Chapter 12: Trusting Again
Kim walked down the halls, her thoughts wandering, she intended to talk to Ron, she didn't know where to start.
"Hey Kim." Said a voice.
Kim turned and saw Monique approaching her. "Hey Monique, what's up?"
"I'm asking the same thing about you."
"Well, I've been better." The redhead replied.
"Have you talked to Ron?"
"Not yet." Kim sighed. "I don't know what to tell him."
"You could tell him that yes well, you can't change what happened at prom night, but you can tell him that you are willing to do whatever it takes to win back your friendship." Suggested the African American beauty.
"How can I do that?"
"Simple, by regaining his trust, because without trust there can be no close bond between two individuals."
"Mmmm, maybe you're right, maybe I should start there."
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Monique said. "Go get him."

Kim walked to the dojo, which some people said was where he had last been. She didn't know what to say to Ron to get him to give her a chance. She didn't know what would happen when she met Ron.
Kim walked into the dojo and ran into Ron who apparently was already about to leave, so she had to act fast.
"Ron." she began. "Can we talk?"
"Mmm, sure Kim." Ron replied.
"I know I can't make up for how I acted on prom night, but I want you to know that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to get your trust back."
Ron didn't seem too convinced with what she had just said, she couldn't blame him for that.
"Kim look..." Ron started to say but Kim interrupted him.
"Ron, please listen to me." she said. "I don't plan on doing this to win back your friendship or make you fall in love with me again. Well, I do want your friendship back, but that's not the main reason."
"Then why?"
"Because it's the right thing to do, even if we don't become friends again, I want you to know that you can rely on me for whatever you need." Kim was about to leave, but not before looking at Ron one more time. "I know it was wrong what I did to you at prom night, but I'm willing to do something about it, if you'll let me."
Ron stood there thinking for a few moments, he thought hard about whether it was worth giving Kim a chance, not that that was the solution to the conundrum posed by Sensei a few moments ago, he didn't know if what he would do next would be good for what was to come in the future (or rather the past).
"I'll think about it Kim, in case my answer is yes, keep in mind that it's going to be a pretty complicated test, and believe me if you waste it, there won't be anything left of us." Ron said carefully.
"Well, rest assured I won't let you down again Ron, I promise." Kim said determined.
"I'm still going to think about it though, you better prove it with actions and not words."
Kim nodded before leaving. Ron stood there for a while, analyzing what just happened, things with Kim may be somehow progressing, but he knew she wasn't the only person he should be talking to.

The day in the lunchroom was over, Monique, Tara and Hope were cleaning up some trays, plates, cups and various kitchen items, while Jean and Ann were wiping down the counter.
"Another day over." Jean said exhausted.
"Yeah, well, the supplies and provisions still yield for a while longer, although I don't know what will happen when they run out." Ann added.
"For now we have to know how to make the best of it. Hey, changing the subject, have you talked to Ron?"
"Not since last time, he was very annoyed with us, and with good reason." The red-haired doctor replied.
"Give him time, he needs to heal some wounds on his own before he wants to talk to you guys."
"It's just that I knew, I knew he was telling the truth, but I didn't have the courage to do about it, the only ones who did anything were Jim and Tim."
"How are the others handling it?" Jean asked.
"James isn't handling it well at all, he's still blaming himself for how he treated Ron that night, the same goes for Felix and Wade."
"You should each try to talk to Ron individually, so you could each give him reasons why he might trust you again."
"That's the problem, how can you regain the trust of the young man you considered a son?"
"I understand you, after what happened, Dean and I are trying to improve our relationship with our son after so long having abandoned him."
"And how has Ron taken it?" Ann asked.
"At first he didn't believe it, but over time we showed him that he could trust us with anything, and our relationship with Ronald started to improve." Jean said. "Maybe you guys should start there."
"Maybe." Ann said.

Kim went back to her room after she talked to Ron, she had been calmer after what happened.
" Wow, Kim, I thought you'd be a little more dramatic to get a shot at Ron." Said a voice.
Kim turned to see in her mirror the form of 'The Fiend' Kim.
"Wow, you were long overdue." She said.
"You were lucky that loser thought about what you said to him, and in case he wanted to give you one more chance, we both know how it will end, you'll end up cutting him out of your life for ever." Said 'The Fiend' Kim.
"You're wrong, this time, I'm going to back Ron, as it should have been from the beginning." Kim said confidently.
"I don't know what you see so much in a loser like Ron, he's not even up to having you as his friend."
"Wrong again, Ron is too much of a man for me, he's way more than I can ask for, he's the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm not giving up on his friendship again."
"Yeah yeah, keep convincing yourself of that, it doesn't change anything."
"It changes a lot of things, and when I get Ron's friendship back you won't be here anymore, because you won't be here to torment me anymore." Kim said. "What's more, because I have to wait for that day for that to happen, you will no longer torment me from now on."
"Don't think you can get rid of me that easily." 'The Fiend' Kim said.
"You may still be in my head, but that doesn't mean I have to listen to you." Kim ended the conversation.
Seconds later, 'The Fiend' Kim was gone, Kim let out a sigh of relief.
Kim didn't know what the future held, but she hoped to somehow regain Ron's trust, and hopefully friendship. But the question remained, how?

Wade was still in the lab, he had finally been able to fix Kim's battlesuit, now he could produce more battlesuits in the future, although he still needed to do more testing, although that wasn't really what was important.
Wade was reflecting on the events of the night Drakken had gained absolute control of the world, but the highlight of that was how they all turned their backs on Ron, how he turned his back on Ron.
"Wade, are you?" a voice brought Wade out of his thoughts, turning around, he saw it was none other than Kim's cousin Joss.
"Oh, hi Joss." He greeted.
"What's on your mind so much?" Joss asked again.
"Not much, I was just thinking about..."
"Ron?" She finished for him.
"Yeah." He nodded.
"What was what happened that night?"
"After seeing how Ron took the Bueno Nacho thing on TV, and after he called me after Kim didn't believe him, I figured it was another one of his tantrums over Bueno Nacho." Wade said.
"And why didn't you give her the benefit of the doubt?" Joss asked.
"I don't know, I guess I wanted to wait for Kim to call me."
"Hey wait a second." Joss said surprised. "Are you telling me that you would never have believed Ron if my cousin hadn't asked you first?"
"That's not what I meant."
"Then what are you trying to say?"
"I... I don't know." Wade sighed. "I tried to tell him it was just a coincidence that he heard Drakken on the phone, so I just let it go."
"Wade..." Joss began, "Just like with Kim, I don't plan on judging you for what you did to Ron, but you need to talk to Ron."
"I know, but I don't know how to address him, what's more, the last time I tried to talk to him, Ron didn't want anything to do with me or anyone else."
"Just try to give him time, then try to talk to him."
"I'll try, I really hope he'll listen to me."
"He will." Joss said. "You have to trust." After the conversation, she pulled back.
"Yes, trust." Wade said.

Ron was in his room, he was trying to figure out if he should look for the others or let them come to him.
He was pulled out of his thoughts when someone knocked on his door.
"Who is it?" Ron asked.
No one answered, they just knocked on the door again.
Ron decided to get out of bed and open the door, and he was in for a big surprise when he saw the person standing at his door.
"Mr. Barkin?" He asked.
"Hello Stoppable." Steve Barkin replied. "May I come in?"
"Sure." Ron let his high school teacher in.
"How have you been Stoppable?" Barkin asked again.
"I've been better."
"How are you digesting this situation?"
"Well, I'm still having a hard time digesting this."
"I wasn't referring to the fact that we're all hiding from this Drakken guy."
Ron sighed. "The answer is the same, I still find it hard to believe that the people I had confidence in abandoned me."
"And that's it?" Barkin asked. "You haven't talked to them, you're not even willing to give them one more chance or at least forgive them."
"When I think about it, maybe I can forgive them but I don't know if I can forget what happened."
"Oh come on Stoppable, don't tell me you're going to be one of those people who forgive but don't forget, you're not like that."
"I'm just saying it won't be easy to forget, but I don't think I'll give them a chance."
"I know that broken friendship, broken trust are wounds that take time to heal; but you lose nothing by trying."
"Honestly, I think if it wasn't here, it would happen some other time."
"What makes you think that?"
"I don't know, I guess it was something that was bound to detonate sooner or later." Ron sighed. "You know what they say out there, we have to accept the things we can't change."
"Mmmm, so you know that phrase too." Barkin commented. "If so, then you should know better. Accept the things you can't change..."
"...Have the courage to change the things you can, and have the wisdom to know the difference." Ron finished.
"You should think about it Stoppable, I don't know what will happen down the road, but you should consider doing something in the present, like talking to those who hurt you." Steve suggested, "just think about it." That was all he said before he left.
Ron was left thinking about what Mr. B told him, he knew a risky move, and he didn't know if it would work or if it would be for his good in the future, but he had to do it.
N/A: Wow, it's been a long time since the last time, the reason why I haven't been able to post this chapter is because this last semester at school has been quite difficult, so I had to prioritize that.
Once that question is solved, let's move on to the next one. In the comments of the last chapter some people think that it was about something that happened to me, the answer to that is that it is not. What I tried to do in the last chapter was to show how Ron felt about everything he experienced, not to mention that this chapter was based on the chapter "Intervention" from the animated series The Spectacular Spider-Man. I hope with this I have clarified everything.
I honestly don't know how soon the next chapter of this story will be out, but I will try to advance little by little.
Without more to say see you next time.
PS: I ask you to support me with the m¿demas story that I am working on, I would appreciate it very much.
