Hello, everyone !

I'm back with the eleventh chapter :D

I hope you enjoy reading it !

Disclaimer: I only own Haru Heartfilia and the plot

Lucy had just finished putting on Haru's clothes when her phone vibrated. She picked it up and raised an eyebrow upon seeing an incoming message from an unknown number.

Meet me at the bar downstairs. Need to talk.

Need to talk…?

Who sent this message?

Lyon?

"No way." Lucy softly muttered at herself, denying her own suspicions.

"Mommy." Haru called out sleepily and yawned. This would be his first night sleeping on this hotel's bed. "Haru's sleepy."

"Mommy's coming, sweetie." Lucy was about to ignore the weird message when her eyes saw the additional initials below.

S.E.

Lucy raised an eyebrow. S.E…?

Her eyes then widened as a realization hit her.

S.E.

Sting Eucliffe?!

How the heck did that guy get her number?!

Lucy automatically glanced at Haru who had climbed up to the bed already. If this message was really sent by Sting, then the thing he would want to talk was most likely about…

Lucy's temples pounded in irritation. After refusing to take responsibility and literally walked away since four years ago, now that guy wants to talk about his son?

Lucy dialed a number. "Hello, Levy-chan?"

"What is it, Lu-chan?" Levy asked from the other side of the phone.

"Can you company Haru for a while tonight?"

"No problem, but… Why?"

"I need to go to somewhere."

"Where?"

"Where are you going, Mommy?" Haru also asked.

Lucy smiled at her son. "Just somewhere nearby."

"O…kay…" Levy was somewhat suspicious and doubtful, but she didn't want to pry. "I'll be at your room in five minutes."

"Thanks a lot, Levy-chan." Lucy thanked her best friend and hung up.

"Mommy, where are you going?" Haru had crawled towards the end of the bed and gently tugged her mother's hair. "Aren't you going to sleep with Haru tonight?"

"There's an urgent matter that Mommy has to take care of, sweetie." Lucy gently patted Haru's hair. "You can sleep first with Auntie Levy, okay?"

Haru softly nodded. "Are you going to be late tonight?"

Lucy shook her head. "I'll be back before you woke up."

"Okay." Haru nodded. "Be careful, Mommy."

Lucy kissed her son's forehead and tucked him into the bed. When Levy came into her room, Haru was already fast asleep.

"I'm going, then." Lucy put on her shoes and walked out of her room.

"Be careful, Lu-chan." Levy waved back.

Lucy gently closed the door and walked away. So, the guy wanted to talk? Fine, she'll give him the talk!

Sting was already waiting for her at the bar table. When Lucy arrived, he was drinking alone. Without any hesitation, Lucy walked over to him.

"How did you get my number?" Lucy didn't bother to say hello to him and got straight to the point.

"Oh, you're here." Sting let out a small smile. "Have a seat. What do you want to drink? My treat."

"No need. Just answer my question." Lucy refused but still sat down beside Sting.

Sting chuckled. "Guess you're not in the mood for some pleasantries?"

"No. Not with you." Lucy flatly replied.

Sting chuckled again. "I got your number from my manager, I asked him to find for it."

"For what?"

"To talk." Sting shrugged. "Since you're a reporter, it wasn't that hard to find your number."

"Talk about what?"

"I guess we both know already what I want to talk about." Sting retorted.

Lucy raised an eyebrow. "What? Now you start caring?"

"About that?" Sting scoffed. "No way."

"That?" Lucy hissed. "You dare calling him 'that'?"

"Wow, you're as dramatic as your cousin, huh." Sting chuckled. "Don't tell me you're as hypocritic as she is too."

"Hypocritic?" The corner of Lucy's eyes twitched in annoyance. "What gives you the right to judge my cousin like that?"

"Isn't she?" Sting sipped his whiskey. "She was so stubborn in keeping that back then, even choosing to break up with me without a slight hesitation. She seemed so ready to raise that all by herself. And yet, she ended gave it away to her cousin instead. If that's not a hypocrisy, then I don't know what term could explain it."

"Stop with 'that', 'that'!" Lucy growled. "He has a name, you know!"

Sting rolled his eyes. "Fine. The kid. It's a much better term, right?"

"You know, I'm so glad Yukino broke up with someone as jerk as you." Lucy hissed.

"My words exactly." Sting scoffed back. "I won't have to put up with a hypocrite like her."

"Stop calling her that!" Lucy fisted her hands. "You have no idea what kind of a person Yukino is! Not when you're the one who made it clear to her that you want to walk away!"

"Is that what she told you?" Sting's eyes narrowed. "I gave her a choice to stay with me, but she's the one who chose the other option!"

"Because you refuse to take responsibility!"

"I've told her I can't!"

"Have you ever thought about her feelings when you gave her those choices?" Lucy asked. "How deep her guilt would be if she chose to abort her own blood and flesh?"

"Hah! Guilt?" Sting mocked. "At the end, she gave her baby away to you! What part of that is guilty? That's exactly why she's a hypocrite!"

"I said, stop calling her that!" Lucy growled.

"Why? It's the truth, isn't it?" Sting said. "She's the one who looked so determined to be a mother and raise her kid, but she's also the one who abandoned him!"

Lucy gritted her teeth. Unable to hold her anger anymore, she whisked Sting's glass away from his hand and slapped the whiskey towards his face.

"Damn it!" Sting hissed and wiped his face. "What the hell is your problem, woman? Your cousin is a hypocrite and yet you want to keep defending—"

"She's dead!" Lucy huffed in anger. Thank goodness the bar was filled with music and it was rather empty. At least, she could get mad at the jerk in front of her without being too mindful to her surroundings.

Sting's body stilled.

Dead…?

Yukino…

She's dead?

"She died giving birth to your son, you ungrateful jerk! That's why she entrusted her son to me!" Lucy growled. "And yet, you have the audacity to call her a hypocrite? Get a mirror!"

Sting's jaw tightened. Yukino died giving birth?

"You have no idea what she'd been through after you two broke up, so don't you dare badmouthed her!" Lucy angrily said. "You have no idea what sacrifices she had to make to bring her son into this world! You weren't there during the darkest moments in her life, so STOP ACTING LIKE YOU DO UNDERSTAND HER!"

Lucy shouted her last sentence, causing Sting to be in a complete silence.

She sighed heavily and rubbed her temples. "Just tell me what do you want now with Yukino's son. You're looking for me to talk about that, right?"

Sting bit his inner cheek, his fists were unconsciously fisted below the bar table. "I don't want to be hold responsible for that—him. Not four years ago, not now, not ever."

"Don't worry." Lucy scoffed. "Even if you're crazy and suddenly saying that you want to take care of him, I won't hand him over to you. He's my son, now."

Sting's fists tightened.

My son…

"And don't worry about me telling him about you, either." Lucy coldly said. "I will take the secret to my grave and will do everything I can to make sure he doesn't know."

Sting raised an eyebrow. "I thought it's better for children to know who their birth parents are?"

Lucy scoffed. "It depends on who are their birth parents. Besides, it's Yukino's request, too. She didn't want her son to know who his birth parents are."

"Yukino's…?" Sting's eyes slightly widened.

Why would Yukino request something like that?

Lucy slightly nodded. "She said she didn't want her son to know the painful truth behind his birth and she want her son to grow up knowing I am his real mother."

Pain stung Sting's heart and he lightly scoffed.

Painful truth, huh?

"So, there's no need for you to worry." Lucy folded her arms in front of her chest. "Just focus on your band."

Sting stared back at Lucy in silence. She was so hostile towards him, but even he could feel her love towards their son. He could see how ready she was to protect and to raise him. Maybe this was the reason why Yukino entrusted their son in Lucy's hands.

"I see." Sting softly muttered. He then stood up and held out his hand. "Then, I guess we have an agreement?"

Lucy stared at Sting's outstretched hand and whipped her head away. "Yes."

Sting retracted his hand and pushed it into his pockets. "Alright. Then, that's all. I'll be going."

"I hope we won't meet ever again." Lucy spitefully said.

Sting coldly smiled. "That's what I intended to do."

He then walked out of the bar, without sparing another glance at Lucy. Lucy stared at his back in anger and disgust.

"Bartender! One glass of sherry, please!" Lucy ordered.

The bartender poured a glass of sherry for her and Lucy drank it in one gulp. She clenched her glass so hard, anger was boiling inside of her. That jerk! How come someone as sweet as Haru had that jerk's blood flowing inside of him?! He didn't even look a bit sad when he learned of Yukino's death!

What a heartless irresponsible jerk!

But little did Lucy know, that once he was out of the bar, Sting's knees buckled and he fell down onto the floor.

"Yukino…" Sting muttered and couldn't stop tears from rolling down. "Yukino, I'm sorry… I'm so sorry… Yukino…"

Sting quietly sobbed and kept calling for his dead ex-girlfriend. Even after they had broken up, Sting hadn't completely moved on yet. He truly loved Yukino and she held a special part in his heart. A part that could never be replaced by anyone else.

And that part of his shattered tonight.

Gajeel picked up his ringing phone and smiled a bit upon seeing who was calling him. He quickly answered the call. "Yo, Shrimp."

"Gajeel, is Natsu there?"

"Yeah, he's beside me." Gajeel raised an eyebrow. "Why are you looking for him?"

"Lu-chan's hasn't come back yet!" Levy said, her voice sounded a bit panic. "She's gone for two hours and this is almost midnight! I'm getting worried, Gajeel."

"Hold on." Gajeel said, then he looked over at Natsu who was strumming his guitar beside him. "Natsu, did Lucy contact you?"

"What? No." Natsu said. "Why do you ask?"

Gajeel put Levy on speaker. "Shrimp, I turned on the loudspeaker. Tell Natsu what's wrong."

"Natsu, I think there's something happening to Lu-chan!" Levy said.

"What? Why?"

"She told me she's going somewhere nearby, but she still hasn't come back. She's gone for two hours already! I'm getting restless."

Natsu put his guitar down on the sofa and stood up to wear his jacket. "Did she tell you where she'd go?"

"No, but her staff pass is here." Levy said. "Without her pass, she can't return to this private hotel, so I think she's still somewhere in the hotel."

"Have you tried calling her phone?" Gajeel asked.

"I did, but she didn't pick up! Now, her phone is turned off. I think her phone's battery is dead." Levy's voice turned anxious. "Oh, Gajeel, what am I supposed to do? I can't leave Haru alone here."

"Calm down, Shrimp." Gajeel said. "You just stay there to take care of Haru."

"I'll go look for her." Natsu said and put on his hood. "If she's still here in the hotel, it shouldn't be too hard to find her."

"Thank you, Natsu." Levy breathed in relief. "Please tell me once you've found her."

"Will do." Natsu agreed.

"We'll help." Gray offered once Gajeel had hung up.

"Nah, no need. Give me time." Natsu said. "If I still couldn't find her in 10 minutes, then I'll call you for help."

Gray nodded. "Good luck, Natsu."

Natsu grinned and stepped out of their hotel room. He took a look at his watch. Since it's almost midnight now, there aren't many places in this hotel that are still opened. The pool is definitely closed, the restaurant is most likely too. The possible places he could think of are the recreation room and…

The bar.

Natsu quickly made his way there. As he thought, the bar was still opened although there weren't many people there. Well, since this was a private hotel,—exclusively for Fired Up! and Saber Lamia, along with all of their staffs—there weren't many people to begin with.

"M—Miss, I think you should stop."

The bartender's flustered voice caught Natsu's attention. He quickly turned his head over to see and his eyes caught the sight of a familiar blonde who was sitting on the bar table alone while gulping down her drink.

"Lucy!" Natsu walked over and quickly stopped her hand from pouring herself another glass. "Hey, stop!"

"Oh, don't stop me!" Lucy hissed in annoyance, her face was half red due to the alcohol in her system. "Don't you know how pissed off I am with that irresponsible heartless bastard?!"

"Who are you talking about?" Natsu asked confusedly.

"That!" Lucy pointed randomly in anger. "That guy who dared to put my dear cousin into misery and walked away from it! That. Heartless. Irresponsible. Bastard! Argh, I hate him so much!"

"Whoa, okay, you're drunk." Natsu quickly pushed the liquor's bottle away before Lucy could take a hold on it. "Come on, I'll take you back to your room."

"No!" Lucy said. "I have to drink out this anger of mine because of that bastard! Give me my sherry back!"

"Okay, time to go." Natsu readily pulled Lucy up from the stool she was sitting. He asked the bartender for her bill, paid it off, then dragged her out of there.

"No!" Lucy tried so hard not to leave. "Let me go! I still want to drink!"

Natsu was actually half amused with her drunk behavior, but he knew he couldn't let her stay there. But since she was being difficult, Natsu decided to drag her in a different way. He placed his hands firmly below her knees and on her back, then carried her bridal style in one swing.

"Let me go, you jerk!" Lucy struggled. "I won't let an irresponsible jerk like you—oh, wait. You're not that blond haired jerk."

Natsu stifled a laugh seeing how Lucy squinted her eyes to recognize him, while his brain was processing her words. That blond haired jerk? Who was she talking about?

"Yes, yes, I'm not that blond haired jerk." Natsu said. "Now, stop struggling. You're going to fall."

"It's fine if you're not that blond haired jerk." Lucy half humming. "I'm fine with anyone except that blond haired jerk. Even my ex is still a bit better than that blond haired jerk."

"Don't mention him." Natsu lowly growled. "What did you see in him, anyway?"

"My ex, you mean?" Lucy asked back. "Well, you see, he's a handsome one!"

"What part of him is handsome?" Natsu gawked. "You can clearly see how average his face is!"

"Hey! Don't say his face is average!" Lucy protested. "My heart skipped a beat when I saw his face, you know! Although of course if you were to compare him with him, then he would totally lose."

"Who are you comparing your ex to?" Natsu asked. "Which one would lose?"

"My ex, of course!" Lucy said. "Compared to him, my ex is average, just like you said."

"And… Who are you comparing your ex to?" Natsu repeated.

"Natsu Dragneel!" Lucy giggled, while blushing a bit. Natsu didn't know she was blushing or not, because her face was already red due to the alcohol.

But Lucy's words made Natsu's heart started to race. He also realized that currently, Lucy isn't recognizing him. She was just seeing him as someone-else-apart-from-that-blond-haired-jerk.

An amused smirk made its way to Natsu's lips.

Should he take this opportunity and used the most of it?

Well, his gut feeling was screaming 'YES!', and who was Natsu to refuse believing it?

"So… You're saying that this Natsu Dragneel is more handsome than your ex?" Natsu started.

Lucy quickly nodded a few times. "He's hotter and kinder than my ex, too! And most importantly, he loves my son dearly."

Natsu's gaze softened. Lucy really loved her son like a real mother would, even though she was actually his aunt. Natsu was sure her cousin was glad she left her son in Lucy's hands.

Lucy suddenly laughed bitterly. "You must think it's weird for someone as young as me to have a son already."

"No." Natsu instantly replied. "I've never thought like that since the first time I met you."

"Since the first time you separated me from my sherry at the bar, you mean." Lucy corrected. "But why didn't you think it's weird?"

"Well, everyone has their own life story, right?" Natsu said. "And I don't think we can judge someone's life story. We don't know what truly happened and even if we do, we're not the ones who had to live it through. Besides, what's so wrong with having a son? I think having a child is the greatest gift in life."

Lucy's gaze softened. "You're just like Natsu."

"I am?" Natsu amusedly smiled.

"You are." Lucy said. "You are kind and understanding. Not only that, but you have the same voice as him. I like his voice. It's so cheery that it could lift my mood up, and yet so gentle and deep. It comforted me a lot whenever I listen to his voice. Hey, your hair and eyes are even the same color as him!"

Natsu raised an eyebrow. Yes, he didn't wear any disguises because this was a private hotel. But judging from her words… Had Lucy finally sobered up?

Lucy suddenly giggled. "But there's no way you're him, though. He didn't even know I went to the bar."

Natsu inwardly chuckled. Clearly, she was still drunk.

"Why were you at the bar, anyway?" Natsu decided to prob.

"To meet that blond haired jerk." Lucy pouted.

"If he's that of a jerk, why would you meet him?" Natsu asked again.

"Because I need to give him a piece of my mind!" Lucy said. "I haven't had the chance to teach him a lesson, so when I finally got it, I couldn't just let it go!"

"Was that blond haired jerk your ex?" Natsu asked, although he remembered that Lucy's ex had a bluish silver hair. What was his name again? Lyon, was it?

"No." Lucy shook her head. "I won't ever have a blond-haired guy as my boyfriend!"

"Thank goodness I'm salmon haired." Natsu muttered under his breath.

"That blond haired jerk is my son's birth father." Lucy sighed.

Natsu's hands tensed. Lucy was meeting with… Haru's birth father?

"You see, my son isn't my real son." Lucy said. "He's actually my cousin's son, but my cousin died giving birth to him. I've promised her that I will raise my nephew as if he is my real son, though. I've never thought that one day—wait, where is this?"

"This hotel's yard." Natsu smiled as he placed Lucy down on a bench. Because Lucy was too drunk, Natsu decided to take her to somewhere she could breathe in some fresh air. Natsu decided that it wouldn't be too good for Levy, even more, Haru, to see Lucy came back drunk. Natsu quickly took out his phone and sent a message to Levy, then sat down beside Lucy.

"Oh, this feels nice." Lucy's face felt much cooler with the night wind.

Natsu took of his jacket and draped it over Lucy's shoulder to keep her warm.

"Thank you." Lucy hugged the jacket tight. "Mmm… This jacket smells like Natsu."

Natsu's heart beat faster and he couldn't stop his cheeks from blushing. Why does Lucy look so cute when she was drunk?

"This is so much better if only I didn't meet that blond haired jerk earlier." Lucy complained. "Thanks to him refusing to take any responsibility when he found out that my cousin was pregnant with his child, my cousin was left to be by her own. If he didn't want to have a kid, then he shouldn't have done it in the first place! Not only that, but he had the audacity of saying my cousin is a hypocrite?! He didn't even look sad when I told him that his ex-girlfriend is dead! He didn't even flinch when I told him that the mother of his child is gone! And even after knowing all that, he still refused to take any responsibility for his son! He didn't even ask for his name, damn it! That jerk is the biggest jerk of all jerks!"

Natsu's hands unconsciously fisted. How could someone be so heartless towards others?

"And the funny thing is, that blond haired jerk is now the bandmate of my ex." Lucy scoffed. "The same ex who broke up with me because he too didn't want to take the responsibility of raising my son. They should start making a club of jerks."

Wait, Haru's birth father was Lyon's bandmate? A blond-haired man…

Natsu's eyes widened as he remembered seeing a blond-haired man with Lyon earlier. If he remembered it correctly, that blond-haired man's name was…

"Sting…?"

"Yes!" Lucy suddenly said. "Yes, that's his name! Thank goodness my cousin named her son Haru Heartfilia and not Haru Eucliffe! I don't want my son to carry that jerk's family name!"

So, that man is Haru's birth father.

"But the good news is, that jerk won't try to take Haru away from me." Lucy breathed in the fresh air in satisfaction. "I don't know why my cousin still loved him despite everything he had put her through, but I guess that's her way of loving someone whole-heartedly."

"Loving someone whole-heartedly, huh…" Natsu mumbled.

Silence then fell between the two of them. Lucy closed her eyes, silently enjoying the night breeze. A few minutes later, she opened her eyes again and look to her side as she sensed someone else's presence.

"Natsu?!" Lucy called out in surprise. "What are you doing here? Wait… Where am I?"

"You've sobered up?" Natsu stifled his laugh upon seeing Lucy's confused and flustered look. Her face wasn't as red as before and her gaze seemed to be more focused.

"How did I get here?" Lucy wondered. "I think I was in the bar just earlier…"

"You must have come out here to get some fresh air." Natsu lied, decided to keep the memory of how Lucy acted while she was drunk to himself.

"Right…" Lucy muttered. "Then… Since when are you here?"

"Just now." Natsu shrugged. "I've been looking for you and found you here."

"Looking for me?"

"Levy's worried because you haven't come back yet."

"Haru!" Lucy gasped and took out her phone. "I need to call Levy-chan—damn it, my battery's dead."

"I've told her I found you." Natsu placed his hand on top of Lucy's. "Haru's safe with Levy, Luce."

The feeling of Natsu's hand over hers made Lucy's heart suddenly somersaulted. His hand was so big and warm…

"Maybe, we can use this time to talk about that?" Natsu offered.

"What…?"

Lucy's breath hitched as Natsu inched closer towards her. Their current proximity instantly reminded her of how close they were back then in her kitchen.

Lucy feared her heart would leap out of her chest.

"This." Natsu repeated.

"N—Natsu…"

"I've told you I'm not playing with you, right? Do you remember that?" Natsu's voice became low and husky, the type of voice that melted Lucy's entire being.

Lucy could only nod, her voice was busy squealing inwardly.

"Do you trust me, Luce?"

Lucy didn't need to think twice to answer the question. She looked up at him, staring back at his dark green eyes. "Since the very beginning."

Natsu smiled in relief and gently rubbed Lucy's cheek. His hand that was on top of hers moved, intertwining both of their fingers on the bench while he closed the gap between them.

Both of them felt like they would melt.

And at the same time, they both wondered how things between them reached this point.

They were strangers that started off as friends. Maybe the spark had always been there, right from the start. After all, one was a very hot young lad and the other one was a very enchanting young lass. And all of the time they had spent together lit up the spark, turning it into a blazing fire. Fire that exuded warmth that neither one wanted to stay away from.

But none of this would have happened if it hadn't been for Haru.

He was the spring that bloomed between them, the spring that nurtured their feelings, the spring that brought the two of them together.

The kiss was nothing more than just placing their lips against each other's. But it made both of their hearts beat so hard, they feared they would pass out due to the abnormal beat.

Natsu shifted his head away a bit, although their foreheads were still on each other's. None of them said anything, simply because they didn't need any words. They still couldn't place what they felt towards each other in words, but they knew they couldn't stop their feelings from growing even bigger.

Natsu lightly chuckled and pecked Lucy's forehead. "Let's get you home."

Lucy could only nod, her face was bright red and her heart wouldn't calm down at all. Natsu helped her to stand and that was when everything became black for her.

The alcohol and the kiss were too much for her.

Lucy softly groaned and opened her eyes upon feeling a barrage of kisses on her cheeks.

"Haru…?"

"Good morning, Mommy!" Haru stopped his morning kisses and grinned.

Lucy's consciousness came back and she bolted upright, careful not to let Haru fell down. She looked around, noticing she was in her hotel room although she was lying on the sofa.

"Where's Auntie Levy?"

"Mommy's late last night." Haru said. "Auntie Levy left after Mommy came back."

"Oh. I see."

"Mommy, why did you sleep outside?" Haru tilted his head. "Natsu-nii-chan brought you back because you were sleeping."

"Natsu…?" Lucy's eyes widened, a certain memory of last night came back to her.

"Mommy, why is your face so red?" Haru asked again. "Are you sick?"

"N—No." Lucy muttered. "Where's Natsu?"

"Still sleeping." Haru pointed towards where the bed was. Lucy could see a tuft of salmon-colored hair that peeked out of the blanket. Her ears caught Natsu's soft breathing.

"Sorry, Haru." Lucy apologetically smiled at her son. "Mommy woke you up yesterday night, right?"

Haru nodded. "But Haru quickly fell asleep again because Natsu-nii-chan slept with me."

"Natsu… Spent the night here?" Lucy widened her eyes again, before scoffing towards herself. "Of course he did, stupid. He's right there on the bed."

"Mommy, Haru's hungry." Haru patted his stomach.

"Mommy will make you breakfast." Lucy got up from her sofa and walked towards the mini kitchen. Lucy glanced at her watch and gasped. "Haru, please wake Natsu up! He needs to get ready!"

"Okay!" Haru carefully flopped down from the sofa and ran towards the bed.

Lucy quickly made three sets of breakfast, while her ears caught the sound of Haru's giggling and Natsu's laughing. She unconsciously smiled upon hearing it.

"Morning." Natsu greeted as he walked over while carrying Haru.

"Morning." Lucy greeted back, automatically blushed when she saw him because she remembered their kiss last night. She cleared her throat and turned off the stove. "Okay, place Haru down. Let's eat. You need to get ready for your stage."

"We still have plenty of time, though." Natsu chuckled.

"Better be early or Loke will chew your ears off." Lucy chuckled back. "Along with mine too, perhaps."

The three of them sat down and started to eat their breakfast, except for Haru. He just stared at his egg.

"Haru?" Lucy stared at his son confusedly. "Why aren't you eating?"

"Mommy, Haru's been thinking." Haru replied.

Lucy chuckled upon seeing Haru's cute serious expression. "Okay, tell Mommy what you've been thinking about."

Haru looked up at his mother. "Mommy, can't Natsu-nii-chan be my daddy?" And before Lucy could even processed what he said, Haru turned his head to face Natsu. "Natsu-nii-chan, would you be my daddy?"
