Chapter 2: Remnant's Red Rose, Ruby vs Yuga

The whole group was surprised at the revelation of Garga and this new monster's knowing of each other as they said each other's names.
The larger dragon in red and black armor seemed to have smiled as she looked down upon Garga's form, not out of pity or a sense of superiority, but out of respect.
She lightly chuckled a little before speaking up. "It's been far too long, Gargantua Dragon."
"Indeed it has, Rizamarsa." Garga agreed with the dragon while smiling.
Yuga realized what the conversation the two dragons were having signified, so he walked up to ask his buddy a question. "Hold on a second, you two know each other?" Yuga asked Garga.
"Indeed, everyone, this is Rizamarsa, a deity of prosperity and a lover of all things roses." Garga told everyone.
"As well as the leader of the Rose Imperium, an empire that I was able to assemble from all kinds of worlds." Rizamarsa added.
"Whoa..." Ruby marveled at the status and titles of her new buddy while Garga looked surprised for a moment.
"Leader?" Garga asked until something came to him. "Oh yeah, you wanted to start your own kingdom where everyone could live in peace, correct, it's actually been seen through?" Garga asked Rizamarsa.
"Indeed so, Gargantua Dragon, it took a lot of work and even more gathering power and beings who've had nowhere to go, but I was able to make it work perfectly." Rizamarsa declared as she raised her right arm up to her heart area.
"Wait, so you're a deity as well?" Cinder asked, intervening in the conversation.
Rizamarsa looked at Cinder for a moment with a furrowed look in her eyes, but withdrew it and answered Cinder's question. "Indeed I am, I was able to found my Imperium of Roses by using my deific power of the creation of energy." Rizamarsa answered.
"Okay, I think we're geting away from an important topic, how do Garga and Rizamarsa know each other?" Weiss asked.
"Garga?" Rizamarsa asked as she looked down to the Deity of Combat.
"It's a nickname that my buddy gave to me." Garga answered to Rizamarsa's confusion. "Anyways, Rizamarsa and I have been allies in arms for a couple of decades a few millennium ago." Garga answered Weiss's question.
"Really Garga, you never told me you made friends before you became my buddy." Yuga commented.
"It was... a long time ago." Garga told his buddy.
"As well as when I appeared, I take it you had to end your ties with her after you and the other deities faced me that one time?" Destroyer asked Garga.
"Indeed, Destroyer." Garga confirmed.
"Wait a second." Rizamarsa asked as she looked at Destroyer's form. "Why do you feel so familiar?" She asked Destroyer.
"I thought that this might come up the moment I laid eyes on you." Destroyer grimaced. "Oh Deific Dragon Lord of Roses." Destroyer suddenly called her, making Rizamarsa recoil in shock.
"Wait, the only ones who'd know that name are me, Garga, and potentially the one who I helped in..." Rizamarsa paused as she looked into Destroyer's green eyes, his oddly familiar eyes.
"Huh?" Rizamarsa gasped as the memory flashed in her mind.
Gargantua Dragon and Rizamarsa were flying around the sky, firing their weapons and attacks at a giant skull-shaped atrocity that had its sights set on destroying them both and even more.
"I am Gargantua Dragon..." Garga in the flashback roared.
"And I am the Deific Dragon Lord of Roses, Rizamarsa Rosaria." Rizamarsa declared with pride.
"And together we will save this universe, and destroy you, ONCE AND FOR ALL!" The two shouted as a giant sword cloaked in flames fell upon the skull.
Rizamarsa snapped back to reality as she gazed down upon Destroyer's smaller form. "But... the Gargantua Punisher should've..."
"I know, but it didn't, and I do not regret surviving that battle, or the last few dozens that I've endured." Destroyer looked to Ranma. "Not after I obtained a buddy that was willing to stick by me no matter what it was that I've done." Destroyer said, forming his mouth into a slight smile.
Ranma smiled. "Rizamarsa, he told me everything about his past a few months ago, and as such, I was able to forgive him for all that he's done and planned to do, why don't you do the same?" Ranma asked.
Rizamarsa looked down at Ranma who put himself by Destroyer in such a casual way, as if Destroyer wasn't ever a threat to anyone at all. Rizamarsa sighed as she lifted her hand up to her forehead. "Well, if a human was able to forgive him, I guess I could only just make sure I keep an eye on him." The deity of Prosperity said.
Destroyer lowered his form in a bowing stance as he spoke. "Thank you for pardoning me this one time." Destroyer thanked the deity.
Rizamarsa nodded her head and turned to Ruby. "Now then, if I'm not mistaken, you are my buddy?" The draconic deity asked her.
"Ummm... yeah, my name is Ruby Rose, Rizamarsa." Ruby introduced herself.
Rizamarsa looked shocked at hearing her name. "Truely, your name is indeed Ruby Rose?" Rizamarsa asked, crouching down a little.
"Ummm... yes." Ruby asked slightly unnerved by what exactly she was going to do.
Rizamarsa hummed to herself as she smiled. "I like that name, I think it fits you well, young Rose Petal." Rizamarsa jokingly said to her.
Ruby smiled at the nickname the draconic deity gave her just now. "Hehe, well then, now that you called me Rose Petal, how about I just call you Riza for short." Ruby said jokingly.
Rizamarsa thought about that for a moment before nodding in understanding. "That does seem like the most optimal nickname to give to me now is it?" Rizamarsa asked rhetorically. "Very well, a nickname for a nickname, I'll call you Rose Petal sometimes, and you may refer to me as Riza." Rizamarsa told her.
"Good to hear it, Riza." Ruby raised her hand up to her buddy as she and Rizamarsa, now being referred to as Riza, softly high fived each other.
Everyone around the two couldn't help but smile at the sight, except for Cinder and Neo because of their current state of mind. "Soooo... what happens now?" Neo asked with a shrug.
Everyone was silent at that question, they were so amazed by Riza that they had no idea what to do after they'd met with her, that is until Yuga smiled. "I have an idea." Yuga said, getting everyone's attention. "Why don't me and Ruby have a Buddyfight." Yuga said, shocking everyone.
"Me and you..." Ruby said before Nora intervened.
"BUDDYFIGHTING EACH OTHER!" She shouted excitedly. "Oh, please do, I want to see a Buddyfight SOOOOO badly." Nora pleaded while looking at Ruby with a pair of puppy dog eyes.
"Ummm... well..." Ruby looked over to the people of Remnant, and then her newly acquired buddy monster.
"It could be a good chance for you to see what it is that I can do." Riza commented on the proposition.
"I'd wouldn't mind seeing a Buddyfight, besides, you have the knowledge as to how to compete in one, right?" Cinder asked Ruby.
"It would be interesting to see a battle between two deities, at least." Weiss added.
"Well... yeah, but..." Ruby said before a thought crossed her mind. "I'm eventually going to HAVE to Buddyfight in this world, aren't I." Ruby thought, before a look of determination appeared on her face. "Alright, let's do it, I guess." Ruby said definitively.
"For share! This is going to be awesome." Masato declared.
"Indeed, even if Ruby knows how to Buddyfight, she needs to know her deck beforehand." Subaru told everyone as he looked at Miko. "Miko, how about you and I help out Ruby in getting accustomed to her deck." Subaru asked, looking at Miko.
"Wait, she has one right now?" Miko asked.
"Indeed, I saw a deck's worth of cards in her new deck case when it formed back inside." Subaru told her.
"Oh, alright then, me and Subaru will get Ruby ready for her first Buddyfight, in the meantime, why don't the rest of you go over to the you-know-where and get Yuga ready." Miko said while winking to Yuga.
The people of Remnant raised an eyebrow while the people of Earth smiled. "You heard her, Yuga, let's go." Ranma told his best friend.
"Alright then, everyone except for Ruby, come with us." Yuga said to the People of Remnant, minus Ruby.
Everyone of the People of Remnant were confused as Yuga walked off with his friends that weren't staying behind with Ruby. "Wait, so Ruby's staying at the mansion..." Blake interrupted Jaune.
"While we're going where exactly?" She asked.
"You'll see." Yuga said winking to them all.
"Oh, but before we go inside." Riza clapped her hands together a single time as she was soon engulfed in a large red sigil which shrunk down and dispersed, showing Riza in a smaller form.
Riza was now about as tall as a person's leg, and was missing her armor below her neck, leaving her with her red mane-like hair that gave her the appearance of a hedgehog, and her black skin that covered the entirety of her body except for her underbelly, which had a grey covering with a single red gem in the center with red and black lines connected to it, and a red gem on her forehead surrounded by a grey metal piece attached to her horns.
Overall, she looked like a doppleganger of Garga's SD form, only with completely different colors.
"I believe this form ought to be more suitable for the task at hand." Riza stated.
Most of the people of Remnant were shocked at the transformation Riza just underwent as Yang spoke up. "What just happened?" She asked.
"This must be Riza's SD form, it's a transformation that monsters can use for more casual things when they aren't buddyfighting." Subaru answered.
(After the people of Remnant (except Ruby) left with Yuga and his friends...)
Ruby and Miko were waiting in the room where Ruby got her core deck case, as Subaru walked in through the door. "Okay, they went to where Ruby and Yuga will be having their Buddyfight, in the meantime let's try to get Ruby accustomed to her new deck." Subaru said with a determined look in his eyes.
"Indeed, let us do so." Riza prompted.
"So how exactly does this work?" Ruby asked, not familiar with how to build decks.
"Well, it's simple really. First off is the flag of the deck you want to build." Subaru told her. "Buddyfight flags are what tells everyone what kind of cards you're going to use, and they're both visible from the very start of the fight." Subaru lectured as Miko took over.
"Then there's the card you put into the buddy zone, which is your buddy monster, like Riza." Miko told Ruby as she pointed her hand to Riza. "They're what give players opposing you an idea as to what to expect from your deck, and a chance to plan accordingly on the fly, and the same thing applies for them." Miko said as Ruby nodded.
"So the buddy and flag cards are what give your opponent a chance to see what your game plan is right from the start?" Ruby asked, slightly confused.
"Not exactly." Subaru told her, as he pointed to Cross. "Cross is my buddy, and he is a Astrodragon monster from Star Dragon World, that is what you can gather from seeing both his card and a Star Dragon World flag in the game, but just because you can see them easily, doesn't mean you can immediately guess what their strategy is going to be." Subaru told her.
"But the buddy and flag aren't the only cards you have to take into account when building a deck." Miko told Ruby. "You also have to put cards in your deck that are able to effectively support your buddy, but are of the same world as your flag dictates." Miko added.
Ruby nodded as she looked at the cards in her deck case, she pulled them out and looked at the cards in her hand, spread out in fan shape. "So, because these cards are Dragon World cards, I have to use a Dragon World flag with them." Ruby asked Subaru and Miko.
The two buddyfighters looked at each other. "Yes, that's the case, but are those cards really Dragon World cards?" Subaru asked.
Riza interrupted. "That's not entirely true." Riza said, getting the attention of the humans.
She reached into her hair and pulled out a card that had the classic Buddyfight card backside to it, but the front of it was completely dark red. "This is a special card that the brightest minds of the Rose Imperium have developed." Riza smirked as she handed the card to Ruby.
Ruby looked at the card in wonder as she looked towards Riza. "What does it do?" Ruby asked her buddy.
Riza smirked as she looked at the girl with a red glint in her eyes.
(Thirty minutes later with Yuga, his friends, and the people of Remnant...)
Meanwhile, at a large mall-like structure with an open area in the center, there was a card shop that simply went by the name of "Castle", and inside...
"Eeny, meeny, miney, mo, catch a dragon by the toe." Yuga pulled a card pack off of a shelf in a card shop, then smiled to himself. "Here's hoping we get something good, huh, Garga?" Yuga asked his buddy, who was by his side.
"Indeed, I feel like what's in this pack will provide more cards for us to use in the future." Garga laughed a little after saying that.
"Maybe, but let's not use them on Ruby and Riza, it is their first Buddyfight after all." Yuga said.
Yuga and Garga walked out of the card shop to see his friends and the people of Remnant talking among themselves as Yuga and Garga nodded to each other and ran to meet up with them.
"So you guys have a... Pal-tube channel called the RanGa Channel, and people watch the stuff you do on it?" Cinder asked Ranma.
"Yep, it's actually where people started giving Yuga the nickname of the Ace of Games, what with all the stuff we do on it." Ranma answered.
"And you say you and Yuga made a freaking HOVERBOARD and tried to ride it?" Yang asked.
"Yep, it kinda ended in failure though." Ranma sweatdropped as he finished that last part.
"It's still pretty cool though, I mean, back on Remna-" Ranma quickly covered Weiss's mouth before she could say anything more.
"Can it Weiss, if you mention Remnant in public like that, you could get yourselves in trouble." Ranma scolded her in a hushed voice.
Masato nodded in agreement. "He's not wrong, if people found out about you guys being from another, completely unknown to this one, things may get complicated, at least." Masato said with a hardened expression.
Weiss's eyes widened as she nodded in understanding. "Right, sorry." She whispered.
"So what did Yuga go and do?" Jaune asked.
"I went to go and get some cards that might be useful in future Buddyfights." Yuga's voice answered as everyone turned to see the Ace of Games and Deity of Combat walk up to them.
"Oooooohh, you wanna tell us what it is?" Nora giddily asked.
"So Subaru, Miko, and Ruby will be here soon?" Blake asked.
"They told me they were coming here about ten minutes ago, so there's your answer." Masato told her.
"Hey guys." Ruby's voice exclaimed, as they all turned to see Ruby, Subaru, Miko, and all their buddies walking up to them.
"Wow, you got here pretty quickly." Blake said in response.
"We were able to finish up quicker than expected, so we decided to come here a tad bit early." Subaru told them.
"So, Yuga, you ready for Ruby's first ever Buddyfight?" Miko asked excitedly.
"You know it, are you ready, Ruby." Yuga asked Ruby.
Ruby nodded in confirmation. "Yep, let's do this, how do we start?" Ruby asked him.
Ranma smirked in response to hearing this. "Okay, first off, everyone except for Ruby and Yuga, follow me." Ranma asked as the people of Remnant followed him, Subaru, Masato, Miko, and their buddies away from the open area.
The view would then cut to Ruby looking around her as she later found herself in the middle of an enclosed dungeon-like arena structure with multiple pillars in it while Yuga was facing her on the opposite end of the arena. "Wow, this is amazing." Ruby said in amazement.
"Warp successful." A voice echoed through the arena, causing Ruby to look up, and see a UFO of some variety appear out of nowhere. The top of it opened and out popped a young girl with lilac purple hair tied in pigtails, a black and yellow shirt that was over a longer purple shirt with blue lightning bolts on it, a white color, white cuffs around her wrists, pinkish shorts with a black belt wrapped around them, and while she couldn't see them, she was wearing dark pinkish knee-length socks and black shoes, her most distinguishing feature though was a green visor over her eyes.
By her side in the UFO was a bright pink octopus-like creature with clear white eyes.
"Wherever there's a Buddyfight, I'll be there on the double." The girl stated proudly.
"Huh? Who're you?" Ruby asked.
"Hey there, Ion, glad you could make it." Yuga waved at her.
"Glad to be here, Yuga." The girl. named Ion, responded to her. "As for who I am, I'm Ion Nanana, Buddyfighting Commentator Extraordinaire." Ion introduced herself.
The octopus by her side moved forward. "And I'm Martian UFO, Takokichi, pleased to be here." The monster responded.
"Hey Ion, this is going to be Ruby's first Buddyfight, so try to stay in the background, alright." Yuga asked.
"Alright then, I'll try to be light on the commentary as not to get in the way." Ion told him.
"Thanks." Yuga thanked her.
The people of Remnant and Yuga's friends were standing on a platform overseeing the arena as they saw Yuga talking it up with the commentator. "How do those two know each other?" Jaune asked.
"That would be because Yuga and Ion are actually cousins." Ranma asked.
"Really now?" Cinder asked.
"Yeah, I was thrown for a loop too." Ranma smiled while chuckling lightly.
"Hey, Ruby!" Yuga exclaimed, getting Ruby's attention from the other side of the arena. "Just follow my lead." Yuga insisted as he brought out a gold and black core deck case with a blue core in it.
"The Deity of Combat that links worlds all together... and descends now!" Yuga held his deck case forward and then tossed it up into the air as it became engulfed in a bright light and wrapped around Yuga's left wrist, turning into the same deck case he had used yesterday. "Luminize! Ace Dradeity!" Yuga shouted aloud.
"What just happened?" Weiss asked, confused by what Yuga just did.
"That was Yuga Luminizing his deck, every Buddyfighter does this before the fight officially begins." Miko told her.
"That was AWESOME, and we'll be able to do that too?" Nora asked.
"Indeed, but for now, let's see Ruby Luminize." Subaru told them.
Ruby was shocked at what Yuga had just did as she pulled out her own core deck case, she stared at the core embedded into it as it had her reflection in it, then soon gained a look of determination as she looked to Yuga and smiled.
"The dragon cloaked in brilliant red petals, let your blessings of hope and unity scatter across the world as your followers battle, in your name!" Ruby held her deck case up in the air as it glowed white and wrapped around her waist, turning into a belt with ammo shells on the left side, and an ammo clip on her right side that had the core on it. "Luminize, Draconic Rose Battle Garden!" Ruby shouted similarly to Yuga.
"My my, you've already mastered your luminizing." Riza, who was beside her, said. "So then, let's begin." Riza said, ready for battle.
"Right." Ruby responded.
"Okay then, let's begin." Yuga exclaimed.
"BUDDYFIGHT!" Ion and Takokichi declared, beginning the Buddyfight.
"Time to raise the flag!" Yuga and Ruby exclaimed, the ladder doing so instinctively.
A green and red shield with a depiction of a dragon's head, wings, and body with a spear and sword below them appeared above both players.
"Dragon World!" Yuga declared the name of the world he was using, as six bright cards were levitating in front of him.
"Dragon World!" Ruby did the same thing as she held her hands on her hips as six cards from her deck were doing the same.

"Deity Gargantua Dragon." Yuga held his core deck case up as a card flew out of it, manifesting itself into Garga.
"Deific Dragon Lord of Roses, Riza." Ruby declared as a card flew out of her core deck case and behind Riza, disappearing the moment it got behind her.
Turn 1: Yuga Mikado

"Okay, then. I'll take the first move so that you can get a feel for a turn in Buddyfight." Yuga held his core deck case in front of him as he pulled a card out of it and added it to the cards in front of him. "Draw." He then took a card among them and tossed it over by a duo of larger cards covered in light as it enlarged. "Charge and draw." Yuga declared as he then drew another card.
"I'll start by calling Dolch Gardra to the center position." Yuga took a card from his hand cards and tossed it to the center pillar in front of him.
On the pillar, a large blue sigil appeared and spun around with one card from his gauge flying into it. and then immediately afterwards, a humanoid dragon appeared on the field.
The dragon was white with golden armor that had blue gems on the knees, chest, and forehead, with white long hair on its head alongside a pair of horns, it also had a golden cape and was carrying a black and gold shortsword in his right hand.

"Call upon me, and I shall aid you." Dolch Gardra said on his entry into the field.
"Dolch Gardra, attack the fighter." Yuga ordered.
"As you wish." Dolch Gardra leapt of the pillar it was standing on and ran up to Ruby, leaping across the pillars in the arena to do so. "Face my blade." Dolch Gardra exclaimed as he slashed Ruby, causing her to yelp in surprise as a holographic cut ran across her body.
"AAAAHHHH!" Ruby screamed in shock.

"Huh?" Ruby looked at the cut on her body as it soon faded away. "That didn't hurt?" Ruby wondered.
"Don't worry, pain in this game is only an illusion, so no one gets hurt during a Buddyfight." Yuga told her.
Ruby blinked a little and then sighed in relief. "Thank goodness." She muttered.
"I thought for a moment, I was going to have to throttle someone." Yang sighed in relief as well.
"Yang, he's a kid, and he's been playing the game much longer than us." Blake told her partner.
"That's all for my turn." Yuga declared.
"Yuga takes the lead by reducing Ruby's life points by 2, now is Ruby's turn as all eyes get drawn to her." Ion commented.
Turn 2: Ruby Rose

"Okay, it's my turn, just do it like Yuga." Ruby whispered that last part as she held her hand over her core deck case, which then had a card appear from it, she looked at it and smiled. "Draw! Charge and draw!" Ruby declared as she did the same things Yuga did at the start of his turn, then examined her hand.
"Okay I'll start by doing this." Ruby stated as she took a card from among her hand cards and held it up. "I'll equip an item. Rose Dragon Deity Arms, Rosa-Fearless." The card shined in a bright light and manifested itself in the form of a one-handed sword with a stainless steel blade, a black handle, and a scarlet red guard holding the blade to the handle.

"The card turned into a sword?" Ren muttered.
"That would be an item, it's a way for the fighter themselves to get into the battle." Subaru told them.
"Wow, so even the players themselves have a way to fight here." Neo muttered.
"Next up, I'm going to call a monster." Ruby picked a card from her hand and tossed it to the right pillar. "Blue Rose Sword Dragon, Aioz." The card had a monster sigil appear on the right pillar and a new humanoid dragon appear from it.
The dragon was blue and black in color with red and black armor all over it's body, it had a blue scarf wrapped around it's neck and it's tail had a red and black ring around it. It was also carrying a blue and black broadsword in it's right hand.

"Let us begin the battle." Aioz said.
"When Aioz is called while I have a Rose Imperium card on my field, my gauge and hand cards increase by one." Ruby declared.
Ruby Rose: Life Points: 8/Hand Cards: 4 + 1 = 5/Gauge: 3 + 1 = 4
"Now I'm gonna call Yellow Rose Staff Dragon, Kuixei to the left." Ruby declared as she tossed another card from her hand to the left pillar.
Out of a monster sigil came a yellow humanoid dragon with red and black robes, similar to that of a wizard, it had a yellow ribbon wrapped around a witch's hat on it's head that had horns poking through it. And in it's left hand was a yellow and black wizard staff with a red gem embedded into it.

"It is a privilege and honor to stand here today." Kiuxei stated.
"Now Kiuxei's ability activates, go, Battle Blossom Charge!" Ruby ordered as she raised her Rosa-Fearless up high.
Kiuxei raised her staff up and then drove the staff into the ground below her, and upon doing so, a magic circle appeared below her, transferring red energy from her to Ruby's Rosa-Fearless.
Rose Dragon Deity Arms, Rosa-Fearless (BB Count: 0 + 2 = 2)
"Wow, Kuixei is doing something that appears to be channeling power into Ruby's Rosa-Fearless, what could this mean?" Ion wondered.
"Ruby, what's this Battle Blossom Charge you just mentioned?" Yuga asked his opponent.
Ruby smiled in delight at how her turn was progressing. "Battle Blossom Charges and Battle Blossom Drives, it's a series of abilities unique to the Rose Imperium, by fulfilling certain costs or conditions, I can increase the Battle Blossom Count of a Rose Imperium card on my field by a certain amount, and if the Count reaches a certain number, new abilities are unlocked." Ruby explained, as the red energy dispersed from Rosa-Fearless, leaving its blade wrapped in a crimson red aura.
"Take Rosa-Fearless for example, this item has a Battle Blossom Count of 2 or higher, it's Battle Blossom Drive ability gives it the double attack ability and an extra critical." Ruby said as she leapt onto the pillar in front of her. "Now then, time to attack." Ruby declared, as her two monsters readied their weapons.
"As you command, Ruby Rose." Aioz and Kiuxei exclaimed.
Ruby pointed her item towards Dolch Gardra. "Kiuxei, attack the center!" Ruby ordered.
"As you wish." Kiuxei leapt off the pillar she was standing on and onto the central arena where Dolch Gardra swung at her with his sword, until Kiuxei used her staff to block the sword, then smashed the bottom of the staff into Dolch Gardra's face, making an opening for her to land the finishing blow.
"Perish, for the sin of opposing us." She charged electrical energy in her staff and then swung it like a bat at the opposing dragon monster, sending a red bolt of lightning at Dolch Gardra. "Crimson Bolt Strike." Kiuxei shouted out.
Dolch Gardra cried out in pain as he was struck by the bolt of lightning. "I've failed." Dolch Gardra said in pain before exploding into a burst of orange cards.
"Huh?" Jaune wondered what had happened to the Dragon on Yuga's side.
"That was part of the game, right?" Pyrrha asked, not liking how casual the people of Earth were acting.
"Don't worry, it's just an effect of the game, nothing to worry about." Miko said smiling.
"Yuga's center is wide open." Ion commented.
"And Ruby still has three attacks to make." Takokichi added.
Jaune sweatdropped at that. "If you say so." The blonde nodded.
"Aioz, you're up next." Ruby declared. "Attack Yuga!"
"For the glory of the Rose Imperium, I will strike down all who oppose us, Azure Rose's Falling Saber!" Aioz let out a battle cry as he brought his sword down onto Yuga.
"AUGH!" Yuga cried out as his life points decreased.

"My turn now, Rosa-Fearless!" Ruby swung her item at Yuga.

"I cast, Blue Dragon Shield." Yuga shouted as a shield with a blue dragon's head and yellow wings on the sides appeared in front of him with a blue glow, keeping Rosa-Fearless from hitting him. "I nullify the attack and gain one gauge." Yuga declared.

"Wait, he stopped the attack AND increased his gauge at the same time?" Cinder summed up the effects of the played card.
"Yeah, Dragon World is about usually keeping the center position open to attack with an item having monsters on your side positions attack alongside you." Ranma told them. "And the Dragon Shields are the number one way to defend against attacks and damage in Dragon World." He finished.
"I see." Cinder answered.
"That shield's design looked amazing too." Jaune commented on the design of the card.
"And the radiant blue glow was mesmerizing." Weiss added onto the praise.
Ruby leapt back to her starting position. "That's all for my turn." Ruby declared.
"Ruby finishes her turn by having opened Yuga's center and dealing four damage to him, how will Yuga respond?" Ion commented.

The card Yuga held up then turned into a gold and black sword that had green lines running across the blade.

It also has black brows, black-tipped ears, and a flame styled head of hair. It was wearing a white headband, gold bands on his feet, and gold gauntlets embedded with a green gem.

Yuga pulled out his signature pair of headphones as he put them on, a smile present on his face never fading. "You'd better be ready, Ruby, cause if you aren't..." Ruby tensed up as he continued speaking. "I'm gonna finish this buddyfight this turn." Yuga declared.
"Wow, Yuga makes a declaration of his final turn, what's going to happen." Ion commented.
"He's going to finish it this turn?" Weiss repeated.
"How's he going to do that?" Blake asked.
"Oh come on, it's Ruby's first Buddyfight, why can't she win!" Nora whined.
"Be cautious, Ruby." Riza told her buddy.
"Right." Ruby responded.
"Over to the right, I pay one gauge and buddycall, Deity Gargantua Dragon!" Yuga held up a card, only instead of the card flying over to the right pillar, it disappeared.

Garga then leapt from the buddy zone he was standing on and over to the right pillar, as a gigantic pillar of light blue light shot up from the arena, blinding the people of Remnant.
"What the hell?" Cinder spoke without thinking.
"What is this?" Ren asked.
"That's one bright light." Yang remarked.
Garga appeared from the pillar of light in his true form as his weapons manifested behind him. "All are powerless before my blade!" Garga cried out upon his arrival.

"Let's see what you're made of, Garga." Neo muttered.
"I do wonder what kind of powers he has." Penny wondered.
"Time to attack." Yuga said as Ruby noticeably flinched.
"Kiuxei, move to the center." Ruby ordered.
"I will not let an attempt to harm Ruby break through me without a fight." Kiuxei shouted with her staff pointed forward.
"Garcat, attack the center!" Yuga ordered.
"You got it, Cat!" Garcat leapt off of the pillar it was standing on as he had his claws bared. "Get lost, Cat." He shouted as Kiuxei braced for her defeat.
Garcat swung his claws wildly at Kiuxei as the draconic monster had holographic scratch marks all over her body. "How... humiliating." Kiuxei muttered before being destroyed.
"My turn now." Yuga leapt towards Ruby, with Gar-Buster reared back. "And since a monster on your field was destroyed, Gar-Buster gets one critical." Yuga told Ruby.
"Wait, what the heck is a critical?" Yang asked, confused by the ability.
"Short story is that it's what's used to inflict damage to the opponent." Masato answered.
"And Ruby is gonna take four damage if this attack gets through." Agito told them.
"WHAT?!" Weiss exclaimed in panic.
"Ruby!" Penny began to worry for her friend.
Ruby smirked. "I cast, Green Rose Deity Shield." Ruby shouted as she held up a card, which made a shield covered in green roses appear in front of her with a green light surrounding her. "It nullifies your attack, and increases my life points by two, but if I a Rose Imperium card on my field with an active Battle Blossom Drive, I get four life points instead." Ruby explained.

"Garga, attack the fighter!" Yuga ordered.
"As you wish!" Garga said in response as he launched all of his levitating weapons at Ruby.
"AUGH!" Ruby screamed in pain as the attack hit.

"Alright then, Deity Gargantua Dragon." Yuga pulled a card from amongst his hand cards while another was added to his hand. "Deity G EVO, activate." Yuga exclaimed.
"Change! Gargantua Dragon, "Blast Mode"!" Yuga called out, tossing the card behind Garga as it went into his body.
Garga's weapons flew away and were replaced by a variety of swords, which began to attach to each other and form a pair of even larger swords, they then flew over to Garga as he grabbed them. "Gargantua Dragon, Blast Mode!" Garga let out in the form of a battle cry as his armor changed to a red coloring.

"Deity G EVO. It's an ability where Garga is able to take on different types of fighting styles, in addition to letting Yuga draw a card." Ranma asked.
"It's almost like a class change in a video game or something." Jaune commented.
"There it is, Garga's coveted Deity G EVO! And with Blast Mode called out in such fashion, not only does Garga get an extra critical..." Takokichi intervened in Ion's commentary.
"Garga's attacks can't be nullified, the damage he deals out can't be reduced, and he has the Double Attack ability." Takokichi finished.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" Ruby screamed in panic.
"Garga, attack the fighter!" Yuga ordered.
"As you wish." Garga complied as he soared to Ruby with his swords raised. "TAKE THIS!" Garga shouted as he swung his swords at Ruby, who cried out in pain.

"Double attack!" Garga's card appeared behind him before turning upright and then back to a sideways position, making him swing his swords at Ruby upon doing so.
"Ruby, be careful." Riza cried out.

"Good, he's all out of attacks." Ruby sighed.
"No, look at Yuga." Riza told her, making Ruby look at Yuga, who had a smile on his face.
"Garga, revert, now!" Yuga ordered.
Garga became cloaked in a bright light as he switched back to his normal form. "Now to finish this buddyfight." Garga declared.
"Huh, now what?" Pyrrha asked.
"Garga's able to call his original self from the soul of any of his other forms by paying his call cost." Subaru explained.
"What, but that means that he can attack one more time." Ren noted.
"Garga, strike now." Yuga told his buddy.
"As you wish." Garga responded in kind by launching his weapons at Ruby, aiming to finish off what was left of her life points.
"RUBY!" Ruby's friends called out to her.
"Not so fast!" Ruby pulled a card from her hand and held it out in front of her. "I cast! Stalwart Rose Thorn Barricade!" Ruby said as a cage composed of silver steel wires with rose-like thorns appeared around her, causing the weapons to bounce off of it.

"Stalwart what?" Yuga wondered.
"It's a counter spell that makes it so I don't take any damage for the rest of the turn." Ruby explained, clearing up Yuga's confusion as he gained a look of shock on his face. "Subaru and Miko warned me that you might try to clinch it after my turn, so I had this card waiting in my hand." Ruby told him.
"Looks like the advice we gave Ruby helped out." Subaru smiled.
"Most Buddyfights sadly have a tendency to be this short, but we figured since Ruby's going up against Yuga, she could use all the help she could to make it a bit longer." Miko admitted.
"Wow, Ruby counters Yuga's last ditch effort to take out her life points with a never before seen counter spell." Ion commented.
"But Ruby's only at one life point, how's she going to turn the tables on the Ace of Games." Takokichi added.
"Ugh, and because of that counter spell, my impact won't do anything." Yuga muttered, aggravated by this turn of events. But that didn't stop him from smiling at the fact that Ruby was going to continue the Buddyfight. "I end my turn."
Ruby was panting like a tired-out dog after surviving the onslaught of attacks, she didn't know why, but she felt a smile creeping it's way onto her face. "Man, this is... intense." Ruby said, wiping some sweat off her forehead.
"Haha, that's great, Ruby, it's a sign that you're giving this Buddyfight everything you've got." Yuga told her.
"Huh?" Ruby wondered what Yuga meant.
"Attacking and defending, monsters clashing, spells being cast to even the playing field, it's so exhilarating, right?" Yuga asked Ruby.
Ruby never thought of the game like that until now, but as she thought about it... "Yeah, you're right, it is pretty awesome." Ruby answered.
"Now show me what you've got, Ruby, Riza!" Yuga implored Ruby and her buddy.
"Show us what you can do, Riza." Garga added.
"Alright then." Ruby looked at her right hand. "It's time to finish this." She muttered with determination.

Riza saw the look on Ruby's face, and smiled. "Of course, lets." Riza agreed with a nod.
"Draw." Ruby took a card out from her deck. "Charge and..." Ruby sent a card from her hand into her gauge as she pulled another card out from her deck, she spun around before posing with her right hand outstretched. "DRAW!" Ruby shouted with vigor.
"And Ruby conducts her draw with nothing but conviction to win, but will it be enough?" Ion wondered.
"You can do this, Ruby!" Yang cheered.
"Take them down!" Nora cheered as well.
Ruby looked at her friends and smiled as she saw them all cheering her on.
Ruby looked at the cards in her hand and looked to Riza, who nodded at her. "Time to shine, Riza." Ruby took a card from her hand and held it forward. "I pay one gauge and buddycall to the left, Deific Dragon Lord of Roses, Riza." Ruby declared as the card dissipated.

Riza cried out upon her arrival. "Let me introduce myself properly, I am the deity of prosperity and adaptability, Rizamarsa, the leader of the Rose Imperium, is on the scene." Riza declared.

Ruby then said, pointing at Yuga, before taking a card in her hand. "I cast the spell, Prosperous Rose Energy." Ruby announced.
"What does that spell do?" Yuga asked.
"Stay alert." Garga warned him.
"It's effect requires me to pay 1 life while Riza is on my field, but it lets me draw two cards, and get two gauge." Ruby explained.

"Now I cast another spell, Blossom Drive Transmission." Ruby held up another card from her hand. Ruby explained as Rosa-Fearless turned into a ball of light, which then went over to Riza as Riza slammed her palms onto it as red sparks coursed over her body.

"And that's not all..." Ruby smirked.
"If the receiver of the transfer was me specifically, Ruby draws one card and gets one gauge." Riza added.
Ruby pulled one card from her deck as a light flew out of her deck case and into her gauge, she then looked at the card she drew, and her eyes widened. "This is..." Ruby muttered.
"Ruby." Riza got Ruby's attention. "Let our power and end this Buddyfight." Riza said with a nod.

It was a one handed sword, held in Ruby's right hand, with an inner blade that was black, and an outer edge that was crimson red, along with a handle that was just as red.

"Right." Riza responded as one card from Ruby's gauge flew into Riza's hand. Riza then crushed it as red energy flowed through her body. "May my gift, as the god of Prosperity, shine upon us." Riza shouted as the energy from her body went over to Ruby's Rosa-Saber and to Aioz.
"This gift, may it be what gives us victory." Aioz shouted.
"Riza's Battle Blossom Charge increases the Battle Blossom Count of ALL my Rose Imperium cards by three until the end of the turn." Ruby declared.
"ALL OF THEM?!" Yuga exclaimed in shock.
"BY THREE EACH?!" Garga added to the shock.

"Time to attack, you guys." Ruby told the monsters in her field.
"RIGHT!" Aioz and Riza responded.
"If Ruby can't finish off the rest of Yuga's life points this turn, she'll lose." Weiss noted.
"But how is she going to get rid of nine life points in a single turn?" Jaune asked.
"Don't worry." Subaru reassured them. "If one of Ruby's smiles from earlier wasn't an indication, I think that she has everything set up right now." The Ace of Study told them.
"Seriously?" Cinder asked.
"Indeed, Ms. Fall." Cross confirmed.
"Yeah, me and Subaru helped her in making that Dragon world deck after all, so she probably has one of those cards in her hand right now." Miko said with a smile on her face.
"One of 'those' cards?" Nora repeated.
"Just wait and see." Subaru said in response.
"Garga, move to the center." Yuga ordered.
"Right." Garga complied as he soon disappeared from Yuga's right pillar and reappeared on the pillar in front of Yuga. "I refuse to let you harm Yuga." Garga shouted defiantly.
"Wanna bet." Ruby and Riza said together as a card from Ruby's hand cards disappeared.
Riza clapped her hands together and formed a lance made of red lightning and held it with her right hand. "Your soul's power is useless against mine, Crimson Lance BUSTER!" Riza tossed the lance at Garga, impaling him, but not without making one of his soul cards appear behind him and shatter.
"What?" Garga exclaimed in confusion.
"It's Riza's Battle Blossom Drive 7 ability, by dropping a card in my hand..." Ruby said as Riza spoke up.
"I can send all the cards in the soul of one monster on your field to the drop zone." Riza finished.
"You're joking." Yuga hoped against hope.
"Aioz, attack Garga." Ruby ordered.
"Right away." Aioz leapt from the pillar he was on and jumped towards Garga. "And now for my Battle Blossom Drive ability." Aioz exclaimed.
"Now you lose one life point and a card in your hand." Ruby said.
Yuga grunted as he held up a card from among his hand cards as it shattered, along with his life points decreasing as well.

"Fall by my blade, Azure Rose's Falling Saber." Aioz shouted, as he brought his sword down onto Garga.

"GARGA!" Yuga shouted upon seeing his buddy destroyed in one attack.
"Our turn, Riza." Ruby leapt towards Yuga with Rosa-Saber raised. "Rosa-Saber... SLASH!" Ruby cried out, swinging her item at Yuga.

"And with Rosa-Saber's Battle Blossom Drive ability, it has Double Attack." Ruby said as she slashed at Yuga again.

Blake gasped as she looked at Yuga's life points. "Yuga only has four life points left." Blake said.
"And Riza has a critical of 2 and the Double Attack ability." Miko added.
"If either of Riza attacks land..." Neo droned on as Yang, Nora, and Penny chimed in with glee in their voices.
"SHE'LL WIN!" They all cheered.
"Yuga is in a do or die situation now, what's going to happen?" Ion asked no one in particular.
"Riza, go now." Ruby ordered.
"Understood." Riza leapt at Yuga as red lightning sparked in her hands, soon forming itself into a pair of red blades of lightning. "Double Energy Blades." Riza shouted as just when she was going to hit Yuga with her swords...
"I CAST! DEITY GREEN DRAGON SHIELD!" Yuga shouted as a green and yellow shield with a dragon's head on the front appeared between him and Riza with a bright green glow accompanying it. "I nullify the attack and gain three life points." Yuga said as his life points increased.

"NO!" Yang panicked as she saw Yuga's life points.
"That's not good." Nora said as she was grasping her hair.
"Dang, Riza, go for Garcat!" Ruby ordered.
Riza's swords slashed through Garcat as he cried out in pain. "Sorry, Yuga, I'm out." Garcat apologized before disappearing from the field.
"With Yuga barely grazes by with a defense spell, Ruby suddenly redirects Riza's double attack to Garcat, has Ruby's fighting till now been all for naught?" Ion asked.
"It wasn't." Ruby's voice answered.
Riza looked at her buddy. "Ruby, time to end this." Riza said.
"You got it." Ruby said with a nod.
"With words like that..." Ranma said.
"Does that mean?" Destroyer muttered.
"Are you going to..." Yuga asked before Ruby and Riza looked at each other with a knowing look in their eyes.
"FINAL PHASE!" The two rose-themed buddies shouted together as Ruby held up a card in her right hand, only thing was... she was holding the card horizontally.
"Unbelievable! Ruby has declared her Final Phase, will this mark the end of the line for Yuga?" Ion wondered.
"I pay three gauge, and cast..." The card Ruby was holding, shined bright with a red light as the arena disappeared around her and was replaced by a barren wasteland.
All of the sudden, a large sigil appeared behind her as Riza flew above it, and a large black and red cannon with neon red lights and three red cores on the left and right sides of the cannon's outer barrel, while a large gun trigger and hammer were at the back of the cannon.
Riza floated down to the trigger and pushed the hammer forward, causing an immense amount of energy to start charging up in the cannon as the cores shined brightly one by one. Riza then grabbed hold of the trigger as a holographic targeting screen appeared in front of her, depicting Yuga in the center of a targeting reticle on the screen.
Ruby smirked as she was standing directly next to the cannon. "Impact! Crimson Cannon..." Ruby slammed her left foot forward as she thrusted her right fist forward. "Blossoming..." Riza pulled the trigger, causing the cannon to fire a gigantic black and red laser beam at Yuga. "DECIMATOR!" Yuga looked at the oncoming laser, and smiled with a look of acceptance on his face.
The laser tore apart the land that Yuga was standing on as a giant explosion followed, causing the wasteland to go back to the arena to go back to normal.

Ruby had a dumbstruck expression on her face as she was trying to process what had just happened, but when it finally hit her that she had won the Buddyfight, she soon smiled with a sparkly look in her eyes.
"Yes, I won, I WON, HAHAHA!" Ruby jumped with joy as Riza approached her in her SD form, getting Ruby's attention. "That was amazing, I can't believe I actually had such a fun time playing a card game like this, and I couldn't have done it without you, Riza." Ruby said, calming down from her victory.
"Congratulations, Ruby, but it was your leadership that won us this battle. With the use of your cards and quick thinking, we'll do great things in the future." Riza told her while raising a fist up to Ruby. "I believe humans call this gesture of celebration... a fist bump." Riza said.
Ruby smiled once again and responded in kind by bumping her fist against Riza's.
"Now that's how you finish a Buddyfight." Agito said, punching the air.
"Indeed, that was quite the impact card Ruby used." Cross said with a smile.
"I'll say, I had an idea of what it would be when I saw it, but I didn't think it would do all that." Miko said, resting her head on her hands.
"So, what do you all think of..." Ranma was going to ask the people of Remnant, until he saw them.
They're entire bodies were completely pale white with their jaws dropped and eyes blank, even Ren and Cinder were in the same state.
"Did Ruby just..." Weiss continued where Blake ended.
"Summon a giant cannon..." Ren and Jaune did the same together.
"Of mass destruction..." Yang picked up where they left off.
"And actually fire it at Yuga?" Nora, Cinder, and Neo then asked the question that was on all of there minds.
"WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!?" They shouted in complete confusion.
"Oh right, we've only alluded to it up until now." Ranma said sweatdropping.
"That was an impact card, a variety of card that's meant to deal a large amount of damage to the opponent." Subaru told them.
They looked at Subaru as if he'd grown a new head. "And that can involve firing a large cannon at them?" Cinder asked.
"Actually, that's an type of impact that's never been seen before, but there are types that involve doing something more than just that." Ranma explained.
"Like WHAT? Chucking a tornado at them, or shooting an arrow of cosmic energy at your target?" Nora asked, dumbfounded that these kinds of cards actually do things on this scale.
Masato and Subaru looked at each other, and then to the people of Remnant before smiling coyly. "Come on, we have to meet Yuga and Ruby down at the bottom floor." Subaru told them as the people of Earth made their way down to the bottom floor, with the people of Remnant looking at each other before following.
All while Cinder was thinking about Ruby's impact card. "That strength, the severity of the damage it could cause." Cinder replayed the sight of Ruby's impact in her mind over and over again. "If Salem could get her hands... no, if I could get MY hands on such power, I'd be so powerful and feared, I'd be unstoppable." Cinder didn't show it, but she was sinisterly smiling inside. "Maybe there's more to this card game than we once thought, and more to this world at that." She said to herself.
However, Cinder was dragged out of her thinking when she felt herself falling, she was so stuck in her thoughts she didn't see the stairs ahead of her, causing her to trip and fall down the stairs until she hit the Bottom floor with her face. "Owww..." She managed to squeak out as everyone looked at her with a cringe on their faces.
"Ouch." Yang winced from the sight.
"That's gonna leave a mark." Nora muttered.
"Oh my gosh, Cinder, are you alright?" Pyrrha asked as she rushed down the stairs to help her, with Neo following her.
Cinder pushed her face off the ground in pain as she responded. "Not exactly." Cinder uttered in pain.
(After Cinder was picked up off the ground and Yuga and Ruby met up with them...)
"Well, I was thinking that we could maybe hang around the mall for a little bit, but I guess with Cinder in her current state, you guys should probably get back to Subaru's place." Yuga said awkwardly as he scratched the back of his head.
"Awww man, I really wanted to see what this mall had in it." Ruby whined.
"Don't worry, we can come back tomorrow, remember, I'm going to get my deck tomorrow, so I guess I'll be having my Buddyfight here as well." Weiss told her.
"Indeed, but for now though, we all should probably help Cinder back to my home." Subaru suggested.
"That would be very appreciated." Cinder responded.
"Welp, let's head on back then." Yang said, turning around and wrapping her arm around Ruby.
"So Ruby, how do you feel about winning your first ever Buddyfight." Masato asked Ruby.
"It was amazing, I've never felt anything like the rush of adrenaline that Buddyfight gave me." Ruby told him.
"I hope that when I get my deck, I can feel ten times the rush you felt." Nora hoped with her arms stretched upward.
Penny looked at Ruby talking amongst her friends and smiled. "I wonder if someone like me can-" Penny paused for a moment as she sensed something.
She turned to her left and looked upward at the edge of the mall's ceiling, a puzzled look appeared on her face as she was confused as to what she felt. "Was somebody just..." Penny droned on until Garga's voice caught her attention.
"Polendina?" Penny turned to see Destroyer floating up to her. "Is there something amiss?" The resident of Lost World asked.
"Oh, sorry, just ummm... saw a very interesting shop." Penny improvised an answer, letting out a hiccup immediately afterwards. "Oh, pardon me." Penny said holding her hand to her mouth.
"Very well then, let us be off." Destroyer said as he and Penny followed the group.
Unbeknownst to all of them, a figure wearing a black cloak was holding a camera in their hands was spying on them and was overviewing what was on the camera, which happened to be footage of Yuga and Ruby's Buddyfight, and the footage was paused at a moment where Riza was increasing the Battle Blossom Count of Ruby's cards during the final turn of the fight.
She put her right index finger up to an earpiece she had in her ear and spoke up after a beep was heard. "I got the info, returning to base." the cloaked figure spoke in a feminine voice, revealing her to be female.
She looked over the footage she had collected one more time, focusing only on the footage of Ruby and Riza fighting together. "Soon little rose..." She whispered as she looked at a frame of Ruby thrusting her fist forward for her impact. "Soon." She said with a smile before she held up a card cloaked in golden light and opened a portal in front of her before walking in.
The portal then closed as nothing was left behind while a faint breeze was heard blowing by.

Okay, so... things have admittedly been rough for my update schedule, whether it'd be me looking for a new job, or my sense of laziness, all I can do right now is pray that you all like this story and the direction that it's going in at the current moment, I really want to continue this story, really I do, but it's just that I have to find the correct timing to do so, even if all I have as an excuse is because I wanted to think about how I want to go about it.
So my next chapter update for my stories as a conjoined response, is that my next one will be RWBY Movies: Watching RWBY Chronicles, followed by RWBY x Dragon Quest: Huntsmen of Erdrea, and then a special project that was given permission to see the light of day by The Multiversal Writer himself, right here on .
