Chapter 169: Knights and Dragons
Chaosmon's words were no doubt meant to intimidate, and they did, but the DigiDestined did their best to hide their unease. Omnimon in particular pointed his sword at the Chaos Generals.
"Don't be too confident," he told them. "We've gotten a lot stronger since we last fought."
Chaosmon cocked his head to the side. "Since we last fought? You called that a fight? I would call it humoring you. As for getting stronger, it seems that you've already forgotten my comrade's Digivolution. I, however, see no need to obtain additional power in order to defeat you."
"I'll take you up on that," the knight Digimon retorted. He glanced at his friends. "I'll take on Chaosmon. I've got a score to settle with him anyway. You guys take out evil Gallantmon. He can't possibly take you all on, even if he Digivolved. Mode Changed. Whatever he did."
OmniShoutmon hesitated. "On equal ground, I'd agree with you, but the Chaos Generals have been absorbing great deals of data throughout their time in service to the Demon Lords. Their power is much greater than what should be normal, even for them. Especially these two. Don't underestimate them, even if our group is stronger."
"No one is underestimating anyone," Imperialdramon replied. "Now let's end this already; I'm getting sick of fighting the Chaos General guys. It's time to finish this once and for all."
He charged forward, his sword raised. Gallantmon CM immediately flew past Chaosmon and met with Imperialdramon, his double-ended lance-spear catching the dragon Digimon's sword. He then kicked Imperialdramon back into the other DigiDestined, and they were flattened beneath him.
Gallantmon CM twirled his lance-spear around before flying at them again. Ophanimon C managed to squeeze halfway out from beneath Imperialdramon and used her Call Dramon. Her dragon appeared and breathed fire at Gallantmon CM, but the knight Digimon swerved around the flames. He used his Invincible Sword, easily cutting the dragon's head off with the sword of light that appeared in his hand.
The dragon burst into data as Gallantmon CM flew through it towards the DigiDestined. He raised his lance-spear, but was suddenly met by Imperialdramon's cannon as the dragon Digimon raised his arm. "Super Positron Laser!"
The knight Digimon was blasted at point-blank range, sending him flying backwards. Imperialdramon got off his friends while muttering an apology.
"This happens far too often for you to keep apologizing," OmniShoutmon grumbled. "Just be more careful in the future and let's get back to the fight."
They flew after Gallantmon CM. The Chaos General had already recovered and had taken to the air once more. The DigiDestined chased after him, firing their attacks as he fired his own back at them.
Omnimon and Chaosmon had yet to begin fighting, and were currently staring each other down. Omnimon had to admit that despite his earlier words, and regardless of his Digivolution since they last fought, he was still nervous. Chaosmon was the strongest of the Chaos Generals, and he had dominated their last fight.
Chaosmon cocked his head to the side as he studied the knight Digimon. "You seem uneasy. Don't tell me that you're afraid."
Omnimon pushed down his unease. "We're about to engage in a fight to the death. It's natural to be a little nervous."
A chuckle escaped the Chaos General. "Do you know what the solution is when you're nervous about something?" His sword slid down. "It's to not prolong it. Ban-Tyo Blade!"
He charged forward, swinging his sword. Omnimon's came up, blocking the blade. The two pushed against each other, and Omnimon was able to hold his ground. He pushed Chaosmon back and raised his cannon, firing his Graceful Cannon.
Chaosmon flew straight up, avoiding the beam. Up in the air, he used his Dragon Slash, sending out a blade of energy from his sword. Omnimon swiped his sword at the energy blade and was blasted backwards. His feet skidded across the ground until his momentum stopped, and he glared up at the Chaos General as Chaosmon came at him.
"Fearsome Blade!" he cried, and his sword began glowing. He swiped at Chaosmon, and a whip-like blade of energy flew out from his sword. Chaosmon swung his own sword, knocking the whip-blade aside, and kept coming. Omnimon waved his arm, bringing the whip-blade back at Chaosmon.
The Chaos General pulled back to avoid the cutting energy blade. Omnimon brought it back towards him again, and Chaosmon went back and forth between dodging and deflecting the energy blade. "Congratulations. It seems you're putting your Digivolution's new abilities to good use. I might even need to take you seriously. Dark Prominence!"
He fired his own cells from his cannon. Omnimon ceased using his Fearsome Blade and leap out of the way. Chaosmon came at him again, swiping his sword. Omnimon took flight and began firing his Double Torrent, shooting fire and ice from his WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon hands. Chaosmon flew after him, knocking away the attacks, then fired his End of the World, shooting blasts of darkness and light.
Omnimon did a flip in the air to avoid the blasts and sped back towards Chaosmon. Their swords clanged together as they sped past each other, then circled around to come back again, both firing their cannons. And so their battle unfolded in a constant clash of sword swipes and cannon fire.
The rest of the DigiDestined, minus Takuya as he continued to search for his missing Digivice, were still chasing after Gallantmon CM. The knight Digimon was being very allusive of their attacks, dodging one after the other as he sped along, openly taunting them.
"You're far too uncoordinated!" he called back to them. "What good is all your power if you can't even hit your opponent?"
Seraphimon let out a frustrated growl. "We're not getting anywhere with this. At this rate, we're just wasting energy."
Ophanimon C came to a stop. "That's what he's doing. He's provoking us into attacking and then evading in an attempt to make us waste energy. Once we tire ourselves out, he'll swoop in and take us out one after another."
"Cheap bastard," Imperialdramon grumbled. "What a shallow strategy."
"Or a clever one," Gallantmon reluctantly admitted.
"Then let's stop this charade," said Seraphimon. "Hallowed Ascension!"
Since they had been chasing after the Chaos General before, he had avoided using this attack so his friends wouldn't fly into it. Now that they had stopped the chase, he brought down his lightning on the knight Digimon.
Gallantmon CM came to a stop as he was struck and looked back at the DigiDestined. Imperialdramon pointed his sword at him and said, "Nice try, trying to wear us down by having us waste our energy by attacking while you just fly around, but we're not falling for it."
Gallantmon CM considered him for a few moments before turning around completely to face them. "So you're not. Good. I was hoping this wouldn't be that easy. I just got this new form; I want to actually try it out in battle. Brace yourselves, humans, because I'm coming for you."
He sped towards the DigiDestined. Ophanimon C and Gallantmon flew forward and fired their Shining Laser II and Final Justice. Gallantmon CM swerved beneath the two attacks and engaged them. Using his Invincible Sword, he manifested a sword of light and swiped at the angel Digimon. She held up her shield, but his sword sliced straight through it, cutting it in half. He then spun around, kicking her away, and swung his lance-spear at his counterpart. The knight Digimon blocked the blow, using both spears. With the Chaos General preoccupied, Seraphimon flew in and used his Excalibur. Gallantmon CM brought up his sword to catch the blow, and that's when Imperialdramon moved in, swiping with his Omni Sword.
Gallantmon CM flew straight up, avoiding the giant sword, then plowed directly into the dragon Digimon, knocking him back. He then used his Gungnir, throwing his lance-spear down at Seraphimon. It struck the angel Digimon in the chest, cracking and piercing his armor, and Seraphimon shot to the ground.
The lance-spear returned to Gallantmon CM's hand, and a moment later he was struck from behind. He turned around to see OmniShoutmon flying towards him, throwing fireballs from his Twin Fireball Strike. Gallantmon CM began knocking the fireballs away with his lance-spear, then flew at the dragon Digimon, using his Dash Blutgang. OmniShoutmon used his Doom Drillpress, and his bladed foot met with the knight Digimon's sword of light. A shockwave erupted from the collision. Gallantmon CM's sword burst into light particles, but he seemed otherwise fine. OmniShoutmon, however, was sent flying into the distance from the force of the shockwave.
Gallantmon suddenly grabbed the Chaos General from behind. Gallantmon CM struggled against his counterpart's hold before breaking free. He turned around to face him, but Gallantmon blasted him to the ground with his Final Justice.
The Chaos General hit the ground, landing on his back. Gallantmon flew down, bringing his spears down. His counterpart brought up his much larger lance-spear, locking the blow. He knocked Gallantmon back and rose to his feet before lunging at the knight Digimon. He swung his lance-spear aggressively, his bigger and stronger weapon causing Gallantmon to lose ground as he blocked.
"Air Sefirot Crystal!" Ophanimon C cried, firing her crystals. They struck Gallantmon CM, knocking him off his feet. He got up a moment later, only to have the angel Digimon use her Volcano Napalm, the fireball landing beneath his feet and erupting into a pillar of fire that launched him into the air.
Stopping his momentum, Gallantmon CM glared down at the two of them. "You will pay for that."
"Fine, here's your payment!" Imperialdramon cried. "Giga Crusher!"
Gallantmon CM turned as he saw the attack coming at him. Using his Gungnir, he threw his lance-spear. It collided with Imperialdramon's attack, resulting in a massive explosion that flowed over the Chaos General.
Landing beside Ophanimon C and Gallantmon, Imperialdramon let out a proud hmph. "Sometimes bigger is better," he said, observing the blast.
Gallantmon CM suddenly flew out of the top of the explosion. "But being stronger is even better. Quo Vadis!"
He threw his lance-spear into the air, and it erupted into a beam that came down on the three of them. The Chaos General cackled as they were pinned down by the attack. That's when OmniShoutmon came flying in. Doing a flip, he used his Doom Drillpress, bringing his bladed foot down on Gallantmon CM. The Chaos General turned to him and caught his bladed leg, sneering at the dragon Digimon.
"Victorize Banking!" OmniShoutmon cried, firing a V-shaped bolt.
Gallantmon CM was blasted away, and OmniShoutmon turned to his friends. He flew over to the beam, but wasn't sure how to help them. "Hold on, guys. I'll get you out of there. Just… give me a second."
"Stand back," Seraphimon ordered as he flew over. "I'll handle this. Hallowed Ascension!"
He brought lightning down on the spot where the beam was emitting from the sky. There was a blast of energy, and the beam ceased, allowing the others to get to their feet.
"Geez," Gallantmon grumbled. "Now I almost feel bad for using my Crimson Light on others. Thanks for getting us out of that."
"Don't mention it," Seraphimon replied, his hand over his chest wound.
Ophanimon C took notice of his hand clutching his chest and gave him a worried look. "Are you alright?"
He nodded. "It's not bad. It didn't penetrate my armor too deeply. No need to waste energy healing quite yet."
"You may come to regret that," Gallantmon CM declared as he flew back over to them.
The DigiDestined turned to him, and Imperialdramon pointed his sword at him. "You may come to have some regrets yourself. I can't help but notice that you seem a little frustrated right now. Did your Digivolution not give you the edge you were expecting?"
The Chaos General's eyes narrowed. "If I'm frustrated, it's because you vermin are getting on my nerves with your refusal to die. But I'm through playing games with you. It's time for you to die. Dash Blutgang!"
A sword of light appeared in his hands and he sped towards them. Seraphimon created his own sword of light with his Excalibur and rushed forward to meet him. Their swords crashed together and they pressed against each other before Gallantmon CM swung his lance-spear into Seraohimon's sword, causing it to burst into light particles. The angel Digimon retaliated with his Hallowed Knuckle, repeating the attack several times to knock him back far enough to use his Strike of the Seven Stars on him.
Gallantmon CM recovered quickly and flew through the cloud of smoke, raising his lance-spear and sword of light to strike Seraphimon. Ophanimon C quickly appeared in front of him, blocking with her javelin. Gallantmon CM kicked her back into Seraphimon, but then she fired her Holy Destroy attack at him.
The attack blasted him back and caused his sword of light to disappear. That's when OmniShoutmon and Gallantmon flew in. Using their Doom Drillpresss and Invincible Sword they attacked at the same time. Gallantmon CM held up his lance-spear to block, each end of his weapon catching one of their weapons.
"Hard Rock Spirit!" OmniShoutmon cried, shooting blasts of fire from his hands.
Gallantmon CM was pushed back by the flames, and when they ceased, he saw Imperialdramon coming at him. The dragon Digimon swiped at him with his Imperial Claw, and then again with his Omni Sword. Gallantmon CM dodged both the claw and the sword, but was then sent flying from Imperialdramon's Imperial Kick.
"Hallowed Ascension!" Seraphimon cried.
Lightning came down on Gallantmon CM, stopping his momentum. Raising his lance-spear, he began spinning it around to deflect the lightning. Ophanimon C used the opportunity to fly in and use her Holy Slash, slicing him across the torso with holy power.
"Invincible Sword!" he countered, creating a sword of light and swiping at her. She used her Unicorn Shield, this time managing to deflect the attack, and his sword bounced off her barrier.
"Omni Torpedo!" OmniShoutmon cried, and plowed into Gallantmon CM, knocking him away from Ophanimon C. He carried the Chaos General away until Gallantmon CM grabbed hold of him and drove his knee into the dragon Digimon's chest, causing him to stop.
Raising an arm, Gallantmon CM brought his elbow down on the dragon Digimon, sending him crashing to the ground. Gallantmon flew over and grabbed OmniShoutmon, dragging him out from underneath the Chaos General while throwing his spear straight up. His Crimson Light was unleashed, a beam coming down on Gallantmon CM that brought him crashing to the ground.
"Yeah!" Imperialdramon shouted. "How do you like it? That's how it feels. Now let's hit him hard, Hyper Prominence!"
"Holy Destroy!"
"Strike of the Seven Stars!"
The attacks struck where the beam met the ground, resulting in a massive blast that leveled the land. Off to the side, the residential Digimon continued to watch the battle in either despair or awe.
"Our poor land," Hudiemon lamented. "At this rate, there won't be anything left of it."
"We can clean it up later!" Copymon insisted, unable to take his eyes off the battle. "This fight is amazing!"
"So cool!" Tokomon X and Bun said together.
A sigh escaped Spadamon. "I suppose we should be glad it's just the land that's being destroyed and not us."
Hackmon glared at Takuya, who was still searching for his Digivice. "They'd be doing better if they had their whole team. Hey, human, did you find that thing of yours yet!?"
Covered in dirt, Takuya gave him an annoyed look. "Are you kidding me? Look at this mess!" He motioned to the torn up land. "I'll be lucky if I ever find it!" He glanced back at his friends. "Fortunately, it looks like they're handling things pretty well."
The DigiDestined stared down at the cloud of smoke left behind from the blast as it slowly dissipated. When it faded away, there was a large crater, but no sign of the Chaos General.
"Wait, did we beat him?" Imperialdramon asked hopefully.
Gallantmon CM's arm burst out of the ground. He crawled out of the crater, having been buried under the ground, and shook the dirt off himself.
"Of course not," Seraphimon mumbled. "But at least he's not going to last much longer at this rate."
A frustrated growl escaped Gallantmon CM as his fingers dug into the ground. "This isn't supposed to be happening. I'm a Chaos General. I've Digivolved. I'm stronger than I've ever been. I should be dominating this fight. How am I losing?"
"I can answer that," said Ophanimon C as she and her friends landed nearby. "It's because you fight alone. All you bad guys do. And that's because you're selfish and power hungry. You're all so obsessed with gaining power and promoting yourselves that you fight for yourselves in order to become stronger. Even when more than one of you attack us at once, you're still just fighting for yourselves. But we fight together as a team. We support and look out for each other. Any drawbacks or weaknesses each of us have, the rest of us make up for them. You may be stronger than any of us, but you're not stronger than all of us. That's the power of teamwork."
"Here, here," Imperialdramon replied.
Gallantmon CM stared up at her for several moments before looking at the ground. "Teamwork? You think your little team is worth anything against true, overwhelming power?" He stabbed his lance-spear into the ground, using it to help him get to his feet. "If your precious team is the source of your power, if this is what has allowed you to defeat the Demon Lords and my fellow Chaos General, then I suppose the best course of action will be to break apart your team."
He suddenly sped off, but not towards the DigiDestined. Horrified gasps escaped them as they saw him heading for Takuya as the teen searched for his Digivice, his back turned to the Chaos General.
Calling his name, they sped after Gallantmon CM. They realized that they weren't going to make it in time, nor could they launch any attacks to intercept the Chaos General without risking hitting Takuya.
"Die, human!" Gallantmon CM shouted.
Takuya turned around as Gallantmon CM stabbed forward with his lance-spear. Before he was stabbed though, something came between him and the weapon, knocking him back.
"Spadamon!" came the cries of the residential Digimon.
Takuya looked up to see the weapon Digimon impaled on the end of Gallantmon CM's lance-spear. The Chaos General grumbled angrily before flinging Spadamon off of it. "Out of the way, interloper!"
The weapon Digimon went flying, hitting the ground hard. Hackmon was by his side in an instant, looking down at the hole in Spadamon's chest in horror. "Fool! What did you do?"
Spadamon gave him a weak smile. "It's… supposed to be… our job… to protect this… place…"
The dragon Digimon's grip on Spadamon's arm tightened. "You idiot."
With Spadamon out of the way, Gallantmon CM raised his lance-spear to finish off Takuya, but at this point, the DigiDestined had caught up to him. OmniShoutmon slammed into the Chaos General with his Omni Torpedo, knocking him away from Takuya. Gallantmon CM grabbed him and tossed him aside, only to be blasted by Imperialdramon's Super Positron Laser. He was then pushed back further by Ophanimon C's Shining Laser III, and then by Gallantmon's Final Justice, followed by Seraphimon's Strike of the Seven Stars, each attack pushing the Chaos General further and further away from Takuya and the residential Digimon. Once he was away from them, Seraphimon flew over to heal Spadamon.
"We owe you big tine," the angel Digimon told him as he used his Perfect Revival.
The weapon Digimon chuckled as his injury healed. "Defeat them and we'll call it even."
Beneath his helmet, Seraphimon smiled. "Sounds good to me."
Stabbing his lance-spear into the ground, Gallantmon CM stopped his momentum. He growled furiously and glared at the DigiDestined. They landed a short distance away, standing between him and the others.
"You're going to pay for what you did to Spadamon," Gallantmon seethed.
The Chaos General growled again and pulled his lance-spear out of the ground. He made to move towards them, but stumbled, and had to once again stab his lance-spear into the ground to remain standing.
"Me, pay?" he quietly raged. "I don't think so. It's you who will pay." He pulled his lance-spear out of the ground and stood up straight. "I guess it's actually going to come to this. I'll just have to destroy everything. I hope you're happy, because you've just invited unimaginable damage to this world. Gallantmon Slide Evolution… Megidramon!"
Gallantmon CM had suddenly changed, and the change was extreme. No longer was he a knight, but a horrible, vicious dragon with a serpentine lower body. Megidramon towered over the DigiDestined like a giant, hideous red beast, snarling at them like a rabid animal. Even Chaosmon paused in his battle with Omnimon to glance at the new dragon Digimon.
"So, he resorted to that," he said to himself, before quickly moving to dodge Omnimon's Inferno attack.
"What the hell is that!?" Imperialdramon exclaimed.
OmniShoutmon took a step back. "This isn't good! That's Megidramon. We're all in real trouble now."
Ophanimon C glanced at him in concern. "Why?" How much stronger is he?"
OmniShoutmon shook his head. "Actually, he's not. He's just as strong as he was as ChaosGallantmon, but Megidramon is by far a lot more dangerous."
"How so?" Seraphimon asked as he flew back over to rejoined them.
Megidramon let out a roar, raising his arms and stretching out his wings. On his chest was the same hazard symbol that was found on all of Takato's Digimon forms. It suddenly began flashing, and beams of red began flying out from the triangles of the symbol. They tore through the ground, tearing the land apart, and the ground began splitting apart. The land began splitting in areas and rising up in others, as if the entire crust of the earth was moving, causing a massive earthquake.
"That's why," OmniShoutmon exclaimed as he and the others took to the air. "He has the power to tear apart and destroy the entire Digital World through that hazard sign. He may not be as strong, but his destructive power is vast."
"Then we have to stop him before he does too much damage," said Seraphimon. "Strike of the Seven Stars!"
His attack flew at Megidramon. The dragon Digimon looked at the incoming spheres of energy and used his Dragon Howling. The shockwave he unleashed flowed outward, causing Seraphimon's attack to explode against it. The shockwave kept going, knocking the DigiDestined back.
"Geez, what a singing voice," Imperialdramon muttered. "He should try opera. But first, try this. Super Positron Laser!"
His attack struck Megidramon, knocking the dragon Digimon down. As he fell, one of the beams flying from his chest struck Imperialdramon, making him cry out. Megidramon used the opportunity to suddenly lunge at him. "Megido Bite!"
Gallantmon flew forward, grabbing the dragon Digimon's snapping jaws. Slobber from Megidramon's drooling mouth flew about, flying over the knight Digimon, and he cried out as it burned like acid.
"Watch out for those beams," OmniShoutmon warned as he avoided one himself. "And that drool. Omni Core Fusion!"
His attack blasted Megidramon, knocking him away from Gallantmon. The dragon Digimon spread his wings, stopping his momentum, and used his Megido Flame, breathing a stream of fire. It hit Gallantmon, pushing the knight Digimon back, and Megidramon roared loudly.
Seraphimon maneuvered around the beams as they flew around him. "These beams are going to make it hard to fight. Hallowed Knuckle!"
He began punching out balls of light. They exploded against the dragon Digimon, and Megidramon snarled. He flew at Seraphimon, the beams from his chest tearing the land apart. Seraphimon retreated as the dragon Digimon came at him, and OmniShoutmon plowed into his side with his Omni Torpedo.
Megidramon swiped at him, snatching OmniShoutmon out of the air. He held him up and roared at him before unleashing his Megido Flame on him.
"Holy Destroy!" Ophanimon C cried, blasting Megidramon.
The dragon Digimon dropped a smoking OmniShoutmon as he was knocked back and crashed to the ground. He rose up a moment later, roaring loudly and began breathing fire all around.
"This thing is out of control!" said Seraphimon.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you!" OmniShoutmon exclaimed. "Digimon that possess a Digital Hazard like him are known to cause immense damage to the Digital World when their power is awakened. Megidramon's very existence is a Digital Hazard, plus he holds the title of one of the Four Great Dragons."
"Yeah, the only thing I got out of all that was that we need to stop him," said Imperialdramon. "So let's stop clowning around and do that. Hyper Prominence!"
He fired his attack, but Megidramon unleashed his Dragon Howling, the shockwave causing the attack to explode against it. Then he went right back to breathing fire all about, only to stop and unleash another shockwave, then breathing more fire, all the while firing beams from his chest.
"Damn it, how do we stop this?" Gallantmon snarled as he recoiled from the destructive beams. "We'll never be able to stop him before he tears this whole place apart."
"He's doing this on purpose," Seraphimon realized. "He's not trying to fight, he's just keeping us at bay while he destroys everything. We have to end this now. Hallowed Ascension!"
Lightning came down on Megidramon, but that only seemed to infuriate the dragon Digimon further. Letting out another roar, he suddenly charged at the DigiDestined, still firing beams from his chest, while going back and forth between breathing fire and unleashing shockwaves from his mouth. The DigiDestined retreated, firing attacks off as Megidramon came at them, but the dragon Digimon took whatever hits landed and pressed onward, immediately getting up whenever he was knocked down.
A distance away, Takuya had stopped searching for his Digivice and was currently cringing with the residential Digimon as the ground was torn apart without them. It was like a scene out of a natural disaster movie where land was completely turned over. Hudiemon had Tokomon X, Bun, and Copymon in her arms and was flying in the air while Takuya allowed Hackmon and Spadamon to sit on his shoulders.
"That bastard," Hackmon growled. "He's just causing senseless destruction just to be destructive."
Takuya's eyes narrowed in frustration. "If only I had my Digivice, then I could put a stop to this."
"Is that it?" Bun asked.
Takuya blinked. "Huh? Where?"
"There?" the caper Digimon pointed.
Takuya looked. A large mass of rock had risen out of the ground like an emerging mountain as a result of Megidramon's Digital Hazard tearing the land apart. Sliding down the side of it was a small device, and Takuya's mouth dropped open in shock.
"That is… How did you…? Where did…?"
"It's going to fall down there!" Tokomon X shouted.
Takuya quickly put down Hackmon and Spadamon. "Sorry, guys, gotta go!"
He made a run for it. His Digivice was about to fall down a crevice that had opened up, and he made a mad dash for it. He stumbled as the ground was torn apart, and his Digivice fell into the crevice. He leapt for it, jumping down into the opening. He could see the ground grinding together down below, and he reached out for his Digivice as both he and it fell, his fingers closing around the device.
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Susanoomon!"
At the last possible moment, he pulled out of the fall, actually feeling the ground graze his feet. He let out a sigh of relief as he flew straight up and out of the opening, barely missing being crushed as the two sides of the crevice smashed together.
"I think that was the closest I had ever cut it," he muttered.
"So cool," Tokomon X, Copymon, and Bun awed, once again in fan-mode.
Turning to the battle, Susanoomon watched as his friends fled from the attacking Megidramon, and his eyes narrowed. "Time to put this dragon down. Celestial Blade!"
His ZERO-ARMS: Orochi appeared in his hands, and his bladed emerged. He swung it through the air, swiping at the dragon Digimon. Megidramon paused in his pursuit and turned towards Susanoomon, snarling. The god Digimon pushed onward, his giant blade slicing through the air, regardless of the hazard beams Megidramon was firing off.
The blade cut through Megidramon, and the dragon Digimon roared as he was severed from his lower body. He fell to the ground, his severed lower half bursting into data. Raising his head, Megidramon let out a loud roar, breathing fire all about.
The DigiDestined came to a halt as they all turned to the god Digimon. "Susanoomon, you finally found your Digivice," said Gallantmon.
"Sure did, and not soon enough. Now, I'll finish it up from here." He pointed his weapon at Megidramon. "ZERO-ARMS: Orochi!"
Red and blue spheres appeared at the end of the weapon before coming together and firing at Megidramon. The dragon Digimon roared as the attack hit and erupted in a massive blast. And with that, the Chaos General burst into data and was gone.
Lowering his arms to block out the brightness of the blast, Imperialdramon blinked as he looked at the spot where Megidramon had been. "Holy hell. It's a shame you lost your Digivice earlier; you could have done that right off the bat."
"Well," said Susanoomon, "you guy's did weaken him. Thanks for holding down the fort."
"That just leaves one more Chaos General," Gallantmon pointed out. He looked towards the battle with Omnimon and Chaosmon. "Let's put an end to this once and for all.
(A/N: Another Chaos General down, and only one left. And now that the whole team is ready to fight, and fight together, will they be able to take down Chaosmon? And if so, will he stay and fight, or strategically withdraw Tune in next week to find out. Remember, I'm updating this story EVERY WEEK now.
