went off in every direction, clothes were being clawed against. He took laboured breaths, "This is more overwhelming than fighting multiple villains." He said quietly.
They were quickly pulled out of the cafe by airport workers. Luckily.
The plane ride was quiet. He had been placed from economy up to first class, he honestly was a bit annoyed with that and nearly offered to switch tickets with someone. After a sharp look from L, he knew he had no choice.
He bowed to the supervisor of the airport and thanked him. It would be rude to give someone's kindness to another person.
He sighed and looked over to L, "Bye! My phone is always on! Don't call me but text! You know I hate calling!" he taunted.
"Everything except calling, maybe facetime." L called back.
"Everything except calling." He repeated and took off his hat and waved it around, she copied and smiled.
"Good luck, number one." He said under his breath and entered the last gate.
