The serum was only designed to completely heal any injury, be it the loss of organs, limbs, bones. The only exception to this rule was the brain. Should a person be stabbed in the head or have it completely cut off, the serum would not be able to heal the lost parts of the body.

It was also configured in such a way, that a person could heal an entire arm within a few seconds while in battle. There were however downsides to such a healing factor since healing an entire arm after forcing the cells of a human body to regenerate at such fast speeds is not a good idea. It consumed a lot of calories and energy to heal lost limbs, so even if I did have a good regenerative factor such as this, I would do my best to not get injured.

Pulling the lever, I saw the greenish liquid from the 10 by 3 cm tube enter into the body of Oscorp's foremost herpetologist.

The Doctor lay waiting for the serum to take effect for a few minutes. I could only hope and pray that everything goes well with no violence.

That's when I hear the snapping of bones. The flesh was being restored like Wolverine's healing factor, bit by bit until his entire arm was completely reformed.

Eyeing the new arm, the scientist currently strapped onto the bed had wide eyes. His expression went from awe to extreme happiness.

Then he screamed in joy, "I did it! I have my arm back!"

I smirked, "Give me at least a bit of the credit doc."

He smiled, "Yes David. I can go home today happy knowing that the experiment did not go haywire."

I nodded, "Yup, your wife and kid would be ecstatic to hear the news."

Phew, one crisis averted.

On another good note, I now knew about a serum that gave a healing factor nearly as good as Wolverine. I'm not going to inject it now, but something to look into in the future.

So… A.I's.

The two main A.I's that exists or existed in the MCU are J.A.R.V.I.S and Ultron. There are others of course, but they're not as well known as these two.

Now J.A.R.V.I.S aka Just a Rather Very Intelligent System was made by Tony Stark and is a loyal servant to him in every way possible. The system does his work, helps his armors, sets his house and many other miscellaneous tasks be it mundane or not. This AI was useful and it would never turn against its own creator.

Ultron on the other hand is a genocidal 'peace loving' maniac. Some people may agree, some disagree. Some say humanity is horrible, filled with hate and that the robot was right in eradicating the human race. Others say he was wrong because genocide is never the right answer blah, blah, blah. I in all my infinite great wisdom, say that I disagree with Ultron. This is exactly why he will never exist if I have anything to do about it.

Now, why am I discussing this? Because I was creating an A.I myself. For now, however, it will only be a virtual assistant like Siri in the real world.

I had been working on this project for nearly a year along with the earpiece yet neither of them ever worked and it was honestly frustrating as hell. Just seeing the damn error message made me want to pull off my hair in frustration.

Typing the final few lines of code, I sat down just hoping that I had done exactly what I had programmed the system to do and not some anti-human robot.

The supercomputer I set to my needs gave a resounding beep confirming that my program had been complete.

A few clicks later and I had finally managed to start running the program.

'Let's see if this goes well,' I think to myself.

"Hey Adapt," I say out loud. Yes, Adapt is what I chose the assistant's name as.

An image that looks like a moving snowflake about 3x3 cm appears at the bottom of the screen. Alright, the first step worked, moving onto the second.

"Adapt, repeat what I just said," I say to the computer.

The snowflake starts rotating faster for about 10 milliseconds before stopping.

"Hey Adapt," the computer repeats in a robotic voice with a slight British accent. The second command seemed to also work. So far so good, moving on.

"Adapt, open the app My Notes," I say to the assistant.

It takes a second before the app opens perfectly. No problems at all in the third step too.

Excellent. Now for the fourth and final step, the earpiece.

Opening a portal, I enter the Devon Island in Canada. The landmass was Canada's sixth-largest island whose surface looked like that of Mars, brown and completely barren, devoid of any human life.

Was I breaking the laws by entering this place? Of course. Did I care? No.

Anyway, once I got sick of training in the same warehouse on a near-daily basis, I started using this island. It was completely devoid of human residency making it a perfect place for me to train with my speed until I learn how to create the mirror dimension.

I was now in my suit, the difference being that the emblem on the ears was slightly larger and there was a golden line protruding from the chin. This contained the microphone that I would use.

'Alright, theoretically as soon as I give the command while running, it should work.' I thought to myself.

Channeling the speed force within myself, I ran at the speed of Mach 2. Sure I could go faster, but I needed to test whether the sound waves reached me or not.

"Adapt, play song number 2," I say while running in circles. I had made sure to check multiple times if there were any S.H.I.E.L.D agents watching me but so far I could catch none.

I wait for a few seconds, or at least a few seconds from my perspective and there was no sound.

I skidded to a halt and that's when I heard the song.

"Sun is shinin' in the sky

There ain't a cloud in sight"

It seems to only work after I would complete my run which was totally not the intended point of the earpiece.

27 more tests later…

"Work, work, work!" I half-yelled at the damn earpiece. It was getting annoying as hell just getting the stupid thing to work. The radio waves that sent the signals worked perfectly, but the sound waves were just way slower than me since I could run faster than Mach 5.

Working on a project for 8 months and seeing so many failures were starting to drive me a little crazy. Was this the patience level I had in college and high school? Damn, I'm only 23, it wasn't even that long ago, not sure what happened to me... oh right the whole dimension traveling to a super-powered universe happened.

"Damn I need to relax," I thought out loud. All this plotting for this and that, I just needed to take my mind of things for some time.

"Mr. Blue Sky please tell us why

You had to hide away for so long (so long)

Where did we go wrong?"

"Shut up," I grumbled moodily while turning off the device.

Walking down the Nosy Mangabe, a place in Madagascar whilst licking a popsicle, I couldn't help but marvel at the scenery presented to my eyes.

The place would be a wildlife lovers wet dream with lush green fig trees that tangled around the groves of palms, fluffy and wild bushes filled the plant life undergrowth along with certain species of flowers that I had no idea existed. Soft bright yellow sand covered the very ground I strolled on leisurely with stones of sizes ranging from an ant to a truck settled on it.

The island was set up as a hold for the aye-aye which was acquainted with the island during the 1960s. Four species of lemur considered this place home, namely the eastern woolly lemur, white-fronted lemur, black-and-white lemur, and gray-mouse lemur. People were prevented from entering here unless it was by authorized personnel, but I decided to enter anyway because I could care less about the rules.

This place was perfect for me to get my mind off of any complicated thoughts. Just me and the amazing scenery with its sweet aroma. I sure hope no one disturb-

Loud splashing sounds distract me from my thoughts. I turn my head towards the sound and that's when I come face to face with the ugliest thing I'd ever seen in my life.

The creature that came out of the water was definitely not human by any means. It had long single-cusped, blade-shaped teeth, no eyes or ears, a long tail with two front legs, and missing hind legs. The ram-shaped horn along with the beast's green and black shaded skin certainly did not help its appearance. It was without a doubt some sort of demon.

The universe really did not want me to rest did it? Is it that hard to ask for a damn break?

A loud roar emerged from its throat and it snarled at me with saliva dripping from the jaws of the thing. I shook my head, snapping away from my musings. I had to kill the damn creature before it caused too much damage to the surroundings. This could also be a perfect opportunity to test my magical skills with an actual opponent.

The demon lunged at me with a roar, intent on finishing me off only for me to dodge the attack with practical ease due to my superior speed. The creature hit the ground, landing on its front legs and using its tail to balance itself. It snarled at me once more before launching towards me, however this time I was prepared. Forming an eldritch whip, I grab the horrendous-looking organism midair before throwing it directly at a large rock. A resounding crack echoed signified the sounds of bones breaking due to the impact.

Still slightly dazed, the demon shook its head slightly and the injury healed completely. Where previously there was a large dent on its head because of the impact, there now lay unblemished yet disgusting skin.

"It has a healing factor," I remarked. "This will be harder than I thought… seems like I'll have to resort to using my speed to kill you…"

I was abruptly cut off from my speech when I saw the creature open its mouth with a slight red glow. The red glow got bigger and bigger before it fired the energy blast directly at me. I instantly conjured up a shield to block the attack. The shield held in place throughout the entire duration of the blast without a single scratch, tanking the blow with ease. It seems the beast was capable of slight intelligence because it growled when it saw its attack fail, before charging at me with the intent to kill once more. Again I dodge the offense successfully and that's when I spotted a red colored gem- I wasn't quite sure what it was- at the center of its throat.

My eyes narrowed slightly. 'Perhaps destroying the gem would kill the creature?' I thought to myself. Everything has some sort of weakness, it would only be sometime before the opponent would find it.

With newfound determination, I dodge another swipe from the clawed menace and form an eldritch sword. Time seemed to slow down as I channel the speed force within myself. I vanish in a yellow blur before appearing right below the demon and slam the sword directly into the red jewel attached to it. The combined velocity of my attack, and the sharpness along with the durability of the sword easily crack the gem.

The monster screams in pain once time slows down in my perception but the sword remains embedded in the throat of the creature. After a few more seconds of thrashing and flailing, it finally drops dead. That's when another fascinating change happens.

The body of the creature starts steaming… my muscles tense in preparation for an attack, yet none came. A lot more steam erupts, this time black in color with the corpse of the demon shrinking until it finally gives out to be a human. Raven hair, muscular body, wheat-ish complexion, and a broad back- unmistakably a human. There weren't any clothes on him, but something else drew my attention. There was a large hole where the man's neck was located, bleeding profusely.

"It seems you have dealt with the problem already," a voice says from behind me. My instincts kick in, and time instantly slows down as I prepare for whatever wanted to attack me at this very moment. Instead of an attacker, I come face to face with the Ancient One wearing white Asian monk robes. My naturally gifted powers subside, but I did not let my guard down just in case the being in front of me was an imposter.

"Yes... Yes I did," I reply slowly.

She looks at me for a few more seconds before turning her gaze to the now-dead human... demon? I wasn't quite sure at the time. "This human was caught in an unfortunate accident."

"Human... wait, hold on a second. I would like an explanation as to what is going on here." I point towards the corpse, "How did that become the creature I was fighting just a few minutes ago?"

She nods once before speaking, "The person you fought was corrupted by a form of eldritch magic written by one of the old ones. The individual's consciousness was overrun by the power of the old God that wanted to use him as his vessel for resurrection."

I turn my gaze towards the corpse. "So some type of Old God that wanted to resurrect itself huh?" I look back at the white garbed woman, "any idea which old God?"

She shook her head negatively, "I may be the sorcerer supreme but I do not know everything. Many of these elder gods fought between themselves for power and some perished during their battles. Their consciousness may continue to live and they possess various living beings, be it human or not, to regain their previously lost powers."

"This must be one stupid 'old one'," I say making quotation marks with my hands. "I mean the creature had barely any intelligence considering the fact that I defeated it handily. The demon was extraordinarily weak too." I stop for a few seconds before a rather uncomfortable thought occurs to me. "So... I'm guessing there was no other way to solve this without killing?" I say slowly. It's not that I was against killing, but when you get another person's onto your hands it's an entirely different experience. Since this was the first time I took a life, it was uncomfortable and well... terrifying.

Her expression morphs into a more serious one. "As much as I would like to say that there could be another way, there simply wasn't. You killing the demon prevented the resurrection of a potentially disastrous being that could have wreaked havoc on this plane before it came to my attention." Here she pauses before smiling, "You have done well David, you may take your leave. I shall deal with the situation."

I return her smile with a slightly shaky one of mine before vanishing in a blur of yellow lightning. I just wanted to enjoy my day, but instead I come face to face with a vessel of an old one- which in my humble opinion was very weak- and kill it too. I couldn't catch at a damn break, which admittedly is my own fault.

I grimace remembering the bloody corpse of the now-dead human being. That thing will be permanently etched into my memory with every single detail of the body remembered. Fuck... this was not how I expected my relaxing day to go.

The worst part of it all… I didn't finish my popsicle.

The greatest downside of being a speedster is the accelerated metabolism that comes with it.

Whereas previously I ate 3 meals a day, now it went up to 6 with each meal having 3 times the food one would normally have at lunch. That was at least 18 times I would normally consume in my previous life. Now none of this would've been a problem if the combined total of the amount of nourishment I devoured on a daily basis didn't cost a fucking fortune. Every time I would go to the grocery store or a restaurant of my choosing, I could hear my bank account crying, begging for mercy like a poor person in a war zone.

After the gruesome events of today, my hunger reached an all time high which brought me back to my home sweet home. Normally I'd cook 5 or 6 grilled cheese sandwiches and a bottle of juice since I wasn't some sort of master chef, but today it was double that amount.

Once I prepared my food, I sat down to eat and continued to reminisce about the events of today. I just killed someone, although justified, I still felt slightly horrible for the act. Oh, I know the Ancient One said that killing the creature was inevitable, but it just didn't sit right with me.

My fist tightened around the juice bottle. I knew I had to get over the whole 'killing' situation at one point in my life, to become battle-hardened enough to face future genocidal opponents, but… 'I'm such a coward,' I thought deflating minutely.

My doorbell rang, effectively breaking me from my depressing thoughts. "Who could be ringing at this time? I certainly did not invite anyone over," I muttered. It was evening at about 6:30 PM and the Sun was setting down.

Opening the door of my house I was greeted by my father who I certainly did not expect to see today.

"Dad?" I questioned in slight surprise.

He gave a fatherly grin, "You seem to be surprised to see me?"

"Umm yeah, I guess..." then I realized he was still standing outside. "Come in, come in," I say hurriedly.

He nods once before leaving his how's at the door. My father then walks to the couch and settles down. I sit down on the couch across from him.

"So... what brings you here?" I ask breaking the silence between the two of us.

He sighs, "Nothing much, just wanting to see my only son." He pauses. "You seem to be in a bad mood today."

I wince at how easily he found out, "Yeah, a bit stressed. How'd you figure out?"

"I'm your father David. You may be able to lie to others, but I know you better than most." I just hope he doesn't discover that I'm some super-powered human in the future. Right now nothing could lead him down that train of thought since there weren't any cases of enhanced individuals on the news, but in the future, he might find out.

"Yes, I suppose," I sigh. "I'd rather not talk about it though. It's something personal that I don't want to share." I couldn't tell him that I killed a human turned demon. He'd think I was going mad.

"I wasn't going to ask you too. Sometimes you just have to deal with problems yourself," He said.

"I... guess," I replied lamely. We sat in silence for another minute before my dad decided to throw the greatest problem I had been facing since I got superpowers.

"You're lonely," he stated as a matter of fact.

"What?" I asked feigning obliviousness. I knew that I rarely talk nowadays with me being more focused on plans for the future.

"Don't act like you haven't noticed yourself," he says with a glare making me flinch internally. "Ever since the accident in the lab, you seem to be distancing yourself away from those close to you. You're a lot more focused now on whatever you're doing. I don't want to know what it is, but you need to get out of the shell you've surrounded yourself with."

I couldn't say a word against his argument. Once I got these superpowers I have indeed stopped making friends or going out to have a party. I rarely talked much with people close to me other than my dad. "You're right, I have been a bit busy-"

He snorted cutting me off, "A bit is putting it lightly."

"Right... Anyway, I have been focusing on a certain project that I would not like to share with anyone until it's complete. So yeah, that's why I haven't been socializing much," I say. A lame excuse I know, but it'll have to do for now.

He looks at me skeptically, "I suppose... but you must talk to your friends more, not just your coworkers."

"I'll see what I can do." I replied.

"No, it's not what you can do, it's more of along the lines of what you must do." He fixes me with a stern glare.

"Alright, alright I will socialize more…" I raise up my hands in mock surrender. "Happy now."

My Dad smirks, "Yes, very. Now I'm staying over tonight at your house."

I sighed and rubbed my temples. "Sure," I reply before getting up. "I'll go get us something to eat in the mean time. Try not to dose off on the couch."

My dad shakes his head and grabs the TV remote to watch the NEWS.

I couldn't help but feel a weight lift off my shoulders due to his presence. Maybe I was too focused on my plans for the future and I needed to socialize.

AN: Sorry for not updating. I've been very busy these days, so the updates will probably be weekly or bi-weekly.

If anyone's wondering what our SI looks like, he's exactly 6 ft tall with brown hair and eyes. Imagine Grant Gustin except slightly more muscular with a broader jawline.

ashernerden: Yes he did differentiate between the two. He needs more power. Sure the speed force is great, very OP even, but there are beings that are way out of his jurisdiction and he needs to have more power over them. What he wants however is to become completely over powered, to the point where he could go against the likes of Galactus or Odin. He needs to prevent the making of villains (future plot points, not going to say anything now) or potentially rogue multiverse reality warpers like Wanda. He wants to become a hero or at least a protector of some sort. Our protagonist could become selfish and ruthless, crushing his enemies underfoot but instead he chooses to help those in need.

A Gary Stu is a person without any flaws. I realized that I should've moved the story slightly slower because it is slightly boring to read. I'll admit that I rushed the first few chapters which I'm trying to improve up on, but my character is not a Gary Stu. I have ideas for more flaws that will be displayed later on.

'Cookie cutter hero archetype building kit', hmm... ;)

Kazuto Tetsuya: His name is David Langston, I edited it.
