AND WE ARE BACK! Back once more with a new chapter barely under a week lets GO! Let's get this going.
IAmMattis: Really? I could've sworn I followed it after I posted the chapter, well I am now so no biggy. You can take a guess what the organization is, the concept is very much the same tune with the one you most likely are thinking of. Enjoy!
xXwolfsterXx644: Can you say anything else?!
Hunter41963801: Yeah...Superman is the least of their problems. Yeah the girls are right, Rita is from the Doom Patrol. Mera will not join for a very, VERY, VERY, VVVVEEERRRRYYY long time. Yeah it was fun with Jason and that is just the beginning. It's both Artemis. Enjoy!
Jebest4781: Don't expect a whole roster, just major ones. Plus some will not return like Overtkill. Who knows how it goes with Wanda, maybe wait and see my man. You might be surprised how she turns up but I will use that mirror thing in the second act of volume 1. Her origin is...something. It's very similar to a certain character from a game franchise. Enjoy!
Gwb620:...Whoops, I was very tired that night and details were lost on me. I have plenty of MILFS to come, but we must wait first. Enjoy!
Pathfinder097: Arthur, as King of Arthur of Camelot. Enjoy!
Blazes207: Thanks!
Kujore Rotimi Abraham: Yeah no stories like that. I'll check it out. Enjoy!
Guest: I know but that's different rankings, this is a fictional ranking so Marquis is higher in my story...plus the name sounds cooler. Enjoy!
Blazingpheonix123: Nope, Belial is a DC Comics character. Oh yes I very much enjoyed writing the coming conflict that is the heroes, mainly Batman, butting heads with Ragna's fight against demons. It is one of the driving forces that both break and forge their bond through the three volumes. Yeah Diana is one of the girls that has to go through a big development between the girls. I don't remember much stories that have her progress that, than again DC wasn't easy with it either. Yeah Ragna has a LOT, and I man a LOT of powers. But a lot of them have crutches. Victor accident is gonna be a big thing for Ragna, but it won't happen until volume 2. Enjoy!
Raidentensho: Uh yeah she is. Her real name is Rachel in the harem list, I used everyones real name or a short name for them. No, the next Devil Amr will be a DMC boss, but you might like with what I did with him. Enjoy!
Spiral-Voltron-Zero0Q1: Well here ya go! enjoy!
Randomguy0110100100110: Yes and Yes, but not anytime soon. Enjoy!
Bradley Phillips: I cannot say how she shows up but it will be in chapter...chapter twenty five.
Yakuza2010: Thanks, his training is am important aspect of this series, and a lot of is very much 'learning on the job' kind of thing. Yeah that's the fun part with Bruce, which I want you all to agree with both Ragna and Bruce, since when THE argument happens, I want everyone to see both perspectives. Wanda will be fun, love me so chocolate. Oh yeah I am really trying to show how people despise Ragna, you know that old lesson in writing but in film: Show don't tell. Well I gotta both show and tell since this is a story. Will he rebuild the church? Who knows. Is Malebolgia involved? I don't believe so. And the Rat City hermits? Let's find out.
SaiyatonianSage: I swear I've explained this three times to you, each one as simple as possible. BATGIRL! Oh yeah I really enjoyed Etrigan in this chapter since he serves as the Devil on Ragna's shoulder. Oh my dear friend, this cosmology hasn't even begun to be explored, Hell is just part of the bigger picture. Yeah I finally got to that Diana scene and this chapter does help and it was enjoyable to write. Ghia'ta is indeed the best...but soon best Sorceress will appear. Ohhhohoh. They will be free, they were just stuck in there for like barely a week. Mmmmm, Ragna does love coco in his vanilla milkshake. Yeah the Selina bit was just some fun flirtation and didn't really serve much, not even like the filler kind. Yo let's fucking go on Elden Ring. Dune wasn't perfect but I sure as hell as enjoyed it. Enjoy!
Slayer78: Yeah, don't expect Dante to be...Dante. Very different concept, not even reboot kind. But yes Dante and Vergil will appear...not in this volume though. Ivy and Harley will appear in Act two after the Atlantis Arc. Of course man, I enjoy responding to everyone.
Skull Flame: LOL, no, no Hellsing references. Oh yeah Lois is very much involved. Really? I feel like my Etrigan rhymes are shit, I'm trying my best, but thanks man I appreciate that. Enjoy!
Alright let's get started. Also the opening and ending theme songs as My Hero Academia S1 songs but by Studio Yuraki.

Disclaimers: I do not own anything here. Justice League is owned by DC, DMC is owned by Capcom, but the only thing I own is my OC. Also the music is not mine.
Now with that Succubi and Devils, let's begin.
You see the sunrise! A new day upon you! You bite your nails and your news starts to tremble! The time is upon you to show them what you can do, and soon they will know that THE DAY HAS COME!
A light appears above Ragna, his vision blinded by the piercing light. He could see between his fingers a large horned figure, a large sword resting over their shoulder His eyes widened in shock realizing it was his father, the legendary warrior slowly looking over their shoulder. Ragna reached out to grab his father, only for the demon warrior to disappear, leaving Ragna in his hero gear.
(A Devil's Justice)
Late into the night I hear it storming! And into the rain is what I pray and I'm hoping'. Now I feel the pressure of the city, oh, how it eats me whole!
Ragna sat on top of a gargoyle overlooking Redgrave City, his blade resting on his right shoulder. Rain bounced off his coat and blade as the television showed Superman off to save the day. Ragna stood back up and slowly began to walk away, sheathing his blade.
So many names and faces! Sleepless nights spent in unknown places, and every day I walk straight into the great unknown!
Ragna walked with his hands in his pocket, hood covering his face in the shadows. Images of his friends and family flashed in his mind. From his Mother, to Leslie, to Kyrie, Artemis, Victor, Holland, Jason, and Etrigan.
I'm not to blame! I'm gonna take a stand! You say my name! I'm telling you to reach out and finally take my hand!
A young Ragna smiled up at his mother, giggling at seeing her happy. A flash of flames, and the boy was crying in a room of hellfire, right arm missing and a bundle of hair in his arms. Another flash of flames and he stood across a grave, red rose in hand, and a glare in his eyes. Another flash of flames showed him in his hero costume with his sword out, roaring as he swung the blade, clashing against a silver hand. A shadowy being with six eyes rose from the flames, a malicious smile on their face.
Colliding fists! They're what's gonna make you! You grit your teeth or they're gonna break you! The time is upon you to show them what you can do! You're breaking the mold to show them you're not them!
Ragna swung his blade, releasing a shockwave that knocked several villains back, creating a dust storm. From the clouds Atrocitus roared and swung his fist, colliding with Ragna's blade, a blur of red flames and silver flashed between them. He jumped over Atrocitus and charged through the horde, slashing through two shadowy figures. He ducked under a strange thunderous bird as a fiery devil blasted towards him, creating a shockwave.
Will we break through? I don't know, don't know! The bells are ringing, come out and play now! The time is upon you to show them what you can do and soon they will know that THE DAY HAS COME!
Superman flew through the air, firing beams from his eyes. Batman swung behind him throwing several batarangs through the air, hitting their targets. Wonder Woman let out a battle cry as she lassoed several foes and swung them around like a yo-yo, before slamming them onto the ground. Hawkgirl raised her mace high, letting electricity generate from the weapon, before she slammed it onto the ground. Green Lantern held his ring out, conjuring several tanks and firing. Flash zoomed through the battlefield, blitzing through the horde. Above them all, a shadowy figure with a lightning bolt on their chest raised their hand high, firing a bolt from the sky and towards the ground as Ragna jumped out of the bolt and swung his blade.
Ghia'ta stood beside Aya, the Sapphire activating her ring and the green robot activating her energy hands. Starfire smiled before her eyes glowed green, coating her hands in green energy, Blackfire had her back to her sister, but her eyes glowed purple. Batgirl had her arms up, ready for a fight, while Supergirl slammed her fist together creating a shockwave. Jennifer held her hands into the air conjuring magic, while a girl in a corset and top hat lifted a wand wit magic spilling out. And finished with a woman with purple hair and black dress summoning dark magic, while a pale white girl with short black hair and biker set up cracked her knuckles.
Ragna landed on the ground with his blade resting on his shoulder, pulling out Hyde and aiming outward while the heroes joined in side in a wideshot.

Chapter Twenty: Court of Sin Part 1: The Lambs of God
[Gotham City. January 21]
Out of all the cities that housed a superhero, Gotham was the most crime-ridden in the world, of both crime lords and super powered villains. Much like other cities like this, Gotham houses it's own caped crusader, who was renowned for wearing a bat themed getup and striking fear into the heart of his enemies. He was also known for having a few sidekicks, one that has been known to be bird themed, a much older one with similar aesthetics, and a girl who dressed similarly as the bat-themed hero. One of those vigilantes were currently running across the rooftops of Gotham, cape flowing behind them. They hopped between buildings, heading somewhere in downtown Gotham, unaware of the eyes watching them run.
Nearby, a group of thugs, wearing an insignia that matched a Black Mask, were loading large boxes into several trucks. A few of them had military-class rifles, manufactured by LexCorp, and were keeping a lookout for any masked freaks. The night had been restless for them, radio over the gang had reported multiple bodies of their allies being hung up like crosses, as if they were some sort of sacrifice. It freaked them out, that none of them wanted to be out here, but it was either that or be killed by their boss Black Mask. So now here they were, several of them on their wits end, while loading illegal supplies and trying to stay alive. None of them were aware of a shadowy figure staring down at them, a smirk on their face.
"I-I don't know man, what if the rumors are t-true?" A thug asked, looking at the one beside him, who was currently smoking.
"Then I hope whatever is out there takes me first, now shut up Gary." The thug said, blowing out a puff of smoke at his coworker.
"Come on, Phil, I'm serious. What if Batman finally cracked and is now going across Gotham killing every psycho path and those that work for him!" Gary cried, shaking the top of his head, only to grunt as Phil slapped him in the back of the head.
"First off Gary, shut up. Secondly, that guy already lost his screws, guy wears a bat costume. Finally, shut up Gary." Phil grunted, rubbing his forehead.
"Will you two shut the fuck up already." Another thug grumbled, turning around to face the two bickering idiots.
"Everyone is already on edge about this crazy killer, the least we need to worry about is Batman finding u-AH!"
Everyone stopped what they were doing, looking in the direction where the thug who spoke last stood, only to find he was gone.
"...Wh…..What the fuck happened to Dave?!" Gary cried, only to jump in fright as something landed at their feet. Phil and the group looked down to see it was a rifle, looking up the thugs were shocked to see Dave strung up by his feet, a groan escaping his throat.
"THERE!" A man screamed, pointing to a nearby building. The group turned to see a silhouette leap across the walls, they pulled up their rifles and opened fire. Their bullets ripped through the walls, missing the shadowy figure by inches. From their belt, the figure threw out several spinning objects, smacking away some of the thugs' rifles out of their hands as well as making them yelp in pain. Gary looked down at the flying object that landed on the floor, only to recognize that signature bat symbol.
"OH SHIT! It's Batman! He's gonna kill us all!" Gary cried, jumping out of his skin as the shadowy figure landed on the top of the truck with a thud. The driver, who was originally asleep, jumped from his spot before calmly going back to sleep. Some of the thugs shaking on the spot, recognizing the two horns adorn the top of the vigilante's head, the hero standing up to full height as a giggle escaped their throat.
"Close, but not the bat you're thinking of." The voice said, stepping closer into the light revealing the bat-themed hero to be a girl in her teen years. She wore skin-tight black suit that hugged her figure and D Cups that had a yellow bat symbol on her chest, yellow gloves and boots, a blue and yellow cape that reached the end of her backside, a black hood that tied her mid-length red hair and showed her bright blue eyes.
"Oh crap it's even worse! It's Batgirl!" Gary cried.
(Batgirl: The Oracle of Gotham)
"...Wait, how is that worse?" Phil asked, groaning as he smacked the back of Gary's head. "It's an unfair advantage for her. Get her!"
Batgirl reached into her belt and tossed out several black pebbles, landing between th thugs feet, releasing puffs of grey smoke. The thugs coughed as they accidentally inhaled the grey smoke, as Batgirl leaped into the smoke. She dived in foot first, slamming a thug on the ground with her boot slammed against his chest, knocking the wind out of him. She rolled under a wild swing and kicked the guys shin, using his weight and the momentum to toss him over her shoulder and into the side of the truck, knocking him out. A thug picked up a rifle and started firing blindly into the smoke, narrowly missing Batgirl and the other thugs, the caped vigilante pulled out a batarang and throwing into the air. The thug yelped in pain as the batarang sliced the back of his hand, letting Batgirl to nearby and spin kick into the side of his face, knocking him into a crate.
The caped vigilante felt arms wrap around her waist, hoisting her into the air and tightening their grip. Batgirl grunted and struggled to get out, kicking her legs out before realizing his mistake, and with a grunt she slammed the back of her head against his nose. The man grunted in pain, while the force was not enough to break it, it was enough to let her go. Batgirl took this moment to kick him in the chest, slamming him into a wall, before pulling out several batarangs and flinging them at the thug. The small blades stabbed his clothes into the wall, keeping him in place. Hearing screaming behind her, Batgirl ducked under a wild swing and elbowed Gary in the ribs, before kicking him into Phil. Throwing out another batarang, the spinning blade exploded into a rope, wrapping the two thugs together in a tight hold. Batgirl pulled out another batarang and shot one end into the roof above, tying the other end around the thugs rope before they were pulled into the air, hanging upside down face to upside down face with Batgirl. The smoke cleared, revealing the vigilante standing in the middle of unconscious or hanging thugs, a mischievous smirk on her face.
"You were right, that was unfair for me." Batgirl quipped, tapping Phil and Gary around.
"P-Please d-don't kill us! We'll tell you where Black Mask is, just let us live!" Gary cried, making Batgirl sweatdrop.
"H-Hey, calm down man, I'm not gonna kill you." Batgirl reassured, surprising Gary.
"Y-You're not?!"
"No."
"Told ya Gary, you idiot." Phil grumbled.
"I don't know where you have been, but Batman nor do the rest of us go around killing thugs." Batgirl said, crossing her arms as the two kept spinning around.
"B-But?! Then who has been going around killing thugs?" Batgirl rolled her eyes, she had no idea what this guy was talking about. Though that did bring up the question on where he heard such a ridiculous claim. Batman was currently elsewhere in Gotham stopping Scarecrow from releasing more fear gas with Robin, while Nightwing was in Bludhaven stopping Bane, so she was practically on her own tonight.
"Whoever told you that was simply giving you a sc-!"
"Hey guys, you nearly done?!" A thug asked from the drivers seat, finally waking up from his small nap and pulling out his ear plugs, leaning out the window to check on the fellas only to see Batgirl.
"...Well shit." The driver shot back into the seat, the truck roaring to life before he took off out of the alleyway, not caring if the back was closed or not.
"Don't go anywhere!" Batgirl ordered, unintentially joking as she fired out her batclaw and took off after the truck, gliding and swinging after him.
"Oh ha, ha." Phil grumbled. Hearing groaning, he turned to see one of his fellow thugs slowly pull himself back up, the world slowly spinning and losing sight of the guy.
"Hey Richie, get us the fuck down!" Phil growled, shaking in the rope as Gary's view finally saw Richie who was shaking his head. That's when Gary saw something approaching from the shadows, another silhouette slowly making their way behind the thug. Before Gary could say anything, black gloves reached around Richie's shoulder, clamping around his mouth muffling his cry as the thug was dragged back into the shadows. Gary heard muffled cries before the sound of something cutting open, when something warm landed on his face, a bit landed on his tongue and he realized what it was: blood. That's when he noticed the figure step out of the shadows, their body covered in black, the only visible thing in their hand was the silver bloody object in their hand.
"JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!" Gary cried, shaking around and spinning the two.
"What the fuck, Gary?!"
"It's here! Something is here with us!" Gary cried, spinning the two so Phil's vision was where Richie last stood, nothing in sight.
"I don't see shit, Gary, and where the hell is Richie?!" Phil asked, Gary frantically looking around for the figure, when he notice the thug by the truck slowly wake up. When suddenly his head shot up in surprise, before he was dragged under the truck, his scream muffled by something. Gary watched in horror as the wall of the building beside the truck was painted red with blood.
"Did you hear something?" Phil asked, hearing Gary quivering as something moved around them. Gary saw a thug nearby be pulled into the shadows, his screams muffled before being silenced, a blood clawed hand gripped the wall, scraping against it.
"How are you not seeing this?!" Gary cried as Phil spun them around, seeing nothing in the alleyway.
"Seeing what?! You're being paranoid!" Gary ignored Phil as he watched the thug that was stabbed into the wall be pulled out and dragged into the shadows, silenced by another blood twisting sound, when the shadowy figure disappeared into the air. Seconds later, something landed beside them, looking down, Gary saw it was Richie.
"What the hell was that?" Phil asked, hearing something land behind them. Before Gary could answer, he watched Richie be dragged by the trucks, more blood painting the walls. That's when Gary realized something else, there were only two thugs left.
"Oh fuck...Oh fuck, it's coming for us, Phil, it's here for us!" Gary cried, shaking the two as they spun around.
"Oh for fucking God's sake, will you fucking stop shaking us, there is nothing he-!" Phil tantrum was silenced as something grabbed his coat, stopping the two from spinning. Expecting Batgirl or a thug, he was about to make a sharp jab, only for his eyes to widened at the sight of crimson blood coating the figures hands, in their hand was a silver cross painted red with blood. His eyes slowly trailed up to stay up into a faceless void of a hood, the figure staring down at them, not a sign of life in that hood.
"Phil? Phil, are you okay?" Gary asked, trying his best to see what stopped them.
"Wha...What the fuck are you?" Phil muttered, watching the figure put the bloody cross away, reaching into his belt and pulled out another cross, this one was golden.
"Lord Jesus, Son of God." The figure stated, a deep voice echoing from the hood, holding the cross in their face. Phil watched as the cross sizzled and smoked, before it started glowing hot, burning the figure's hand. Yet the figure ignored the pain, holding it out as the heat burned hotter and hotter.
"Have mercy on him." The figure stated, looking back down at Phil, lowering the cross. The thug's eyes widened, struggling against the rope as the heat started making his skin sweat.
"P-Phil?!"
"A Sinner."

"AAAUUUUGGHHH!"
(A Devil's Justice)
"Make sure to make room in Blackgate for Black Mask and his goons tonight." Batgirl said, handing the thug to the police, standing in front of the crashed trunk. Luckily she had caught in the nick of time and pulled the truck to a stop, crashing into a fire hydrant and knocking the thug out. A few officers arrived hearing a distress in the neighborhood, few were not surprised to find one of the vigilantes of their city cuffing a Black Mask thug. Seeing she was good to leave, Batgirl fired her claw and launched into the sky, gliding across the skyscrapers and making her way to where the thugs were last at. Tonight had been a pretty simple night: She finished her homework for her classes at Gotham University, she checked in on her dad at the GCPD, and she can end the night with stopping Black Mask and his illegal gun trade. Things were going pretty gre-
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!" Batgirl's eyes widened hearing the scream, it was nearby, in fact it sounded near where she left the unconscious thugs. Zipping and gliding as fast as she could, Batgirl rolled into the alleyway and ran into the area, only to cringe in disgust as a powerful rancid stench filled the air. Coughing in her hand, Batgirl opened her eyes, only to gasp at the sight before her.
"Oh..my...god." Batgirl whispered, covering her mouth in horror at the sight before her: an absolute bloodbath. Blood painted the walls and floors, pools spreading like webs across the stone floor. Batgirl took an uneasy step back, appalled at the sight before her, only to realize something was missing. Where were all the thugs she left? Her ears picked up the sound of dripping, and noticed several blood trails going down to the ground. That's when she saw them, her jaw dropping in disgust and shock, the thugs were stabbed into the walls like they were on a cross. Blood painted behind them like crimson wings, their throats slit, and she saw that one in the center had what appeared to be a cross burned on his face. She looked up and saw words written in blood above the thugs.
"Kyrie eleison…..Lord have mercy?" Batgirl whispered in confusion, when she heard shuffling above her. Looking up, the caped vigilante saw a figure hop across buildings, Batgirl instantly fired her batclaw and flew after them. She landed on top of the roof and gave chase, hopping and jumping over the gaps between buildings as the figure kept their distance away from her. Pulling out batarangs, she flung them towards the shadowy figure, only for them to throw something back. She ducked just in time as three silver blades knocked her batarangs out of the air and nearly took her head off. Batgirl pulled out her batclaw and fired, the rope latching around the figure's legs, tripping him into a nearby neon sign. The figure instantly pulled out a cross and cut the rope, taking a crouched position as Batgirl landed on the building with him.
"You aren't going anywhere, murderer." Batgirl seethed, glaring at the robe figure. Taking a good look at the figure, she noticed his physique was eerily male, a skin tight black suit with a hood covering their face. Batgirl took notice of the cross on their chest, and a belt filled with several silver crosses and other trinkets. The figure held the cross up high, a silver blade extending from one end of the cross, surprising Batgirl before the figure launched at her.
Batgirl ducked under each swing, punching the hooded figure in the ribs, but it seemed to no avail as he continued his attack. He swung with precision, each attack going for the vital areas, but years of training and fighting have made Batgirl faster to this sort of reactive speed. Still, she wondered who this figure was, he was no Shadow for the League of Assassins, as far as she could tell. The figure twirled the cross and swung, Batgirl ducking under the swing only to be kneed in the gut, the figure kicking her away. Batgirl rolled back on her feet and threw several batarangs at the shadowy figure, who returned the effort with his own pair of miniature crosses, knocking both throwing blades onto the roof.
Batgirl charged and jumped into the air, spinning her leg, only for it to be blocked by the assailant. Batgirl twisted her body and delivered a right hook to the figure's cheek, only for him to spin his body and kick her in the ribs. Batgirl grabbed his leg and kept him in place, pulling her fist back and punching him square in the face, letting him go at the last second and letting him crash against the back of the neon sign, exploding one of the letters and letting sparks fly everywhere. Batgirl cringed as the figure pulled themselves back up, a sickly crack echoing across the roof as the figure charged at her again. Batgirl blocked his swing and chopped his hand, knocking the cross out of it before punching him in the gut, to her shock he made no noise of pain or reaction. The two traded blow after blow, punches and kicks before a final punch knocked both back. Batgirl panted as she held her fist up and prepared for any action, but to her shock the figure simply pulled themselves back up and stared at Batgirl, it was as if he wasn't even tired…..or breathing. The neon sign behind him flashed on and off, sparks flying off him as he stared at Batgirl. The light's flashed off and back on, Batgirl's eyes widened when out of nowhere two more of the shadowy figures appeared beside the first one. The lights flickered and two more appeared, than finally three more.
The figures stood across from Batgirl, and she noticed that the rest had their hands together like they were praying. She saw the first one reached into their pocket, their other hand shifting with his other hand, before looking back at Batgirl. Her reflexes kicked in and the vigilante ducked at the last second as something flew past where her head was, looking back up glaring at the figure, only to see that all of them were gone. Not even a trace of them remains. Batgirl felt the cool air hit her face, eyes widening, her head shooting back to see her mask stabbed into the wall by a silver cross. She ran over and pulled her mask off, quickly slipping it back on before anyone would see. She noticed the silver cross had a note wrapped around it, she quickly unwrapped the paper and opened it up, gasping in horror at what she read.
'Stay out of this, Miss Gordon, the Lord is only so merciful.'
They….they knew who she was. How?! How did they know? Who….who were those shadowy figures? And where are they now?
(A Devil's Justice)
Lois peeked around the corner, checking if anyone was around, before walking around the warehouse and making her way to the selected location. She was currently in Metropolis Harbor, looking for her informant, someone who can give her info that she needed about her report. She had been trying to put the pieces together in this recent scoop, one that may be the biggest in her entire life, even more than Superman's identity. Now here she was, walking alone in the dead of night to meet some random stranger for information on these hooded figures that have been appearing around Gotham and Metropolis. She wished Jimmy was here, but the poor kid was at the Daily Planet filing papers, she pitied him.
"Mrs. Kent?" Lois looked up to see someone hiding behind the corner of a warehouse, wearing a black trenchcoat. He was gruff with a shade of black glasses, protecting his facial features.
"Thank you for meeting with me, Mr….?"
"It doesn't matter who I am, I have exactly what you need." The man said, pulling out a folder and handing it to the woman. Lois opened up the folder to see several more pictures that showed the shadowy figures running across streets.
"I've been following these freaks for a long time, I was the only one who knew they were around, watching us." The man said, looking around to make sure no one was around.
"What are they?" Lois asked, staring at a picture that appeared to be several hopping across the Daily Planet, which freaked her out even more knowing they were basically right above her.
"Some sort of Christian Cult or something, fucking crazy religious freaks, who the hell knows. Just know that they are always watching us, they only appear in Metropolis for a short time, before disappearing back to whatever den they come from." The man said, Lois kept looking through the pictures. She could not believe the amount of theories that could spring from this, and make the world open their eyes to real dangers, it's like they thought threats like Darkseid would never spring up and went about their lives.
"Where do they come from?" Lois asked, closing the folder and looking up at the man.
"Who knows, they could be just normal people living under our noses and we couldn't even tell. But what we do know is this: They are here among us, walking beside us, right under our ni-grrkk!" Lois' head shot up as the man jolted forward, his glasses falling off revealing his look of shock. Lois watched in horror as the man spat out blood before falling over, a silver cross stabbed into his back. Lois looked up to see a shadowy figure standing across from her, his hand stretched out and pulling out another cross. Lois bolted away as the shadowy figure gave chase, running right behind Lois. Lois took a sharp right turn between two warehouses, grabbing any random board or tire, knocking them behind her and trying to stumble the shadowy figure. Just as she was about to make the corner, Lois crashed into a hard wall, falling on her ass with a groan. Lois looked back up, gasping in fear as another one of the shadowy figures appeared, followed by two others. She heard a thud above her, looking up to see several others leaning over the warehouses staring down at her.
"Mrs. Kent." Lois head looked back down to see two of the figures step aside, revealing a male figure covered in similar clothing, but unlike the rest he wore silver pauldrons on that adorn silver crosses, his chest wore body armor that appeared to be chainmail of sorts, in his right arm was a silver gauntlet, talons on his left. Over his shoulder was a large broadsword with a red jewel on the pommel.
"W-Who the he-!"
"It matters not who we are, to you we were nothing. Myth." The man said, reaching down and pulling Lois back on her feet. Lois heard shuffling behind her, looking over her shoulder she saw two of the hooded figures carry her informant away, disappearing into the shadows.
"As far as the world knows, he doesn't exist, he was never born. Kyrie eleison." The man muttered, patting his chest and forehead, as if he was making the cross. Lois felt the folder slip from her hands and into the man's, staring down at her through the void of his hood.
"As far as the world is concerned, we WERE a myth." The man said, pulling out a golden cross, muttering a few words before the cross burned hot with white flames. Lois watched in despair as all her work was burned to ashes before her, the kindle dissolving in the man's hand.
"Go home, Mrs. Kent, we do not deem you as a sinner despite your transgressions. Even if your husband is one of the most powerful beings on the planet, no one is above the Will of the Lord himself, and we will hunt you down." Lois' eyes widened in realization, they knew who her husband really was. Who the hell were these guys?
"Go home, speak to no one about this, you never saw us." With that the man walked around Lois, the reporter turned around to give the guy a piece of her mind, only to see she was alone, not a figure in sight.
"What….what the hell are they?" Lois muttered, quickly gathering her things and heading home, trying to gather her thoughts. Above her, leaning over the skyscrapers like gargoyles, the shadowy figures watch the reporter leave.
"We were a myth….but tonight that changes." The head figure growled.
"Tonight, my brothers and sisters, we begin our first phase." The figure said, flashes of light appeared, with each flash the shadowy figures disappeared. It left the main one last, staring up at the moon, holding up his hands and praying.
"In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Let the Crusade begin."
"Amen."
(A Devil's Justice)
Redgrave City was never quiet even at this time of night, hours before the sun would rise up: taxis and cars honking as traffic was slow, dogs barking at the moon. Above one of the downtown buildings, Ragna was currently on the move, well moving around as shadow beasts snarled and slashed at his coat. Demonic hellhounds ripped from the shadows and lunged at him, only to be blasted into pieces by Hyde.
"Down Doggies!" Ragna quipped as he skated across the roof, firing several more rounds out of Hyde, obliterating the shadow hounds. Tonight was a pretty relaxing night, after the whole fiasco with Etrigan and the Curse, Ragna could not sleep. After unleashing that inner Beast he couldn't get it out of his head, but the night was not completely bad.
Aunt Leslie was back.
Oh how he missed her, it's been nearly nine months since she left last year at the beginning of summer. Seeing her lifted his entire mood and he spent the rest of the night talking with her and introducing her to the girls. He honestly couldn't tell what she thought of them, but it seemed her and Diana were closer than the rest, which confused him but his Aunt never delved that much about it. After some time, she had to go home and make sure her church, a Catholic Church a few miles away from his apartment, was in tip top shape. He promised her after school he would visit, and she was on her way, but afterwards he couldn't really sleep. He needed fresh air and to stretch his limbs, so while the girls slept he disappeared through his bedroom and into the night air. It wasn't quiet for long as demons from the shadows appeared, hellhounds and monsters coming to kill him.
They were welcome to try.
"Come on boy, get the sword!" Ragna taunted, pulling out his blade and slicing a demon in two, before flinging his blade like a boomerang and conjuring Ifrit. He smashed a shadow hound into ashes with a single punch, from his hand he blasted a fireball from his fist, the flames flying off into the sky. He held his hand out as several hounds lunged at him, only to be impaled by his flying sword, dissolving as he switched out Ifrit and held his sword. Ragna swung his blade so fast it appeared he had a hundred arms, severing and slicing demons left and right, as much as he wanted to take Etrigan's lesson to heart. This, this is what he needed to do. He sliced one more demon, before more starting popping up from the shadows.
"Alright, who's next?" Ragna asked, aiming his blade at them. Before a demon could lunge, something silver flew past him and into several demons. To his surprise the demons burst into white flames, screaming in agony as their bodies dissolved into kindling. Ragna looked over his shoulder to see a figure standing across from him, wearing a black skin tight suit with a silver cross on his chest, and several crosses on his belt. Ragna slowly placed his sword away, but did not lower his guard, something did not feel right about this guy.
"Uh….thanks, random hooded stranger. I'm Sparda, nice to meet you." Ragna greeted, his mask filter on, distorting his voice as the figure stared at him. His senses screamed at him to be on guard for anything, and that anything was a silver cross flung in his direction. Ragna stepped aside, avoiding the blade, turning back to the hooded figure as they pulled out two more crosses, blades popping out of the end.
"What the heck is wrong wi-ow." Ragna muttered, feeling a strange stinging sensation in his arm, like a bee sting. Reaching over, Ragna felt something warm, pulling back he was surprised to see it was blood, his blood. Now Ragna has bled before, obviously, but something was wrong. Wha…..Why wasn't the wound closing? Before he could inspect again, Ragna reactively pulled out his blade to stop a cross inches from his face, only to grunt in pain as something cold slashed across his chest. Ragna grunt in pain as the stinging continued, jumping back, and feeling blood stain his chest and shirt. Not only that, he also felt...sick. He felt his stomach churn and groan, which was weird because he rarely gets sick, the only time he feels like this….is when he is at the Church.
He jumped out of the way of a spinning blade, spinning around and kicking the hooded figure in the ribs, only to be surprised when all he did was hit air and slam his foot into a wall. Now usually he would feel really bad because he no doubt make a hole in it, however, he was shocked to see his foot simply make an imprint and not completely obliterate it….and he wasn't even holding back that much. He felt...weird, like his body wasn't working properly. He felt his body being drained, but how? His movement was fine but it felt like he wasn't at one hundred percent, which gave this strange hooded figure ample opportunity to attack. Ragna swung his blade and parried the hooded figure, but this man was clearly well trained, spinning his blade and swinging at Ragna, only to be pushed back by a bullet of Ragna's, missing the assassin by a little. The figure threw several cross shurikens at Ragna, the half-devil hero knocking each one aside with his blade before the figure tackled him across the roof and off the side.
"AH CRAP BASKETS!" Ragna cried as he crashed through several balconies, before crashing into the earth. Ragna groaned in pain, which scared him even more since this sort of stuff never hurt him that much, when the assassins pulled themselves back up. It towered over Ragna, a silver cross in hand, before rising high above it's head, intending to end Ragna. Ragna reached for his blade and prepared to strike, when the unexpected happened.
"Grrkl." The figure croaked, it's body convulsing, dropping the cross and holding it's throat. The figure gurgled and choked before collapsing, it's body convulsing for a few more seconds before it stopped, Ragna didn't need to be a genius to know he was dead. Before he could do anything else, the body burst into white flames, the body burning away, reduced to ashes. Ragna stared at what remains of the body in shock, having no idea what the heck just happened. Slowly pulling himself back up, Ragna groaned in pain, something must have broken, which made him worry on why it hasn't healed. Luckily he had just the thing for this situation, reaching into his pocket and pulling out the demonic green star, crushing the crystal and smashing it against his chest. He took a sigh of relief as the pain slowly disappeared, his bones and muscles healing. Ragna popped his neck and picked up his blade, holstering it before looking down at his hand, wondering what just happened. Even after healing, his body still felt weak, but why? So many questions and so little answers, ones he had no time to think when the sound of his phone vibrating pulled him from his thoughts. Pulling out his phone, his eyes popped almost animatedly out of their sockets seeing he had a few hours until school started.
"Oh crap basket, gotta go!" Ragna put his phone away and boosted into the sky….only to land right back where he stood. The half-devil teen eyes widened seeing he only jumped a few feet off the ground, jumping a few more times to try and get off the ground. He….he couldn't use his strength?! He had no time to think, so quickly taking his gear and wrapping his sword and guns with his coat, the half-devil teen quickly bolted out of the alleyway trying to stay out of sight and back home. He was unaware of the eyes watching him go, shadows hidden within the dark sky.
"I apologize, Archbishop, I believed the scout had blown our cover, I did not know he would succeed in wounding the hybrid." A shadowy figure asked, looking up at his superior. "Perhaps I was too hasty in activating the cyanide."
"What done is done." The Archbishop stated, wrapping his right gauntlet and left hand behind his back.
"Shall I pursue the boy?"
"...No. That green crystal must have healed him, no doubt the effects have worn off. Now he will be much more aware of us should we strike again, we must find him when he is vulnerable. Send out another scout, but keep their distance." The Archbishop ordered.
"Yes, your Excellency. The troops are also in position."
"Good. Make haste." With that the two disappeared within the shadows. Sometime later, in downtown Redgrave, hermits and hobos of Rat City gathered around fire barrels. Suddenly, many of the denizens jumped in fright as a scream filled the alleyway, looking towards the source only to see shadows. However, from the shadows a dark figure walked out, blood dripping behind them.
"Denizens of this proclaimed 'Rat City', your troubles will be over soon." The figure said, tossing an object towards the group. Many of the homeless jumped up in horror seeing it was a bloody head, their shocked still face staring right back at them.
"For colluding with the dark evil, and failing to support and leave one of our own, we shall cleanse you of your sins." The man said, reaching behind his back and pulling out a large broadsword.
"Jesus fucking Christ man!" A homeless man cried, trying to escape into the alleys, only to be blocked off by several more shadowy figures, crosses and blades in their hands. Many denizens of Rat City realized they were cut off, surrounded by these strange beings.
"Lord, forgive me." The man said, forming a cross on his body with his right hand, as the dark figures slowly surrounded the hermits.
"For tonight, I cleanse the sinners in your name, in blood." The man said, swinging his blade. Blood painted several homeless as one of their own was chopped clean in half. One tried to scream in horror, but her throat was slit by a cross. Many tried to escape, but they were pulled back into the shadows, their screams silenced by the blade as blood painted the alleyway.

At one point Ragna always had to worry about his strength, when he was six he could lift up the fridge with one hand, when he was eight he could crush rock with enough force to make it diamond. When he was fourteen he could leap over tall buildings and was faster than a locomotive. On New Years, he had enough strength to crack the city in half, with or without his sword. He didn't know how strong he was compared to Superman, but he figured he was a lot stronger than Hawkgirl and Green Lantern, maybe even Flash.
But now…..now he couldn't even break this rock and turn it to dust, staring at the small rock as students gathered around him. He was lucky enough to get home, get his clothes and wash up, and make it to school just in time. The girls were in their own classes, and he felt a little bad that something might happen, but he also had confidence that Ghia'ta, Diana, Starfire, and Aya would be just fine. Jennifer stayed simply because she was the second oldest of the group, and she wished to meditate with her thoughts alone. Ragna didn't mind, in fact he trusted Jennifer to not make a mess compared to Diana or Blackfire….though the girls have being doing fine so far.
He shook the worry away as he stared at the rock, one he picked up at the doorsteps to Redgrave Academy, ever since he got attacked by that weird freak he felt….different. Like his body wasn't as strong as he used to be. Now, as he kept trying to crush the rock, he couldn't even make a dent in it. Was it something in the metal? Or maybe something it was coated in?
"Ragna, that rock is not going to magically turn into diamond if you stare at it hard enough." A voice laced with sarcasm spoke beside Ragna, feeling the same person lean on his right shoulder, looking over to see Artemis staring at him with a cocked eyebrow, wondering why her friend was staring at some rock.
"Hehe, sorry Artemis, I saw this rock and I thought I could paint it or something and give it to Aunt Leslie when I visit her after school." Ragna said, to be honest, that wasn't such a bad idea.
"Oh shit, really? Miss Cardiney's back?" Artemis asked, sitting back down, a little bit of joy in her tone. While Artemis didn't care much for the old crones or nuns, Ragna's surrogate Aunt was the only one she considered 'alright', the lady was not afraid to speak her mind when needed, especially if the right buttons were pushed. "Jeez, how long has it been? Six, seven months?"
"Yeah, she just got home, but sadly she probably won't be staying around for a while." Ragna said, sighing, knowing Leslie will be leaving soon. She has been doing this for some time, especially after he moved out, she would be gone sometimes for weeks, a month, this has been the longest time she was gone. He knew it was some important christian work, but it made him sad that he wouldn't see her for some time.
"Hey, that just means we'll make the best of it, dummy." Artemis said, elbowing Ragna. This was one of the few occasions she will be patient, since Leslie was one of the few people Ragna had in his life. Ragna smiled at the rebellious teen, glad that she was giving him support.
"Thanks, Artemis."
"No prob….you tell Victor or anyone else I was acting like this and you'll be helping me in Archery...as target practice." Artemis growled, popping her knuckles, making Ragna sweatdrop and chuckle nervously. She cared about Ragna, in her own rough way, but she was still this school's scariest rebel.
"G-Got it." Ragna sputtered, chuckling nervously, when the sound of the door opening caught everyones attention.
"Good morning students~~~~!" A soft and melodious voice sang as their second period teacher walked into class.
"Hello Miss Cina." Many of the students voiced, sighing happily simultaneously as the teacher bent over to pick up some folders, while students like Artemis-and just her-sighed in annoyance. She was one of the few, if only, students that hated Cina. The teacher was a Triple S rank ditzy MILF, with bright smooth skin, fair raven hair that was short and curved, and finally what really caught every students attention, both girls and boys, were her massive DD milkers. Artemis noticed how everyone gawked at Cina, well, everyone but Ragna. He did carry a blush on his cheeks, but the kid was more focused on his school work, which showed Artemis there was some hope.
"I hope everyone had a wondrous weekend, I had a great one myself. Now, please sit down as class has started." Those who weren't sitting quickly sat down as Miss Cina explained the lesson, being their English teacher, while Ragna absent mindedly listened. His mind was preoccupied with other worries, like was Ghia'ta doing alright? Was Blackfire making a mess? Who was that freak? And most importantly: Was Diana doing well as a teacher.
(A Devil's Justice)
"Come on, Diana, you can do this. You are an Amazon: Born and raised to fight. You can handle the most dangerous creatures in the Underworld, you have saved the world, you can do this." Diana psyched herself up as she stared at the whiteboard as students slowly walked into class, surprised to see they had a new history teacher. She wore a black vest and white shirt that hugged her chest, a black skirt and high heels, and glasses to make her look more convincing. Taking one more inhale, she turned around to face her students.
"Good morning, students. My name is Diana Prince, and I shall be your newest history teacher." Diana introduced herself, taking a bow, only to receive nothing in exchange. Standing back up, she decided to do what came next, see what today's lesson was. It seemed similar to how Amazons did this when she was little, they would have the youngest sit down while her eldest would explain the combat. She just tried to see it that way, only much more calm and less about bad views on man's world.
"Alright, today's lesson for all of you are…." Diana walked over to her desk, sitting down and looking at the paperwork. However, to her shock and confusion the work were about some event called...the Cold War? What in Hera's sake was the Cold War? Was it about frozen food? She knew nothing about such war, oh dear what could she do. She heard someone yawn, making her inwardly groan for her lack of preparation.
"Hey...Uh, Miss Prince?" It seems the God's were her saving grace, Diana looked up to see a male student pointing at something in the corner of the room, her bag of weapons and shields. She was going to hang them up on the walls to showcase Greek history.
"Why do you have those weapons?"
"These are my belongings that I brought with me from my home, Greece." Diana explained, walking away from the desk and towards her gear. She held up the shield and blade, twirling the sword with ease, which seemed to gain the students attention.
"This blade and shield carry great history, they were used in many great wars during the Greek Era, such as the battle of Marathon, the Battle of Palatea, and even the Trojan War." Diana explained, that was until she heard some chairs squeak that she noticed many of her students seemed to be gaining some interest. That's when it popped in her head, forget the Cold War, this is where she was at home.
"But….that's not all they were for. Back at home, both present and past, we would face wildlife in the countryside of Greece. And not just any creatures…..but creatures of Tartarus, like the Manticore!" Diana swung her blade, opening a map above the whiteboard, revealing several creatures from Greek history such as the Manticore. She was saving this for a later point, but now was better than never.
"Uh, no offense, Miss Prince but manticore's don't exist." A female student said, making Diana turn to them.
"If they do not exist, then who came up with the name?" Diana rebutted, the student was about to retort, but stopped short. Many of the students looked at each other, none had the answer: Who made up the manticore? Diana smiled softly as she stepped back and pointed at the board with the mythological monsters.
"I know it is hard to believe in something that you have never seen, but correct me if I am wrong but is Superman not an alien? Did a giant snake beast attack the city not a few weeks ago? Believe me, child. These beasts are as real as the animals around us, and I am going to teach you everything I know about them and Greek History." Diana said, twirling the blade.
"I thought we were learning about the Cold War this semester?" Another student asked, making Diana deflate, and it seemed a few other students didn't agree with them.
"Well yes, I suppose we could study about that…..OR. I can teach you all how to subdue the dreaded Basilisk?!" Diana asked, raising her sword high, which seemed to get a cheer out of the students.
"This teacher thing isn't so bad."
(A Devil's Justice)
"Okay students, remember the essay is due at the end of the week." Cina said, waving her students goodbye as the school bell rang. Ragna had just finished writing his final sentence before packing up his belongings, making his way out the door.
"Oh, Mr. Redgrave." Ragna stopped in his tracks, turning to Miss Cina, noticing the stoic expression on her features.
"A moment of your time?" Unaware of the glares aimed directly at him, Ragna slowly nodded and walked back into the classroom standing across from the now sitting Cina. The clock ticked away as Ragna patiently waited for Cina to speak, the teacher pulling out a few papers.
"Mr. Redgrave, I like you, I think you have the greatest attitude among the student body. I wish more students would strive to keep your positivity." Ragna smiled awkwardly, scratching the back of his head.
"However." Cina continued, crossing her hands. "That does not excuse poor attendance. I know you make it up with late work, but sooner or later my dear boy that is not going to save you."
"I...I understand, Miss Cina." Ragna said, straightening himself, the older woman pouting.
"I'm trying to help you, Ragna, because I want you to succeed in life. You don't seem like the one to be doing drugs or anything illegal, so I must know why you are unorthodoxly late or absent?" Ragna rubbed his arm awkwardly, unsure how best he can explain this to her.
"I….I uh, I work late at night for money so I can keep a roof above me." Ragna explained, the last thing his teacher needed to know is that he spends late at night fighting crime or devils.
"Well what about your guardian? Miss Cardiney not supporting you?" Cina asked. He guessed she did not know the full story or relationship between the two, so he can't fault her for thinking that.
"My Aunt Leslie fully supports me, which is why I chose to live on my own, to….ease the burden." Ragna explained, making the older woman sigh.
"Well, Ragna, I want you to have a bright future ahead of you, so I beg of you to find a solution to this soon. Otherwise not only will it affect your schoolwork but also your health." Cina said, smiling at Ragna, her chest jiggle at the slightest moment, making Ragna stiffen. "Do you understand, Ragna?"
"...Crystal." Ragna muttered, making his way out of the class.
"So what did tits for brains want from you, Ragna? Being late again to class?" Artemis asked, leaning on the door waiting for the half-devil teen.
"Yeah, she wants me to focus more on my school work." Ragna answered, walking beside the rebel through the halls.
"I mean...shocking but I kind of agree with her, you have been late to class a lot lately, Ragna." Artemis said, leaning over to Ragna, poking his shoulder.
"I know, it's just I've been so busy with work after school, paying rent, and just trying to keep a roof over my head that school isn't my main priority." Ragna admitted.
"If my mom heard you say that she'd give you an earful." Artemis stated, making Ragna chuckle at the prospect of Miss Crock wacking him over the head with a wooden spoon for talking about that. He didn't know much about Artemis' mother's background, but according to Artemis she came from less than 'friendlier' places and is the reason why she is crippled. Ragna wasn't going to pry any further than that since it wasn't his place. But he also adores the older, crippled woman and did his best to help her any chance he got. He should really visit her with the others when he gets the chance.
"Hey, Ragna?" Said half-devil turned to face the rebel, noticing she was crossing her arms and looking away. "You wanna...I don't know, go get a quick snack?"
Ragna was surprised by the question, but he wasn't against it, since this was one of the few times he saw Artemis' softer side. She was a fighter, through and through, and she gave very little what many people outside her family circle thought of her. He knew her since middle school, and seeing her somewhat softer side was like finding a Unicorn….though in Ragna's case it was a few times. He gave the rebel his signature wide smile, chuckling as he patted her shoulder.
"Of cour-!"
"RAGNA!"
"WWWAAAAHHHH!" Ragna cried as something tackled him onto the ground, arms wrapping around his neck as someone rubbed their head against his, two very soft globes pressed against his chest. Normally he would be shocked by this, but his mind was trying not to be pulled into darkness as their godlike strength suffocated him. He opened one eyes to see Ghia'ta in her human form sitting in his lap, rubbing her head against his affectionately. Artemis gawked at the two below her, wondering who the hell this bitch was, and why did she know Ragna?
"W-Who the hell are you?!" Artemis growled, tightening her fist, her voice caught Ghia'tas' attention. To Artemis' shock, the girl smile grew wider as she hopped into the air and into Artemis' face.
"Oh wow! You must be Artemis, Ragna has told us so much about you! Oh, but where are my manners? I am Ghia'ta, I am a new transfer student, and Ragna is my first friend here, right Ragna?" Ghia'ta asked, holding her hand out while looking down at the half-devil teen, who was currently frothing at the mouth. Artemis had no idea what to say, but hesitantly took the girl's hand in his.
"Artemis. Artemis Crock." Artemis said, her mood lifting as Ghia'tas' smile was pretty innocent and sweet. However, she realized that Ghia'ta said something that she now just picked up on.
"Wait, we?"
"Friend Ragna!" Ragna, who had finally pulled himself back on his feet, felt them leave the ground as someone else picked him up and crushed him in a bone-breaking hug. Artemis' eyes widened at the sight of a red head girl hugging her friend, behind the girl was a similar looking girl with raven hair. "Oh I missed you this first period, but luckily you, I, and Ghia'ta share the next class together!"
"...W-Who?"
"Hey Artemis, I see you met Ragna's newest friends." Artemis looked up to see Victor walking up to her from behind the two twins.
"Oh, you must be Friend Ragna's friend Artemis. My name is St-I mean, Kory Anders, and this is my older sister Koye Anders." Kory stated, walking up and shaking Artemis' hand, making the girl wince a bit at how strong she was. Once Kory departed, Artemis turned to Koye, who simply crossed her arms and looked away with an annoyed scowl on her face.
"...Hi." Is all she said before turning her back to the group.
"They are quite the…..strange siblings." Victor muttered as Ragna groaned beneath them, as the athlete remembered how he met the girls just last period.
(A Devil's Justice)
"Hey! You are Victor, yes?!" Victor, who was checking if he had all of his problems on his homework done right, looked up to see a girl with raven hair and biker clothing slam a hand in front of him, cracking the wood.
"Uh….Yeah, I'm Victor." Victor cocked an eyebrow in confusion at the smaller girl, when another one appeared on the opposite side of him. This one had to be the older ones sister but a complete opposite, red hair and tanner skin, with a dress that hugged her well built body.
"Oh good, we are Friends of Friend Ragna, who we wish to have help from, but he suggested we get help from you since he takes a different class. I am Kory Anders, and that is my sister Koye." Kory said, smiling at the athlete teen.
"...I'm sorry, wh-!"
"And until we run into that idiot, Ragna, you will help us with our work since it is our first day here! No complaints!" With that, both sisters sat on opposite sides of Victor as the teacher walked in, leaving the taller teen to wonder.
"...What the fu-?!"
(A Devil's Justice)
"...They're pretty nice though." Victor said, shrugging his shoulders as the three newest students conversed.
"Hi guys!" Both turned to see Kyrie walking up to them, perking up to see the three girls. "Oh I see you met three of the four new transfer students that entered Redgrave Academy."
"Four?" Artemis asked, hearing Ragna groan as he slowly pulled himself back up.
"Hello Ragna."
"AAAAAHHHHHHH!" Ragna's spirit left his body as his feet left the ground for a second, landing face first on the ground. All three turned to see a new girl with raven hair and asian descent stand behind Ragna, making Kyrie awkwardly giggle as the new girl walked up to the three.
"Greetings, Victor and Artemis. My name is Aya, I currently live in the apartment complex with the three other girls behind me. Ragna is the one who recommended we enroll in Redgrave Academy, as is the one to help us move into our new rooms in the complex…..It is also, as the feeling goes, nice to meet you." Aya stated, holding her hand up, confusing the two, wondering why she sounded so robotic.
"I met her during the first period." Kyrie started to explain to the two how she met the new girl, a very brief but interesting exchange.
(A Devil's Justice)
"Greetings."
"KYA!" Kyrie cried, jumping out of her seat, turning to see a girl staring at her with emotionless eyes.
"U-Uh, hello?"
"I am Aya, you are Kyrie, correct?" Aya asked, helping Kyrie back on her feet.
"Y-Yeah. How did you know that?"
"I am friends with Ragna Redgrave, who is friends with you, he said you would be a great help in my first class at Redgrave Academy." Aya stated, sitting in the seat next to Kyrie.
"I hope we become great friends and learn great lessons together." Aya stated.
"...I…...Um….Okay."
(A Devil's Justice)
"These girls seem to have one thing in common." Artemis stated, eyes glaring down at the fourth friend in their circle.
"Ragna." Said Half-devil teen, who was slowly recovering from the hugs, looked up to find his three best friends staring down at him. Ragna pulled himself back up and noticed he was standing between his friends and the girls, smiling nervously knowing this was gonna be hard to explain.
"Uh, Victor, Kyrie, Artemis. This Ghia'ta, Kory, Koye, and Aya. They are new students that I helped make a home at the apartment complex. Girls, these are my friends." Ragna explained. Ghia'ta and Kory were very happy to meet Ragna's new friends, smiling and waving at Kyrie and Victor, who returned to the wave with gusto. Only Artemis had a scowl on her face, wondering how in the hell did Ragna make friends with FOUR fucking girls? Before she could even question how this was possible, the next period bell rang, making the group realize they were late.
"We will discuss this during lunch." Artemis stated, walking past the group and making her way to the next class.
"See ya at lunch, Ragna." Victor said, patting his friend's shoulder and making his way towards his own class.
"We will see you later, Ragna. Kyrie and I have the same class." Aya stated, dragging the timid girl before she could even protest. Aya's first day at school wasn't so bad, the principal of the academy took a liking to Aya, and while Aya had no opinion on the lady. She did not understand why the principal voiced Ragna in a bad light, and Aya will admit she did indeed stomp the ground cracking her desk. She did not know why.
"Uh...Uh….Bye Ragna!" Kyrie cried as she was dragged away.
"...Today is going to be a long day." Ragna muttered, only to stiffen as soft globes pressed against his right arm, looking over to see Ghia'ta smiling up at him.
"Well let's spend it in class together, come on girls." Ghia'ta cheered, dragging Ragna along as Kory cheered and joined her, Koye sighing in annoyance before following the girls. Ghia'ta loved going to school, the girls loved her dress and the boys really liked to compliment her. But what really made her day was seeing Ragna and making sure to spend every second with him, seeing him smile made her chest tighten and light a flame ablaze. Meanwhile, Artemis was surprised that Ragna was quickly making new friends, though she was also happy in some way…..if they just weren't a bunch of girls. She knew how girls were around Ragna, mainly ones their age, aside from Kyrie, Ragna was simply the butt of the joke. That is when Artemis isn't around, when she was, everyone stayed clear. She didn't know what to think of the girls, but she knew she won't let them hurt Ragna.
"Well it can't get any worse." Artemis thought, opening the doors to her history class, wondering who the newest history teacher was. Artemis stopped in her tracks, eyes widened in shock at the sight before her.
"You….Have...Got...to be fucking kidding me." Artemis growled, catching Diana's attention, the Amazon turning to see the young rebel girl.
"Oh. Hello Artemis. Welcome to History."
"...Fuck my life."
(A Devil's Justice)
Within Wayne Manor, Alfred Pennyworth had just finished dusting Master Wayne's office, and was now making his way to make Bruce's bed. Mr. Wayne was currently on a business trip in Central City, while Young Master Drake was in school. Alfred was all alone at the house, only his thoughts for company. Many, especially these young hooligans nowadays, would consider Alfred a slave. But Alfred enjoyed his line of work, he had a great pay, he lived in the comfiest bed in Gotham second to Master Wayne, and speaking of Wayne he had the good fortune of raising that boy.
While he was his parents' butler, Alfred made it his mission to help raise and support the boy. Even at his lowest, but from that darkness something different arose, the day Batman was born. Alfred always did find it weird to wear a costume such as that, but he couldn't argue it's effectiveness. It was just a shame that Master Wayne always took that role more seriously than he did as Bruce Wayne. Especially with his paranoia, even if he did have every right with fearing the likes of Superman. He was sure the poor boy was beyond his control during that incident, but that didn't make it any less terrifying. But now he feared Bruce's paranoia was taking a new turn and keeping his eye on everyone on that newly formed Justice League.
Especially the youngest member, Ragna.
Now Alfred didn't have a strong opinion on the boy, what with only meeting him a short time, but the boy reminded him of a young Bruce before the accident. It also seemed the boy had a good head on his shoulders, holding such strong heroic virtues while facing such monstrous odds. The boy was a fan of Bruce, though that had little of a reaction out of the vigilante when Alfred made a comment about it. He wondered if Ragna was the one that could help fill that empty hole in Master Wayne's heart, ah he was overthinking things again. He just hope the boy was alright overlooking his city by himself.
Alfred made note of a ding on his watch, which oddly confused him since that would mean someone was in the Batcave. He knew Master Wayne was already on the plane, and school hadn't ended for Young Master Drake, so that left very few people. Walking over to the clock, he activated the switch that moved the clock aside, allowing him access into the stairs. Alfred loathed being down here sometimes, not because of Master Wayne but…..did he have to have all of these damn bats? They made a mess everywhere. Alfred made his way down the steps into the main hub of the Batcave, making note that the batmobile was still in the cave, but a batcycle that wasn't there this morning was parked next to the car. Making his way down, Alfred was shocked to see none other than Miss Gordon, hood and cape off while she studied something on the table. A surprise for sure, but a welcome one as Alfred made his way over to the table.
"Good morning, Miss Gordon."
"Morning, Alfred." Barbara Gordon, aka Batgirl and daughter of GCPD Commissioner Gordon, stated half-heartedly, eyes glued on the object on the table, before rolling the chair over to a nearby monitor. Alfred cocked an eyebrow in confusion, wondering what made Miss Gordon so focused she didn't respond the usual way, and his answer came to the object on the table being scanned by the monitors: A silver cross with a blade at one end.
"I didn't take you for a religious type, Miss Gordon." Alfred jest, but got no quip from Barbara, he feared he might have another Bruce and that made him worry.
"I was taking out some Black Mask goons when one got away, I caught him and when I came back I found the rest of them dead, strung up and stabbed into the wall like a cross. The words etched in blood on the wall were 'Kyrie Eleison' which mean-!"
"Lord have mercy. Greek, or Roman if I'm not correct." Alfred added, Barbara turning to face him.
"Both really, but the figure that killed them was clad in all black, and all they used were these silver crosses." Barbara stated, looking back at the monitor.
"A religious zealot, perhaps?" Alfred asked.
"He wasn't alone, so more like a group. Maybe a cult or something." Barbara guessed, perking up when the monitor dinged with results, only to deflate at the results.
"Nothing, it's just a regular cross…..well one with a blade inside." Barbara groaned, rubbing her head.
"It seems the blade is coated in water and salt." Alfred stated, gesturing to the second statistics. "I believe Churches used that for holy water, especially for blessings."
"This is all fine and dandy, but this doesn't help me find these psychos at all. I've tried hacking into all cameras across Gotham, but I couldn't find a trace of them all night. It was as if they just...vanished." Barbara rubbed her head groaning, there was a group of zealous murderers and she couldn't do anything to stop it. She could contact Bruce by the time he got home who knows how many people they killed. A hand pressed against her shoulder, the young vigilante looking up to see a small comforting smile on Alfred's face.
"I know you can figure this out, Miss Gordon, you're one of the smartest people I know." Alfred stated, making Barbara smile at his confidence booster.
"Thanks Alfred. I know I have to find them, I just need something, a lead, a clue." Barbara stated, when she nearly shot up feeling a vibration in her pocket. Reaching in and pulling out her phone, she saw a notification of the GCNN, Gotham City's News Network, which she only has on if there was something big going on. Quickly rolling over to the monitor, Alfred casually following behind, the young vigilante typed away looking for something on the news. When she clicked on the link, her eyes widened in horror at the headliner, Alfred blinked in disbelief, doing his best to keep his cool.
'REDGRAVE CITY BLOODBATH: DOZENS DEAD, SEVERAL CROSSED ON THE WALL'
"I….I believe you have found your first clue, Miss Gordon."
(A Devil's Justice)
"I'm sorry about this, Lois, but this earthquake has caused a lot of damage and they need my help." Clark said over the phone, Lois smiled sweetly at her husband's concern.
"It's fine, Smallville, I think their lives are a little more important than the next scoop. Besides, if I ever need help, Kara is a phone number away." Lois said, sitting down on the couch.
"I know…..Hey, are you okay? You sound a little on edge." Clark said, making Lois stiffen in her spot.
"What? Did my heart skip a beat or something?" Lois quipped, trying to play it off.
"I don't need superhearing to know my wife sounds troubled, did something happen last night? You never did tell me if you got anything on this big scoop of yours." Clark said, Lois eyes widened, last night events flashing in her mind. She quickly shook her head and kept her cool, leaning back onto the couch.
"Naw, just some punk kid playing a prank on me. Makes me worry that Jon ends up like those type of hooligans. One of my nightmares for that boy is him being an activist and not doing anything to help….or even worse, if he has powers and still doesn't do anything about it when he can." Lois stated, slightly shivering at the idea.
"Let's hope it never comes to that. Alright, I gotta go, love you Lois."
"Love ya too, Smallville." Lois said, hanging up and putting the phone down, groaning as she flopped onto the couch. She hoped he didn't pick up on anything, she hated the idea of lying to Clark about this, but whoever those freaks were knew who he was. The last thing she wanted was his life getting ruined because the whole world could find out he is Superman, or worse that Jon was his son. Oh Jesus, did they know Jon was their kid, no doubt they knew. Maybe she was exaggerating, who knows, maybe she should relax just for a bit and watch some tv. Turning the television on, she clicked through the channels, until she landed on the MNN, Metropolis News Network. Her eyes widened in shock, gasping in horror at the news headline.
"Oh...my….God."
(A Devil's Justice)
"So this is why you haven't been at school the last couple of times, Ragna?" Artemis asked, glowering at the four girls sitting across from her with Victor on her left and Ragna in front of her.
"Yeah. I'm really sorry I haven't been talking to you guys about it." Ragna said, rubbing the back of his head, making Artemis sigh in annoyance, making Victor step in so the rebel didn't start anything.
"It's cool man, it's your life and it's not like you were keeping it a secret from us." Victor said, patting his best friends shoulder, making the smaller teen smile again.
"What wonderful friends you have, Ragna." Ghia'ta beamed, practically glued to Ragna's arm, making the boy madly blush and stutter.
"But I do have to agree with Artemis and the wonderful Miss Cina-!"
"Victor." Artemis growled.
"That you can't be skipping school man, it's important for us to get this education so we can get a good future. And I love ya man, but you do have the tendency to be late, whether it being working or helping Mr. Holland at STAR Labs." Victor explained, making Ragna realize he hasn't seen Holland since he faced that Imperium Invasion, jeez that felt like years ago.
"Even when you were here, you acted weird a while ago." Artemis said, making Ragna dread at what they meant, and who they actually meant.
"...How weird?"
"Well, you acted like you didn't recognize us for some time." Victor said.
"You kept staring at your food like it was an alien to you." Artemis added.
"Kyrie said you just stared at your desk and did nothing else, only to answer before staring again. She even said you didn't blink….once." Victor finished, listing them off with his fingers.
"...J'onn, I'm gonna give you a good old earth tour at some point." Ragna thought and marked down in his head.
"Oh you must understand, Ragna probably had a lot of stuff on his mind, since he was even helping me try to settle in." Ghia'ta explained, Ragna mouthing a thank you, she truly was his saving grace.
"As he did us." Kory added, smiling at the two friends.
"Plus now with his Aunt back, I'm sure now he can keep ahead of his grades and focus on his work." Ghia'ta said, making Victor's head shoot up in shock.
Wait! Miss Cardiney is back?! And you didn't even tell me?!" Victor asked, flabbergasted, making Ragna chuckle nervously.
"You know his Aunt?" Koye asked, stabbing her food with a fork.
"Everyone knows who Miss Cardiney is, her Church funds the school and it's activities. Every student here knows she is Ragna's Aunt, but no student knows it is by adoption besides me and the girls. Leslie is one of the sweetest ladies you can meet." Victor explained.
"Until you piss her off." Artemis added.
"Yeah, until that happens." Victor added.
"I like this Aunt Leslie more and more." Koye muttered, smirking at the idea that this old lady striking fear into the heart of others.
"Say….how did you girls meet Ragna?" Artemis asked, making Ragna pale at the question, hoping none of them would slip over their own words. They made excuses the other night before the Skartaris incident on how they all met.
"I met Ragna when I was exiting the airport, it was around the time his Aunt exited and we all joined the same taxi. I needed a place to stay and Ragna offered the apartment complex, my own room, to stay at." Ghia'ta explained, surprising Ragna on her excuse. Because he certainly didn't remember adding the Aunt part, but it seemed to work because the two accepted the answer.
"Oh, my dear sister and I wanted to come to this city for new opportunities. We ran into Ragna in the downtown area, but was happily welcomed a new place to stay. Oh I was so happy my sister and I gave him a big kiss!" Kory cheered, making Ragna, Artemis, and Victor spit out their drinks simultaneously.
"WHAT?!" Artemis roared.
"THE?!" Victor yelled.
"FUCK?!" Artemis roared.
"KORY?!" Ragna screeched, only to pale as he heard low growling in front of, looking up to see a deep hated glare directed at him by Redgrave Academy's resident rebel, her fist held up. Before anything could take the turn for the worse, Ghia'ta noticed a large TV nearby, several students gathered around it.
"Um, Ragna? Is something wrong there?" Ragna, who was busy trying to pry Artemis off his shirt now that his powers were gone and Victor was holding her other arm rather easily, turned to see what Ghia'ta was pointing at. The group noticed a big group of students gathering in front of the TV, the group wondering what was going on. Ragna and the group slowly walked over and tried to get as close as they could. They were just close enough to hear and see the headliners, and what they saw shocked everyone to the core, especially Ragna.
"We're live in what Redgrave City dubs this alleyway as 'Rat City' where the reports of a murder has taken place. What I am about to show you is bloody and graphic, please change the channel if you have an upset stomach." The news reporter stated, before the camera flickered and revealed several images. Ragna's eyes widened in horror, as everyone around him gasped and some even gagged at the sight.
Blood
Blood painted the entire alley, few bodies were lucky to still be connected as they littered the ground. He could hear murmurs and whimpers from the students around him, when the next image appeared, he felt his heart stop at the mere sight of it: Several of the homeless strung up and stabbed into the walls, and the same words written over and over again on the walls made him swallow his own spit.
"Kyrie Eleison….Lord have mercy." He muttered, knowing full well what that word meant.
"What we stand in now is the aftermath in what can be considered the bloodiest crime scene since the massacre of 2001. Dozens killed, and the only survivor is a lone hermit who wishes to keep his name anonymous." The reporter stated, walking towards a sickly old man, who Ragna quickly recognized as Cogliostro.
"Sir, you are the lone survivor of a horrible murder, can you explain what happened?" The reporter asked, Cogliostro gulping down his bottle.
"I only got one thing to say: Hope you're happy with your choices, kid." Cogliostro grunted, staring at the camera. Ragna instantly knew he was staring, speaking right towards him. The world became silent around him, slowly backing away as the rest watched the news.
"By the Moons of Zamaron, that is just horrible, what should we do...Ragna?" Ghia'ta whispered, looking around only to find Ragna gone. The half-devil teen walked out of the cafeteria and far away from the others as fast as possible. He left his backpack and made his way out to the front doors, walking out of the school. His eyes were wide and hyperventilating, did….did he cause that? Is that figure who attacked him part of some group who caused the attack? Oh god did he somehow take his powers away so he could do that? Ragna had no powers, he originally could hop away and find out what happened….but now. Now he could only do one thing: Run. He ran away from the school, he ran past other civilians and down Redgrave, he needed some air, he needed some good advice. He needed his aunt's help.
(A Devil's Justice)
"Redgrave…." Barbara muttered, watching the end of the report. She was appalled by the bloody alley and no doubt the shadowy figures that attacked and killed those thugs were the cause of this.
"Redgrave City is my first clue." Barbara said, standing up from her seat and walking over to the table, taking her hood and the cross and heading to the batcycle. "If Bruce or anyone else call, tell them I have this handled."
"If I may suggest, Miss Gordon, an extra hand would be quite useful in this situation." Alfred suggested, standing at the top of the stairs stopping Barbara from hopping on the batcycle.
"Bruce is in Central City, Tim is at school, and God knows where Dick is, so who do you suggest I get help from, Alfred? Harley Quinn?" Barbara asked, turning to face the older man.
"You're going to Redgrave to face a strange cult of religious zealots, I know only one person just in the area who must have the speciality in dealing with that sort of problem."
"...You mean Sparda?" Barbara asked with a scowl, crossing her arms. "Please, Alfred, I can handle myself, I don't need that guys help."
"I take it you're not a fan of him, Miss Gordon." Alfred stated, as it was more of a fact than a question.
"I mean…..Are you? The guy is a complete knockoff of Bruce, he even wears a dark costume and wears a mask!" Barbara stated. Alfred looked up and down Barbara before cocking an eyebrow, Barbara looked down at herself and frowned at what Alfred was insinuating.
"This is a homage, and I earned this. I mean...what do you think of the guy, Alfred?" Barbara asked, crossing her arms wondering what the butler thought of Redgrave's Batman knockoff. Alfred hummed to himself, rubbing his chin in thought.
"What do I think? Well let's see what others think: You think he is a knockoff of Master Wayne. Young Master Grayson thinks Young Master Redgrave is a fool and should not be taken seriously. Young Master Drake adores the hero and even made a fan club in Gotham. And finally Master Wayne thinks the boy is the second most dangerous threat under Superman himself and is currently trying to create a contingency for the boy. But what do I think?" Alfred asked, finally reaching the bottom of the steps.
"I believe the boy is doing what he can, in a world that is against him, sounds familiar, yes?" Alfred asked, making Barbara pout, feeling a little guilty. "I think the boy has a lot of weight on his shoulders, what with school and this super hero business. I think if you actually give the boy a chance, you will see he isn't some Batman knockoff, but a real genuine hero who no doubt thinks the world of not just Batman, but of the entire caped community." Batgirl stiffened at every word, she could see what Alfred was coming from, but could she really trust this guy? She'll never really know unless she gets his help, but how?
"I believe if you wish to make contact with the boy, this might be handy." Alfred said, handing Barbara a small device, the young vigilante realizing it was Bruce's League Communicator.
"He left this behind?"
"He always does. I think you'll put this to better use in the meantime. Have a safe trip, Miss Gordon." Alfred bowed before making his way back up stairs. Barbara stared down at the communicator, opening it up and looking through the contacts, it was quite a small list so it was not hard to find. She clicked on the ID number, wondering if she has made the right choice.
(A Devil's Justice)
"Redgrave City." Lois muttered watching the news feed end, disgusted by the bloodbath left in that alleyway. Seeing the blood writing 'Kyrie Eleison' the reporter quickly looked up the words, Lord have mercy. She wondered….was this connected to those shadowy figures from last night. It couldn't just be coincidental, those mysterious beings were both in Metropolis and in Redgrave….or….Redgrave City was their base of operations! She….she needed to know the truth. She knew they could be watching, but she had to find this out, so the whole world can know and discover the truth. But how could she do that? That's when it clicked.
"Ragna." She knew Ragna was a vigilante in Redgrave City, he could help her find these murderers and discover what their intentions are, as well as arrest them for the murders they committed. But she still had the problem of contacting him, since Clark keeps a League Communicator on him, and someone had to take care of Jon. Luckily she had an answer for problem two…..and she might have one too for problem one. Reaching into her phone, she was dead set on this mission now, waiting for the other end to answer.
"Hello?"
"Kara, sweetie, hi. Listen, I have two questions for you. One: Can you come over and take care of Jon for some time. Two: Do you have Ragna's phone number?"
(A Devil's Justice)
RING
RING
"Hmm?" Ragna hummed, looking down at his pocket, hearing the vibration within. He was miles away from the Academy, wishing to get some fresh air in the park and luckily no one was in sight. He couldn't get the sight of their bodies littering the alleyway, he wasn't afraid of blood, but it did make his heart drop at the sight of an innocent life taken. And it must have had something to do with that shadowy figure who somehow took his powers away. They used his depowered state to kill those people, but why? What did the hermits of Rat City do to deserve this? That's when he started to put the pieces together: The Curse must be working for these freaks, and when he kicked his butt that finally took action. It seemed ludicrous but it's all he had. Well that and this ringing in his pocket. Reaching inside, he was shocked to see it was his League Communicator, and saw that the ID number was Batman himself?!
"Hello?" Ragna asked, answering the communicator.
"Sparda." Ragna's eyes widened hearing a feminine voice, one he did not recognize.
"Who are you?" Ragna asked.
"I'm Batgirl, one of Batman's protégés." Ragna's eyes widened in shock, he was speaking to Batgirl! THE Batgirl, oh man this was crazy.
"O-Oh, uh Hi my name is Ragna Redgrave, but you can call me Sparda." Ragna said, leaning back on the bench.
"...Did you just reveal your secret identity to me?" Batgirl asked on the other end.
"...Yeah? Is that not something we heroes do?" Ragna asked, scratching his nose.
"N…...Actually, I'm not really sure." Batgirl admitted, before huffing.
"Listen, we're getting off track and need to focus. The reason I am calling you with the communicator is because of what is happening on the news." Ragna's eyes shut close, sighing.
"You saw it too, huh?"
"Yeah, and I think I have an idea who is behind it." Ragna leaned forward resting one arm on his knee.
"I...I think I do too, or just a general idea of who is behind it." Ragna admitted.
"Great, I am heading down to Redgrave City as we speak, I think we should meet up and discuss this further. Where are you right now?" Batgirl asked, shocking Ragna. She wanted to meet with him, here?! Now?!
"Uh, I'm in Redgrave Central Park, sitting on a bench by a pond." Ragna described, staring at his own reflection in the water.
"Great, I'll meet you there in two hours."
"Wait!" Ragna interjected, stopping Batgirl before she hung up. "How will I know you're here?"
"You'll know."
"Well we can't meet in our costumes, I left mine at home. I think it's safer if we meet as civilians, we'll lose any attention on us." Ragna said, waiting for Batgirl's response. What seemed like a long time, the young vigilante finally let out a huff.
"Alright, that will attract less attention."
"Great! I'll see you soon….Uh….I guess it would be fair if I knew the name of my soon to be ally." Ragna said, chuckling nervously.
"...Barbara. Barbara Gordon." With that, Batgirl hung up, leaving Ragna to his own thoughts.
"Barbara Gordon…...why does that sound familiar?" Ragna thought, but before he could ponder any longer, another vibration rang in his other pocket, where his phone was. Reaching in he saw an unknown contact, not seeing anything wrong he answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Ragna!"
"Mrs. Kent?" Ragna questioned, shocked to hear Lois Kent herself call him. What did she want? Maybe she wanted a babysitter or something.
"I'm sure you already saw the news?" Lois asked on the other end.
"Yeah." Ragna answered.
"Well I think I know exactly who is responsible, and I believe their base of operations is in Redgrave City, but they are making their move here in Metropolis." Lois explained, shocking Ragna.
"What?! When?! How?!"
"I don't know, but I have some information that can be valuable for you, where are you right now?!" Lois asked, Ragna could hear a tire screech on her end. Sounded like she was driving fast.
"Uh, Redgrave Central Park, by a pond." Ragna answered, wondering why she wanted to know.
"Great! I'm on the road now and will be there in two hours!"
"W-Wait what?! Two hours?! But Mrs. Ke-Hello? Hello?!" Ragna heard the beeping on the other end, realizing Lois had just hung up. He now had two, the famous reporter Lois Kent, and the young vigilante of Gotham Batgirl, heading towards his location at the same time. A storm was coming, Ragna could feel it, and he, Lois, and Batgirl were right in the middle of it.
(A Devil's Justice)
"I offer Thee the actions of this day; grant that all of them may be according to Thy holy Will, and for Thy greater glory." A man prayed as he planted his head to the ground, kneeling before the wall above a giant cross. The room was illuminated by several candles, crosses and chalices were placed on the table. His right metal hand scraped against the stone floor as he looked back up at the cross, at the individual stabbed against it. From the cross a thin trail of white liquid trailed down the metal and onto a metal bowl, echoing within the room.
"Save me from sin and from all evil." The man finished as he pulled himself back up and rested on his knees. The doors behind him slowly opened up, a figure in black walked in, stopping a few feet behind the man before kneeling.
"Speak."
"We have located the boy and are keeping an eye on him, shall I begin the attack, your Excellency?" The figure asked as the man in front of him stood up. The only sound now echoing in the room was a low raspy gasp, the sounds of chains rattling afterwards.
"No." The man said, turning to face his kneeling follower. "Gather the men, we will attack tonight." The shadowy figure bowed and made his way out of the room, leaving the man with his thoughts.
"Once the boy is out of the way, we shall begin the Crusade. Let Thy grace be always with me." The man finished, drinking the contents within the bowl, once he was done he set the bowl aside and slipped his hood back on. He grabbed the silver blade and sheathed on his back, paying no heed to the crying above him as he made his way out of the room, slamming it shut. The halls echoed with a whimper, but all who heard it ignored them, continuing with their mission, the man slipping the hood over his head.
"Amen."
Living in a world that reminds me, I'm worthless every day! No matter if, I reach for it it's still so far away!
Whoah-oh!
Ragna stared up at the starry sky, imagining his mother and father up there, before taking his coat and his gear on before jumping down, running across the buildings.
Woke up in a dream! I couldn't touch! The closer that I walked! The farther that it got!
Somewhere deep within there is a voice! The city starts to wake!
The sun, it fills the void! Even though I can't stand straight I will find my way I will find the meaning lost in the dark!
Ragna looked down at his right hand, before someone wrapped their arm around his neck, pulling him into a side hug. He smiled looking up seeing Victor while Artemis playfully punched him and Kyrie smiled at him. The four posed as someone took a picture.
Living in a world that reminds me, I'm worthless every day! No matter if, I reach for it it's still so far away!
Tell me what to throw away - just so I can touch it with my hands! I have tried so many times to scream it out aloud!
When it's done, I am just myself, I'll wear it proud Whether it is fiction or real life All I have ever done is try Some day I will go - go beyond!
Ragna pulled his hood off, staring up into the stars, a single tear slid down his cheek, before someone wrapped him in a hug. He felt a pair of lips on his cheeks, blushing as Ghia'ta giggled at the action before a hand was placed on his shoulder, looking up to see Diana. Aya flew down with Starfire and Blackfire, the robot smling at Ragna while Starfire wrapped an arm around Ragna's other arm while her older sister scolded them.
Jennifer lowered herself down as another magician joined her, only for both of them to glare as a woman with purple hair wrapped their arms around Ragna's torse, the half-devil teen stiffening as the woman giggled. Batgirl and Supergirl flew in as a pale girl landed beside Diana, all the girls posed with Ragna, a flash of light as the picture was taken.
(A Devil's Justice)
And we are done! Thirteen thousand words is a perfect ending. What did you guys think of the song? When I have the chance I'll copy and aste that on the last chapters. I've also been adding dates so you guys don't get lost. TBH tho, I was gonna have a few more scenes, mainly Ragna meeting the girls and then meet with Leslie. But I realized had I done that the next chapter felt shorter so I'm gonna save those parts for the beginning of the next chapter. So the Court of Sin Arc begins!
Achievement Unlocked: Kyrie Eleison (Begin the Crusade)
My understanding of everything religious isn't perfect. I have a very good understanding of a lot, but not everything. I've been researching since I began writing, and I apologize for any Christian, Catholic or otherwise, if I offend you. This arc is meant for fun, and is in no way some 'deconstruction' on Religion. Since DC literally has every Religion be real I see no point in doing so and never wanted to.
So let's get a few things over this arc. It is my first Character arc, which doesn't mean Character development but in the sense it is Ragna's solo comic where a Story Arc is like the Justice League. There are only gonna be four chapters because one: There is no reason to make more or less, everything is planned out. Two: Red Dawn and the final arc in volume 3 are the only exceptions in the first three volumes of being long. The A-Plot is focused on Ragna, Batgirl, and Lois fighting this organization, while the B-Plot is Ghia'ta and the girls growing closer with Aunt Leslie. The Organization in concept was based on the Court of Owls, mainly being a secret group behind the shadows, but their is so much more to them when you reach the end of this story. This arc also introduces Ragna's greatest weakness, his kryptonite so to speak.
So now the girls are finally in school, and will make great friendships with Ragna's friend circle, and Diana is gonna be that one flamboyant teacher which is gonna be fun. Yeah tell the teacher with the sword she is doing a wonderful job.
So...this story begins canonically on January 3rd...it has been barely a month and Ragna has done all that. My boy gonna need BIG SLEEP by the end of this first act. Speaking of which, by the end of this chapter, there are only...ten more chapters until act 1 is done.
Here is a few fun facts on Ragna and the story:
Ragna was born the Chinese Year of the Snake, and his Zodiac is Leo.
He HATES bugs, and Spiders.
Aunt Leslie is a Catholic, but an ambidextrous one. What does that? Well find out next chapter.
Alright, I think that is all for now, let's get into some hot takes.
I BEAT KNIGHT ARTORIAS! LETS FFFFUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKIIIIINNNNNNNGGGG GGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOO! All I have left are Kalameet, and Manus of the dlc. Afterwords all I have are Sif, Centipede demon, Four Kings, Seath, Bed of chaos, and FUCKING GWYN! I CAN DO IT! I CAN BEAT DARK SOULS!
So...imagine my shock that riots would break out over the trial...almost like anarchist are just looking for an excuse.
I'm probably gonna make two new character for Sekiro and delete my last one. One for the Shura ending, and one for the real ending.
I have literally read only the Thor comics in recent years, and that's it. Once the whole Thanos thing with Thor ends, I think I'm gonna be done with Marvel Comics. DC isn't perfect by any means, but the whole Infinite Frontier is at LEASt doing something. I'll take that.
So Eternals...haven't seen it yet...Kingo was race swapped by a race that wasn't even a white cis male lol. Why is Makkari deaf? She is literally a Cosmic being, unless she has some space problems, it makes no fucking sense. I barely recognize any of them, besides Thena, Sersei, and Sprite. If you told me that man was Gilgamesh, I wouldn't fucking believe you. I'm sorry Jack Kirby, you're flare has been lost to these people.
That new MHA movie tho...gonna watch that when I get the chance.
Got a new laptop, last one was literally falling apart.
Yeah that's pretty much it. I hope everyone enjoyed.
Please review, pm for ideas, etc. Zer0the0mega108 out!
