-A few months ago-
Within the Evernight Castle, a pale Grimm woman with red eyes and black sclera is standing beside a bed with an incapacitated female with a missing right arm. On the other side of the bed were a man and a woman. The man had grey hair and grey eyes, while the female had red eyes and green hair.
"Tell me what happened," The Grimm woman ordered. She was staring at the man and woman intensely while they had their heads down.
"After a week of information gathering, we were able to locate the Fall Maiden. We enacted the plan we had, and it was successful. We were able to beat her, but before Cinder was able to absorb the power, we were intercepted by a hooded man in silver armour," the grey-haired man said. While speaking, he was looking at the Grimm woman. Still, after speaking, he brought his head down once more.
"He took us down without any issues at all. The way he moved was elegant at times. However, he would suddenly switch to more wild and unpredictable movements, and that's not the worst part, he moves too fast, half the time we couldn't follow his movement at all," the green-haired girl said, just like the man who spoke before her, she would lift her head when he spoke, but after that, she would look back down.
"How did Cinder lose her arm?" The Grimm woman asked. She's angry even if one couldn't see it in her outer appearance. On the inside, she was furious.
"Cinder didn't like that she was interrupted. She tried to push through the man and used the glove to try and steal the Maiden's power, but the man easily stopped her advancement towards the Fall Maiden. Out of anger, Cinder was no longer thinking straight. She used the Grimm glove on the man to try and harm him, but it didn't work, the man just cut off her arm to get rid of the tendrils that were latching on to him," the green-haired woman said, she was angry at the man that caused Cinder to lose her arm, she wanted to find him and kill him, but she knew that she was not strong enough, after all, the man was able to take all three of them down, what would she do alone.
"If this man is as strong as you say he is, then how were you able to escape?" the Grimm woman questioned them. She was getting angrier by the minute. Cinder was her most valuable pawn after all, even if she thinks that she is more than just a pawn.
"I wouldn't have if he were trying to stop us from leaving, but he was more worried about the Fall Maiden since she was visibly hurt. She was more of a priority than we were," the grey-haired man said. He remembered that after the man cut of Cinder's arm, he just kicked her away and ran towards the Fall Maiden to help her.
"Hmm, if that's the case, then he would need to be dealt with. I'll have Tyrian and Hazel deal with him, but first, I need you to come with me and tell me every little detail of what you remember about how he fought. That way, we may be able to identify him faster and find a counter for his fighting style," The Grimm woman said. She was thinking of how to kill the man in the most brutal way. It would be punishment for getting in her way of destroying the world and stealing the power of the twin gods.
-Present time - Beacon- Lockers-
Ruby and Yang were having a conversation when suddenly, a bubbly hyperactive girl and a drowsy looking man passed them.
"Wonder what those two are so worked up about?" Ruby said with curiosity. She looked towards the duo and then back to her sister.
"Oh, who knows? So, you seem awfully chipper this morning!" Yang asked. Ever since she woke up, she saw that her sister had been awfully cheery for someone that was a mess the previous day.
"Yep! No more awkward small talk or 'getting-to-know-you' stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do the talking," Ruby said, excitement evident in her voice. She then proceeded to stroke her weapon, Crescent Rose, with her face.
"Well, remember, Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you wanna grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn to work together," Yang informed Ruby. She hoped that this experience would allow her sister to finally break out of her shell and start meeting new people.
"You sound like Dad! Okay, first of all, what does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink milk!" Ruby asked, then informed, she believed that she didn't need to meet new people. After all, she has Yang.
"But what about when we form teams?" Yang asked. She knew that there was a low chance for them to be paired up, and she couldn't help Ruby much if she didn't get a partner that she was comfortable with.
"Um, I don't know, I... I'll just be on your team or something..." Ruby said nervously. She didn't know anyone besides Yang, then her mind went towards Jaune, she had a good time talking to him the other day, and he didn't find her obsession with weapons weird.
Ruby and Yang continued their conversation. Meanwhile, Jaune just finished taking a shower. He woke up early in the morning as it was routine for him. He would always wake up at five in the morning, do his daily morning exercise, then proceed to his training regime, and this will go on until eight in the morning.
After Jaune got out of the shower, he went to his locker area to get some clothing. When he opened his locker, the scroll inside rang, and he immediately picked it up and answered it.
"Hello…Oh hey…Not yet. The initiation will start in about thirty minutes…I just got out of the shower…Yes, I already had breakfast…What! No! I didn't eat all the cafeteria food! I swear! When? Alright, I'll see you then…." Jaune was having a conversation in his scroll, and he was smiling the whole time. He couldn't wait for her to arrive. He hasn't seen her for about a month now, after all.
The yelling that he did while on his scroll caught the attention of a few people, mainly Ruby and Yang.
"So, Jaune. Who was that?" Yang asked. From the conversation that she heard, it felt like Jaune was talking to a female and that she saw Jaune smiling the whole time he was talking.
"A friend of mine, I haven't seen her in a while, so I got excited when she told me that she would be coming to Beacon soon," Jaune said with a smile on his face. He wanted to meet with her soon. He missed her.
"Is she your girlfriend?" Yang asked out of curiosity. If one were to look into her eyes, one would see just how curious she was.
"She's not," Jaune replied. He then continued to get some clothes on. Thankfully he was already wearing boxer shorts.
"Would all first-year students please report to Beacon Cliff for initiation? Again, all first-year students report to Beacon Cliff immediately," Glynda said through the PA system. She sounded irritated first thing in the morning.
"I guess I need to hurry and get dressed," Jaune said. He was putting on his clothes while also drying his hair.
"We'll see you on the cliff, Jaune," Ruby said. She pulled her sister away from Jaune's vicinity since he was getting dressed, and she could not stop staring at his body.
"Okay, I'll see you there," Jaune said, he was nearly done getting dressed, so it shouldn't take that long.
A few minutes later, Jaune arrived in the Beacon Cliff. There he saw Blake, Ruby and Yang. He went towards them since they were the people he knew.
"For years, you have trained to become warriors, and today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest," The headmaster said. He was looking around at all the students. He was holding a mug in his right hand.
"Now, I'm sure many of you have heard rumours about the assignment of 'teams'. Well, allow us to put an end to your confusion. Each of you will be given teammates... today," Glynda said, sounding monotone. She was holding on to a scroll tablet in her left hand.
"What? Ohh..." Ruby complained. She thought that she had more time to look for a partner, guess she was wrong.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So, it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you can work well," The headmaster said. He took a sip of his whatever it was he had on his mug.
"That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years," the headmaster continued. He took another sip on his mug.
"Whaaaat?!" Ruby shouted. She had a shocked expression on her face. She could not believe that she would be partnered with the first person she made eye contact with. What if she was partnered up with the crabby girl.
"After you've partnered up, make your way to the northern end of the forest. You will meet opposition along the way. Do not hesitate to destroy everything in your path... or you will die. You will be monitored and graded through the duration of your initiation, but our instructors will not intervene. You will find an abandoned temple at the end of the path containing several relics. Each pair must choose one and return to the top of the cliff. We will regard that item, as well as your standing, and grade you appropriately. Are there any questions?" Ozpin said. He looked around to see if there was anyone that had any questions. He nodded his head when he saw that no one had any.
"Good! Now, take your positions," the headmaster said. He then nodded at Glynda, which was a signal to start flinging the student to the Emerald Forest.
Everyone strikes a pose on their tile. The bubbly girl from earlier crouches low, the drowsy man earlier wields his weapons, Yang raises her fists, Ruby readies her body. Jaune smacked his right fist onto his left palm, causing him to shine bright, which caught everyone's attention, and when the light died down, they saw Jaune in his silver armour.
Ruby was going to say something to Jaune, but she couldn't since she was flung into the forest, Jaune saw this, and he just laughed at Ruby's adorableness when she screamed due to being launched without her notice. One by one, the rest of the students were flung into the forest, which included Jaune.
