(A/N: Last time, our heroes ended up having to face off against their biggest and strongest baddie yet, possibly ever. Now it's time to see how things are actually going to go down against the overwhelming powerhouse that is Millenniummon. Wish our heroes luck, because they're going to need it... simply to survive.)

Chapter 165: Unstoppable

They had gone up against tough odds before, many of which seemed impossible, but as they charged towards Millenniummon, they were overcome by a sense of foreboding the likes of which they had never felt before, not even when facing off against the Demon Lords.

Millenniummon, for his part, didn't even react as they came towards him. His eyes shifted from one to the other, but he made no attempt to even move. The DigiDestined circled around him, finding numerous openings, but no sign that the composition Digimon was even going to try to defend himself.

"He doesn't even see us as a threat," Susanoomon remarked.

"Then let's change his mind," said Imperialdramon. "Super Positron Laser!"

His beam blasted against Millenniummon's nose, and the composition Digimon's gaze shifted to him, but otherwise, he made no attempt to even move, making Imperialdramon gulp nervously. "Uh oh. Um… Everyone blast him! Giga Crusher!"

"Giga Fire!"

"Final Justice!"

"Glory Thunder!"

"Air Sefirot Crystal!"

"Hallowed Ascension!"

The attacks blasted against Millenniummon in a series of explosions. The composition Digimon didn't react at all. It was as if the attacks hadn't fazed him in the least.

"That didn't do anything!" Gallantmon exclaimed. "What's this guy made of?"

Boltboutamon threw his head back and laughed. "Far tougher stuff than you."

Omnimon threw a glare at the demon Digimon before returning his attention to the battle. "Ignore him. Everyone, use your strongest attack."

"Should have done that right from the start," Susanoomon grumbled as he produced his giant weapon. "ZERO-ARMS: Orochi!"

"Hyper Prominence!"

"Crimson Light!"

"Holy Destroy!"

"Strike of the Seven Stars!"

"Fearsome Blade!"

Like before, the attacks bombarded against Millenniummon, creating a massive explosion that completely consumed the composition Digimon. Omnimon swung his Fearsome Blade, bringing it down on the cloud of smoke that had engulfed Millenniummon.

A hand shot out of the cloud of smoke, catching the blade and holding it in its grasp. The smoke dissipated, revealing the composition Digimon, seemingly undamaged. Omnimon's energy blade remained trapped in his grasp, and the knight Digimon ceased the flow of energy protruding from his sword. "Damn it. Graceful Cannon!"

He fired a beam. It should have tore straight through Millenniummon, but instead only blasted against him. This attack too didn't seem to harm the composition Digimon, but he let out a roar that seemed to be a battle cry.

"Oh, crap," Imperialdramon muttered.

"Heat Viper!" Millenniummon cried.

A beam fired from his mouth. The DigiDestined in its path flew out of the way, narrowly getting hit. The beam struck the canyon wall, tearing through it as if it wasn't even there. And when the beam died down, the part of the canyon it had collided with had completely disintegrated, leaving a perfect path straight out of the canyon.

"Yikes," said Gallantmon. "Glad we didn't get hit by that."

"Yes, but we hit him with our best attacks," Ophanimon C exclaimed. "And I don't think we hurt him all that much, if at all. How did the Guardians manage to beat him when he was ZeedMillenniummon?"

"By hitting him harder still," said Susanoomon. "Let's see how he handles this. Celestial Blade!"

Holding his ZERO-ARMS: Orochi out to the side, his massively long energy blade emerged from the weapon. With a loud cry, he swung the weapon at Millenniummon. The composition Digimon's gaze shifted to the incoming blade, and at the last second, his two physical arms on his left side came up and grabbed the blade.

Susanoomon grunted as he pushed to no avail. Millenniummon squeezed the blade, and it burst into light particles. Then the ghostly dragon emitting from his back suddenly rose up and stretched out, growing in size as it blanketed the entire area, covering the top of the canyon and keeping the DigiDestined confined in its walls as Millenniummon stretched out his four physical arms.

"What's he doing?" Seraphimon wondered out loud. "Trying to trap us here?"

"Looks like it," Omnimon replied.

"Dark Nail!" Millenniummon cried, and began unleashing blasts of electric energy from his hands.

The DigiDestined scattered as bolts flew all about. They were indeed trapped within the confines of the canyon walls with Millenniummon's ghostly dragon form draped over the top of it, preventing them from flying out.

"You're right, he's trying to close us in," Ophanimon C realized. "Volcano Napalm!"

She threw fireballs beneath Millenniummon, and they erupted into pillars of fire. That got a reaction out of the composition Digimon, but not the kind she expected as he simply stepped on the pillars of fire as if they were nothing more than water leaks he was plugging up with his foot.

"Ultimate Fusion!" he cried, firing a ball of black energy.

Ophanimon C gasped as the attack came at her, thinking she was about to experience the same fate as Mastemon, only noting a moment later that this attack had a different name from his Time Ultimate attack he had used on the angel Digimon. Realizing that it was probably pointless, she used her Unicorn Shield to block the incoming attack, only to have the black sphere explode before it even reached her.

The energy from the blast flowed over her, and suddenly everything around her was moving at several times normal speed. She wasn't aware of it, but it was now she who was moving in slow motion while everything else appeared to be moving in super speed.

Cruel laughter escaped Millenniummon as he directed the electric blasts he was still unleashing towards her. Ophanimon C kept her barrier up as a bolt came at her while she tried to avoid it, but her movements were very slow due to the affects of Millenniummon's Ultimate Fusion attack. There was no way she would be able to avoid it, and with as powerful as the composition Digimon had already proved to be, she didn't think she would be able to deflect the attack.

"Kari!" Omnimon shouted, tackling into her. He managed to push her out of the way of the attack, but the incoming bolt struck one of his wings, and it burst into data. The knight Digimon cried out as he and Ophanimon C crashed to the ground.

"Ooommmnnniiimmmooonnn!" Ophaimon C exclaimed, her voice coming out slowly and drawn out.

Millenniummon sneered as he finally stopped unleashing electricity and took a step towards the fallen Digimon. Seraphimon flew in front of his face to try and get his attention, firing his Hallowed Knuckle at Millenniummon's eye, drawing his gaze.

"If our attacks aren't strong enough to harm him, then we'll just have to make them stronger. Justice Genome! Now try this. Strike of the Seven Stars!"

He repeatedly fired his attack at Millenniummon's face as he flew around his head, keeping the composition Digimon's attention on him. His attacks didn't seem to be doing anything, but they did keep Millenniummon's focus on him rather than Omnimon and Ophanimon C.

"Hang on, you guys, I'm here," said Susanoomon as he landed beside them. "I can fix this. Status Barrier!"

He held his hand over Ophanimon C, pouring his power over her. Her time returned to normal as her status disorders were cured.

"Thanks," she told him appreciatively. "That was weird. Can you help Omnimon too?"

A sigh escaped the god Digimon. "Unfortunately, no. My Purification is a self-healing ability."

"Don't worry about it," the knight Digimon replied. "I can still fly with one wing; don't really need them to fly anyway. Honestly, I'm lucky that that's all I lost." He looked up at Millenniummon as their friends proceeded to fly about while attacking. "Damn him, he's just toying with us."

"Seraphimon had a point though," said Susanoomon. "Let's amplify our attacks' power and see if that does anything. Gladiator! Now, let's see if this does anything."

With his power amplified, he flew at Millenniummon, flying right past Imperialdramon, Gallantmon, and Seraphimon. Using his Texture Blow, he delivered a punch to Millenniummon's nose, hoping to trap him in a pixelated form the same way he had to OmegaArmamon.

Nothing happened. The pixilation traveled over Millenniummon's body, but he remained as he was. Truthfully, Susanoomon wasn't surprised, even after having increased his power. "Yeah, bad idea. Should have known that he was too strong for that to work."

From up above, the ghostly dragon portion of Millenniummon reached down. Swiping at Susanoomon, he sent the god Digimon flying through the air and crashing into the canyon wall so hard that he formed a deep crater, burying into the rock so far that he was no longer visible.

"Enough of this," Imperialdramon shouted. "It's time for some close encounters. Omni Sword!"

His sword glowed with power, and he flew at Millenniummon. The composition Digimon looked up at him as he approached. Gallantmon and Seraphimon assisted, firing their Royal Saber and Strike of the Seven Stars from different sides of Millenniummon. The two attacks collided in front of the composition Digimon's face, the blast obscuring his vision. A few seconds later, Imperialdramon came bursting through the cloud of smoke, stabbing with his sword.

His body froze. He hovered in place in the air, his sword mere inches from Millenniummon's face. The composition Digimon's eyes glowed as he used his telekinesis to hold Imperialdramon in place.

"No," the dragon Digimon growled as he tried and failed to move. "That's not fair."

A cruel, mocking chuckle escaped Millenniummon before he mentally flung Imperialdramon away. Then his ghostly dragon came down from covering the top of the canyon and settled back in place above Millenniummon.

"Cannon Fire!" he cried, angling his body before he began firing a barrage of fireballs from the cannons on his back up into the air.

It was like something out of a video game, where falling fireballs came raining down from up above if the player stood for too long and they had to keep moving their character to avoid them. Only it wasn't a video game. Giant fireballs dropped down from up above, exploding when they hit the ground. Omnimon and Ophanimon C rejoined the others in the air, the former flying a little lopsided as they tried to avoid the fireballs.

"They're everywhere!" Gallantmon exclaimed as he swerved through the air.

"Don't worry about dodging them," Imperialdramon told him as he fired his Super Positron Laser at the falling fireballs. "Just blast them."

Suddenly, moving at speeds too fast to see, Millenniummon suddenly charged at Imperialdramon. It was as if the composition Digimon had teleported, suddenly appearing in front of Imperialdramon at speeds too fast to see, causing the dragon Digimon to pull back in surprise. One of Millenniummon's hands shot out, and Imperialdramon was slammed into the canyon wall. A snarl escaped the composition Digimon as he brought his ugly face close to Imperialdramon.

"Time Warp!" he cried, and tore a hole in reality, ready to send Imperialdramon to another timeline in an alternate dimension.

"Gungnir!" Gallantmon cried, throwing his spear of light.

"Inferno!" Omnimon cried. Continuously firing his cannon.

"Call Dramon!" Ophanimon C cried, summoning forth her dragon, who proceeded to breath fire on Millenniummon.

The portal to the alternate timeline/dimension vanished as the composition Digimon turned around while peeling Imperialdramon off the wall. His ghostly dragon reached out and grabbed hold of Ophanimon C's dragon and lifted it up into the air. Squeezing tightly, he caused the dragon to burst into data, then threw Imperialdramon at the two knight Digimon.

Turning his attention to Ophanimon C, his claws beginning to crackle with electricity. Then Seraphimon landed on his nose and stabbed with his Excalibur. Rather than penetrate through, his sword of light snapped in two, and both halves dissolved into light particles.

"Bad idea," Seraphimon muttered, and glanced at Millenniummon's face, seeing the composition Digimon's large eye settle on him. "Um… Hallowed Knuckle!"

He fired a ball of light directly into Millenniummon's eye. That, finally, seemed to harm the composition Digimon, and Millenniummon roared loudly. Seraphimon quickly put some distance between himself and the composition Digimon as Millenniummon grabbed at his face.

"Was that the first time we actually hurt him?" Ophanimon C asked as Seraphimon came up beside her.

"Looks like it," he replied. "Doesn't matter how big or strong something is, taking a shot in the eye is going to hurt."

"We can't just attack his eyes though," Omnimon told them as he, Gallantmon, and Imperialdramon rejoined them. "We need an actual plan."

Seraphimon went over to examine the knight Digimon's missing wing. "I'm open to suggestions, but he's so strong it's like he's immune to our attacks. Perfect Revival!"

A relieved sigh escaped Omnimon as he sprouted a new wing. "He must have a weakness of some kind."

Gallantmon shook his head. "I really don't think he does. Based on what I saw in his profile, he's all about power, no weaknesses."

"Guys, I think he's mad at us," said Imperialdramon.

Millenniummon stomped towards them, his posture even more hostile than before. Suddenly though, he was encased in a cage of lightning, courtesy of Susanoomon's Magna Thunder as the god Digimon flew out of the tunnel and rejoined his friends.

"Sorry for the delay," he told them. "I was briefly knocked out from that hit."

Gallantmon gave him an appreciative look. "Just glad you're still alive." He looked back at the caged Millenniummon. "I don't think that'll hold him for long though."

And he was right. Millenniummon's hands came up and grasped the electric bars of his prison, easily tearing the cage apart, and the electric cage burned out.

Boltboutamon hovered over beside Millenniummon, sneering at the DigiDestined. "Nothing can hold Millenniummon if he doesn't want it to, especially not some pathetic cage of lightning."

Millenniummon glanced at him before his claw moved in a blur of speed to slice straight through the demon Digimon. The severed pieces of Boltboutamon began dissolving away as he blinked in surprise. "Well, that lasted longer than I expected."

The DigiDestined stared as Boltboutamon's remains burst into data. "What are the odds that that was the real Boltboutamon and not one of his copies?" Imperialdramon asked.

"Non-existent," Ophanimon C replied. "No way was that the real one."

Millenniummon let out a roar and raised all six arms, physical and ghostly. All throughout the clearing, rocks and boulders of all shapes and sizes rose up into the air. He motioned towards the DigiDestined, and the rocks flew at them at top speed. It didn't stop there though as more rocks began chipping off the canyon walls and shot at the DigiDestined like countless bullets.

There was no avoiding the rocks, they came from literally every directions, pelting against the DigiDestined. They couldn't dodge them, so they tried to deflect, only to be overwhelmed by the sheer number of them.

Millenniummon laughed and unleashed his Dark Nail. Electricity flew from his claws, striking the DigiDestined. They cried out, but were then pelleted by thousands of more rocks, bringing them to the ground.

The storm of rock hail finally stopped, leaving the DigiDestined buried. They managed to dig their way out, their bodies smoking from Millenniummon's attack and covered in welts from the rocks, even through their armor.

"This is ridiculous!" Imperialdramon shouted. "How are we supposed to beat this guy?"

Omnimon looked at their only holdout. "Shoutmon, we need your help! He's too strong for us!"

The dragon Digimon, still looking petrified, almost as if he were in a daze, hadn't moved from his spot since the battle began. He seemed to snap out of his stupor at Omnimon's words and began slowly shaking his head. He began backing away until he bumped into the canyon wall, but still seemed to be trying to back away even further, as if he didn't even realize that the wall was behind him.

Omnimon swore. It really looked like Shoutmon was a lost cause in this battle. Not that he blamed him. With as powerful as regular Millenniummon proved to be, whatever trauma or phobia Shoutmon seemed to have developed from his encounter with ZeedMillenniummon seemed completely justified.

"What do we do now?" Ophanimon C asked.

"We can start with this," said Imperialdramon. "Heaven's Light!"

His healing energy flowed over his friends, repairing any damage Millenniummon's attack had done, and it had been a lot. Seraphimon then gave the dragon Digimon the same treatment with his Perfect Revival.

"As much as I appreciate that," said Gallantmon, "we're still pretty much back to square one."

"Then we'll need even more power," Susanoomon told him. "I'll use my Overwrite to make you guys stronger. But, Seraphimon, you already increased your power with your Justice Genome. I don't know how increasing your power even more will affect you. It might make you even more susceptible to the violent impulses my Overwrite might invoke."

Seraphimon looked up at Millenniummon. "I'm going to have to risk it. Besides, some violent impulses may actually help us here."

"If you say so. Overwrite!"

His power flowed over his friends, amplifying their strength. Millenniummon cocked his head to the side with mild interest, letting out a curious growl.

Gallantmon let out a vicious battle cry. "Yeah! Now that's what I'm talking about! Let's get this guy!"

Omnimon gave his own snarl as he glared at the composition Digimon. "Let's attack the same spot together. Everyone, go for the head. See how he likes that. Flame Sphere!"

"Hyper Prominence!"

"Heaven's Thunder!"

"Crimson Light!"

"Holy Destroy!"

"Hallowed Ascension!"

Attacks rained down and came from head-on, blasting Millenniummon in the head. His entire upper body was engulfed by the blast, and Millenniummon seemed to stumble.

"Yeah! I think we hurt him that time!" Imperialdramon cheered.

The smoke cleared to reveal Millenniummon hunched over, both heads hanging down. It looked like the DigiDestined had indeed succeeded in hurting him. But then he suddenly raised his heads, emitting mocking laughter.

"No way!" Gallantmon exclaimed. "He was just messing with us! Even after all that, he's not even hurt!"

Millenniummon laughed, and his eyes flashed. And just like that, the DigiDestined felt their amplified strength vanish as their power returned to normal. Then Millenniummon's eyes flashed again, and the gravity around the DigiDestined suddenly became several times greater, and they all collapsed, nearly getting flattened by the gravity's intensity.

"Cannon Fire!" Millenniummon cried, mocking them further by firing off a single fireball from one of his cannons.

The fireball came down on the DigiDestined and erupted in a fiery blast. Shoutmon looked on in horror as his friends were consumed by the blaze. And when the blast died down, the smoking, burned forms of the DigiDestined were revealed. A few of them pixelated, indicating they were on the verge of losing their Digimon forms. But at least they were alive, for all the good it would do, as they seemed no longer able to fight.

"This is impossible," Shoutmon whispered to himself. "We never stood a chance. He can't be beaten. We have to leave. Run while we still can. Have to go now!"

He turned and ran, his only thought being to put as much distance as he could between himself and the monstrosity that was Millenniummon. Even as he ran, he instinctively feared that he was being chased, and glanced over his shoulder on reflex to see how far away his pursuer was.

Only no one was chasing him. In fact, Millenniummon was ignoring him completely, his whole focus in the fallen DigiDestined as he stalked towards them.

Shoutmon's desperate sprint slowed down to a jog, then a walk, before he stopped completely. Millenniummon was paying him no mind whatsoever. If he left now, he could get away.

"But…" he said quietly, his eyes going to the DigiDestined, "my friends…"

There was no defeating Millenniummon; he knew that. Even if he had fought with them from the beginning, they wouldn't have stood a chance. Staying was suicide, there was no two-ways about it. He could either run away and live, or he could stay with his friends and they could all die together.

Dying was not a foreign concept to Shoutmon. He had died several times before. However, that didn't make the experience any easier, or any less traumatizing. If anything, it was worse each time it happened, the experience even more horrific than he remembered. Not to mention the frustration of having to start over from scratch every time he was reborn and build up his strength all over again.

The logical answer was obvious. If he fled now, at least he would survive. It would be better than all of them dying together. But he had been down that road before, he knew where it led. It was just like when he ran from ZeedMillenniummon while Gumdramon stayed to fighting, facing death. True, Millenniummon was still two Digivolutions away from ZeedMillenniummon, but their odds still weren't any better.

Shoutmon inhaled as AncientWisemon's prophetic words suddenly came to him. "If the situation should arise, will you stay and fight with your friends to the very end? You can either flee alone, or stand by their side. Flee, and there will be a chance that you may survive, however, if you stay, you will almost certainly die, but you will also find that there are those that will be willing to fight for you as long as you are willing to fight for them."

Shoutmon grasped his face in dismay. Was he really contemplating fighting Millenniummon? That was literal suicide. However, he still remembered what he had gone through when he abandoned Gumdramon. That experience hadn't been much fun, nor was the way he had beaten himself up over his cowardliness of thousands of years afterwards. Dying wasn't fun either though. But if he stayed and died, he at least wouldn't lose his friendship, and he wouldn't be burdened with the self-hatred that had plagued him from abandoning Gumdramon before.

"Your past still haunts you, Shoutmon! Even now, thousands of years later, you still wonder 'what if'. It is a question that haunts us all, but you especially, as you wonder what would have happened if you didn't run away that day."

A deep sigh escaped Shoutmon, followed by a frustrated growl. "Ah, what the hell? I've died several times already. Maybe this time I'll get a free gift basket or something. Shoutmon Digivolve to… OmniShoutmon!"

Taking a deep breath, he flew at Millenniummon. Now that he had accepted that he was definitely going to die, this didn't seem quite so scary. True, he wasn't looking forward to the experience, in fact, he would literally rather do anything else, but at least he wouldn't hate himself again for abandoning his friends.

"Twin Fireball Strike!" he cried, throwing fireballs at the composition Digimon. The fireballs exploded against Millenniummon, and the monster turned his attention from the DigiDestined to him. "Yeah, how do you like that, you big ugly git? Victorize Banking!"

He fired a V-shaped bolt at the composition Digimon. The attack flew forward, but before it hit, Millenniummon's eyes flashed, and the attack vanished as it was negated.

OmniShoutmon's shoulders sank. "That is so unfair."

Millenniummon roared loudly, sending out a shockwave. The force of it sent OmniShoutmon flying backwards, but he somehow managed to kick off the wall and launch himself at Millenniummon. "Omni Torpedo!"

Once again, Millenniummon's eyes flashed, and OmniShoutmon suddenly froze in mid-air, unable to move. He didn't let that stop him though as he unleashed his strongest attack. "Omni Core Fusion!"

His Omnimon shaped aura flew at Millenniummon, but for a third time, the composition Digimon's eyes flashed. This time, however, OmniShoutmon's attack suddenly reversed directions, flying back towards its user.

OmniShoutmon shut his eyes, bracing himself for the impact. That didn't make it any less painless as he was hit by his own attack and was blasted back. On the plus side, he regained mobility and managed to halt his momentum as he hovered in the air, breathing heavily.

"Mugen Cannon!" Millenniummon cried, firing a blast of energy from his cannon.

OmniShoutmon's eyes widened as the attack came at him. He used his Heavy Metal Vulcan to defend himself, but knew he wouldn't be able to block the attack.

He was right. As Millenniummon's attack collided with his firewall, he was caught up in the blast that followed. Fortunately, the shockwave of the blast sent him flying out of the explosion before he was too extensively damaged. He crashed and dropped to the ground, letting out a painful groan.

Millenniummon laughed as he stood victoriously over his fallen opponents. The DigiDestined tried to get up, but it took all their strength just to maintain their Digimon forms. OmniShoutmon still possessed a little more strength within him, and somehow managed to lift himself up, a humorless chuckle escaping him.

"Well, I can't say I expected anything less," he grumbled. "I knew how this would end going in. At this point, I'm just seeing how long I can last."

He started to get up, reaching out for support. When his hand came in contact with the rock wall, however, he felt a surge of power that took him by surprise. Looking up, he saw that it had been the Destiny Stone he had crashed into, not the canyon wall.

A moment of panic went through him as he saw the crack that had appeared in it from the impact. Him and his friends dying was bad enough, but if anything happened to the Destiny Stone, it would affect the Digital World itself. What were they thinking having this battle here? Not that Millenniummon cared; he was a relentless force of destruction.

Eyes shining furiously, OmniShoutmon forced himself to stand as he glared at Millenniummon. "You're getting a kick out of this, aren't you?" He received a mocking grunt in reply from the composition Digimon, and narrowed his eyes further. "I know my power is nothing compared to yours. You can crush me as easily as you can a grape between your fingers. But I'm not backing down, not this time. I'm fighting until the very end."

Millenniummon's sneering look became one of irritation, and though OmniShoutmon felt fear race through him, he stood his ground. He knew he was going to die, but he was going to do so on his own two feet, fighting for what he believed in, like the king that he was.

"Being the king of anything is a big responsibility. It means putting your people first, even before yourself, no matter what. It also means fighting to keep them safe, even against certain death. And being the Digimon King means that all the Digimon in the Digital World are your people, and you must be willing to keep them safe."

AncientWisemon's words rang in OmniShoutmon's head, along with the truth of them, and he puffed out his chest and stood as tall as possible. "I'm not afraid anymore. I will face any threat to this world, including you. That is the duty I embrace. This world and its people are mine to protect. I am the Digimon King!"

Behind him, the Destiny Stone began to glow. A bright aura surrounded it and began to expand outward, flowing over OmniShoutmon, and he felt power the likes of which he had never encountered before flow through him.

"If you are willing to fight for your people, they will be willing to fight for you as well. Remember this, Shoutmon. Remember it always, but especially in the times to come."

OmniShoutmon nodded. "I will remember, AncientWisemon. I will fight. And right now, I need everyone to fight with me. Do you hear that, everyone!? Our world is in danger! I need your help to defend it! As you king, I ask you now, lend me your strength! Final Fusion!"

The Destiny Stone flashed with power, unleashing a wave of energy that flowed across the land. Suddenly the sky itself cracked open, and Digimon began raining down. They came down from the cracks in the sky like a heavy downpour of Digimon, flowing down in the hundreds of millions. Digimon of all types and levels, good and evil Digimon alike, even those loyal to the Demon Lords, uniting to fight against a mutual threat to them and their world.

As the Digimon rained down, they suddenly transformed into beams of light and flew at OmniShoutmon. The dragon Digimon began to glow with the light of Digivolution as millions upon millions of beams of light flowed into him.

A distance away, the DigiDestined looked on in wonder and amazement, not sure what was happening, but too weak to offer their assistance.

"OmniShoutmon…?" Ophanimon C whispered.

Finally, the last of the Digimon fell from the sky and united with the dragon Digimon, and the light of Digivolution erupted outward. "OmniShoutmon DigiFuse… Shoutmon X7F Superior Mode!"

The light faded, and a Digimon unlike anything the DigiDestined had ever seen before now stood several stories tall. Resembling a white and gold mechanical dragon knight with massively large pale gold angel-like wings that seemed to be made of light, Shoutmon X7F stood against Millenniummon while wielding a microphone-like staff known as the Zanahoria. He seemed to be made of a hodgepodge of different Digimon parts pieced together to for one mighty being, and rotating around him were two rings made up of countless Digimon, as if the number of Digimon that had merged with him was too great and had instead manifested outside of his body rather than becoming a physical part of him.

Millenniummon glared at him and he let out a roar. Shoutmon X7F pointed his mic-staff at him, returning his glare. "Come on, monster! Let's end this!"

Millenniummon took up that challenge, firing his Mugen Cannon. The rings of Digimon circling around Shoutmon X7F suddenly gathered together in front of him and manifested a barrier of light. Millenniummon's attack struck the barrier, but was held back, and the Digimon once again began rotating around Shoutmon X7F.

"My turn," he declared, and his mic-staff extended into a glowing blade of energy. He charged at Millenniummon, and the composition Digimon swiped at him. Shoutmon X7F ducked beneath Millenniummon's swiping claws and struck. "Final Xros Blade!"

He stabbed forward, plunging his energy blade into Millenniummon's gut. The composition Digimon roared and collapsed to his knees as Shoutmon X7F twisted the blade inside him. "You're done."

He pulled his blade free and jumped back. Millenniummon's hands went to the gaping hole in his torso, a look of disbelief on his face, before he fell forward and collapsed.

A distance away, the DigiDestined stare as well, equally as stunned. "Did he just… win?" Gallantmon asked.

Shoutmon X7F continued to glare at the fallen Millenniummon when the sound of laughter drew his attention, and he glanced to his left to see another Boltboutamon. His eyes narrowed as the demon Digimon, knowing good and well that this was just another copy.

"Incredible!" Boltboutamon declared loudly. "Truly incredible. I did not expect this! I honestly came in here thinking that this would be the end for your little group! Who could have predicted that you would pull off this miracle! Absolutely splendid! You lot truly keep things interesting!"

Shoutmon X7F was in mood for Boltboutamon's derangement, and turned his mic-staff on him the demon Digimon. "Double Flare Buster!"

He fired a beam of energy. It completely consumed Boltboutamon, and he vanished within the beam, laughing all the while as he burst into data. Shoutmon X7F lowered his mic-staff and looked around in case Boltboutamon had any other copies hidden anywhere.

"Shoutmon!" Gallantmon shouted.

He turned around to see Millenniummon getting to his feet. His eyes narrowed, and he pointed his mic-staff at him.

"Heat Viper!" Millenniummon cried.

He fired a beam from his mouth. Shoutmon X7F was ready, but the beam passed right by him. He glanced at it over his shoulder, and his eyes widened in horror. "No…"

Millenniummon's attack struck the Destiny Stone, and it exploded into data. Shocked gasps escaped the DigiDestined as all traces of the Destiny Stone vanished.

Within seconds, the ground began to shake. No, not just the ground, but the Digital World, the very dimension itself, started to tremble. Ripples and pixilations began to appear in the air, and what seemed to be alternate worlds seemed to transition in and out of sight.

Shoutmon X7F turned back to Millenniummon. "ARE YOU MAD!?"

A cruel chuckle escaped the composition Digimon before he collapsed again. He continued to snicker before finally becoming still and exploded into data. But something else happened as well. When Millenniummon burst into data, a cloud of millions of small, black spiky balls flew out of him as well, flying in all directions.

"Dark Spores!" Shoutmon X7F exclaimed.

The DigiDestined gasped in horror. They recalled what they had been told of the Dark Spores, of how they had flown out of ZeedMillenniummon's body when the Guardians had defeated him, and they remembered how Laylamon had mixed her dark power with a Dark Spore's extract to turn Davis against them.

And now, as the Digital World trembled from the loss of the stability the Destiny Stone provided, millions of Dark Spores were now flying towards them, and they were still too weak from the battle to defend against them, or even move for that matter. All they could do was close their eyes and wait for the inevitable.

(A/N: Well, who could have seen this coming. Shoutmon managed to pull of the impossible, but at a terrible cost. Millenniummon has destroyed the Destiny Stone, and now a bunch of Dark Spores are on the loose. What are our heroes going to do now? Find out in just two weeks time.)
