Mal stared at her brother that night and sighed. She made sure that her mother wasn't around before speaking out loud as she stared out at Auradon.
"If you can hear me, Auradon Council..." Mal started. "As much as I hate to say this...thank you for the power...I wanted it for a selfish reason but you gave it to me...Now, let me do something completely unselfish...I want you to give my brother Hal the main control of the power. Let him earn his way to Auradon instead of me..He doesn't deserve to live here. He doesn't deserve to suffer through what he does. I'll willingly give the power up if I have to. Just help my brother."
Auradon
"We've finally found something that she really cares about." Fairy Godmother declared triumphantly. Everyone gave her weird looks.
"They're twins so can't they share the power?" Ben asked thinking this out. "I mean we honestly didn't know how many children of Maleficent there were and we didn't specify a number, did we? Is there any way to have them share Master Control of The Gamer?"
Fairy Godmother protested the most but in a display that made everyone sure that Ben would make a fine king he managed to talk everyone else around to agreeing with him.
Auradon Royalty Council has heard the plea and because of its selfless nature both Mal and Hal now share Master Control of The Gamer.
Mal choked on her coffee this morning blushing. She wasn't the only one. Jay was beside her and choked on his own. Evie and Carlos were just as shocked.
"Damn, did you have to put that on all of our screens?" Mal raged. "Geesh! I'm not a goody-goody!"
"None of us thought you were." Jay said carefully. "But what plea are they talking about?"
Hal was being taught about his screens by Carlos.
"It's stupid." Mal sighed, "and yeah it sounds goody-goody..." she shook her head. "I asked them to give my Master Control and power to Hal because he needed it more than me."
Maleficent had been searching for the brats when she heard this. She stayed out of sight and listened.
"Ah..." The others nodded.
Hal hugged his sister. He was shocked that he now had the screen as well. He tilted his head and stared at his hand. He rotated it and blue/black magic swirled around it. He was shocked he could do it too. He showed them and was shocked when he was praised.
"I keep trying." Jay sighed, "But it's not working." he rotated his hand but nothing happened. "I even did what Mal told me to do to call my magic if I had any. I feel something there but I can't for the life of me bring it out."
"I feel it too." Evie agreed then shook her head. "But I can't manifest it either. It's annoying. It's like it really wants to come out but I just can't get it out."
"Talking about your magic?" Maleficent asked finally coming into view. All of them tensed. "You two will probably need objects of some sort if you do have magic like you say. Evil Queen has a small magic mirror that no longer works for her but may work for you. As for Jafar a golden ring with a serpent on it. The serpent will have ruby eyes."
"Er..." Jay said thinking. "I've seen it."
Evie was thinking hard as well.
"I know where the mirror is but I can't get to it easily." She sighed. She shook her head then smirked. "But if mother were kept busy and someone with magic helped me. I'd get it easily. Hal, do you think you can make something fly to your hands?"
Hal thought about it and frowned hard, he swirled his hand and his magic was back. Evie's watch flew into his hand.
Object summoning-1
"Perfect."
"We'll keep her busy." Carlos said, "Luckily, I was planning to scheme your mother anyway."
"Why?" they all looked at him. Carlos wasn't known as the schemer in the group.
"She told my mother that the dog was being too loud and needed a good beating." Carlos growled. "We don't have a dog. Just me. Anyway, Evie, I'll need your help installing a "Magic Mirror" that I invented."
Maleficent forgot why she'd come as she listened to the children plot, plan, and scheme to steal from two of the most dangerous people on the Isle. If she didn't know any better she would say that she was actually rather proud of her daughter. She knew better of course.
"This thing weighs a ton." Jay hissed.
It was taking all of them to get the Mirror on the wall. They finally did and hid in the closet when Evil Queen came in. Carlos had managed to hit the on button.
"Evil Queen. Evil Queen. My how you've let yourself go." the mirror spoke when Evil Queen became level with it.
Evil Queen squealed and clapped like a toddler when she saw her old friend in the mirror.
"Mirror, mirror on the wall whose the fairest of them all?" Evil Queen asked giddily.
The mirror began insulting her and tearing down her looks. As this happened they snuck out of the closet. Carlos stayed with Jet and Mal to make sure the mirror kept working. Jay went with Evie and Hal down the hall to Evil Queen's bedroom.
Jay stood outside while Evie and Hal snuck inside.
The box that the mirror was in was cursed according to Evie. It had stayed cursed when Evil Queen had brought it here. Hal nodded and summoned the mirror to him. He was shocked when it worked. He gave it to Evie and they made their escape with the others.
"I wonder how long she'll argue with that thing?" Mal said panting when they finally stopped for breath half way back to the bazaar.
"That was genius, Carlos." Evie panted and rubbed her hand into his head. "Amazing, really. The perfect torture for my mother." she turned to Hal. "Thank you too, Hal. You were a big help today."
Mal stopped Evie from touching Hal who'd flinched when she tried so Evie just gave him a bright smile.
