Loki looked around. He was in a cell, with stone walls and floors, and no sunlight. Metal ropes and armor, and a metal muzzle around his mouth, bound him. He had tried explaining, but no one would believe him. From the time he had attempted to kill himself and now, everyone had turned into idiots. Said idiots forgot to bind his magic. Loki could easily escape, but stayed in hope of people realizing he was innocent, controlled like the Midgardian Archer. Meanwhile, he gathered his thoughts, going over them, to check Thanos had blurred nothing from his mind. He remembered letting go. He remembered dying. He remembered the afterlife, a safe place. Being able to finally see Hela and Fenris. Meeting his sister, Hel. He remembered Thanos. A big purple titan. Being ripped away from his family. Being brought back to life. Being bribed and tortured by him, and when it became clear to the titan Loki wouldn't give in, mind control. In the time the purple titan controlled him, Loki had sorted out his thoughts, actions, and where he went wrong. Now he was determined to do better in life. Heavy footsteps started echoing outside the cell- Thor's footsteps. The cell opened, and light flooded in. Loki raised his hands over his face before his brother pulled him off the ground and out the door. The two walked in silence before Thor broke it. "Why, Brother?" Loki turned his head towards the blonde. Thor didn't even turn his head. "Why did you attack Midgard?" Silence. "ANSWER ME DAMMIT!" Thor roared, finally turning his head towards Loki. "... Oh. Sorry." Thor offered sheepishly, finally realizing Loki wasn't not talking because he hated Thor, (Hopefully) but because he was unable to.
Thor reached a hand behind Loki's head to take off the muzzle, but as he did so, Loki, unable to stop himself, flinched. Thanos's torture was still on his mind, and every touch had inflicted pain on him. So when Loki flinched, Thor was surprised. Had his brother gone through trauma? Maybe it was the fall from the Bifrost… "Brother? Are you okay?" Thor succeeded in taking off the muzzle, waiting for Loki's answer. A muttered "Picked up some new words on Midgard, Did you?" and a curt nod was all he received. "So why did you attack Midgard?" Loki stiffened. "I did no such thing."
"You did! I saw y- what? You didn't do it?" Thor suddenly stopped, and turned his whole body to face Loki. "I believe that is what I just said." Loki retorted dryly. His brothers' stupidity never failed to amaze him of how stupid one could get. "Were you not of control when attacking?" Thor demanded, eyes brightening at the thought of Loki not being responsible for the attack. "I was not." Loki confirmed, unknowingly making Thor's day. "I'll make sure Father knows your innocence, I promise" The blond promised, as they arrived at the door of the throne room. Loki nodded, knowing deep down that he probably wouldn't be able to convince the AllFather. Then they entered.
Behind his brother, Thor stood. Ready to stand up for his brother in all but blood.
Odin stared at Loki. "Loki Laufeyson, God of Magic, Trickery, Mischief and Lies, 80 Midgardians you have killed. For each life you sent to the gates of death, you will live a painful one, in a dimension we know not of, stripped of your Asgardian Powers. To return, is to be forgiven, but only after 80 lifetimes of pain. You will disappear before you jumped off the bifrost, to prevent the attack from happening, but the Asgardians and those who fought you will have those memories." the King announced, not even bothering to ask his adopted son the reason for the attack. He pointed Gungnir, his spear at Loki, (who had tensed up), ready to say the words of banishment, when; "Father! Wait! Loki's doing was not his. He was not in control!" Odin turned his glare to his oldest, Thor. "Nonsense! He has deceived you with his lies and trickery once more!" Odin stated, then turned to the Jötunn, who had been raised as an Asguardian. "No Father, please, hear him out! He is innocent of his crimes." Thor begged. "Please"
"If I may-" Loki started, but was quickly cut off.
"You may not!" Odin boomed, his spear coming closer and closer to the God Of Trickery's chest.
"Father please, Loki wa-"
"SILENCE!. I, Odin, Son of Bor, AllFather, King of Asgard, Protector of the Nine Realms, banish Loki, Son of Laufey, to a universe we know not of!"
And with that, Loki disappeared. But not before he snapped his fingers, and a silver projection, mostly called the Memories, appeared.
The memory started with Loki falling off the bifrost. The two watched as he fell. And fell. They saw the fear and panic in his eyes when his body hit a planet. When Loki's eyes turned red and blank, his body, blue, Thor let a tear escape his eye. That was his brother dying!
The memory changed to Loki standing next to two females in front of a huge rusted gate with a huge Wolf guarding it. Loki rushed at the wolf to hug him. The wolf looked confused, then the voice of the female on the right. "Welcome to the gates of Death, Loki Laufeyson." Loki turned around. "Loki Odinson." he corrected, not knowing those very words were the ones he would hate, or that he was making Odin regret his choice, and remember that Loki, too, was his son. "Welcome to the gates of Death, Loki Odinson. When you walk in, your fate rests in Hela's hands. I can do no more than vist you." The female on the left spoke this time. Loki turned around to the wolf, kneeled down, and petted it's snout. "Goodbye, Fenris. I hope I don't see you anytime soon." He inclined his head towards the two females. "Goodbye, Hel, Hela. Do visit me sometime won't you?" It suddenly occurred to Thor; the Wolf was Fenris, one of his Nephews, and one of the girls was his Niece; Hela. But who was Hel? Loki straightened up, and headed towards the gate, taking one last look at Fenris, Hela, and Hel. Then as he reached out to open the gates, a purple portal sucked up Loki, and a panicked look appeared on Loki's face. Thor hated that look on his brothers' face. Fenris and the two girls were panicking too, trying to grab him back. Loki went through, and they were back at where Loki had landed from his fall. A big purple titan was standing over the body of Loki. "Loki Laufeyson, I am Thanos, Great Titan, and Your savior. And I want you in my army."
"I- what?"
That memory faded, and a new one took its place.
Memories of Loki being tortured and bribed appeared and disappeared. Until in one memory, Loki broke. Thor watched his brother fall under Thanos's control, despite having fought it for so long. The memories all ended, and Thor found himself hanging off his father's spear, Loki behind him. Then Loki disappeared in a shimmer of green- to another universe.
"NO!"
Loki was strong, and powerful, on the outside- but really, he's just filled with self doubt and mental trauma.
When Loki re-appeared, he was an extremely rare snake. Well- a Basilisk to be exact. An extremely tiny one. Surrounded by larger ones. In a snake nest. Then Loki lived twenty lives, bullied by his family, as an animal, killed usually by hunters and the occasional he was born as a baby boy, he felt power coursing through him. He was a seidr in this life! A wizard? Yes, wizard. That was what the Seidr on Midgard in this universe was called.
"Have you named him yet, Mrs Cordelia Slytherin?"
"Yes. Salazar Slytherin." Wasn't that the name of one of the school builders in the fairy tale, Thor believes is true? Harry Potter?
Five Years Later
Loki hated his life. His friends were the only good thing about this one. The punishment 100% fit it's description. The first twenty wasn't so bad- but this one-. He didn't even have words to describe it. The only thing he could think of was 'curse the Norns.' and Odin. Curse Odin.
Age 15
Helga
Rowena
Godric
Salazar/Loki
"Maybe you can run away." Salazar laughed.
"My Mother would find me in a few hours- if not minutes."
"How? I mean, you're really fast. You outrun nearly everyone here."
"It's- we a- uh" He couldn't tell them. Could he? Witch/Wizard-hunters were everywhere.
"Yes?"
"Remember when I told you guys my mo- Cordelia hits me? And you guys said you would be by my side forever?"
"Uh huh"
"I'm a s-wizard" He leaned back, expecting rejection and anger. That's what happened when he told Thor he wanted to learn magic. Instead, life actually gave him something good the first time since his friends.
"Really? Same!"
"Thank the gods! I am too!"
"YES. I was so worried about telling you guys"
"What…?"
Age 16
They were lost. Salazar had left the house that morning, with food, spare wands, and clothes, on the last day of school. So had Godric, Helga, and Rowena. They headed into the woods, with their bags; and got lost. When they were 100% lost, they sat down for a break.
Godric was the first to speak. "So, what will we do once we leave this place?"
"Maybe build a school for others like us!"
"A place filled with books!"
"A safe place for everyone." The others stared at Salazar. "What? A safe place could be anything; that gives us a range of things to make or do."
"YeaAH!" Godric screamed; a bug had found its way onto his shoe. Salazar cackled, as one does, while getting out his wand for when Godric screams for his help, as he continued watching his friend freak out. Rowena jumped up to help her friend, while Helga hid behind Salazar. Put Godric on the battlefield; He'd win with only a few scratches. Put him in front of a bug; he's helpless. "SALAZAR-GET THE MOTHERFUCKER OFF ME" Salazar sighed, and flicked his wand-the bug died. In his hair. Godric shrieked. Another sigh and flick, and the bug was gone.
"Hey it's evening already; we should start a fire to cook food." Rowena pointed to the sinking sun, barely visible above the hundreds of trees. Salazar stood up. "I'll go find some rabbits or something. We saw a few on our way here. Rowena, you can transfigure something into wood or grab some from the trees, Godric can make the fire, and Helga, can you set up the sheets into something we can sleep in? I'll ward this place later."
The other three started immediately, used to Salazar's leadership skills, and Salazar had gotten used to the three not getting mad at him when he gave orders that actually worked better than their orders. (Except Rowena, but she was too nice to order someone around.) Heading into the forest, he thought about all the lives so far. The first twenty- they sucked, they really did. But this one, it was actually okay. Maybe life decided to give him a break. Or the Odin's curse broke from being far away and too long in this universe. He had been a small Basilisk, five times, and had been killed by one of his nestmates three times. He had been a type of bird two times, and both of them, he was killed by hunters. King Cobra and Tiger Snake three times each. Was killed by his nestmates three times in a row as a Tiger Snake, King Cobra, and King Cobra. Sea snakes two times. Huh. The universe really loved him being a snake. He was also born as a piece of grass once. He lived 74 years before being trampled by deer.
Days flew by, turning into weeks, months, years, before they found their safe place. A big empty field. There would be stories on how the four founders built it by hand, brick by brick, but all they did was combine their magic, and boom! Hogwarts appeared.
They were 19 when they finished setting up the castle, and 20 when they got their first student. By the time that they were 25, they had thousands of witches and wizards residing in the castle escaping from the witch hunts. Helga made the kitchens, Rowena made a room of requirement, which would let you in if you needed. Godric invented a game, then took a chunk of land to make the game area. He called it quidditch. It was played on brooms, something Godric and Rowena made when Helga and Salazar were looking for witches and wizards. Salazar decided to make a secret chamber, one where only people who could speak parseltongue could get in. The other three agreed with that, as they each had their own place in the castle.
When they were in their second year of teaching, they added 'houses.' The children would all stand in a line, and Godric, Helga, Rowena and Salazar would choose who they thought was worthy to be in their house. (Which was everyone.) The children would all learn the same thing, of course, but it was just for who would be responsible for them.
Life was good, and it seemed like Odin's curse had truly disappeared, until on Salazar's birthday he was proven wrong. When he turned 30, his half brother arrived. Varley Slytherin. Loki scoffed inwardly. Who names their child Varley? Varley had sauntered up to the castle like he owned it, ignoring the students who asked who he was, and when one tried to stop him, Varley had pushed her over. Fortunately, some students had raced to inform the four founders, running with them as they rushed out just in time to stop the intruder from entering the castle walls.
Varley stopped, standing stiffly as Salazar and Godric pointed their wands at him, while Rowena and Helga went over to the children in case the unknown decided to attack. The unknown bowed, looked Salazar directly in the eye, and said "Hello Brother."
Hey! First crossover and Marvel fanfic.
I welcome all reviews.
I know it's trash, but it'll get better with time.
Thank you for following, because you probably waited for forever to read this, and it's not that good, and it's short.
