For Jiro Kyoka's birthday (1st August). A bit late, but finally here!
THE PERFECT BIRTHDAY.
August, 1rst. Technically, it would be a day like any other, but not for Momo.
For her, it was the furthest to a normal day anyone could imagine.
Because after almost a year, all her planning would come to fruition. But despite her confidence, there was still the deep illogical fear that something could go wrong at the last second.
She sighed and pulled herself together. "No way! I'm going to make sure Kyoka-chan has the best birthday ever!" she said, feeling invigorated.
"Can you be quieter, kero, I'm trying to sleep," said her floormate, making her flinch.
"Don't be mean, Tsuyu! It's adorable how eager is Momo to please her girlfriend," answered Mina, and she could also hear Ochako's giggles, from the floor below.
Momo just pouted, her cheeks red, and went to sleep. Tomorrow would be a busy day.
Next day…
Kyoka had a very regular routine on weekends. Unless she planned to do something or go somewhere in particular, she slept in until midday.
Even on her birthday, she intended to do the same if possible, but her dear Momo wasn't going to let that happen. The heiress had been planning to throw her a birthday party for months already. Technically, Kyoka wasn't supposed to know about it, but Momo was endearingly bad at keeping secrets.
"Kyoka-Ojou-sama? Are you awake?" said Momo from outside the room.
"How did you call me…?" she mumbled while rubbing her eyes, still half asleep.
While she had some bed hair, her nightclothes were presentable enough, so she went and opened the door. On the other side, stood Momo, her hands beside her back and her expression serious despite the blush in her cheeks.
"Good morning, Kyoka-Ojou-sama!" Momo gave her a deep bow. "I want to congratulate you on your special day!" The honorific she used made more sense now, considering the maid outfit the taller girl was using.
It was the perfect balance between something cute and sexy… Though Momo looked cute and sexy in pretty much anything she wore.
Kyoka could only stare. Once she managed to process the situation, she cleared her throat. "Give me a sec."
"Eh? Wait-"
Kyoka closed the door, sighed deeply, and then jabbed her side with her jack as hard as she could. She clenched her teeth not to yell. "N-Not a dream. Alright..." A second later, she opened the door again. "This was Mina and Toru's idea, right?" she asked.
Momo nodded, looking flustered. "They said you would like it."
She did. And she was going to hug them and then kick their asses the moment she got the chance.
"Anyway, Kyoka-Ojou-sama, this is your first present, on this glorious day." Momo brought her hands forward, revealing a medium-sized gift that Momo put into her hands. "Well, you should open it, Ojou-sama."
"Now?" Momo nodded with a confident smile, as knowing Kyoka would love whatever was inside. "Also, you seriously d-don't need to call me like that." She took off the ribbon and the wrapping paper very carefully, considering how expensive they looked she felt bad about breaking them. Then, she finally took off the lid.
There were clothes inside, but not just any clothes. It was the same purple dress with black accents that Kyoka had paid a lot of attention the last time they went on a date. It managed to be both elegant and cute while keeping that rock aesthetic she loved so much.
That was definitely a point for Momo. She loved the dress. "You didn't need to-"
"I wanted to. Happy birthday, Kyoka-chan." Momo got closer and sealed the deal with a kiss. It felt like butterflies making a huge party inside her stomach. "W-well, we are making your guests wait enough, Ojou-sama. I'll be outside while you change," Momo said, smiling in amusement.
She probably had a silly expression. Needing to recover some terrain, she faked boldness and said, "d-don't maids are supposed to help their master to change clothes or something?"
Momo turned beef red, her expression the funniest and cutest thing Kyoka had seen ever. "E-eh, I need to change too, so I'll see you in a moment!" The girl ran out of the room.
She smirked. "Silly, Yao-Momo."
When Momo re-appeared in a well-fitting black dress, Kyoka almost suffered a heart attack.
"You look very cute, Kyoka," her girlfriend said in utter joy, seeing her in the amazing purple dress.
She averted her gaze in embarrassment. "Y-yeah, you too." How did she get a girlfriend so amazing, again? Ah, right, they were both a couple of badasses/dorks.
As they walked out of the Dorms, she noticed how empty the building was.
"As I said before, everybody it's waiting for us," Momo explained. Just in front of the gate, outside the campus, there was a limousine waiting for them. An outrageously and unnecessarily long limo.
"Did I exaggerate?" Momo asked with an awkward smile.
Kyoka snorted, looking at her girlfriend with a fond smile. "Do you think?"
The answer was obvious when the full ride lasted less than a minute. Their destination was a large establishment only a couple of squares from UA.
"Seriously, Yao-Momo?" she asked again, her smirk more powerful than before.
"W-we should be going," Momo rushed. She followed her, past the guards by the door.
At first, the lights were dim, but as they stepped inside, the room was illuminated. All their dear classmates were there; besides their closest teachers; the members of Class 1-B; and even her parents and Momo's, looking especially pleased about them arriving together.
The decoration, the music, and everything else were perfect.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY!" They all roared at the same time.
"Y-you all are so noisy," she said, trying not to sound as touched as she was. "You really did a spectacular job, Yao-Momo." She looked at her girlfriend, wanting to kiss her right there.
"Everything for my fiancé."
She smiled at Momo until her words finally registered. "F-FIANCE?!" Momo took her hand gently and their gazes connected. All her nervousness evaporated instantly. "T-that sounds perfect."
Best birthday ever!
