It's a surprise to us both but I am slowly returning to this fandom. Let me know if anyone out there is reading this, curious to see if people are still out there...

The Magic Coin

Donna retrieved two bottles of water from the fridge, the Doctor not far behind her and equally interested in quenching his thirst. She passed him the second cold bottle and they both took a moment to drink down a few gulps.

They sighed in synchronized satisfaction and giggled at themselves.

Their appearances were comical. A quick glance revealed that the Doctor's clothing was singed and torn, his hair messier than usual. Donna had smears of dark gray soot across her forehead and down her cheeks, with a small spot on the tip of her nose. Both had hair that was slightly damp from a mix of sweat and water.

The Doctor screwed the cap back on the bottle and dropped it into his pocket. It fell in, completely disappearing from view. Not even a bulge in the fabric gave away its location. Donna was struck with a thought after seeing it vanish.

"Hey, want to see a magic trick?" she asked the Doctor, nudging his arm with her wrist.

"You can do magic?" the Doctor's eyes widened in surprise, he dragged the back of his hand across his mouth keeping his eyes on his friend the whole time.

"Of course! There's one trick I know that tops any you've ever seen."

The Doctor scoffed, "I met Houdini, that's tough to beat."

"I bet you 4 whole Soreen banana loaves that this trick will take you by surprise." She challenged.

"You've tempted me into submission, Noble. What's your trick?" The Doctor stroked his chin thoughtfully.

Donna dug into her pocket to retrieve a shiny coin. "See this?"

"My eyes are in perfect functioning order, yes. Give it here." The Doctor replied, snatching the coin and eyeing it suspiciously. Finding it to be an ordinary coin, he handed it back to her. Donna just rolled her eyes and carried on with the performance.

"Watch closely, Martian." she put the coin on the counter, then put her water bottle on top. She ran a few feet away to grab the tea towel. "I'm going to make that coin go from the countertop into the bottle. You ready?"

"Really? It's just not possible. It goes against all laws of physics, gravity, and common sense I know!"

"I beg to differ. Here it goes." Donna said, placing the tea towel on top of the bottle, which was on top of her coin. She wiggled her fingers at it and chanted loud enough for the Doctor to hear. "One, two, three, four - bottle and coin be apart no more!"

She clapped her hands together loudly. "There!" She removed the cloth from the bottle. "See for yourself, mighty Time Lord. Look inside and you'll see the coin in the water."

With her hand still on the bottle, the Doctor peered into the bottle to see the coin. When he was close enough, Donna squeezed the bottle quickly, sending water shooting up at the Doctor's face.

He was wet all over again, and Donna cackled at him mercilessly, doubling over and having a hard time catching her breath.

"Donna! I can't believe you!" he shouted between laughs of his own, wiping a hand down his face.

"You can't believe me!? I can't believe you fell for it!"

The Doctor took the bottle from the counter and eyed both the bottle and his ginger companion, threatening her with his expression.

Donna gasped, "You wouldn't."

"Wouldn't I?"

The Doctor doused Donna with the remaining water as she ran away. Soon, the Tardis was materializing water bottles for them wherever they ended up, and the water war raged on until both were too tired to continue. By the end of the battle, there wasn't a single smudge of soot or dirt on either of the ships passengers.
