The next day was a Saturday and Sonic was on the couch having finished watching the movie Death to Smoochy with Tom having gone out on patrol and Maddie at work at the vet, right now he only had Ozzy on the couch to keep him company. "What do you think? Plus what a reality DeVito made; I mean really does he really think a guy in a purple animal costume entertaining small children would ever catch on?" Sonic laughed to Ozzy who barked and then licked his face to his protesting. "I think it hasn't really sunken into your little head filled with thoughts about bones and chasing your tail about how gross you doing that is!" Sonic told him as he jumped off the couch wondering what to do now.

He thought about the girl next door who might have spotted him, Luci wasn't it? Maybe he should have a look at her house and see if he could spot her again, maybe if he sees the Whiskers kitten again then he would be in a better mood than last night. He went out to the back and went to the back of the next door house and jumped up so he could peak over the fence around the house. There was a wooden play house with a slide and there was Luci there playing catch with Tina who he guessed was her sister.

He wondered if he should let himself be known this time and would Tom and Maddie be for it, they didn't think it would be too bad if Luci did see him and know about him living with the Wachowskis. He ended up hearing Tina asking Luci if she could step farther so she could try catching it from further away, Luci nodded as she stepped back but her eyes faced up at his direction with Sonic realising that she may have spotted him and he dropped hitting his head on the ground as he fell.

"What's the matter with you Sonic; besides Crazy Carl you stayed hidden for 10 years and it took a massive overcharge that took out power in the town for you to be actually found! Do you actually want to be caught by them?" Sonic was screaming in his head as he got himself up. Should he run back to the house, Ozzy is in there by himself with the doors unlocked so better he should...

"Are you alright down there?" asked a voice coming up form above as Sonic gathered his bearings.

"Thanks for asking but nothing to worry about; it's going to take a lot more than that to take me down! I have been shot in the leg before and I have won a bar fight..." Sonic said before pausing and looking up to see Luci peering over the fence and looking down at him. "Uh... Woof?" Sonic tried weakly hoping that his dog impression would be better than his cat impression; if not then he is pretty sure that she wouldn't have anything to shoot at.

Well she could always throw that ball at his head...

"I don't really think that dogs go woof like that." Luci laughed as she was smiling down at him before putting her hand over the fence. "If you let me help you over the fence then we could introduce yourselves properly." Luci told him as Sonic put his hands up to her and she pulled him over with him jumping over the fence in ball form when he landed on his feet to their amazement.

"You really did see him next door Luci, I thought that the sound of him the Blue Devil would look scary but you are so fluffy!" Tina said excitedly as went and felt the fur on his head as he muttered about this being embarrassing.

"Thanks, glad that my reputation precedes me but I do have a name other than what Super Observant Carl had called me and that's Sonic." Sonic said taking a bow as Luci came over to shake his hand. "Plus if you like my performance then I will say that I also do birthday parties, weddings, Bar Mitzvahs and whatever else you might want to invite me on!" Sonic said as he then took a bow.

"Nice to meet you Sonic; I'm Luci and this is my sister Tina. We heard stories about people in town seeing you at night and I thought I saw you yesterday when Mrs Wachowski gave Whiskers back. You have been staying with her and Sheriff Wachowski?" Luci asked as she introduce herself as Tina gave a wave to him.

"Yep; I have my own cave in the house I stay with Pretzel Lady and Donut Lord."Sonic said pointing to the direction of the house with them finding the names funny. "Plus I would teach Whiskers some manners, I saved him from racoons and what does he do to show his thanks? Scratch me in the eye, that's what he does!" Sonic told them shaking his head with his arms folded as they were surprised.

"I thought that I heard a scream." Luci pondered as Tina looked worried.

"So sorry about that; Whiskers is usually a nice boy but he must have been so scare." Tina said apologetically.

"Don't worry about it as long as he watches where he puts his claws next time. Nice to meet you too and besides from Donut Lord and Pretzel Lady, you two are the first ones I have actually got to meet from Green Hills face to face." Sonic replied as they looked sad.

"So you didn't have any friends?" Tina asked as Sonic looked nervous as he shook his head.

"Of course I had friends; I had plenty of friends! There were animals and all the people in the town who didn't know that I was there and I spied on them from afar." Sonic said as Luci put a hand on his shoulder while kneeling down.

"We can be your friends now Sonic and if you want to meet our other friends in this club that we have then I am sure that they will want to be your friends too!" Luci said as Sonic was excited.

"Okay new friends; then what do you do for fun?" Sonic asked with a big smile on his face as their faces had big smiles too.

"Well I really love spending time with Luci and I love going to school! I wish that I could go to school every day!" Tina answered as Sonic's face was frozen with the smile that he had previously.

"Not... Exactly what I was expecting but you do what you love!" Sonic said as he remembered about the house being left alone. "Nice to meet you but I should be heading home now, will catch you later and perhaps we should keep this between us for now!" Sonic told them as they waved goodbye to him and watched amazed as Sonic ran up the fence and jumped over.

He went back to the Wachowski house and reunited with Ozzy on the couch as they watched TV together. Soon there was Tom and Maddie coming home as Sonic greeted them. "Hey everyone, decided to end my shift early since it was a slow day anyway which is saying something for a normal day on patrol here in Green Hills!" Tom said as he put his bag away.

"Well do you know what I was on the phone with Mrs Gloria next door. She wanted to ask about if she should expect any unusual behaviour from Whiskers from his run in with the racoons. She spotted something outside and her girls denied it but she could have sworn that she had seen a blue blur jump over her fence." Maddie explained as she and Tom looked at Sonic trying to look innocent.

"Could have just been seeing things... Okay I just wanted to see, Luci kind of caught me and invite me over to talk. Sorry but I think that I let myself be caught... They said they would want to be my friends..." Sonic explained as Tom and Maddie came closer to him with Maddie taking him into a hug.

"Don't worry about it Sonic; I wasn't accusing you or anything and I thought this might be the case! The Glorias are a nice family and most people in this town I know wouldn't want to draw unwanted attention to us. There is nothing wrong with you seeking more friends to spend time with; maybe with a disguise or something." Maddie told him as Sonic smiled.

"They were super friendly but I think Tina was a little weird." Sonic said as Tom batted an eye.

"The blue alien hedgehog calling the little girl next door weird? Please explain how?" Tom asked.

"She said that she wishes that every day was school, I mean aren't kids on this planet supposed to hate the place?" Sonic asked as they laughed.

The surname Gloria was used as it's the maiden name of Luci's actress Leah Gloria Montes.
