I started writing a year and a half ago as a way to relieve stress before I ended up in the room with the rubber walls and the jacket with all of the shiny buckles during an especially difficult time and I discovered that I have quite a knack for it. I was always the kid who enjoyed writing essays and reports; I love getting my ideas out on paper.

In the last 18 months, I have written two novels and am 2/3 of the way through my third and in the process of looking for a literary agent and hopefully then a publisher. All of my stories include elements of my growing up in the western United States, and because of that, I have always had an affinity for the unique history of westward expansion, particularly the role mining played in shaping the culture and way of life.

I have a BS degree in geography and always hear my favorite professor in the back of my mind reminding me about how important a good sense of place is to any narrative. Humanism is also important to any tale, as people and their unique experiences are what make a society interesting and engaging.

I started to write Fan Fiction very recently to keep my creative juices flowing and express my vision of where I wish the story would go. I hope you enjoy and thanks for reading!
