Hisashi Midoriya stared at his boss in horror. "B-but you promised me that I could transfer back to Japan after the end of this year. Y-you promised." He hated how his stutter leaked back into his voice during times of stress. Even years of speech therapy hadn't helped.
His boss barely glanced up from his computer. "We need you in America for another year. You understand, I'm sure." He used the same brusque tone as when he bullied Hisashi into working unpaid overtime and rejected his time off requests.
Hisashi's eyes filled with tears. He'd been away from Japan for too long. He craved his beloved wife's cooking and her arms around him. He'd only been able to watch his darling son's school events over video. He missed his family every single day. Seeing Izuku break his bones during U.A.'s Sports Festival had given him nightmares. The dreadful events at Kamino's Ward had been the final straw. Even if Hisashi was terrible at standing up for himself, nothing could keep him from his son's side when Izuku was injured. "Then I quit!" His voice wobbled. He ran out of the office.
As soon as he made it to the hallway, Hisashi had a panic attack. His heart pounded and his breathing became strained. The world blurred. He staggered into the men's restroom and muffled his sniffles with his suit sleeve.
When he could move again, he called his wife. "Inko, I-I quit my job. I can't believe I just quit my job. Should I go beg them to take me back? What am I going to do?"
"It's about time." Inko's voice was both firm and loving. "They treated you terribly, Hisashi. We have enough savings to live off while you find another job. Come back home."
Hisashi burst into tears of happiness. "Thank you! I want to come home! I want to see you and Izuku again!"
Within minutes, he'd booked the first flight back to Japan on his phone.
When Izuku dropped his wallet during training, he had no idea the chaos he'd invited into his life with that simple mistake.
All Might bent over and picked up the wallet, which had fallen open to reveal a photograph. "My boy, here's your—" His mouth froze. All color drained from his face. "I-is that your family?"
"Yes." Izuku held up the family picture so All Might could look more closely. "Here's my mom, here's my dad, and here's me, age ten. You've never met my dad, have you? He works in America. Want to see some more pictures of him?"
All Might turned even paler. "Young Midoriya, you should sit down. I have something very serious to tell you."
Though confused, Izuku obeyed.
All Might sat on the bench next to him. "All for One is your father."
Whatever reaction All Might had expected, it wasn't Izuku breaking out into peals of laughter.
"Nice joke, All Might." Izuku wiped a tear from his eye.
"I understand it may be hard for you to believe. But I would know that face anywhere. I've seen it in my nightmares for years."
"Are you serious?" Izuku looked at him with a raised eyebrow. "Even if there's a passing resemblance, that doesn't make them the same person."
"Those eyes…" All Might whispered. "I'd never fail to recognize those eyes…"
"Didn't you rip off All for One's face?"
"And then your father transferred to America!" All Might said as if offering proof.
"But he still videocalls me almost every day. He's got a face."
"He could be using a quirk."
Izuku sighed. "All Might, I would know if my dad was All for One. He can't lie if his life depends on it. He has no backbone. Ask him to eat wasabi. He will, even though it makes him cry."
"All for One? Crying?" All Might sounded as if the concept was foreign.
"Dad is an even bigger crybaby than me or Mom." Izuku laughed. "He once cried for three straight hours because he accidentally stepped on a spider. We had to take him to the hospital for dehydration."
"I had no idea All for One was such a good actor."
"When I was in kindergarten, my dad came to pick me up from school and saw a bully hitting me. When he tried to defend me, the kid punched him in the crotch and then stole his wallet. Dad legitimately got beaten up by an elementary schooler."
All Might asked, "Was that boy the same childhood acquaintance of yours with red wings who got turned into a Nomu?"
By some coincidence, it was, but admitting this would not help Izuku's case. Instead, he said, "My dad recently decided to return to Japan. Once you meet him, I know you'll believe me."
All Might took a moment to compose himself. In a serious voice, he said, "Young Midoriya, I just want you to know that this changes nothing about how I feel toward you. You're the most worthy successor that One for All could ever have, no matter who your father is."
"I can't believe you would even accept me if my father was your worst enemy. That means so much to me. Thank you!" Izuku smiled through watery eyes. "But seriously, All for One isn't my father. My dad is Hisashi Midoriya."
Slowly, as if explaining a difficult concept, All Might said, "Hisashi Midoriya is All for One."
Izuku groaned and put his head in his hands.
As soon as Hisashi got off the plane in Japan, the strange events started. As he walked toward baggage claim, a flight attendant looked at his face, then whispered into her phone.
Hisashi smiled at the woman. She whimpered.
As he waited for his bag, he noticed people giving him a wide berth. Even though there was a thick crowd, an airline employee shuffled people away if they got within an arms' reach of him.
Hisashi sniffed his jacket. It had been an overnight flight, so he smelled a little sweaty, but nothing to warrant this reaction.
A man in a blue suit approached him. "Sir, your limousine is ready."
"Excuse me?" Hisashi looked around, but this stranger appeared to be talking to him.
His bag rolled around on the conveyer belt. Hisashi lunged for it, but the man moved faster.
"Please, sir, let me carry it." The strange man took his suitcase and started walking away.
"I-I-I—" Curse his stutter! Unable to speak, Hisashi hurried after his vanishing luggage.
Somehow, Hisashi found himself sitting inside a limousine. After several tries, he finally cleared his throat. "I believe there may be a misunderstanding concerning my identity. My name is Hisashi Midoriya."
"Understood, sir. I'll remember your cover name."
Hisashi lapsed into confused silence.
As the limousine pulled to a halt, a young man with white hair and cracked skin ran up and opened the car door so fast he decayed the handle. "Sensei! You escaped from Tartarus! You even healed your face, too. You look much better with your hair and eyes back. I'm so happy!"
"Huh?" Hisashi asked the universe at large. This stranger had hands sticking all over his body and one clinging to his face. Those had to be fake, right? Was this a Halloween costume? In the middle of the summer, though? Maybe a cosplay? Hisashi didn't follow the latest popular manga and anime.
The unfamiliar young man's lips peeled back into a wild and manic smile. He hugged Hisashi. Hisashi hugged him back, because it would be rude not too. He tried to avoid touching the severed hands.
"Sensei! I've been trying so hard to conquer Japan for you!" The weirdo babbled.
Hisashi started to feel concerned. "That's nice." He patted the stranger on the back. "Look, I need to get home to my wife and son—"
"YOU HAVE A FAMILY!?"
"Ah, yes." Hisashi pulled out his wallet, which contained copious pictures of Izuku and Inko. He switched into doting father mode by habit. "Aren't they both so adorable?"
As the stranger looked over the photos, his expression became increasingly angry. He scratched at his neck. "Those damn heroes. They took Izuku away from you, didn't they?"
Hisashi let out an awkward laugh. "I guess. All the kids want to become heroes when they grow up, right?"
The white-haired young man raised a clenched fist. "I'll bring Izuku back to you no matter what!"
"Oh my, how nice of you," Hisashi said. Despite being a strange one, maybe this young man wasn't so bad. Perhaps he would lend his car so Hisashi could return to his family.
"First, we need to come up with a plan." The stranger dragged Hisashi into the building.
In the void, Banjo held up a picture taken from vestige All Might's memories. "Everyone! Look at this!"
The vestiges crowded around. A mixture of gasps, hisses, and curses came from them as they examined the family photo.
Yoichi rolled his eyes. "Everyone, calm down. That's not my brother. The two of them just look extremely similar."
Banjo slapped Yoichi on the back. "First, you scamp! No wonder you favor Izuku so much. Nepotism, eh?"
"I do like Izuku, but he's not my nephew. Because that's not a picture of my brother," Yoichi said wearily.
Banjo stared at him. "But it is?"
En whispered to Nana, "Why is he still trying to hide it at this point?"
"I think he's in denial," she hissed back.
Yoichi rubbed his forehead. "I know the physical resemblance is uncanny, but his mannerisms and expressions are completely different. It's just a coincidence. Haven't you heard that everyone has at least one doppelgänger in the world?"
Cautiously, as if afraid of poking a delicate subject, Hikage said, "All for One is a very good actor."
"He could play the part of a caring yet commanding savior in order to sway minions to his side. But he could never in a million years manage that stunned bunny expression." Flicking through the captured memories, Yoichi pointed at the picture of Hisashi with his mouth hanging slightly open. "He's even crying in one of these pictures. My brother would legitimately die—or more likely commit murder—before he let anyone photograph him crying. Big brother never had that mole on his neck either."
"A mole would be easy to fake," Nana pointed out.
"I get that, but as I keep saying, that's not him. I can just tell the difference. It's a matter of instinct." Yoichi winced under the skeptical glares. "Come on, could you ever picture my brother making this cute and adorable expression?" He gestured at another photograph of Hisashi smiling while holding a kitten.
"I can picture it! Because I've seen it on Izuku's face!" Nana cried.
A murmur of "Oooo" ran through the crowd.
"Izuku looks so much like All for One," Hikage muttered. "How did we never see it before?"
Yoichi said, "Izuku looks like his father. Hisashi Midoriya. Who isn't All for One."
En paced. "Nineth's personality is so similar to All for One, too."
Yoichi stared. "Exactly how do you think a ray of sunshine is similar to Japan's greatest villain?"
"They both like quirks," En said.
"More than two people in the world like quirks!" Yoichi cried. "Loads of people like quirks! I like quirks!"
En clapped his hands. "Another point in common!" All the vestiges moaned in terror.
Yoichi rubbed his forehead. "Calm down, everyone. This conspiracy theory is getting out of control. You're all being ridiculous. Why would my big brother pretend to be an ordinary Japanese salaryman?"
This launched a heated debate. Banjo cried, "He fell in love and hid his criminal past!"
Hikage snorted. "All for One? Bullshit. He probably produced a child as part of a genetic experiment."
En muttered, "What if it was a one night stand, then he did damage control after the pregnancy?"
"Do you think he cares about the kid or just plans to use him?" Nana asked with concern.
"I doubt All for One is capable of love." Hikage sighed. "Poor Nineth was probably created to be used as spare parts."
En tapped his chin. "I don't know, he can be pretty obsessive." He carefully didn't look at Yoichi.
"Why hasn't he done anything in all the time that Izuku has held onto One for All?" Banjo asked.
Nana's eyes widened. "He's planning an elaborate trap to make Izuku give One for All to him! We have to warn Toshi!"
"Everyone, listen to me!" Yoichi threw up his hands. "None of this is relevant, because Hisashi Midoriya is not my brother." His gaze fell on the Second One for All user. Another person who'd communicated with All for One outside the battlefield and thus should be able to tell the difference. "Back me up here, hero."
His face solemn, the Second walked over to Yoichi and put his hands on his shoulders. "I understand that this is a difficult truth for you to swallow, and I'm here for you."
"Even you?" Yoichi's scream echoed through the void. "HISASHI MIDORIYA IS NOT MY BROTHER!"
Hisashi flinched away from the young man who had revealed himself as Tomura Shigaraki while catching his sensei up on his latest activities. Tomura had listed off a truly appalling number of crimes while casually apologizing for nearly decaying Izuku, claiming that it wouldn't happen again. Hisashi felt faint.
Tomura peered at his face. "Sensei? What should I do next?"
Hisashi said, "I think you should immediately go to the authorities, confess all your crimes, and turn yourself in."
Tomura frowned. "Is that your plan for getting Izuku back?"
Hisashi wanted to cry. But he thought of his lovely Inko and adorable Izuku, waiting for him to come home. He summoned all his courage. "Yes. Yes, that is my plan." Because if this nutjob would finally leave, then he could escape.
Tomura nodded. "I understand, sensei! I won't let you down! I'll go gather the entire League of Villains to turn ourselves in as part of your plan to infiltrate Tartarus." He stood up and marched out of the room.
Hisashi picked up his suitcase and headed home to his family.
OMAKE TIME!
Omake: Bad Ending
Hisashi: Why do you have a hand over your face?
Tomura: That's Father.
Hisashi: Ha-ha, an heirloom from your father. I suppose it's understandable why you'd keep that around even though it's so strange looking. Almost like a real human hand.
Tomura: It's my father's hand that I took off his corpse after I murdered him. Did you forget, sensei? Sensei?
Hisashi: (Faints dead away.)

Omake: RIP Katsuki
Izuku: I finally found you, Kacchan. Please explain to All Might that All for One can't possibly be my father. You've met him. You know how impossible that would be.
Katsuki: Your dad? That guy who hides behind the sofa every time I come over to your house just because I set his hair on fire once when I was four?
Izuku: Yes, exactly!
Katsuki: I defeated All for One before I even started elementary school! This is so awesome. Hey everyone, gather around so I can tell you who Izuku's father is! Bring the whole school for this big news!
Izuku: Kacchan, this is it. You've finally crossed my line. You versus me, right here and right now. Only one of us is walking away from this fight.
#
Omake: RIP Shouto
Izuku: Shouto, at least you believe that All for One isn't my father, right? You'd never give up your beloved conspiracy theory about me being All Might's lovechild.
Shouto: Hmmm. What if both All for One and All Might are your fathers? Quirks can do amazing things.
Izuku: Hissssssssssssssssssssssssss.
Shouto: Are you feeling all right? Your teeth are gnashing in a very distressing manner, and now you're reaching for my throat, AHHHHHHHH SOMEONE SAVE ME!

Omake: The Defeat of All for One
Tomura: Hi, sensei! I turned myself in to the police as you ordered. What's the plan now we're in Tartarus together?
All for One: Tomura, you moron.
Tomura: Hmm, if your face is still gone, does that mean that man wasn't you? But he looked exactly like you! Here, check out this picture.
All for One: What a bizarre resemblance from a totally unrelated random civilian. Forget Tomura, I'd rather break out of jail and steal this guy's body instead.
Tomura: How could you toss me aside like cheap trash, sensei? Screw you! You can't fire me, I quit!
Izuku: ENTERING FERAL MODE TO ELIMINATE THREAT TO BELOVED FATHER.
All for One: (Dies.)
Later, at the celebration party in the Void:
Yoichi: Now will you all admit that Hisashi Midoriya isn't my brother? Because All for One is dead and Hisashi is clearly alive.
Banjo: You're right! Oh no! He faked his death!
Nana: Everyone, stop celebrating, All for One is still alive!
Yoichi: I'm so done with all of you.

Omake: The Even Crackier Alternate Ending
Izuku: Uh, Dad? How did you become the head of the League of Villains?
Hisashi: I don't know! People just kept coming up to me asking me for orders, and it seemed too rude to refuse them!
Izuku: Only you would end up head of a criminal empire because you can't say no to anyone. At least the league has been much less troublesome ever since you switched them to community service work.
Meanwhile, in Tartarus:
All for One: Hey, why is no one showing up to break me out?
