(A/N: Alrighty then. We had a cliffhanger ending after our heroes began facing off against impossible odds. Originally, this chapter and last were going to be a single chapter, but seeing how long it was turning out to be, I decided to split it up into two, and where I ended it last time seemed the best place to do so, so I ended it there. Now then, let's get back to it.)

Chapter 181: Making The Impossible Possible
"TK!" the others cried, and Ogudomon turned to them, roaring loudly.
"Damn you!" Gallantmon X shouted, and used his Royal Saber attack, despite knowing it was useless.
The others seemed to be of the same mind, firing their own attacks, each one being neutralized. Ogudomon just roared and went after them, swiping wildly with his claws.
Beneath the rubble, debris shifted around before Seraphimon burst out of it, breathing heavily. He may have been a powerful Mega, but having an entire structure collapse on top of him and then blasted to pieces was not fun. His real concern though was for the small Digimon in his hands.
"Calumon?" he asked worriedly.
He looked down. Calumon was still in his hands, but his eyes were closed, and he didn't look good. His small body had become static-y and then solidified before becoming static-y again. Fear gripped Seraphimon as he realized the holy beast Digimon was close to death.
"Don't you dare die," he told him. "We said we were going to get you out, and that's what we're going to do. Perfect Revival!"
It may not have been the best decision to waste energy with such a powerful opponent present, but he couldn't let the little guy die, therefore it was not a waste. His healing light flowed over the holy beast Digimon, and Calumon slowly opened his eyes.
"Hi, hello there," he said weakly.
Seraphimon let out a sigh of relief, knowing he would be ok. "You're ok, I'm glad."
Calumon gave him a small smile. "You saved me. Thank you. But even if I died, I would have been happy, because I would no longer have been a prisoner."
His words broke Seraphimon's heart, and he glared furiously at Ogudomon from behind his helmet as the incarnation Digimon fought his friends. Seeing the grotesque monstrosity that was Ogudomon absolutely sickened him. The beast's outer truly reflected his inner, and it was completely baffling to the angel Digimon. How could someone, something, possibly be so horrible, so completely evil? It was unthinkable that anyone could fall so low.
He suddenly found himself remembering the first time he and his friends had seen Lucemon, I his Rookie form. He had looked so kind, so friendly, an angel Digimon like himself. True, it had all been an act to deceive his friends, but that hadn't always been the case. Lucemon had once been kind. He recalled the story they had been told of how Lucemon had ended the war between the Humanoid and Beast type Digimon, and had then gone on to peacefully govern the Digital World.
That is, until his paranoia and lust for power began to take hold, causing Lucemon to fall further and further into darkness, corrupting him from the inside out, until he was no longer recognizable, going from the peaceful ruler to the tyrant who believed the only way to maintain order was to completely dominate and subjugate everyone and everything.
Now that Seraphimon really thought about it, the level Lucemon had fallen to was actually rather sad. What would the old Lucemon think if himself now? And not just him, but Daemon as well. Cherubimon had claimed that Daemon had once been a Seraphimon, just like him, but had fallen prey to the Dark Ocean and become Daemon. And now here they were, two once great beings, now Demon Lords, having merged together to become the ultimate evil beast that was Ogudomon. It was really sad to see how low the mighty could fall.
Suddenly, something seemed to snap in Seraphimon, and his shoulders slumped as all the anger and hate drained out of him, leaving him feeling mentally exhausted. This was… truly a tragedy. Not any of the evil deeds Lucemon and Daemon had done, but the two of them. They were the real tragedy, having fallen prey to the darkness and their own greed and lust for power. They had allowed themselves to be twisted into these horrible evil monsters. Truly, nothing could possibly be sadder. Seraphimon would much rather die a horrible, painful death a thousand times over than end up like them.
And possibly the worst part was that they liked who they were now. They enjoyed being agents of darkness, relishing in the forces of evil that they were. Thinking about who they once were and who they were now, Seraphimon found that he actually pitied them. What more, he found that he wanted to help them. Not who they were now, for there was truly no helping who they now were, but who they used to be.
But perhaps, somehow, there was a way to help who they used to be. From what he knew of who Lucemon and Daemon used to be, their old selves would never have wanted to become what they were now. They would have rather died than fall so far from grace. Seraphimon truly believed that because… it was what he would have wanted for himself as well.
Calumon blinked up at him as a drop of wetness landed on him. "Hey, are you ok? I think your eyes are leaking."
Seraphimon looked down at him and realized he was right. Tears were running down his cheeks, dripping from the bottom of his helmet. He was actually crying, crying for Lucemon and Daemon, or for who they used to be anyway.
Sniffing, he gave Calumon a smile, even though his helmet obscured it. "Don't worry, it'll be ok. You just get to someplace safe."
He set the holy beast Digimon down and then took to the air. He flew at full speed towards Ogudomon, full of determination. Ogudomon didn't even notice him as he focused on the others.
"That's enough out of you!" Seraphimon shouted as he came up behind the Super Demon Lord. "Strike of the Seven Stars!"
Ogudomon barely glanced at him as Seraphimon fired his attack. Ogudomon was actually starting to look away from him again when the seven balls of light slammed into the side of his head and exploded. Ogudomon roared as he stumbled in surprise, letting out a second roar as he regained his footing.
Shocked gasps escaped the DigiDestined and they froze in mid-air as they witnessed the attack hit dead-on.
"It hit," Omnimon gasped.
Ogudomon turned to Seraphimon and snarled as the angel Digimon flew at him, punching out balls of light with his Hallowed Knuckle. Like before, the attacks landed, blasting against the incarnation Digimon to the full affect.
Ogudomon opened his mouth and breathed a stream of fire. Seraphimon swerved to avoid it, flying along its length and up to Ogudomon's head. Using his Excalibur, he slashed at the Super Demon Lord with his sword of light, and a cut appeared on Ogudomon's face.
"It hit again!" the DigiDestined chorused.
Turning around, Seraphimon increased the power of his Light attacks with his Justice Genome, then brought lightning down with his Hallowed Ascension. The Super Demon Lord roared furiously as the bolts of lightning rained down on him.
"His neutralization must be off!" Imperialdramon declared. "Let's blast him! Super Positron Laser!"
"You idiot, it doesn't turn off!" OmniShoutmon snapped.
Imperialdramon ignored him and fired a beam that flew at Ogudomon, but unlike Seraphimon's attacks, it was neutralized, leaving the dragon Digimon baffled. "What the hell!?"
The others looked to Seraphimon as he flew over. "You hit him," said Gallantmon X in amazement. "Several times. Not by accident, but full-on, and your attacks weren't neutralized. How? Why?"
Seraphimon was quiet for a moment before he looked back at Ogudomon. "I'm really not sure."
The Super Demon Lord was seething as he glared at them. Raising two of his claws into the air, he brought down lightning around him. He motioned towards the DigiDestined, and the lightning made a near 90 degree turn to fly at them. They fled from the bolts while trying to stay close to Seraphimon to hear his explanation.
"What do you mean, you don't know?" OmniShoutmon demanded incredulously. "Any attack used on Ogudomon containing even a hint of malice gets neutralized. Those attacks you used didn't hit him by accident; you hit him on purpose. How?"
"I don't know!" Seraphimon insisted.
"You have to figure it out," Susanoomon insisted. "This could be the break we need. He's still tired and low on energy, and wounded from Lucemon and Daemon's fight with each other. This might be our only chance to beat him. You have to figure out how you hit him."
Seraphimon glanced back at Ogudomon as the incarnation Digimon proceeded to direct lightning at them. "Maybe… because my attacks had no malice in them, that's why they were able to hit."
Gallantmon X pulled back as a bolt of lightning cut him off. "How'd that happen? This is a fight to the death. Any attack we use against him is intended to cause harm, so they have malice by default. How can yours not contain any malice?"
A deep sigh escaped Seraphimon. "I know it may sound strange, but somehow I just can't bring myself to hate him anymore."
Imperialdramon's eyes practically popped out of his head. "Not hate him anymore? Dude, what?"
Seraphimon nodded. "I don't really know how to explain it, but I don't. Honestly, I actually feel bad for him."
OmniShoutmon's mouth dropped open. "You feel bad for him? You feel bad for him!? Seraphimon, how can you say that? You know who he is, what he's done. No, wait, you don't. Not really. You've only seen the bare minimum. But even that should be more than enough. He tried to kill you, tried to kill all of us. He's caused so much suffering! How could you possibly feel bad for him!?"
"I feel bad for who he, who they, used to be," Seraphimon declared, trying to put what he now felt into words.
The others were silent for a few moments. "What?" Omnimon finally asked.
The angel Digimon nodded. "They weren't always bad. And I couldn't help thinking of how their old selves would feel about what they've become, and I can't help but pity them becoming this. So yeah, I feel bad for them."
"That's crazy!" Imperialdramon declared. "They don't deserve the slightest amount of pity or sympathy."
Seraphimon gave him a hard look that went by unseen from behind his helmet. "And what about you? What about when you got infected by the Dark Spores and went bad?" He looked at Omnimon. "Or when you became BlackWarGreymon? And OmniShoutmon, what about when Cherubimon got taken over by the black gear?"
OmniShoutmon shook his head. "That's completely different. Lucemon and Daemon chose to be evil."
"Yes," Seraphimon agreed. "But there was a time where they never would have considered such a thing. Events and circumstances change us over time, and they chose to walk down a dark path. But that wasn't always the case. And when I think about how they used to be, but over time became reduced to this," he looked back at Ogudomon, "I can only feel pity for them for ending up this way. Just as I did you for guys, even if your corruption wasn't by choice the way theirs was."
Ogudomon roared again. He raised his claws, but this time did not bring down lightning. Instead, a massive chunk of land rose up into the air, and he sent it flying at the DigiDestined. Omnimon used his Fearsome Blade, splitting the near mountain-sized section of land in half, the two halves crashing down on either side of them.
"Ok," he admitted, "I guess I can see where you're coming if you put it that way."
Ophanimon C gave a small nod. "Yeah, me too. When I think about who they were and what they are now, it's really sad."
"But what's that have to do with getting around his hack?" Gallantmon X asked. "We can feel sorry for them all we want, but at the end of the day, we're still attacking with the intent to harm."
Seraphimon sighed. "Maybe so, but that wasn't why I attacked. It wasn't out of some desire to harm or destroy, nor was it because I wanted to fight. Quite frankly, I'd rather not have to harm someone even as evil as Ogudomon when I think back to who he once was. It's more like… I attacked in order to help them. To save whatever's left of who they once were. Not because I wanted to, but because I had to, because there's no other choice, because it's the only thing I can do for them, and it's the only way to help them." He hesitated. "And maybe, when they start over after they're reborn, there's a chance that they may choose a different path this time, a better path."
The others looked back at Ogudomon as he approached, somehow seeing him with new eyes.
"I think I get it," Susanoomon replied, now sounding sad. "It's like a mercy killing. Or disciplining a misbehaving child so they won't keep doing bad things. It's not because you want to harm them, but because you have to, for their own good."
"In that context, I think I can see it too," Ophanimon C said as Ogudomon closed in. "From that perspective, I do feel bad. Sorry even. He's like a rabid dog, and the only way to help him, or who he once was, is to put him down. If that's the case, then this is the only thing I can do. Air Sefirot Crystal!"
She launched her crystals as a powerful gust of holy air pushed them along. Ogudomon charged forward uncaringly, but then the crystals struck him right in the face and exploded. The Super Demon Lord roared and stumbled back, shaking his head, then snarled at her.
"You hit him!" Omnimon exclaimed. "So that's the key to getting around his invincibility. Attacking out of a sense of kindness. We have to view him not as an enemy to defeat, but a victim we can only help by taking him down. Graceful Cannon!"
He fired his freezing cutting beam. Ogudomon froze as the beam came at him, as if he too wanted to see what would happen. The attack, however, was neutralized. Ogudomon sneered at him before letting out another roar and charging forward again.
Omnimon stared as the Super Demon Lord charged at him and his friends. He took a deep breath and let it out slowly as Ogudomon closed the distance between them, then tried to imagine the incarnation Digimon back to how he was when he was still the kind-hearted Lucemon and Seraphimon before they became the corrupted monstrosities they were now, and he realized that it was true, it was really sad to think of what had become of them. And if this was the only way to help them…
"Graceful Cannon!"
He fired again. His beam flew forward, into Ogudomon's snarling open mouth, and straight out the back of his head. The Super Demon Lord skidded to a halt and began sputtering and shaking his head.
"Well, I'll be damned," Susanoomon awed quietly. "I guess we're killing him with kindness. ZERO-ARMS: Orcohi!"
He manifested his giant weapon and fired a ball of energy. Ogudomon looked up from his sputtering and raised a claw, catching the attack. It erupted in his hand, blasting him back, and he tripped over his many legs.
"My turn," said Gallantmon X, pointing his lance at him. "Zeig Saber!"
His energy lance extended into a beam. It stuck Ogudomon, but was neutralized, the beam shrinking back into his lance. A low growl escaped Gallantmon X and he tried again with his Royal Saber, only to have this attack neutralized too. He then shook his head, reminding himself that Ogudomon being what he was, what he Lucemon and Daemon had allowed themselves to become, was a tragedy. Something to be pitied, not despised.
"This is for your own good," he said quietly, "even if you don't know it. If the old yous were anything like us, then you would have wanted us to do this rather than let you go on committing such evil deeds. And when you're reborn, I truly hope you'll take a more peaceful path. But even if you don't, anything is better than letting you remain the monster that you are now. This is for your own good! Final Elysion!"
He fired a beam from his shield. This time, the attack really did hit, pushing Ogudomon back.
Imperialdramon watched as his friends fought. He glanced at OmniShoutmon, but could see the outrage in the dragon Digimon's eyes. Imperialdramon could most definitely relate. He too held great hatred in his heart for the Demon Lords after the way they made him betray his friends, even if it had been Laylamon specifically. He didn't think he could forgive them for that. He did want to forgive them, or feel any kind of sympathy, sorrow, or remorse of any kind.
But the old Lucemon and the Seraphimon that Daemon had once been… Maybe he couldn't forgive them either since they were the ones who had allowed themselves to become corrupted, but he could pity them, or who they had been. He tried to compare them to himself. They hadn't been tricked and infected with darkness the way he had, but they had still been victims, victims of their own dark desires that had led them to make bad decision after bad decision, eventually leading them here. And that was sad. He felt bad for them for that. How horrible it must be to be so weak, to be such a slave to your own greed and lust for power that you change so much that you no longer recognize yourself.
"The old yous would want this," he said as he manifested his cannon and took aim. "I know you would, because it's what I would have wanted had I known I was going to betray my friends and go bad. So I'll give you what you would have wanted. Giga Crusher!"
He fired an energy wave. It hit Ogudomon, resulting in a massive explosion, drowning out the incarnation Digimon's roar.
Regrouping, the DigiDestined watched as the blast died down. Ogudomon was still there, rising to his feet. He may have been injured and weak from Lucemon and Daemon's battle, but he was still a Super Demon Lord, and he roared at those who dared to defy him.
"This is it, guys," Seraphimon told them. "Our one and only chance to stop him. Not just for our sake, or for the Digital World's, but for his as well. Keep that in mind."
Ogudomon took a step towards them, and then spoke for the first time in something other than declaring an attack. "My own good? Foolish humans, you know nothing!"
"Whoa, he has intelligence," said Gallantmon X. "I thought he was a mindless beast."
"You're wrong," Omnimon told Ogudomon. "It's you who knows nothing. You're too blinded by hate and greed to see what you've become. You've become so corrupt that you've allowed yourself to become a manifestation of pure evil, and you actually enjoy it."
"You can't see it, but we do," said Ophanimon C. "And the Lucemon and Seraphimon you used to be would agree. For your own sake, we'll stop you here and now. Shining Laser III!"
"Double Torrent!"
"Hyper Prominence!"
"Heaven's Thunder!"
"Hallowed Ascension!"
OmniShoutmon watched as his friends did battle with Ogudomon, their attacks successfully landing. The Super Demon Lord may have been unimaginably powerful, but there was no doubt that he was also very weary; Lucemon and Daemon must have done a real number on each other.
He wanted to fight with his friends, but he knew there was no point. Regardless of what his friends said, there was just too much hate in his heart for the Demon Lords, even for the ones who weren't always evil. He wouldn't be able to attack without malicious intent, so his attacks would be ineffective, and he'd only get in the way, or get himself killed. He couldn't forgive them for all their evil deeds, he just couldn't!
Ogudomon raged as he lashed out at the DigiDestined. For a fraction of a second, the Super Demon Lord felt just a sliver of doubt. If he were at full power, he would be able to decimate these humans with the greatest of ease, even with them finding a way past his invincibility. But after fighting for two days straight as Lucemon and Daemon, no food, no water, no rest, both substantially damaging the other, he was almost out of steam.
These humans had somehow miraculously managed to destroy other Demon Lords. And now they had managed to find a way around his invincibility. And for a moment, the briefest moment, the thought that they somehow might just be able to defeat him crossed his mind.
The thought passed quickly as he dismissed it as utterly ludicrous. But still, the thought had occurred to him, and it infuriated him. To think that these humans had somehow managed to make him doubt himself for even a millisecond was inexcusable, and it sent him into a murderous rage.
Letting out a roar, Ogudomon seized control of the gravity around them and greatly amplified it. The DigiDestined immediately dropped like rocks from the sky, smashing into the ground hard enough to crack it.
"What… the hell… is happening…?" Imperialdramon grunted, not even able to lift his head.
"I feel like… my body weighs a ton…" Ophanimon C muttered.
"It must be… the gravity…" Gallantmon X replied. "OmniShoutmon said… he could… manipulate it…"
Ogudomon roared as he stalked over to them. Lifting one leg after another, he brought them down on each DigiDestined, pinning them to the ground. Not that it was necessary since the immense gravity kept them pinned, and Ogudomon seemed completely unfazed by it.
"No!" OmniShoutmon gasped quietly as he realized that the Super Demon Lord had them. The incarnation Digimon sneered victoriously as he looked down at them, pressing them even harder into the ground than what the crushing gravity was already doing.
OmniShoutmon shook, helpless, as he realized his friends were about to die. He wanted to help, but how could he? He hated Ogudomon too much to be able to fight without malice. Could he somehow convince his conscience to attack without any hate or intent to harm? It seemed so impossible. They very idea of it seemed incomprehensible.
He could still remember the first time he died, how Lucemon laughed as he killed him, and then went on to commit evil deed after evil deed until there wasn't a trace of the original kind-hearted Lucemon left. And Daemon, OmniShoutmon had known him as well, back when he was a Seraphimon, from before he lost his faith in the Light and opened himself up to the Darkness, falling prey to the Dark Ocean.
His fists shook as he dug his fingers into his palms. Tears had begun running down his cheeks in streams as he thought of all the atrocities the Demon Lords had committed. He'd heard his friends' words of feeling sorry for them, and had to admit that he'd never looked at things that way before. He could admit that it was indeed tragically sad that they had ended up like this when they could have been something so much more, something good. And the funny thing was, he did find himself feeling sorry for the old Lucemon and Seraphimon. But it wasn't enough for him to be able to let go of his hate. It was what was preventing him from attacking the way he needed to in order to stop the monstrosity that was Ogudomon.
A wave of nausea hit him as he compared the old Lucemon and Seraphimon to their current state. It completely sickened him, and a surge of hate that he couldn't control flowed through him, along with a dose of fury. That any good Digimon could fall so low to generate this much hate in anyone was unimaginable. He simply couldn't take it.
"How…?" he seethed quietly, his body shaking with rage. "How could you…? HOW COULD YOU LET THIS HAPPEN!?"
He suddenly shot forward at top speed as Ogudomon was raising Susanoomon to his massive jaws. Using all his strength, he unleashed his Omni Core Fusion. The Omnimon-shaped aura flew into the side of Ogudomon's head.
And struck.
Ogudomon roared and turned to OmniShoutmon, only to have the dragon Digimon slash the side of his face with his Doom Drillpress. The Super Demon Lord snarled and looked up at OmniShoutmon hovering in the air above him, the gravity having returned to normal.
"Impossible," Ogudomon seethed. "How could you, you, of all people manage to touch me? You should hate me more than anyone."
OmniShoutmon's eyes shined with fury. "Oh, I do. Sovereigns, I do. More than words can describe. But I didn't always. There was a time where I would have thought of you, of both of you, as my friends. I hate seeing what you've become. And had you still been who you used to be, you would hate it as well. For their sake alone, I'm setting everything else aside. Yes, I want justice, I want revenge, I want to make you pay for all the horrible things you've done."
He closed his eyes for a few moments as the tears flowed. "But I'm going to let all that go. All the anger, all the hate, all of it, I'm setting it aside and fighting for a new sake. For your own. For who you used to be, for the kind-hearted individuals you once were, for their sake, I will stop you. Victorize Banking!"
He fired a V-shaped bolt from his head. It struck the claw holding Susanoomon, and Ogudomon released him, more out of surprise than pain.
The god Digimon put some distance between himself and the Super Demon Lord. Now that he was free, his first agenda was freeing his friends, and so he manifested his ZERO-ARMS: Orochi.
"Those big feet of yours are a real nuisance," he said as he activated his weapon. "Celestial Blade!"
He swung the weapon through the air, and the giant blade of light cut through everything in its path. It sliced through one leg after another midway up Ogudomon's limbs. The incarnation Digimon roared and toppled over as his seven legs were. Each of the claws pinning down a DigiDestined burst into data, and the DigiDestined quickly joined OmniShoutmon and Susanoomon in the sky.
"That was a close one," Imperialdramon commented. He glanced at his fellow dragon Digimon. "Glad to see you could let things go long enough to attack him affectively."
But OmniShoutmon didn't even glance at him. Truthfully, he didn't know how long he could hold onto the sorrow he felt for the old Lucemon and Seraphimon before his hate for the Demon Lord Lucemon and Daemon surpassed it. "Let's just do this while my resolve lasts."
Omnimon nodded. "Right, then listen up, I want to try something. You see those seven swords in his legs?"
Gallantmon X nodded as he looked at the swords protruding from each of Ogudomon's knees, above which one of the Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins floated. "Yeah, what about them?"
"Seven of us, seven of them. Let's attack there together, see if it'll take him down."
Imperialdramon shrugged. "Hell, better than anything I have in mind."
"Right then," Seraphimon agreed. "Let's go."
They flew up high over Ogudomon as the Super Demon Lord attempted to stand on the stumps where his claws had once been. Together, they dropped down, each of them heading for a different sword. At the same time, they each burst through one of the Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins and struck the hilt of the sword with all their might.
Ogudomon roared, and a massive stream of fire flew out of his mouth. He shook his head about, sending fire flying everywhere, but the DigiDestined had already regrouped, having pulled out of their dives and retreating after having attacked. Ogudomon continued to breathe fire as he stumbled around, but then his knees buckled and he fell in a heap.
"Now!" Omnimon shouted. "Hit him hard! Double Torrent!"
"Hyper Prominence!"
"Final Elysion!"
"ZERO-ARMS: Orochi!"
"Holy Destroy!"
"Strike of the Seven Stars!"
"Omni Core Fusion!"
Ogudomon looked up and roared as the attacks came at him and exploded, engulfing him in the blast. They kept on firing, giving it everything they had, stirring up a large cloud of smoke that obscured everything, even the blasts. They kept attacking until the strain of it became too much and they were forced to rest. Breathing heavily, they waited in silence for the smoke to clear, hoping against hope.
When the smoke finally cleared, Ogudomon was still there, hunched over, motionless, the one eye they could see closed. The DigiDestined stared, unable to believe what they were seeing, but it looked like Ogudomon was down.
"I don't believe it," Susanoomon X whispered. "Did we actually defeat him?"
Omnimon pointed his cannon at him. "Not yet. No more loose ends."
A humorless chuckle escaped Imperialdramon. "Yeah, I guess we learned our lesson from Laylamon."
Suddenly, Ogudomon's eye snapped open and he raised his head, turning to them and opening his mouth. "Catedral!"
A burst of darkness flew out of his mouth. The DigiDestined jolted back as the attack came at them, having foolishly lowered their guard when they saw the Super Demon Lord down. The attack seemed to move in slow motion, all sound silencing as they too seemed to move in slow motion in their attempt to flee. Only OmniShoutmon held his ground, opting to put up his firewall between his friends and Ogudomon's attack, but even his cry of Heavy Metal Vulcan went by unheard.
The psychological silence was broken by the sound of Ogudomon's attack erupting in the sky above them, sending out a blast of darkness accompanied by a shockwave that tore the land apart. The darkness easily burst through OmniShoutmon's barrier and flowed over the DigiDestined, sending them all crashing to the ground.
Ogudomon rose onto the stumps of his legs and leapt through the air, coming down on top of the DigiDestined, caging them with his legs as he loomed over them. The seven eyes on the underside of each of his thighs looked down on them with pure hate.
"I'LL KILL YOU!" the Super Demon Lord thundered.
Each of the DigiDestined were pixelating. This had actually been the only time one of Ogudomon's actual attacks had hit them, and they were already on the verge of losing their Digimon forms. Except for OmniShoutmon. His own pixilation signified something else; that he was close to death. Even so, he somehow managed to find the strength to stand.
"Can't stop now," he grunted. "We'll never get a chance like this again."
Seraphimon forced himself to his feet as well, stumbling over to him. "Then we'll give it everything we have. All of our strength, all of our power. One last attack."
The others joined as well, coming together, holding onto each other for support. OmniShoutmon looked at each of them and then up at Ogudomon, and his eyes narrowed. "Yes, one last attack."
He began glowing as he summoned up all his energy, and a golden aura surrounded him. The DigiDestined began glowing as well, feeling his strength flow into them, and they shared theirs as well, forming a chain of all their power flowing into each other.
From a distance away, Calumon looked on from his hiding place, as he watched the caged DigiDestined glow brightly. "Maybe this will help. Calumon Prayer!"
A beam of light flew from the marking on his forehead. It flew over to the DigiDestined, striking the group. They felt new energy flow into them as their status was restored and their resistance increased, and they began to glow even brighter, the light's intensity shining brighter than the sun.
Ogudomon's eyes widened at the sight of them. "What is this!?"
As one, the DigiDestined launched into the air, flying up to Ogudomon's center like a golden missile of light as Ogudomon's eyes followed them.
"Omni Torpedo!" OmniShoutmon cried.
They slammed into Ogudomon's underside. The incarnation Digimon roared loudly as they drove into him as cracks began to appear all across his torso. Suddenly, a beam of light burst through the top of him, completely disintegrating his head as the beam flew into the air, rising higher and higher. It slowly dimmed out and faded away as the DigiDestined emerged and came to a stop in the air, looking down at Ogudomon.
The Super Demon Lord was still standing, however, his head was completely gone, and only a large gaping hole from where the DigiDestined had burst through was in its place. Ogudomon's legs began to buckle and stumble, as if even now he were trying to remain standing. Above each of the swords in his knees, the Crowns of the Seven Deadly Sins flickered for a few moments before fading away. And then, much to the amazement of the DigiDestined, Ogudomon's body began to dissolve into data.
A deep inhalation came from Gallantmon X as he watched Ogudomon's body break down. "Guys, are you seeing what I'm seeing?"
Sections of Ogudmon's legs began to dissolve away, causing the incarnation Digimon to topple over. He still seemed to be trying to get up again as more and more of him broke down.
"Yes," said Ophanimon C. "We're seeing it too. We beat Ogudomon."
"That means we beat Lucemon and Daemon as well," said Susanoomon. "We defeated all seven Demon Lords."
What was left of Ogudomon made one last futile effort to rise, only to collapse once more and completely dissolve into data. OmniShoutmon, however, made no attempt whatsoever to absorb it as he simply looked on with eyes wet with tears of relief and joy.
"I've dreamed of this day…" he whispered in a voice that displayed nothing but shock and amazement. "Can this truly be real?"
Lifting his hand, he slapped himself across the face so hard his friends winced.
"What'd you do that for?" Imperialdramon asked.
But OmniShoutmon didn't even look at him as the dam burst and his tears proceeded to pour down his cheeks. "This isn't a dream. This is really real." He began wiping his eyes, but his tears kept flowing. "This is just… I mean… I can't…"
Seraphimon floated over and placed a hand on his shoulder. "It's ok, buddy, we got you. It's all over now."
"Yup," Imperialdramon agreed. "No more Demon Lords. Which means another Sovereign should be appearing soon. Might want to make yourself presentable."
No sooner had the words escaped his mouth did a loud bang occur. The DigiDestined all looked up as clouds began to fill the sky as it began to ripple and distort. OmniShoutmon sniffed loudly and wiped his eyes furiously, trying to dry his tears. "Get ready, he's coming."
Something large began to descend from the sky, something far larger than even Azulongmon. It was a giant golden dragon, as intimidating as it was amazing. It was entirely made of gold, its body covered in numerous scales, and six large, lethal tusks protruded from its back as twelve pinkish-reddish orbs floated in a circle between them. It had eight red eyes, three on each side of its head and two in the front. Truly, it was a sight to behold.
"Whoa," Gallantmon X muttered. "And I thought the other Sovereigns were big and intimidating."
But OmniShoutmon paid him no mind. "Behold, Huanglongmon, the Yellow Dragon of the Center. He's more powerful than the other four combined."
Ophanimon C nodded. "Yeah, I believe that."
In a display of his standard behavior, Imperialdramon waved at the giant dragon Digimon. "Hey, your honor, over here! We're so glad you're free."
OmniShoutmon groaned as Huanglongmon turned his attention to them. Bowing as best as he could in the air, OmniShoutmon humbled himself before the Sovereign. "My Lord Huanglongmon, it's so good to see you again. It is I, the Digimon King. I am pleased to inform you that all seven Demon Lords have been vanquished, and with your release, only one Sovereign remains to be freed. And we shall do so as soon as we take down Bagramon."
Huanglongmon stared at him for a few seconds before his eyes narrowed and a low growl escaped him. He bared his fangs as embers began slipping past his lips.
"Um, OmniShoutmon?" Omnimon muttered uncertainly.
OmniShoutmon looked up at the Sovereign. "My lord?"
Huanglongmon roared loudly as he opened his mouth and breathed a stream of fire at the DigiDestined.
(A/N: And behold, a miracle has occurred. Our heroes have managed to defeat Ogudomon, thus taking out both Lucemon and Daemon in the process. With a little help from Calumon of course. And now Huanglongmon has been freed. But what is this? Why is he attacking the DigiDestined? It looks like our heroes' struggles aren't over yet. Just what is going on? Stay tuned to find out what happens next.)
