AN: Kill me in the comments and butcher me if you want to, I don't care. I apologize to all of you who waited and we disapointed for months of no update. I'm gonna be honest I don't know what I'm doing but I will commit and try my best. I don't plan to drop the story anytime soon but if I do please don't try to hack me and ruin my life. It's okay and I understand if your mad. Now for the reason it took this long is because I suck, I procatinate and I kinda lost inspersation. But now I'm trying again and I'll do my best. All I ask is for your support and criticisms so I can improve and keep going. Much love, BanalGenius. Also I don't own RWBY or any of the songs. Although that would be nice.
Jaune is in the door way with Reese and Ruby still behind him, facing Yang Xiao Long and the rest of her group who just happened to share a somewhat universal dislike of the young man in front of them. Yang's group isn't crowded since the hallways are rather wide. "I ask again Vomit Boy, what are you going to show my baby sister?" Yang asks again with even more venom. Are her eyes red or is Jaune's vison fucking with him?
"I said I wouldn't mind showing her how to play and sing." Jaune said giving Yang a blank stare before sighing. "Get your mind out of the gutter."
Yang's face adorns a scowl after hearing those last words. She steps forward only a few inches away from Jaune. Jaune being 5 inches taller than her, Yang has to look up to keep eye contact. She solves this problem by grabbing his shirt and pulling him down to eye level. "I wouldn't put it past you for stooping that low." Yang says with venom.
Jaune feels like he should be offended by that statement but honestly, he could care less. "Listen Yang, if I even gave a hint of that Reese, who is my girlfriend, would whoop my ass and make me wish I was dead or something like that." Jaune says pointing at Reese behind him, who smiles and waves at the group as if the atmosphere wasn't tense or awkward. "Then to add on to that, as a man with seven sisters and a mother who can put the fear of God in me, I would never think of doing that to a woman or anybody for that matter." With that he keeps is eyes locked with Yang whose expression hasn't changed through his whole statement.
"Can you please step back from me and the door so the girls can exit and I can lock it?" It sounded more like a command rather than a request when Jaune said it. Yang backs up a few paces with her brows twitching showing her agitation at the situation. It was clear that she wasn't expecting this outcome and from the faces of her friends, neither were they. Reese had a smirk on her face watching it all happen. Ruby on the other hand was conflicted at the tension between Jaune and her sister's group.
Jaune steps out of the way the door to let the girls go and goes to lock the door. Once he finished, he turns around and takes a good look at all of them. He makes sure to look all of them in the eye. Yang's shows anger, Blake is not even looking at him not showing interest, and Weiss clearly shows disgust and annoyance at him. Then he looks to the people who were once his friends. The most obvious was Nora, who wasn't even trying to look at him. Her normally bubbly self was tense and quiet. Ren, who is next to her makes eye contact with him with a neutral face he always wears. Giving no hint of emotion besides his clenched hands.
The there was Pyrrha. Once his best friend and, if he was honest, the first girl he genuinely loved. But times changed and bonds were broken. She averted her eyes, but their was clearly pity in them. Pity for the boy that was her first friend and first love. Jaune didn't want her pity. "Keep that shit for yourself" he thought after seeing it.
Jaune then feels a hand intertwin with his, he notices the schools champion twitch. "Well lunch is gonna end soon so we gotta get going." Reese says pulling him to their next class that they share. "See ya later Red." Ruby waves to the couple as they leave. Jaune could only nod not trusting his voice to be kind. With that they were gone.
With that Jaune spent the rest of the day focusing in class to ignore the feelings that were brought up during lunch. He could feel the glares from the Magnificent Six. It seems like other students noticed and started talking. Most of the stuff they come up with don't make sense but Jaune could honestly could not bring himself to care.
He learned that his reputation could only harm him if he cared, so he stopped caring about what others think of him. It hurts yes, but not for long. Words mean little if they take no action to prove them. And so far, the only actions were some bullies who don't even bother anymore since it happened to often that they long since got tired beating him.
The final bell rings signaling the end of the last period. Jaune sighs and starts to get up since he didn't take any books out. It was Ports "Story of his past Glory" class so they weren't needed. So, with that he makes his way out the door and leaves. He hears his name being called by someone he would rather ignore so he keeps going. Soon the noise of chatter fills his ears. He makes his way to the club room.
When he reaches the hallway, the room is in, he sees Ruby and Reese talking in front of the door. He smiles at the sight at makes his way to greet them. "Hey Red, hey babe." Ruby responds with a simple hey while Reese gives a quick kiss for a greeting. With that done he unlocks the door and they all enter.
They all set their bags on the coffee table, Ruby being the only on to take a seat at the couch. She sits and watches the couple set up in preparation to play something. She notices Reese is once again setting up the mic while Jaune has a guitar strapped around him. It was primarily white with gold accents. He was also messing around with a laptop.
Once they were done, they got in their places same as before. Reese went up to the mic, "This song was written by Jaune and I about past relationships and how the people you used to like moved on but, like in a bad way."
Ruby curios of what the song would be like and if she can learn more about her friends sat attentively.
(Play Good 4 U by Olivia Rodrigo)
A bass line starts playing giving a good rhythm and Making Ruby's head bob.
Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily
You found a new girl and it only took a couple weeks
Remember when you said that you wanted to give me the world?
(World)
And good for you, I guess that you've been workin' on yourself
I guess that therapist I found for you, she really helped
Now you can be a better man for your brand new girl (Girl)
Jaune starts strumming the guitar at a fast pace and changing the whole feel of the song.
Well, good for you
You look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you
You're doin' great out there without me, baby
God, I wish that I could do that
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
Ruby feeling the rush of the stands and dances to the chorus and head bangs.
Well, good for you, I guess you're gettin' everything you want (Ah)
You bought a new car and your career's really takin' off (Ah)
It's like we never even happened
Baby, what the fuck is up with that? (Ah)
And good for you, it's like you never even met me
Remember when you swore to God I was the only
Person who ever got you? Well, screw that, and screw you
You will never have to hurt the way you know that I do
Well, good for you
You look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you
You're doin' great out there without me, baby
God, I wish that I could do that
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
(Ah-ah-ah-ah)
(Ah-ah-ah-ah)
Jaune goes into a solo while Reese shows off her vocal talents both astonishing Ruby who now stands still in awe of what she's hearing and seeing.
Maybe I'm too emotional
But your apathy's like a wound in salt
Maybe I'm too emotional
Or maybe you never cared at all
Maybe I'm too emotional
Your apathy is like a wound in salt
Maybe I'm too emotional
Or maybe you never cared at all
Well, good for you
You look happy and healthy, not me
If you ever cared to ask
Good for you
You're doin' great out there without me, baby
Like a damn sociopath
I've lost my mind, I've spent the night
Cryin' on the floor of my bathroom
But you're so unaffected, I really don't get it
But I guess good for you
Well, good for you, I guess you moved on really easily
With the song over, the couple are out of breath. Ruby stands in front of them eyes wide and mouth open. Reese grins, "So I guess it was good for you?" Jaune groans at the pun. "Hey that was a good one!" She says giving him a petty glare.
Jaune glare back for a second and both laugh. "Oh, my, gosh." The couple turn to the freshman to see she's right in front of them. "Can you please send me a recording of this song?! And the other one too!" She then divulges in a triad of pleases. The couple look at each other unsure. Then Ruby pulled out her secret weapon. The Face.
Jaune stands strong having grown immune to the Face from his seven sisters, but Reese⦠She had no such strength. "Oh fine I'll send just stop please." She begs knowing she will never win. Ruby loses the Face instantly smiling in victory.
They then go into small talk and sharing information. Jaune's phone pings. He looks at the message surprised to see who it was.
