It was during Art class, their teacher, Midnight, put them in pairs.

Momo smiled, happy about having Toru, her girlfriend, as her partner for the exercise.

At least until Midnight explained what they needed to do. "Take a very deep look at the person in front of you. All of you have until the end of class to draw them. Do it however you want, using any style or technique, just let your creativity fly!"

It was then Momo realized something; beyond her nice medium-length hair, she didn't know how Toru looked like.

Momo wanted to slap herself for such carelessness, but she never had felt the need of knowing Toru's appearance. Momo loved her for how vibrantly energetic and kind she was. So even if Toru was invisible, she was the prettiest girl in the world for her.

"Hey, Momo-chan," Toru's understanding voice interrupted her musings, "you don't have to pressure yourself so much. I'm aware with me, there's not much to paint." She was trying to sound unaffected, but Momo wouldn't get fooled so easily.

"Toru," she muttered.

The invisible girl was one of the nicest people she knew, but some of their classmates had problems seeing beyond her cheerfulness. Yes, Toru was a happy and optimistic person, but she was also troubled and self-conscious about her appearance and inability to turn off her Quirk. Having her existence passing unperceived weighed heavily in her mind, despite her best attempts to act otherwise

"It's fine!" said Toru. "I will draw you mega-gorgeously to make it up for boring little ol' me!"

It spoke highly of Toru that she never took it out on her friends, knowing they didn't mean any harm when they didn't notice her presence, but Momo couldn't just allow herself to perpetuate that behavior, not when she loved Toru so dearly.

It would be perfect if she had enough time and knowledge to create something to gaze at Toru's true appearance, but with that not being a possibility, she would take a more traditional approach.

"No way… I'll draw you and I will do it properly!" Surprising Toru with her intensity, Momo shifted her chair closer. "But for that, I need to… e-examine you first." Her cheeks blushed.

"You d-don't need to…" Toru waved her arms in obvious embarrassment

She interrupted her, grabbing her hands gently. "But I want to. Can I, Toru?"

After a moment, Toru inched closer, giving her silent approbation.

Slowly, she reached for Toru's head and touched her hair. It was really soft and silky, a true shame she couldn't see it. However, it didn't take much for her to notice it was a lot shorter than she remembered.

"You cut your hair," Momo muttered.

"A-ah, yeah. Midoriya-kun told me about this crazy girl from the Support Department that could make me an actual costume using my hair! If everything goes right, it should be ready for next week!"

"You didn't mention it," she pouted.

"S-sorry, Momo-chan! It's just, my hair is so short now, it was kinda embarrassing to talk about it."

It was short indeed, like a boy's cut. However, Momo found it endearing in someone as girly as Toru. "It's not that bad." She closed her eyes, imagining Toru's short hair just floating there. Now, she only needed to get her facial traits.

"I'll t-touch your face now. Close your eyes and try not to move, okay?" She heard Toru swallow, before nodding slightly.

Momo deepened her concentration, trying to ignore everyone else in the room. At that moment, just Toru and she mattered. Little by little, she moved her fingers over Toru's warm face. Taking her time to capture all the details; Toru's soft skin, long eyelashes, cute little nose, plump lips, and the heart-shaped face that framed all.

Momo opened her eyes, and while Toru was still invisible, she could almost see her; the picture in her mind overlapping with reality. "You are really cute, Toru."

"You a-are so unfair, Momo-chan." Huffing, Toru looked away.

She smiled.

She did have the most beautiful girlfriend.
