Kuro tried to get his sister to play with him and the twins but she wouldn't budge. She just sat beside Sesshomaru quietly playing with the wooden doll that Kin'u had given her.
"No fun." Kuro whined taking off to run through the fields. Setsuna toddled to her taking the doll from her hands which Sumiko allowed her to do.
"What ails you pup?" Sesshomaru asked glancing down at her.
"Nothing." She replied sadly.
"It is because of what the humans said to you." He stated. "Pay them no mind. Their opinions are small and do not matter."
"Do I got witches eyes?" She asked looking up at Sesshomaru.
"No. You have your grand sires eyes, a demons." Taking in her confused look he thought how better to explain. "Your fathers, father."
"Jijisan."
"You are very much like him in appearance and ability." Sesshomaru said.
"Shomeru, you a demon?" She said slowly. "And mama's human, was Rin?"
"Rin is also a human."
"Mama say Pa's a…halve…halve…"
"Your father is a half-breed. Towa and Setsuna are the same, I am a demon and their mother is a human."
"Shomeru, is Miko one too?" She questioned referring to herself.
"No. You are more human than demon yet you possess the appearance and powers of one." He said. "It doesn't matter. One day you will find your way in the world Sumiko, of that I have no doubt."
Looking up at the sky she sighed just trying to figure out all of this new information out.
