A/N This chapter is mostly filler, along with being short, but honestly, I don't care. I hope you like this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it!

P.O.V. Hermione

"He said say hi to us twice" I noted as we finished reading the letter. I wasn't sure how I felt about that. Hell, I wasn't sure about how he felt about that. Did Ron miss us? Was he concerned? "Of course; he cares about us. He only addressed it to Harry because he was replying to a letter of his. It doesn't mean he doesn't care about us, or not love us." Ginny replied. "Besides, we've got our second set of lessons with Cabin 20. I wish I wasn't paired with Damon; he's more annyoing than Collin was last year, taking photos of Harry everywhere."

"'L'-word-y you got put with someone who hates you. I think Mallory has a crush on me." Harry said with a scowl. I felt something settle in the pit of my stomach - jealousy? Was I jealous? "I think I'm the only person happy with the arrangements." I said happily "Lou is an expert at wandless magic, and she had a go at my wand and all the spells worked for her."

We got to the Big House, and, sure enough, Chiron was there waiting for us, with the three Hecate campers. Seeing them all together as a family reminded me that neither me nor Ginny had been claimed yet, and the fresh sadness replaced the feeling of jealousy from earlier. I couldn't wait to be claimed, and I made a silent prayer to my mum (she had apparently 'left' as a child), hoping she could claim me soon. "Demigods, we are here to train for your first Capture the Flag. Magic items are allowed, so don't be surprised if, for exampe, you get hit with an electric spear. However, your wands are also magic items, so you will train with spells that can maim, but not kill or severely injure your opponent"

This sounded like fun.

It was not fun. It was hell. Lou was relentless, saying "This is for the best. Demigods don't hold back, do they?" And laughing when I failed to block her wandless magic. We then went to her using swords, and me using spells. I saw Harry doing the same thing, and he smiled at me. I blushed and my heart raced, leading me to miss and for Lou to hit me. "Alright Hermione, I think you're ready" my mind was blank. Imagine if that was true! But, just to be sure, I asked stupidly "What?"

"I said you're ready. You have to lose to win sometimes. Not all battles have to be won. You can go now. Besides, I have head-counsellor duties to do." I left to leave, "Oh wait. I have homework."

"Homework?"

"Yes. Think on my words. Come up with something wiser. I know you can, Hermione Granger."

P.O.V. Ginny

Damon was taunting me. He was so painstakingly annoying; I couldn't believe it was possible. "Are you the daughter of the loser God or something? 'Cause you suck at fighting!" he taunted. I wanted to cry. So I did. I was an idiot, and a baby, I see now, but oh well. Lou-Ellen, the Head of Cabin 20, came over to us. "Damon, you're on cleaning duty. If we fail inspections, the whole Cabin will know it's on you." Damon backed away. "Jeez, Lou. Can you chill out? I don't want to be here any more than this baby, so if you want to swap with me then fine. I'm sure I'll teach the princess over there a trick or two,"

"No. Damon. You've pushed it too far. I'll tell Chiron. Sometimes I wonder if the right Goddess claimed you," she said, muttering the last part under her breath.

"Thank you, Lou-Ellen."

"Please, just call me Lou,"
