Steve had went with Peter (after getting his mask back from Jennifer) as Miles showed them the way to the FEAST homeless shelter in Chinatown, Peter remembered how freaked out he was when FEAST's founder philanthropist Martin LI turned out to have a super powered split personality and was the crime boss Mr Negative who had taken advantage of the power vacuum years after caused by Fisk going on the run. "My Mum and I were staying here and it took some getting used, on my Earth it was set up by this man Martin Li who seemed to have been a saint to the media but he turned out to have been a bad guy called Mr..." Miles said as Peter looked his way.
"Mr Negative, I know same here as well." Peter interrupted as they came closer; Miles gave some sort of signal as there was a figure in one of the rooms noticing and went down. Soon coming out was a Puerto Rican woman who embraced Miles and Miles then looked towards them after unmasking himself to show a black Puerto Rican boy who looked to be Peter's age when he had started out as Spider-Man. "Mum, this is Peter Parker and Captain America. Peter Parker and Captain America, this is my Mum: Rio Morales!" Miles introduced as Rio smiled as she shook their hands.
"The suit is different with the white spider symbol but on my Earth Tony Stark didn't become a tyrannical President so I can't expect most things to be the same." Rio said smiling before it went down. "Can I ask please how much that you know?" Rio asked hesitatingly as Peter sighed.
"Well I know you came from an alternate Earth and I had a little talk with your brother in law. I know that I died, Miles here became my replacement, my counterpart married Felicia Hardy and about your husband..." Peter said hesitatingly as Rio sighed.
"Jefferson never had anything nice to say about Aaron but I doubted he would ever go this far... Thanks to him Jefferson and Miles were never able to reconcile differences that Jefferson never knew that they had because he never found out that Miles was the new Spider-Man. Through our grief Miles and I managed to work through it and knowing about Spider-Man." Rio said as Peter remembered that he never really worked things out with Aunt May with her knowing secretly that he was Spider-Man.
"Sorry about your husband Mrs Rio, we could offer you somewhere to stay if you want." Steve offered as Rio shook their heads.
"We understand that a lot is going on but thanks for the offer, we would prefer to keep our heads down since the less people knowing about us the better I think. I don't mind us staying in touch but I wouldn't want any complications like if I accidentally ran into myself here, I have had to stop myself from going to see my alive husband here. Besides we are getting to know the people here at FEAST plus helping everyone else there, doing us some good." Rio replied as Steve handed a number over.
"Listen Mr Parker, I never got to know the Spider-Man on my world and I had been feeling guilty about not doing stuff as Spider-Man since there was already a Spider-Man which was what I was doing on my Earth before he got killed... You think that you could please give me some pointers if we met up later?" Miles asked as Peter nodded.
"Sure thing, so did you somehow find out about Venom and put the costume back on to help?" Peter asked as Miles shook his head.
"Actually, I had been going out for a while finding some bad guys to web up. Did you not notice there were more bad guys webbed up than what you had done?" Miles asked as Peter paused but shook his head, honestly if it came up he wouldn't have given it a second thought. He had long ago gave up on keeping track of the perps that he had taken down and so just like with this Earth's Aaron Davis, he had trouble remembering criminals that he had beaten. Especially if they came after him for revenge.
"Not really but can you please explain the electric thing, did a fight with Electro do this to you?" Peter asked feeling jealous but Miles shook his head.
"I think the spider that bit me was experimented on more than the one that bit yours, it bit me at Uncle Aaron's place so he must have stolen it from somewhere. Funny enough against the guy that I just used it on, I call it my Venom power!" Miles explained as Peter found the humour in it. Rio said goodbye to them as they went into the FEAST facility with Miles going to change back from his Spider-Man suit.
"So now hopefully Jennifer will not be too angry about our night being ruined..." Peter muttered as Steve was thinking about going back to bed with Natasha.
At the base of the Cabal, MacPherran was forced into a corner as she was glaring hatefully at the members of the Guys while Robbins had Ronan next to him ready with the Universal Weapon as Venom was snarling at Robbins. "I could have had him! I could have taken on the Avengers and taken on Parker!" Venom snarled towards Robbins who was unfazed.
"I told you that I would allow you this one chance to strike at Parker alone and it was quite obvious that you would have failed and have gotten captured if I didn't take you in! Brock with his experience couldn't end Spider-Man, let along take on the Avengers so I don't know why you think that you could have taken all of them on! We have to use strength in numbers when the time comes to end the Avengers and only then will you get another shot at him!" Robbins retorted as Venom was furious.
Venom then looked towards Petey who was terrified at the sight of Venom and then Castle went in front of him, "He is a pathetic wimp, trust me you won't find any satisfaction in killing him." Castle said as Venom looked towards him and then seeing the truth in his words then turned. "You're welcome for saving your life Petey." Castle said towards Petey smiling as he looked relieved.
"Quite disappointing to see such a counterpart to someone who had beaten me time and time again." Octavius said coming forward from his workplace looking down towards Petey. "Tell me Mr Parker; is there an Otto Octavius on your Earth as well?" Octavius asked as Petey nodded.
"There was... Had an accident testing out his new arms and went on a rampage with the Spider-Man on my Earth beating you to death. The Media sold it as him taking down a new bad guy." Petey explained as Octavius shook his head.
"A multiversal constant with me being misunderstood and seemingly doomed to be remembered as a monster. Something that I resolve to fix by writing out my own destiny." Octavius said shaking his head before heading back to his workplace looking at where he had a piece of the Venom Symbiote put into a glass chamber to examine.
"Is someone going to explain the deal with this baby that you say blasts eye beams?" Parks asked looking oddly at the crib with Scotty in it.
"A Mutie or in layman's term a Mutant, Stark used his father's research to create them. Meant to act as possible future superheroes or villains. We infiltrated a hospital a while back to interrogate one of Stark's 'superheroes' and we found this infant recently born and fitted with the glasses after accidentally killing its parents." Castle explained as the Cabal members raised their eyebrows.
"Looks like your Tony Stark embraced what our's had become in his Presidency, what drives you normal humans your crusade against him?" Robbins asked as Sarge looked serious.
"Our losses caused by the system that Stark and his Avengers created, we have all lost ones thanks to them with the public at large not knowing or not caring about the consequences of their showy heroics or who they truly are behind the facade. I was part of a troop that discovered the truth of one of the so called supervillains and Stark had his Iron Legion as well as Thor kill all of us but I alone managed to survive. My wife was a top executive at Stark's company who began helping me trying to expose him but he found out and... Stark hates whistleblowers." Sarge explained wiping away a tear with the Guys members already knowing the full story and Robbins was intrigued but the other Cabal members didn't really care.
Now let's look towards the Earth where the Guys had called home to see what their main nemesis was doing...
Tony Stark in a robe was not happy that he had to stay up late at night in his manor in Malibu, California but he had been wanting to come up with a scheme to help get back the good PR lost in that debacle of a senate meeting along with the controversy of his Insight project. He was looking towards the Ultron plans as well as robot designs confiscated from AIM; perhaps he should consider a return of Ultron. He should be debating whether to let causalities go up to the thousands before the Avengers come in to save the day so the more they would be seen as heroes for stopping him.
Thanks to the cover story of Ultron having made backups of himself, it made it easier not to have to keep explaining how he came back.
He had an explanation for the Mandarin returning but somehow Slattery had disappeared around the same time Coulson and his group of Guys had disappeared as well. Plus there were requests for meetings, notices from lawyers considering upcoming DNA tests representing past flames and an angry notice from up and coming model Mary Jane Watson (who was nicknamed the 'Girl Next Door') warning to never contact her again after she was treated after their night together.
He then had his AI HOMER bring up profiles of Mutants brought to his training facilities recently under the guidance of rich socialite Mutant Emma Frost (who he considered a top candidate for the future Mrs Tony Stark). There was runaway Scottish mutant Rahne Sinclair abused by her bigoted evangelic preacher father (from a prostitute but he had claimed to have merely taken her in) before her Mutant powers to turn into a werewolf like creature and then killed him. She could be used as like an anti hero or one of those villains with a tragic backstory as the media really liked those. Sam Guthrie whose powers were like a human cannonball which seemed more gimmicky than he would have liked.
Then he had gotten a notice coming from Harley Keener making him face palm remembering that he was slightly younger than Flash Thompson and almost as annoying. He had been a preteen kid when Stark had gotten careless flying out while drunk and got lost near where the kid was with his armor damaged. He helped him fix it since he was an unusually bright kid and made him think that he was on the run against some terrorists. When the kid was older he hooked him up with a job at his company and now the kid thought that he was being groomed to be his heir. He had HOMER bring it up.
"Tony, I can't believe that Spider doofus ruined the hearing for you! I bet you would have been able to change their ignorant minds! You deserve to be in politics more than they do, you should consider running for President!"
Stark shook his head at Keener thinking that they were on first names terms but was amused at the idea of him running for US President, it would be appealing but right now he would have to give up quite a lot of power to become President. It would be more trouble than its worth not having the free reign he would have liked with the Congress and Senate slowing him down. Still something to keep in mind.
