(A/N: Last time, we had a chapter dedicated to Daemon trying to overthrow Lucemon, and the two were engaged in a fierce fight. Today... we will be taking a break from that to see how our heroes are doing after their defeat at Daemon's hand. Sorry, but it was necessary. So let's see how they're doing.)

Chapter 176: Pre-Show Entertainment
To say that tensions were high would be a massive understatement. After their brutal and crushing defeat at Daemon's hands, where they only survived because he allowed them to live, the teens were feeling rather dispirited.
They tried to look on the bright side. True, they may have lost to Daemon, but this was after they had fought him and then Arcadiamon at the Mega level, and then the latter at the Ultra level, followed by the former once again, now at the Ultra level. That was quite a lot of fighting. Perhaps if they fought just Daemon right off the bat, they would stand a chance. And while this hope was indeed wishful thinking, it was still something they could hold on to so they wouldn't fall into despair.
It was two days later, however, when Lucemon's castle came into view that their anxiety really started to kick in. They were finally here, about to face the leader and founder of the Demon Lords. To say that they were nervous didn't do their feelings justice.
"So, just to be clear," said Takato, "Daemon Ultra is stronger than Lucemon, right?"
Shoutmon shifted uncomfortably. "Well, yeah."
He just barely stopped himself from saying, 'for the most part'. Unlike his friends, Shoutmon did indeed know about Lucemon's Shadowlord Mode, and unlike Daemon, he hadn't overlooked or forgotten about it. But with as dire as things seemed to be right now, he thought it best not to mention it.
"And Daemon's stronger than Bagramon now too, right?" Takato inquired.
"Yes," the dragon Digimon grumbled impatiently. "But we shouldn't think about that right now."
"He's right," Tai agreed. "It's best not to worry about that now. With Daemon being so strong, we should save him for last. We'll deal with Lucemon first, then Bagramon, then we'll focus on Daemon."
"And Boltboutamon," Davis reminded him. "Can't forget about him."
Tai nodded. "By then, we might have gotten even stronger. And in a direct battle with Daemon, we might be able to win."
Davis smirked. "Don't worry. The way I see it, we have a fifty-fifty chance of winning."
Takuya raised an eyebrow at him. "Um, how'd you come to that conclusion?"
"Easy, either we can win or we can't. See, fifty-fifty."
The others just stared. With as bad as Davis was at math, they weren't sure if he was joking or not.
Shoutmon sighed. He didn't want to dash their hopes, but they really were making it sound too easy. Or maybe they really did know the truth and were simply trying to be optimistic.
As Shoutmon pondered this, Kari frowned as she noticed something strange about Lucemon's castle. "Hey, guys, does something seem a bit off to you?"
Takuya glanced at her. "Like what?"
She pointed. "Just look at the castle. It looks rather… beaten up. And what's all that smoke coming out of it?"
Shoutmon looked and saw what she was talking about. "You're right. I wonder what's going on."
Tai took out his Digivice. "No doubt Lucemon is conducting something wicked. I say we fly over there and put an end to it before something else happens. Let's go. Execute! Spirit Evolution… Omnimon Merciful Mode!"
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Imperialdramon Paladin Mode!"
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Gallantmon X!"
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Susanoomon!"
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Seraphimon!"
"Execute! Spirit Evolution… Ophanimon C!"
"Shoutmon Digivolve to… OmniShoutmon!"
Omnimon pointed his sword at the castle. "Let's dethrone this Demon Lord."
They took to the air and sped towards the castle. Prior to their fight with Daemon two days ago, they had thought that their fight with Lucemon would be the battle to end all battles. But now, after having faced a Demon Lord at the Ultra level, they were uncertain of their chances, yet each of them silently swore that even if they couldn't defeat Daemon, they would at least see to Lucemon's downfall.
But as they flew along, something suddenly came flying through the air at them. They pulled back as a giant boulder shot past them, and they looked around. "Alright, who threw that?" Susanoomon demanded.
A loud roar greeted him in response as a large green ogre of a Digimon came stalking out into the open. Behind it, it dragged a giant sword the size of its body that seemed to secrete darkness from the blade. The Digimon looked up at the DigiDestined and roared.
OmniShoutmon's eyes narrowed. "Damn, Titamon. That guy's really bad news."
"Great, just what we need," Gallantmon X grumbled. "Bad news how?"
"He was born from the hatred of Digimon defeated by the Olympos Twelve countless years. He's known by the alias of the One-Man Squad since he has the power of an entire legion, and all those skulls he's wearing are the data of the power he's stolen from those he's defeated. Even his sword is carved from SkullGreymon's bones, and he possesses inexhaustible energy from his hatred. There's no two ways about it, this guy is insanely strong."
Gallantmon X sweat-dropped, now having regretted asking. "Ok, that's pretty bad. He sounds like a Digimon version of the Hulk, only running on hatred instead of anger."
"Who's the Hulk?"
"Not important right now," Omnimon growled. "We can't be worrying about another enemy on the loose just before a fight with Lucemon."
Laughter greeted Omnimon's statement, and the DigiDestined turned to see Boltboutamon backstroking through the air, as if he were swimming on his back.
"Don't tell me you're surprised?" he mocked, not even looking at them.
Did you really think that the leader of the Demon Lords wouldn't have his own guards protecting his castle?"
For some reason, Ophanimon C wasn't surprised to see the demon Digimon. "I don't see why he would need them when he's so strong."
Boltboutamon smirked. "To deal with insignificant nuisances, of course. Why bother being all-powerful if you can't have others take care of your problems for you. All the Demon Lords have henchmen to take care of pests like you so they don't need to bother with such simpletons."
"What are you doing here anyway?" Seraphimon demanded. "Come to make things more difficult for us like you did when we fought Arcadiamon?"
Boltboutamon stopped backstroking and rolled over to face them. "Now don't tell me you're still sore about that. I was only following orders after all; it was nothing personal."
"Bastard," Imperialdramon growled.
Boltboutamon just found the insult amusing. "Let me answer your question with another question. What do you think I'm doing here?" He paused for a few seconds before answering his own question. "It's war! And I'm loving every minute of it. But I know you came here with a purpose. Unfortunately though, I'm afraid Lucemon has his hands full right now, so your battle with him is going to have to wait." He licked his lips and smiled excitedly. "But luckily, Lucemon was kind enough to already have these guys patrolling the perimeter for you to play with."
"What guys?" Gallantmon X asked, only seeing Titamon.
Boltboutamon's grinned widened, his eyes flashing maliciously, and he clapped his hands together. Four portals suddenly appeared around Titamon, and four Digimon emerged from them, each one more threatening looking than the last.
A hissing chuckle escaped the demon Digimon. "Beautiful, aren't they? Shall I make the introductions to those who are uninformed? You already know Titamon, so let's give it up for the biggest, baddest, robo-dino around, RustTyranomon!"
The Digimon in question did indeed resemble a rusted, robotic dinosaur with a massive canon on its back. Everything about it was intimidating, and it practically screamed hostility.
"And up next," Boltboutamon continued, as if he were a game show host, "we have the dreaded, the terrible, the ferocious, Rasenmon. But not just any Rasenmon, but Rasenmon Fury Mode!"
His announcement was met by another roar from a hideous, purple creature that couldn't seem to decide if it wanted to be a mammal or a reptile, but was horrifying to behold, especially with all the tentacles protruding from its back.
"But we're not done yet. This next contestant is not only big, but beautiful as well. Say hello to Eosmon! And for any humans in the crowd who don't know any better, Eosmon's name doesn't change after Digivolving past the Rookie level. So what level is she at you ask? Why, what else besides the Mega level?"
Eosmon hovered forward, spreading her arms and wings as if in invitation. She didn't look overly threatening, but she certainly looked powerful.
"And last, but certainly not least, we have this monstrosity. And here's a spoiler alert, he's one of the Digimon needed to create Millenniummon, so you know he's trouble. He may only be an Ultimate, but his power surpasses that of most Megas. Give it up for Kimeramon!"
The last Digimon roared, it's appearance beyond baffling. There was no telling what it was supposed to be, as it seemed to have been a bunch of different body parts taken from random Digimon that had been stuck together to create a Digimon version of the Frankenstein monster.
"Did he say Millenniummon?" Imperialdramon asked uneasily, recalling their near-fatal encounter with Lucemon's former secret weapon. Had he been working on a second one, or was this just an extra, or even a failed attempt to recreate Millenniummon?
"What is wrong with you?" Susanoomon demanded of Boltboutamon. "Do you think that this is some kind of game?"
The demon Digimon licked his lips again, practically salivating. "Of course it is. So let's make it official, just to spice things up a bit. Rather than having this turn into some big brawl, we'll do one-on-one battles. I'll even allow a couple two-on-one battles since you humans have more numbers. That should make things much more interesting."
He shook his finger at them. "But be warned, should any of you attempt to interfere with the battles when you're not supposed to be fighting, then not only will all bets be off, but I too shall step in. But if you follow all the rules, then I will remain just a spectator. What do you think? Sounds like a good deal, no? Or would you prefer that we all go all out?"
The DigiDestined hesitated as they looked at the five powerful Digimon waiting to fight them. Boltboutamon's offer had both pros and cons. If they agreed, then they wouldn't need to worry about fighting him, but then they wouldn't be able to help each other out in battle. And if they all fought together, then they would have to face Boltboutamon as well as the others.
Omnimon glanced at OmniShoutmon. "What do you think? Should we do it?"
"I say we face them all," Imperialdramon growled. "We outnumber them, even if it's only by one. And we plan to face Boltboutamon anyway, so we might as well get it out of the way now."
But OmniShoutmon shook his head. "Too risky. Boltboutamon is too strong. It'll be a team effort, and we'll need to be at full power if we want to take him down, and we can't do that with these other guys in the way."
"Decisions, decisions," Boltboutamon taunted. "Better decide quickly, this offer has an expiration on it. Will it be an all-out free for all, or a one-on-one fight? Hurry up and make your choice. Going once… Going Twice…"
A frustrated growl escaped Omnimon, and he reluctantly glared up at the demon Digimon. "Fine, we'll play your game… For now."
Boltboutamon clapped his hands together. "Splendid! This'll be fun. Let's start on with the two-on-one fights and then get to the solo battles."
Gallantmon X was about to ask what that meant when he saw something far away in the distance that caught his attention. A fireball had flown into the sky before exploding, filling the sky with fie. It reminded him of Daemon's Algol's Flame attack.
"Hey, what's that?" he asked, gesturing with his lance.
Boltboutamon glanced over his shoulder at the burning sky and his grin widened before he looked back at the DigiDestined. "Just something that's been going on for the past couple of days; nothing for you humans to worry about right now. You've got a game to play, and your first opponent is…"
He looked at the Digimon he had brought, placed a hand over his eyes, and then pointed from one to the other while muttering under his breath. As he played what seemed to amount to eenie-meenie-miney-mo, a glint of realization appeared in Imperialdramon's eye. Changing his grip on his sword, he threw it with all his might. His sword flew through the air and hit Boltboutamon, stabbing him in the back. The blade went straight through him, bursting out his front as it buried into him up to the hilt.
"Bull's eye!" Imperialdramon shouted.
Boltboutamon's shocked and pained face suddenly shifted into a sneer before he burst into data, and Imperialdramon's sword dropped from the sky.
"Penalty!" the demon Digimon's voice rang out.
A moment later, a portal appeared beside Imperialdramon's head, and Boltboutamon's hand shot out, his fist slamming into Imperialdramon's face. The dragon Digimon went down, clutching his nose. Boltboutamon's hand retracted back into the portal and it disappeared as another one popped up, and the demon Digimon himself stepped out of it.
Looking down at the collapsed dragon Digimon, he shook his finger at him and tsked. "Naughty, naughty. It's not your turn yet. And besides, I'm not playing right now. However, that can change if you don't follow the rules."
A portal opened beside him and he stuck his arm inside it as a second one opened beside Imperialdramon's sword. He pulled it through the portal, twirled it around, then threw it at Imperialdramon, and it stabbed into the ground right by his head, the blade just barely grazing his neck.
OmniShoutmon didn't show him much pity as he glared down at Imperialdramon. "You idiot. That was bold, but of course it would have been a copy. Now you might have doomed us all."
Imperialdramon stood up and pulled his sword out of the ground. "Well, excuse me for taking an opening when I saw it."
Boltboutamon waved his hands. "Now, now, let's not get so dramatic. Our friend here just got a little too enthusiastic. I can certainly understand that. However, break the rules again and all bets are off. So now that we've got that out of the way, it's time for the pre-show entertainment."
"Pre-show entertainment?" Susanoomon repeated suspiciously.
"Your fights," the demon Digimon clarified. "You're going to need a warm-up before you face Lucemon. So let's get to it. Seraphimon, Ophanimon, come on down."
The two angel Digimon exchanged a look. "Why us first?" Ophanimon C asked suspiciously.
Boltboutamon smirked. "I said we would start with the two-on-one fights since our teams are uneven. And since you two are like two peas in a pod, it only makes sense for you two to go first, don't you think? As for your opponent, I think Eosmon would be rather suitable."
The unidentified Digimon hovered forward, suddenly appearing far more threatening now that she was about to fight. Ophanimon C's hand made contact with Seraphimon's, and he gave it an encouraging squeeze.
"It's fine," he told her. "We can do this."
OmniShoutmon stepped forward. "Just be careful. Eosmon has the ability to steal the minds of others and trap them in their memories. If she does that to you, you'll fall into a coma that won't be easy to get out of since you won't want to leave whatever happy memory you're trapped in. And she's strong. Even at the Ultimate level, she can challenge a Mega."
"So how strong is she at the actual Mega level?" Ophanimon C asked.
Before the dragon Digimon could answer, Eosmon used her Aurora Stream, firing a beam from the jewel on her forehead that emitted a screeching sound that caused those watching to cover their ears. At first Seraphimon and Ophanimon C covered theirs as well, but as the beam came at them, they split apart, one going one way, the other going the other way.
Eosmon turned her head so her beam went in Ophanimon C's direction. The angel Digimon flew along, flying in a circle around Eosmon as the beam closed in behind her. Ophanimon C glanced back at it, then wrapped her flames around herself for cover and expanded them outward. Eosmon's beam tore through the giant fireball, but it was unknown if she hit her target.
While she was turned away, Seraphimon flew into the unidentified Digimon's face and punched her in the side of the head while simultaneously using his Hallowed Knuckle. The ball of light exploded between Eosmon's head and Seraphimon's hand, knocking her off balance.
Ophanimon C burst out of her fireball and turned to the unidentified Digimon. Using her Call Dramon, she brought forth her dragon, and it breathed a stream of fire at Eosmon. The unidentified Digimon suddenly raised her hands, and what seemed to be transparent panels suddenly materialized around her, shielding her from the dragon's flames.
"Hallowed Ascension!" Seraphimon cried, bringing down lightning.
"Cutting Edge!" Eosmon cried.
Before Seraphimon's lightning could strike, Eosmon suddenly teleported away. She reappeared beside Ophanimon C's dragon in mid-slash motion, and sliced the dragon's head clean off. Ophanimon C pulled back in surprise as her dragon disappeared, and Eosmon shifted her body towards her. "Aurora Stream!"
Another piercing screech, another beam fired. Ophanimon C had made to cover her ears, but instead turned the movement into a motion to hold up her shield and use her Unicorn Shield. Eosmon's beam slammed into the barrier that manifested and bounced off it as it was deflected, but the power of the beam pushed her back.
"Strike of the Seven Stars!" Seraphimon cried as he hovered behind Eosmon, firing his attack into her back.
Eosmon jolted forward, then whirled around to face him and fired another beam. As the beam flew at him, it suddenly split apart, branching off into different directions, then circled back and struck the angel Digimon, creating an explosion that sent him flying.
"No!" Ophanimon C shouted. And flew towards the unidentified Digimon. "Shining Laser III!"
She fired beams from her hands as she got as close as she dared, closer than arm-length for Eosmon. The unidentified Digimon tried to turn to her, but she was so big in comparison that Ophanimon C was able to circle around her as she turned while keeping close enough to remain out of Eosmon's sights.
"Cruelty Rain!" the unidentified Digimon cried.
Several dozen more panels suddenly appeared in the air around Ophanimon C as the ones that were already floating around all suddenly came raining down on the angel Digimon. Ophanimon C created another barrier with her Unicorn Shield, but the panels kept coming down on it until the barrier finally shattered. The panels continued coming down, smashing against the angel Digimon, and they were eventually able to bring her to the ground, where they proceeded to come down on her, even when she was half-buried in the ground.
Omnimon made to go to her, but was held back by OmniShoutmon. "Don't," he said, and glanced at Boltboutamon, who was watching them out of the corner of his eye, smirking. "He's watching. Just have faith in them."
That faith paid off as Seraphimon came flying in low, then shot straight up, punching out balls of light with his Hallowed Knuckle that exploded up the length of Eosmon's body upon impact.
Eosmon turned her attention from Ophanimon C to Seraphimon, manifesting several more panels in front of her to block the angel Digimon's attack. Then she fired her Aurora Stream. The beam once again split apart into several dozen smaller ones branching off in different directions, but then they all flew after Seraphimon.
"Crap!" the angel Digimon exclaimed, and flew off as the beams flew after him.
They were faster than he was, and so he was forced to dodge. But even when he did, the beams doubled back and came at him again. When one beam made contact with another, it resulted in an explosion, and so Seraphimon began to punch out balls of light at the beams when he could before using his Hallowed Ascension to bring down lightning on several more.
Eosmon stopped her attack, only to fire another beam, which branched off into several more and went after Seraphimon again. This time, Eosmon began to manifest panels in the angel Digimon's path, making dodging even more difficult, as he now had to maneuver around the panels while dodging the beams.
He was eventually struck by one, and then another, then several more exploded against him. But Seraphimon's distraction had allowed Ophanimon C time to recover, and she was back in the game, though horrified as she watched the beams explode against Seraphimon. And as Eosmon fired another beam, this one remaining a single beam, she flew up into its path and used her Unicorn Shield, deflecting it with her barrier.
Eosmon cocked her head to the side, as if she were curious, and suddenly manifested another panel, this one appearing inside Ophanimon C's barrier. What more, it appeared inside of her shield, slicing it in two. The severed half fell off, bursting into data, and her barrier vanished.
Ophanimon C decided to attack before Eosmon could, and fired her Holy Destroy, but Eosmon manifested a wall of panels in front of her to block the attack, then fired her Aurora Stream, and one beam split into many and flew around her panel wall.
Ophanimon C gasped as the beams came at her. She wrapped her fire around herself, but the beams went straight through, and she was blasted out of her sphere of fire. More beams came at her, but lightning from Seraphimon's Hallowed Ascension came down to stop them, and the angel Digimon came to her side.
"Thanks for the save," she said. "Call Dramon!"
Her dragon appeared once again, behind Eosmon this time, and began breathing fire at her. Eosmon turned around and raised her hand. Several more panels appeared once again, some manifesting within the dragon, their manifestation cutting the dragon clean through. The dragon stopped breathing fire as a panel appeared within its neck, decapitating it, including others that severed a wing, two legs, and even one that nearly cut it in half, and the dragon dissolved away.
Eosmon turned back to the two angel Digimon. They seemed to understand what was about to happen and took off, moments before more panels manifested where they had been that would have cut them apart. Eosmon's gaze followed after them, more panels appearing as they wildly flew about so as not to make their positions predictable.
As he flew along, Seraphimon turned around and began flying backwards so he could fire his Hallowed Knuckle at the unidentified Digimon. The balls of light that didn't hit any of the panels in the air blasted against Eosmon. That is, until Seraphimon punched outward just as a panel manifested. It appeared inside his arm, cutting it clean off, and he cried out in pain.
Ophanimon C came to a stop as she saw what happened. "Seraphi- Ah!"
A panel appeared to her left, slicing off several of her wings. She let out a cry of pain of her own as Seraphimon called out her name, then turned to Eosmon.
"Volcano Napalm!"
She threw fireballs beneath the unidentified Digimon that erupted into pillars of flames up into Eosmon. Despite his severed arm, Seraphimon used his Hallowed Ascension, bringing his lightning down on Eosmon.
A high-pitched screech escaped Eosmon as she was both shocked and burned. Seraphimon and Ophanimon C didn't waste any time as they flew back towards her, and then simultaneously fired their Strike of the Seven Stars and Air Sefirot Crystal. Their attacks hit Eosmon at the same time, and the unidentified Digimon toppled over.
Ophanimon C looked at Seraphimon worriedly, her gaze landing on the place where half his arm used to be. "Seraphimon, your arm…"
He grasped his stump. "It's fine. It's not like I lost my human arm."
"Yeah, but-"
"Cruelty Rain!" Eosmon cried.
All the panels the had manifested thus far that hadn't been destroyed suddenly sprang to life and rose up into the air, filling the sky. Then they suddenly came crashing down on Seraphimon and Ophanimon C in waves. There was no escaping them; they were everywhere. The two angel Digimon were hammered by the panels, getting smashed to the ground, and then hit over and over again. Their friends called out their names, but there was nothing to be done, and the attack continued until the last of the panels smashed against them.
Eosmon slowly sat up and rose into the air once more, hovering over the two angel Digimon. She held up her arms and spread her wings, and the slides on the sphere of her tail began to open. From it, new Digimon emerged, flying into the air and began swirling around the unidentified Digimon who had created them, their number growing by the second.
"Wait, what are those?" Gallantmon X exclaimed.
OmniShoutmon's eyes narrowed. "Eosmon Ultimate. She has the ability to make copies of her Ultimate level."
"She what?"
"You're surprised? She's not the first Digimon we've come across who can create artificial Digimon or copies of themself. Remember Ordinemon, or Diaboromon and all his copies." His gaze shifted to Boltboutamon. "And that evil psycho up there has done it several times."
"I thought this was supposed to be a two-on-one fight," Imperialdramon growled. "This doesn't look like it's two-on-one to me."
Boltboutamon chuckled. "Oh, come now, it's not my fault if Eosmon can create copies of herself. Your friends will just have to deal with it."
Both Seraphimon and Ophanimon C struggled to sit up. They looked up at Eosmon and her swarming Ultimate level copies. Things were most definitely looking grim.
"What are we going to do?" Ophanimon C asked. "She's too strong for us."
Seraphimon forced himself to stand. "We'll keep fighting. We have to. Final Heal!" His severed arm regenerated. "Perfect Revival!"
Ophanimon C's chopped off wings grew back as his healing light flowed over her, and her other injuries healed. She then took hold of Seraphimon's hand, and he pulled her to her feet. She gave him a grateful smile before looking up the unidentified Digimon. "But how are we going to stop her, especially now that she has all those minions?"
Seraphimon looked as well. "If we can get close enough, maybe we can deliver a fatal blow to end things quickly."
Ophanimon C hesitated as she seemed to catch on to his meaning. "Will we be able to get that close? Those panel…"
"I know, but it's our best chance. We'll just have to be careful to avoid them. We can do this. Come on, let's go. Excalibur!"
He manifested his sword, and the two of the flew up towards Esomon. She looked down at them, and all her copies flew down towards the two angel Digimon.
"Hexa-Thunder!" several of the copies cried, unleashing electric attacks from their antenna.
Seraphimon and Ophanimon C continued onward, breaking apart from each other and avoiding the electric attacks as they flew directly into the swarm of Eosmon Ultimate copies. With Seraphimon using his sword and Ophanimon C using her flaming javelin, they began hacking their way through the copies as they approached the real thing. Fortunately, despite being just as powerful as the real versions, the copies were fragile and easily disposed of, their numbers being the biggest threat.
The true Eosmon raised a hand, and panels began manifesting in the two angel Digimon's path, some even hacking apart some of her copies who were unfortunate enough to be in the same spot where panels were manifesting. Seraphimon and Ophanimon C maneuvered around them while simultaneously trying to avoid being cut in half themselves as they plowed through the swarm of copies while avoiding their attacks.
"Aurora Stream!" Eosmon cried.
Seraphimon and Ophanimon C readied themselves, having known that this would be coming. As the screeching beam burst forth and broke off into many, some of the beams even hitting a few of the Eosmon copies, the two angel Digimon did their best to avoid them as they continued to fly around the panels that appeared in their paths, threatening to cut them apart, while attacking the copies and avoiding their electric attacks.
The beams and Eosmon copies they flew past came back around to follow them, but the two angel Digimon managed to stay ahead of them. It was still too much though. Too much was happening all at once around them, and a few of the beams managed to explode against them, which, consequently, caused them to fall prey to the copies' Hexa-Thunder attacks. They pushed onward though, closing the distance between them and their target.
When they were within striking distance, Eosmon manifested a wall of panels in front of her, cutting off the two angel Digimon while providing her a wall of protection. Seraphimon flew to the left and Ophanimon C flew to the right, several dozen beams following after them as the copies closed in. They circled around the panel wall and came together with Eosmon in between them. Seraphimon thrust forward with his sword the same time Ophanimon C thrust with her javelin, and both their weapons stabbed into Eosmon's head on opposite sides.
Abandoning their weapons, the two angel Digimon flew straight up, and the numerous beams that had been following them began flying into Eosmon, exploding against her, and a high-pitched cry escaped the unidentified Digimon.
"Hallowed Ascension!"
"Holy Destroy!"
Their attacks came down on Eosmon in addition to the barrage of beams blasting against her. Slowly, the unidentified Digimon began to topple over, her body breaking down into data until she fully disappeared before she even hit the ground. The panels and the Eosmon copies dissolved away as well, leaving only the two angel Digimon behind.
The DigiDestined stared at their comrades, and then Gallantmon X let out a cheer of victory. The others soon followed as they cheered for their friends while the remaining enemy Digimon roared and snarled. The only one who wasn't making any noise was Boltboutamon, who was staring at the battlefield in bewilderment, as if he couldn't believe the outcome of the battle. But then a grin spread across his face, and he began clapping, bringing his hands together harder and harder before letting out a hearty laugh.
"Marvelous! Simply marvelous!" he appraised, still clapping. "I never would have thought the battle would end in such a way."
No longer cheering, Omnimon turned to the demon Digimon, now looking furious. "You bastard! I knew it. This whole individual battles thing is a shame; you don't expect us to survive our opponents."
Boltboutamon let out another laugh. "Oh my, do you really think I could plan something so manipulative? I'm being completely legit here."
"We don't believe you," Gallantmon X shouted, now sounding outraged, and he held up his lance. "Zeig Saber!"
His energy lance extended, shooting up towards the demon Digimon. Boltboutamon just grinned and smacked away the stabbing beam with one hand, then flew down the length of it until he was right in front of the knight Digimon. Reaching out, he grasped Gallantmon X by the face and threw him onto the battlefield.
"Since you're so eager to fight, you can go next. And you…"
He stuck his hand into a portal. A second one appeared behind Imperialdramon and grabbed the dragon Digimon by the back of his head, pulling him back and into the portal. A third one appeared beside Gallantmon X, and Imperialdramon was tossed out of it.
"You can join him since you want to fight so badly too," Boltboutamon told him. He let out a chuckle as he looked at the two of them in anticipation. "After all, our game has only just begun."
(A/N: Ok, so things aren't exactly going as planned for our heroes, as Boltboutamon has roped them into his twisted game. Fortunately, Seraphimn and Ophanimon C were able to defeat their opponent, and now it's Imperialdramon and Gallantmon X's turn to fight. Who will their opponent be? Any guesses. And let's not forget about the battle between Lucemon and Daemon that's still going on. How exactly is that going to end. Find out next time.)
