It was at the Avengers Tower; Thor Odinson had surprisingly brought a pot filled with old 20 dollar bills to help pay for the hospitality and as for tips. Tony Stark had came back to the sitting room where the other Avengers were sitting saying "hey Point break thanks but there are not really so good; I checked and they are out of date and would probably fail any anti-counterfeiting measures that had been introduced since these have been printed. How exactly did you get your hands on them?"
"Was Loki who actually got his hands on them, funny story we had a bet with eachother and the loser had to go down to Midgard and pull off a stunt." Thor said sighing sadly at the memory of his late brother.
"I don't know if we really need to hear the details of whatever happened that landed you this much money..." Steve sad as Tony interrupted him.
"Speak for yourself Captain because I for one really want to know this story. So tell me did Reindeer Games go to Vegas and used his Asgardian Magic to rig everything in his favour?" Tony asked as Thor sat comfortably.
"Well here is what happened; Loki got this worker on this Midgardian plane that he was riding to believe that he was carrying a bomb with him. He ransomed it for about 200 thousand of your Midgardian dollars and we had Heimdall bring him back to Asgard when he was in midair." Thor explained as everyone's eyes were widened. "We were young and foolish and especially me; father was actually impressed that I impressed that I came up with it myself and Mother was glad to see us bonding." Thor continued on.
"Thor, that doesn't sound like a 'boys will be boys' mischievous prank; one would be like the one that Bucky talked me into doing when we were eleven when we put strong glue on the teacher's seat while framing the classroom bully for the stunt. What you just described is more like..." Steve said speaking up looking quite serious.
"I believe that the correct terminology that you are looking for Captain is along the lines of an act of terrorism." Bruce Banner spoke up with mutterings of agreement.
"If that is what you Asgardians consider a childish prank then let not talk about what you get up to on your bachelor parties." Clint Barton muttered.
"Everyone else found the story funny when we told them it..." Thor muttered as Tony spoke up.
"Thor, would you say that this happened in 1971 and do you remember what false name your brother had for himself? Was it around Thanksgiving?" Tony asked as Clint and Bruce had their eyes widened at what Tony was implying.
"It would be around that year I think and the name was... Cooper I think?" Thor replied as Tony brought up holograms of the drawings of DB Cooper's face as well as various articles.
"Avengers we have just found the answer to a cold case that had the FBI stumped for decades; Dan Cooper or DB Cooper as he has become better known as thanks to errors on the media's part. High jacked a plane for ransom money and disappeared in the sky while making his escape; never to be seen from again... Until he came to Earth to steal the Tesseract." Tony explained as the Avengers were now looking at Thor.
"So Thor, do you know of any other unsolved mysteries or legends that you Asgardians were responsible for?" Natasha asked.
"Yeah, has Amelia Earhart been relaxing in Asgard all this time?" Clint asked as Thor had no answer.
"What should we do with this information; should anyone believe the story or should we just let this be a cold case?" Steve asked as they thought about what to do with this.
"Okay, I know one thing's for certain... I shouldn't be telling anymore funny stories from now on and just stick to my stories of war..." Thor commented.
After seeing the first episode of Loki I knew I had to write this. I realised while writing this that the Avengers would not probably find the story as funny as Thor intended it to be especially not Steve. I mean do you really think he would be amused by a story where Thor had his brother perform a ransom bomb threat due to the result of a bet? Consider this taking place before Age of Ultron where the Avengers were together again.
