He shouldn't have done it. He knew that. Consent was something he took very seriously and, while she hadn't protested at all—in fact, she'd kissed him back with gusto—the Sam sitting across from him right now didn't remember their kiss. She couldn't smile back, curse him, or slap him for using her like that. He knew it wasn't fair to her, but honestly, he didn't care. After more than a few months of living the same day over and over, he'd taken a single moment for himself. To kiss the woman he loved.
He wasn't sorry.
